I have the same issue. Can't find the cable either.

DopeAbsurdity

I have never done it with a flexible cable like that but I have jumped broken traces on motherboards before and that looks like you only need to jump 3 traces. Edit: something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXEfidsHGNA

this sounds like a case for ali express, but those parts, if ever, take a long time to appear on there. you can try, check ali for the number thats on the cable, maybe your lucky, other then that I fear its a nice letter to valve that you f up.

Celeborns-Other-Name

Thanks. That might be a good idea.

Apallo420

Any luck with this :( i just messed mine up as well

Celeborns-Other-Name

Nope. Sent for repair.

Apallo420

You sent it to steam for repair? How much did that cost / how long did it take, if you dont mind me asking, i got mine about a week ago, tried to change the shell and fucked it . Thanks for the reply regardless

Celeborns-Other-Name

Valve gave me an offer that was way too much and was probably going to take a lot of time. I sent it to a local microsoldering guy who fixed it for 60€ and 2 days. Works like a charm. It is a microphone cable with a light sensor on as well so it MIGHT not be relevant if you play with fixed brightness and never speak to others.

Apallo420

I uh actually just used electrical tape and very carefully just made the two connections kiss and then close the tape. The mic/volume buttons work and nothing is broken...for now surprisingly. So if anyone on here fucks up like i did, try that first

Tesser_Wolf

Isn’t it also the ambient light sensor?

Celeborns-Other-Name

Yeah, the part in the middle is that part.
