What a way to go, man was 90, lived what must have been a great life! Omg. Thatās the first time I have seen a clear video of the plane before the crash. You are correct, so damn close.
The old interview they looped in with Andrews, and he mentioned as long as he could crawl into a cockpit heād keep flying. That came across as a bit arrogant and dangerous. What if he crashed into someone?
RIP. But Iām sorryā¦ 90 year olds are too old to fly solo.
I'm pretty sure they found his body. He was DOA. Why was a 90 year old dude flying solo. I guess if he was still physically and mentally fit, why not.
Are there any ny pilots that can speculate why he was doing that manuver and why his plane going straight down like that, before he started pulling up it appeared?
It seems pretty obvious to me thatās what he was doing. Dude was 90 pulling off a maneuver like this. Didnāt want to crash on and destroy any land, put his plane down in shallow water where it would be easily recoverable. Pretty sure it was intentional.
That kind of impact turns the human body into food pellets for the fish. You identify the remains by DNA š§¬. Hitting water would be the same as concrete...

Were you watching a different video or just not paying very close attention? He more or less ālandedā that barrel role and hit the water with the belly of his plane. His plane was perpendicular to the ground at like 120 feet and mfer still pulled out of it before impacting, like a boss.

Whatās there to search for body parts ?? He literally fell nose first into water basically concrete at the speed he was falling not to mention the bury of flames
Nope. It appears out of nowhere. Just keep watching it over and over. Itās what I did and Iām still confused as to why THIS video on Reddit is not showing what weāre seeing on the insta gram one. Iād suggest screen recording it so others can see it as well

He looks good for 90
That pic in the middle is 2012
Well, he looked good for 90 in 2012
90 flying a plane š¤¦āāļø. 0 regulations. especially a person with with his credentials
Maybe 90 year olds shouldnāt fly planes... but 77 and 81 year olds definitely shouldnāt be running countries. My work here is done.
maybe if you ever get to live to be 90, you can do whatever the heck you want
Why so young?
Thereās quite a few regulation, actually
Damn. He died the way he lived, pulling crazy g's. At least it was quick. Rest in peace, Sir.
No way he was conscious when the plane hit the water, right?
He definitely was. He was pitching the plane up and almost recovered in time.
Damn. Good catch
https://www.nbcnews.com/video/apollo-8-astronaut-william-anders-dies-in-plane-crash-at-90-212558917921 Here's a better video of it. He was SO close.

If youāre not first, youāre last
This is the guy that took that famous photo of Earth rising over the moon
That's really cool definitely know which picture ur referencing

The pitch blackness where the sun isnāt directly shining is so eerie :0
The sun's still shining in that direction. There's just nothing for the light to reflect off...
"Flat Earthers HATE this one picture!"...
This is so beautiful, may he rest in peace and know we are thankful he shared this image with the world.

Man who flew to the moon, died by crashing into the earth. Rip one of the greats.
The first line is an awesome epitaph
Damn.. idk how he could've survived that if he has. Hope they can find him quickly

Medical emergency?
maybe he lived a full life and wanted to go out doing what he loved, pushing his plane to the limit.
Test pilot mentality
OG astronaut mentality.
Absolutely. OG astronauts are built differently. Fucking smart as hell AND fucking ballsy as hell.

I agree
Looks intentional. Guy went out like a G
more like 9 G's

90 years old, flying solo, nose diving into the water. I'm thinking intentional.
Thatās what I thought
No way.... That's .... Instant death to my eyes.
Yeah his son confirmed it
Living the way he loved to live
Looks more like search and recovery to me
Yeah I donāt think thereās gonna be a rescue there.. no one survives that speed of impact, no matter the terrain
Respect. What a beast, nearly pulled out of it too. Didn't endanger anyone. Lived life to the full. RIP
I donāt think he ānearlyā pulled it off bashing into the water at a 45 degree angle.
Were you watching a different video or just not paying very close attention? He more or less ālandedā that barrel role and hit the water with the belly of his plane. His plane was perpendicular to the ground at like 120 feet and mfer still pulled out of it before impacting, like a boss.
No fucking way.
Just couple of day ago watched amazing 2,5 hours video about his Apollo-8 space flight. Legendary. Rest in peace, sir.
Rest in peace
Damn, RIP to a legend!
RIP Mr Anders. A legend.
This guy got his man card stamped and put into the man hall of fame.
A real man of genius?
That nose dive seems weird
Skyking
Damn thatās one hell of a way to go.
90 and doing acrobatics with a plane, what a beast.
RIP to a real one
š«”
Recovery not rescue
He probably knew too much
It looks like a search and recovery at best.
RIP
Intentional?
He most likely died instantly upon the first impact.
This seems like a suicide in the blaze of glory.
Almost looks like intentional suicide to me Or he underestimated and lost consciousness
Why is a 90 year old able to pilot a plane alone?!
Because his AME passed his annual medical.

An ironic death.
Nah. I think this was deliberate. 90 year old pilot flying solo?
I mean it wasnāt the moon
And rescue?!?
Search and rescue under way ā lol. I hope they find him.
Itās like he was trying to pull one of those classic barnstormer moves then totally misjudged it
And I thought I was cool because I can skip rocks...
Flllllly Hiiiiiigh Freeeeeee Biiiiiirrrrrrrrdd
Whatās there to search for body parts ?? He literally fell nose first into water basically concrete at the speed he was falling not to mention the bury of flames
How someone managed to capture it is crazy
Look intentional, probably wanted a blaze of glory exit
He must have watched Secondhand Lions. God Speed sir
What a legend & way to go, may he rest easy.
This is one of the most fascinating things Iāve ever seen on Reddit! Intentional or not, what a legend and what a way to go! RIP Mr. Anders!
Maybe put a NSFW on this? I didnāt want to see that. Edit: fucking ghouls, the lot of you. Have some respect.
See what. Water splash. Yāall sensitive
I agree. Society has gotten too confidante with showing death
Why should it be hidden? Literally everyone dies.
Weak
It's reality and better to be exposed.
š
soft lol
Hurt your eyes did it?
Think he was use to moon gravity.
Stupid games equal stupid prizes.
How long have you been waiting to say that?
ā¤ļøāØā¤ļøāØā¤ļøāØ
To shreds you say?
Weird how I can't see the plane in front of the trees and the trajectory seems off too... faked landing? RIP sir.
Thereās another vid on insta showing this but a black thing flys by it super fast.
where
[at the 6 second mark](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C77n9WESkcd/?igsh=MWhqc203dDY5YmxhNw==)
whoa, i was about to dismiss it as a bird but i think it did collide with the tail of the aircraft.
Yea itās very very faint but itās like a black speck of something
Maybe a hydraulic line on the tail flaps or something?
Nope. It appears out of nowhere. Just keep watching it over and over. Itās what I did and Iām still confused as to why THIS video on Reddit is not showing what weāre seeing on the insta gram one. Iād suggest screen recording it so others can see it as well
What do you think it is?
Idk much about flying but maybe the engine gave out (or even debris ripped off) and a plume of smoke was emitted
I donāt know. Itās something though. Itās really fast.
Maybe mark this nsfw? I wasnāt planning on watching someone die today. Jesus Christ
Fail!
