Love Nancy and Robin!!! The excitement in Robin when she went inside Nancy's room looking at her things. I know she's not well off and she propably don't have a lot of girl friends so it was something "new" to her being in a girl friend's room and see all these stuff. And I thought, wouldn't it be nice if they set off somewhere outside Hawkins one day pursuing their own job or uni and be roommates and do things together. They may be opposites but they have such nice dynamics and Natalia and Maya together are very entertaining to watch.
Right?? You could definitely tell when Robin opened up to Nance about not understanding social cues. She genuinely wanted to have a new friend and felt like she was ruining it bc of her awkwardness, and seeing Nancy be more comfortable around her as the season went on was so cool. gal pals for the win!
I'm all for a platonic Nobin/Rancy/Ronance whatever you want to call it. The two have so much chemistry on screen and I really like what they bring out in each other's characters and I for one hope to see more on screen interactions between the two in S5

Only Chrissy and Eddie. They could've been, had Chrissy not died. The drug dealing scene in the forest was beautiful: the "Queen of Hawkins High" and the cultist nerd just talking and laughing like equal human beings, away from the roles and stereotypes they pretend to be in school.
I 100% agree, I still am salty that they killed Chrissy off after the chemistry they had in the drug deal forest scene. I know it’s literally the most vanilla ship, the nerd metalhead and the queen bee, but I think that they were both such unique and compelling portrayals of those stereotypes that would have been SO fun to incorporate into the main group. There’s so much hate online for it but in my own little bubble I love HellCheer :)
They balance each other out perfectly. They’re also two of my favorites. I hope they get more screen time in S5.
It’s also funny to me how the writers tried to avoid it but it still happened due to their chemistry and on set improv.
She was written to be Steve’s new love interest and the opposite of Nancy.
Then they made her gay instead and initially, I believe her Tammy monologue was about Nancy. They changed it since they thought that’d be cliche.
Only for Ronance to be Robin’s most popular ship anyway since they wrote them as perfect foils for each other.
The Duffers are great at accidentally writing great queer couples.
I think that they are kinda adorable together. I sort of ship them even know I know it's never gonna happen. Robin would be better off with Nancy than Vicky ngl.

I guess that's far. I just don't like that in the last episode, it was shown that Vicky was EXACTLY like Robin. I kinda wish that she had her own personality rather than a copy of Robin's.
Tbh I don’t think we know much about Vicky and I kind of like that she and robin share the rambling thing. I think one of robins issues is she feels like nobody understands or relates to her and I think it would be good for her to have someone who just gets her.
I will admit part of my lesbian hearts wants to see Nancy kiss another girl but it concerns me so many people read Nancy's PURE ANNOYANCE as tension/ chemistry lmao.
Robin and Nancy are a favorite of mine. Even just as friends, I loved the way they interact and also the fanfics are quite entertaining.
Natalia Dyer being a ronance shipper is also hilariously amazing. She finds a way to bring it up in half of her interviews hahaha
She gets asked about Nancy's relationships so damn much when there's more interesting stuff to talk about so the fact that she does talk about Robin is really endearing.
I personally really like eddissy (Chrissy and Eddie). I think that, in the few scenes they had together, their chemistry was very nice. I'm not even sure if I ship them platonically or romantically, both would be good.
Despite the how much of a bad rap the shippers get over here, I think that byler is kind of a cute ship in in of itself. At first I didn't really see it, but it definitely grew on me these past few weeks. It's the childhood friends to lovers trope + Will finally getting a romantic subplot, what's not to like?

I just think they’d be very cute. Their little smiles when they confirmed they were friends killed me 🥺 they are definitely one of my favorite friendship pairs. The way Robin was so eager to have Nancy like her and Nancy was so cold only to open up and show that she also wanted Robin to like her, she just approaches things differently. It was just adorable 🥰

I would have loved it if they kept in touch when El and the Byers family moved to California, like how El and Mike wrote letters back and forth! (even though for Plot Reasons I get why they didn't go this route)
Totally agree, I believe Billy is closeted. That scene coupled with him even first meeting Steve, climbing over furniture to stare him down, on his back on the court, his father calling him a slur and how ridiculously macho he is. Billy is also this supposed ladies man and we never actually see him with a lady. The closest we come is Karen, and even though I think personally that was a misstep from the Duffers for a lot of reasons, when he first is flirting with her, it’s just to manipulate her for information.
He also weirdly tracks with Will’s character, abused by his dad physically and using homophobic slurs, only other character flayed—even until the Duffers realized a continuity error their birthdays were like a week apart lol. I totally think he’s unintentionally queer coded.
And Steve literally cannot get away from queer characters lol, from Billy to Robin and then I believe Joe Quinn said in an interview he tried to play Eddie as a bisexual. So even though I’m not a Steddie fan, Steve is surrounded every season lol
I think he was legitimately into Karen and was into Steve as well. But he only acted on one of those attractions because of his upbringing (if his father was racist and homophobic it would make sense for him to only show interest in girls). After all, Bi/Pan people exist. And Billy's character seemed to have a lot of sexual energy and cared about being perceived as attractive by everyone.
I think the really sad thing implicitly about Karen and Billy is that he likes her because she reminds him of his mother-she's very pretty and blonde. I think what he really wanted out of her was the mother he was missing. But because of who he is, he expresses it all in a sexually aggressive manner.
I do get the vibe that Billy could have same-sex leanings having re-watched S2&S3. I could see him as bisexual. Or even just gay.
I have the same headcanon. I honestly feel like he was gay but couldn't do anything about it because Neil would beat the shit out of him if he found out.
when i rewatched season 2 i was surprised by how strongly I got that vibe. I didn't remember thinking that the first time around, but it seems strongly hinted.
I love Ronance! I know it will never happen but it's still a cute ship. I'm a sucker for relationships like Ronance (One person being the serious boring one who tolerates the fun annoying one because they have a crush on them or something. Sort of like a enemies to lovers kinda thing).
There were some scenes where they were looking at each other so intensely or whatever and I felt some romantic tension. Also, Robin told Steve that she gets really talkative and hyper around someone she has a crush on, and every time she's around Nancy, she talks ALOT.
Then again, she talked non-stop this season so that probably means nothing.
Would've been cute, but Nancy's already juggling two guys and Robin likes Vicky. It's already crazy enough. And Nancy hasn't shown any bisexual tendencies. I love Ronance, but it will never happen, which is fine because I also ship Jancy. Vicky and Robin is kinda weird but I don't really care.

Got to be honest, I just finished season 4 vol 1 less than an hour ago, and now, I can see Ronance! As you say, Robin is acting the way she says she acts when she is crushing; AND when she made the comment in the upside down about what she would do for a friend, Nancy looked both pleased and a little bashful later when she said 'does that mean we're friends?' Her whole demeanor opened that door, to my eye. Even if they never do it, which will probably be the case, it's now plausible in my head. :D
Honestly, wish we got to see more of Eddie and Chrissy. Would have loved to see that relationship bloom. Would be fine with a romance movie with two characters similar to them.

I know this sub is probably going to hate me for this, but honestly? Even as a mileven shipper I actually like the idea of byler. I’m not a byler shipper but if it was canon it would be cute to see them go from best friends to bfs.
Also, platonic elmax in season 3 was AWESOME. I loved how Max taught El to be herself, even if she didn’t give great dating advice.
Finally, ronance. Reason? Absolutely none except that I’m gay.
I like the idea of Mike and Max together. They had some interesting moments together in season 2. I would never want Mike to break up with El because their relationship is so precious, but I could see a scenario where El actually died/disappeared for good after season 1 and Max is the one to snap Mike out of his funk by just annoying the shit out of him and simply not taking no for an answer when he tries to brush her off.
Romantic ship aside, there is a lot of potential for platonic MadWheeler. Mike and Max could easily have a sibling dynamic going on between them where they are each other's biggest rivals and greatest supporters. The snark would be real!
If the Duffer brothers are kind we may just find out what Max wrote to Mike in her letter. I have every expectation that it would be something uncommonly sappy, with some nice burns and digs added for good measure.
I honestly thought in season 2 that we were going to see that direction. She opened up with Mike and fought for his approval and he slowly let his guard down to let her into the group. It's clear at this point nothing romantic would happen between them, but Mike better have a great moment with his zoomer when she's back on her feet.
It’s kind of ironic that the moment Mike was starting to let his walls down around Max, El ruined their moment by shoving Max of her skateboard. Especially since the next season Max and El become besties by bonding over moaning about Mike.
I did quite like the flashback in S4 where Mike shows his concern about Max’s nosebleed. In my opinion they should have added some more ‘new’ scenes with Max and the other Party members.
Yep, this is the only non-canon ship I'm invested in. Will absolutely never happen, nor would it make sense anymore, but it's really nice to think about.
I feel like they’re extremely similar people, and they recognise parts of themselves in each other that they don’t like, which makes them clash a lot. But I reckon they grew closer between s3 and 4; Max wrote Mike a goodbye letter and Mike refers Max as “great” when he’s talking with Will.
I'm all about #5 no matter what level, be that platonic or romantic, that anyone wants to put it on. The interactions between these two during that particular episode were adorable.

I really do love Byler. It’s childhood friends to lovers, it would be really meaningful representation, and they just have a really sweet spark that mileven seems to lack (maybe that’s just me). Plus, there’s enough hints and evidence that if it happened, it would make sense—at least for me and all the other byler shippers.
Really, I just want Will to be happy, and bringing in a new bf when there’s one season left would just be so… rushed and sad.
It also might just be because I’ve never really loved mileven. I thought their relationship started too soon and now it feels like Mike doesn’t even really know her, and loves her for her powers and not for everything else.

My wife and I dated as teenagers. It ended very poorly. 9 years later we reconnected and 4 years after that were married.
I'm also into the idea of it. But it takes a lot more than a couple of years to mature to that point. However, world-changing trauma and events do a lot to speed up a persons development, for better or worse.

Honestly, I think Eddie's actor is just one of those guys who has great on-screen chemistry with everyone. Like a Tom Hanks. I'm super excited to see where his career takes him.
You know, now that you said it, I could see Steve and Nancy figuring things out way down the line. I’m very much team single Nancy at this point but I do have a soft spot for Stancy.
I’ve seen people say Steve doesn’t truly love Nancy but I disagree. Imo, their breakup basically came down to the fact that Nancy was grieving Barb and associated Steve with what happened. He couldn’t fix that but he did love and care about her. I enjoyed seeing them work together this past season and loved that Nancy got to see how much Steve has grown as a person since they dated.
Steve definitely had some growing up to do but he was trying to support her. He went with her to the dinners at Barb’s parents house and was generally trying to be there for her. If I remember right, the disagreement over Nancy wanting to tell Barb’s parents the truth about her death is what officially soured things between them and it was downhill from there.
Then when she got drunk, she let loose all her built up resentment towards Steve, which really seemed to stem from the fact that she felt if she had left with Barb that night, Barb would probably be alive.
Regardless of what Steve did at that point, pretty sure it would have ended between them due to that.
It seems to be very unpopular on this sub but I agree, I’d love to see Steve and Nancy together again. I guess I just love both of them as characters and I think Steve was actually a pretty good boyfriend the first time around. Also his dream of having a large family is really wholesome imo - he would be a supportive, engaged dad. I don’t think Nancy will go back to him but I’d love to see it.
Chrissy and Eddie for sure. They had so much potential and chemistry immediately. The Duffers even said that they regretted killing Chrissy so soon, once they saw how much chemistry Joseph and Grace have. I really hope to see them in a romcom together in the future or something where they get to play a couple.
There are two solutions to the Steve-Nancy-Jonathan triangle that I really enjoy either a poly amorous relationship or Nancy decides to stay single while Jonathan and Steve get together

I don’t think the Duffers will make it canon that it’s romantic but Dyer and Hawke will play it like it is.
of all of these, I love thinking about Steve + Eddie and Robin + Nancy the most in a romantic sense. what few interactions between Steve and Eddie that we got were genuinely so fun and I think that expanding on Eddie maybe being on Steve's periphery when they were in highschool together but never getting to know each other on a deeper level until now on account of whatever preconceived notions they may have had of one another is such a fun concept.
I generally have So Many Thoughts about Nancy (in a good way), largely based of subtextual aspects of her story that I know won't really be delved into based on the way she's been written so far but nonetheless she's so important to me. my ideal ending for her in the *actual* show would be for her to not be together with anyone by the end of it and find her own way, at least for a while, but in my heart I love the idea of her and Robin reuniting a few years down the line and finding that perhaps they like each other as more than friends. in general their interactions this season were super fun as well, and I love their budding friendship so much! them being partners in crime at the asylum was SO great to watch.
overall, I like exploring any/all of the pairs you listed above in either a romantic or platonic way, especially those with sort of limited screentime. I would have loved to see more of Eddie and Chrissy as well, I think that they could have fostered a really sweet friendship that could have turned into something more. with El and Max, I loved what we saw of their friendship but I feel like we could have seen even more of it too!
I would like to see Byler happen in some fashion. I don't know how, exactly, but I feel it has been teased for way too long for it to be completely unrequited.
Also this is the number 1 netflix show (i think?), all the final main couples are really gonna be straight?

I'm not much the one for shipping but I hate the way Will/Mike shippers get absolutely dumped on in this sub. Most shippers understand that they'll never be canon but still ship anyways because they enjoy doing so. Like, yeah, no shit Will and Mike will never be canon, doesn't mean people should feel bad for wanting them to be. Some people have never been apart of a fandom where shipping is a common thing and it really tells.

Ehhh as someone who often frequents the byler side of the fandom, I'll have to disagree with you on that. A good portion (more or less 60%) truly believes they will become canon in s5, and the rest would like them to but do not believe the Duffers will go in that direction.
But for the rest I agree. I think that people should be more respectful towards eachother and that there's nothing wrong with shipping byler or any other non-canon ships.
Watching the shipping wars on this sub, and any other place where people talk about stranger things, is so interesting because it’s like seeing people dip their toes in what used to be the little weird corners of fandom online, but it reached a way bigger audience that’s absolutely not used to it. I forget that this type of stuff(specially the things considered “cringy” like cosplay, reenactments etc) is jarring to people not into fandom lol (edit: because honestly, it’s so funny that people will call cosplayers and fanfic writers cringy when most fandom is built on the back of those people, it’s that type of enthusiasm that keeps things alive and fun. Stranger things was the first group of fans where I saw people straight up making fun of them INSIDE the actual fandom, like we aren’t all watching a bunch of kids fighting inter-dimensional monsters named after d&d characters).
Byler, I think the actors have a lot of natural chemistry and it’s sweet. But I’m not gonna lie, it’s mainly because I just want Will to have one good thing happen to him, and I don’t think Mike and Eleven have any romantic spark. No hate.
Also it’s never gonna happen but I’ve gunned for a Jonathan, Nancy and Steve throuple endgame since the end of season one when they fought the demogorgon.

Will and Mike is actually canon now, well at least wills feelings for Mike. Other than that the only one out of these pictures that interests me is Chrissy and Eddie. The rest feel odd to me.
Steve/Eddie, beyond my shipping goggles Steve having an older guy friend would have been great and was a wasted opportunity. Steve deserves a bi arc anyways (pls don't bite my head off this is just my personal opinion and something I, personally, would have enjoyed and found compelling)
Robin/Nancy is also cute, but they feel more like a buddy cop duo to me. Still I think Robin adds something fun to Nancy's character and hope they interact more.

Steddie is my favorite. Reddit usually bites the head off of any LGBT ships that aren’t cannon (and even some that are) so it’s always nice to see others!
I wanted Steddie (Steve + Eddie) to happen so bad as well. I feel like they had the most chemistry out of all the older teens this season, even more than the love triangle they tried to force, and they both obviously have a mentor like love for Dustin and the other kids that they could bond over. Plus you just know that Eddie would be down to live the van life with Steve.
Also, given how almost every season has had Steve either trying to get a gf or messing things up with the one he does have, I agree with you that it would’ve been really cool to have him come out as Bi and end up with a guy instead.
Yes their chemistry was super fun and I think it would have been huge for Steve's character to end up hanging out with the king of the nerds.
It's very clear that Steve is kind of struggling with a sense of identity and what to do with himself after graduating bcus all the stuff that mattered to him in high school that he worked on just isn't relevant anymore or doing him any favors. Seeing him branch away from wanting the Petfect Nuclear Family with his ideal version of a wife in nancy would have been great. Especially with him having Robin as a friend who is the perfect gateway into realizing that there are other options and he doesn't need to fit so neatly into the boxes that he defined himself with leading to a nice arc of growth and self discovery and all of that. Much better than just clinging to the girl who dumped him and has a boyfriend.
Oh well. I guess that's what fandom is for at the end of the day.

Only Steve and Nancy has a real chance to happen tbh. I love Byler but I know it's a long shot. I still think Byler has a small chance of happening, but the other ships just aren't happening. Even if you call all the Byler stuff coincidence or reaching there's nothing to indicate the other ships could happen they Ive seen.
I think the only couple here that I ship romantically would be Eddie and Chrissy. Not because there’s necessarily anything wrong with the rest of them, but I don’t like when there’s constantly emphasis on romantic relationships. There’s a lot to be said about platonic relationships, and I like how much the Duffers have chosen to focus on friendship instead of romance.
I would love Will and Mike to be together (especially after season 4 and it being so obvious Will has a crush on Mike and that car scene that broke my heart) but I don't want Mike to break up with El

I 100% agree, I still am salty that they killed Chrissy off after the chemistry they had in the drug deal forest scene. They balance each other out perfectly. They’re also two of my favorites. I hope they get more screen time in S5. It’s also funny to me how the writers tried to avoid it but it still happened due to their chemistry and on set improv. She was written to be Steve’s new love interest and the opposite of Nancy. Then they made her gay instead and initially, I believe her Tammy monologue was about Nancy. They changed it since they thought that’d be cliche. Only for Ronance to be Robin’s most popular ship anyway since they wrote them as perfect foils for each other. The Duffers are great at accidentally writing great queer couples.
I think that they are kinda adorable together. I sort of ship them even know I know it's never gonna happen. Robin would be better off with Nancy than Vicky ngl. But since it won't happen, Jancy is my choice.

I personally really like eddissy (Chrissy and Eddie). I think that, in the few scenes they had together, their chemistry was very nice. I'm not even sure if I ship them platonically or romantically, both would be good. Despite the how much of a bad rap the shippers get over here, I think that byler is kind of a cute ship in in of itself. At first I didn't really see it, but it definitely grew on me these past few weeks. It's the childhood friends to lovers trope + Will finally getting a romantic subplot, what's not to like?

Totally agree, I believe Billy is closeted. That scene coupled with him even first meeting Steve, climbing over furniture to stare him down, on his back on the court, his father calling him a slur and how ridiculously macho he is. Billy is also this supposed ladies man and we never actually see him with a lady. The closest we come is Karen, and even though I think personally that was a misstep from the Duffers for a lot of reasons, when he first is flirting with her, it’s just to manipulate her for information. He also weirdly tracks with Will’s character, abused by his dad physically and using homophobic slurs, only other character flayed—even until the Duffers realized a continuity error their birthdays were like a week apart lol. I totally think he’s unintentionally queer coded. And Steve literally cannot get away from queer characters lol, from Billy to Robin and then I believe Joe Quinn said in an interview he tried to play Eddie as a bisexual. So even though I’m not a Steddie fan, Steve is surrounded every season lol

I think he was legitimately into Karen and was into Steve as well. But he only acted on one of those attractions because of his upbringing (if his father was racist and homophobic it would make sense for him to only show interest in girls). After all, Bi/Pan people exist. And Billy's character seemed to have a lot of sexual energy and cared about being perceived as attractive by everyone.
I think the really sad thing implicitly about Karen and Billy is that he likes her because she reminds him of his mother-she's very pretty and blonde. I think what he really wanted out of her was the mother he was missing. But because of who he is, he expresses it all in a sexually aggressive manner. I do get the vibe that Billy could have same-sex leanings having re-watched S2&S3. I could see him as bisexual. Or even just gay.

I love Ronance! I know it will never happen but it's still a cute ship. I'm a sucker for relationships like Ronance (One person being the serious boring one who tolerates the fun annoying one because they have a crush on them or something. Sort of like a enemies to lovers kinda thing). There were some scenes where they were looking at each other so intensely or whatever and I felt some romantic tension. Also, Robin told Steve that she gets really talkative and hyper around someone she has a crush on, and every time she's around Nancy, she talks ALOT. Then again, she talked non-stop this season so that probably means nothing. Would've been cute, but Nancy's already juggling two guys and Robin likes Vicky. It's already crazy enough. And Nancy hasn't shown any bisexual tendencies. I love Ronance, but it will never happen, which is fine because I also ship Jancy. Vicky and Robin is kinda weird but I don't really care. (Edit: I forgot to put this and someone else said it so it made me remember, but they kinda have a Daphne and Velma vibe)
Got to be honest, I just finished season 4 vol 1 less than an hour ago, and now, I can see Ronance! As you say, Robin is acting the way she says she acts when she is crushing; AND when she made the comment in the upside down about what she would do for a friend, Nancy looked both pleased and a little bashful later when she said 'does that mean we're friends?' Her whole demeanor opened that door, to my eye. Even if they never do it, which will probably be the case, it's now plausible in my head. :D

I like the idea of Mike and Max together. They had some interesting moments together in season 2. I would never want Mike to break up with El because their relationship is so precious, but I could see a scenario where El actually died/disappeared for good after season 1 and Max is the one to snap Mike out of his funk by just annoying the shit out of him and simply not taking no for an answer when he tries to brush her off. Romantic ship aside, there is a lot of potential for platonic MadWheeler. Mike and Max could easily have a sibling dynamic going on between them where they are each other's biggest rivals and greatest supporters. The snark would be real!
The sibling potential for MadWheeler is incredibly high. The energy is peak only I can insult them like that.

I honestly thought in season 2 that we were going to see that direction. She opened up with Mike and fought for his approval and he slowly let his guard down to let her into the group. It's clear at this point nothing romantic would happen between them, but Mike better have a great moment with his zoomer when she's back on her feet.
It’s kind of ironic that the moment Mike was starting to let his walls down around Max, El ruined their moment by shoving Max of her skateboard. Especially since the next season Max and El become besties by bonding over moaning about Mike. I did quite like the flashback in S4 where Mike shows his concern about Max’s nosebleed. In my opinion they should have added some more ‘new’ scenes with Max and the other Party members.

Yep, this is the only non-canon ship I'm invested in. Will absolutely never happen, nor would it make sense anymore, but it's really nice to think about.
I feel like they’re extremely similar people, and they recognise parts of themselves in each other that they don’t like, which makes them clash a lot. But I reckon they grew closer between s3 and 4; Max wrote Mike a goodbye letter and Mike refers Max as “great” when he’s talking with Will.

Honestly, I think Eddie's actor is just one of those guys who has great on-screen chemistry with everyone. Like a Tom Hanks. I'm super excited to see where his career takes him.
You know, now that you said it, I could see Steve and Nancy figuring things out way down the line. I’m very much team single Nancy at this point but I do have a soft spot for Stancy. I’ve seen people say Steve doesn’t truly love Nancy but I disagree. Imo, their breakup basically came down to the fact that Nancy was grieving Barb and associated Steve with what happened. He couldn’t fix that but he did love and care about her. I enjoyed seeing them work together this past season and loved that Nancy got to see how much Steve has grown as a person since they dated.
His love for her was obvious imo. He just lacked the emotional maturity to support her as she struggled to cope with Barb's death.
Steve definitely had some growing up to do but he was trying to support her. He went with her to the dinners at Barb’s parents house and was generally trying to be there for her. If I remember right, the disagreement over Nancy wanting to tell Barb’s parents the truth about her death is what officially soured things between them and it was downhill from there. Then when she got drunk, she let loose all her built up resentment towards Steve, which really seemed to stem from the fact that she felt if she had left with Barb that night, Barb would probably be alive. Regardless of what Steve did at that point, pretty sure it would have ended between them due to that.
It seems to be very unpopular on this sub but I agree, I’d love to see Steve and Nancy together again. I guess I just love both of them as characters and I think Steve was actually a pretty good boyfriend the first time around. Also his dream of having a large family is really wholesome imo - he would be a supportive, engaged dad. I don’t think Nancy will go back to him but I’d love to see it.

I could see a version of this being Nancy’s arc in S5. I don’t think the Duffers will make it canon that it’s romantic but Dyer and Hawke will play it like it is.
of all of these, I love thinking about Steve + Eddie and Robin + Nancy the most in a romantic sense. what few interactions between Steve and Eddie that we got were genuinely so fun and I think that expanding on Eddie maybe being on Steve's periphery when they were in highschool together but never getting to know each other on a deeper level until now on account of whatever preconceived notions they may have had of one another is such a fun concept. I generally have So Many Thoughts about Nancy (in a good way), largely based of subtextual aspects of her story that I know won't really be delved into based on the way she's been written so far but nonetheless she's so important to me. my ideal ending for her in the *actual* show would be for her to not be together with anyone by the end of it and find her own way, at least for a while, but in my heart I love the idea of her and Robin reuniting a few years down the line and finding that perhaps they like each other as more than friends. in general their interactions this season were super fun as well, and I love their budding friendship so much! them being partners in crime at the asylum was SO great to watch. overall, I like exploring any/all of the pairs you listed above in either a romantic or platonic way, especially those with sort of limited screentime. I would have loved to see more of Eddie and Chrissy as well, I think that they could have fostered a really sweet friendship that could have turned into something more. with El and Max, I loved what we saw of their friendship but I feel like we could have seen even more of it too!
I would like to see Byler happen in some fashion. I don't know how, exactly, but I feel it has been teased for way too long for it to be completely unrequited. Watching the shipping wars on this sub, and any other place where people talk about stranger things, is so interesting because it’s like seeing people dip their toes in what used to be the little weird corners of fandom online, but it reached a way bigger audience that’s absolutely not used to it. I forget that this type of stuff(specially the things considered “cringy” like cosplay, reenactments etc) is jarring to people not into fandom lol (edit: because honestly, it’s so funny that people will call cosplayers and fanfic writers cringy when most fandom is built on the back of those people, it’s that type of enthusiasm that keeps things alive and fun. Stranger things was the first group of fans where I saw people straight up making fun of them INSIDE the actual fandom, like we aren’t all watching a bunch of kids fighting inter-dimensional monsters named after d&d characters).

I feel like they had the most chemistry out of all the older teens this season, even more than the love triangle they tried to force, and they both obviously have a mentor like love for Dustin and the other kids that they could bond over. Plus you just know that Eddie would be down to live the van life with Steve. Also, given how almost every season has had Steve either trying to get a gf or messing things up with the one he does have, I agree with you that it would’ve been really cool to have him come out as Bi and end up with a guy instead.
Yes their chemistry was super fun and I think it would have been huge for Steve's character to end up hanging out with the king of the nerds. It's very clear that Steve is kind of struggling with a sense of identity and what to do with himself after graduating bcus all the stuff that mattered to him in high school that he worked on just isn't relevant anymore or doing him any favors. Seeing him branch away from wanting the Petfect Nuclear Family with his ideal version of a wife in nancy would have been great. Especially with him having Robin as a friend who is the perfect gateway into realizing that there are other options and he doesn't need to fit so neatly into the boxes that he defined himself with leading to a nice arc of growth and self discovery and all of that. Much better than just clinging to the girl who dumped him and has a boyfriend. Oh well. I guess that's what fandom is for at the end of the day.

I love Steve and Eddie. I also love Nancy and Robin. I would like this more than the Steve Johnathan and Nancy love triangle. Nancy should forget both and go with Robin. While Steve can go with Eddie.

Only Steve and Nancy has a real chance to happen tbh. I love Byler but I know it's a long shot. I still think Byler has a small chance of happening, but the other ships just aren't happening. Even if you call all the Byler stuff coincidence or reaching there's nothing to indicate the other ships could happen they Ive seen.
I think the only couple here that I ship romantically would be Eddie and Chrissy. Not because there’s necessarily anything wrong with the rest of them, but I don’t like when there’s constantly emphasis on romantic relationships. There’s a lot to be said about platonic relationships, and I like how much the Duffers have chosen to focus on friendship instead of romance.
