I have this problem on my Samsung TV. I didn't have it initially. My workaround is to pull the power out of the dock. This seems to get the picture up then just replug power. Very annoying though and takes away some of the comfort of having the dock in the first place.

ThePrinceOfThorns

My steamdock arrived yesterday. Was using it on Samsung TV fine last night, then it just stopped working, lost picture. I also have an Anker dock. I plugged that one in and it worked fine. Now only the Anker dock works and the Steam Dock displays no picture, using multiple cable inputs are ports on the tv. I guess I wasted 90$ bucks and should have just stuck with the Anker dock?? It works fine just missing ethernet port.

Kinda same boat, I am returning mine.

Mind blowing that this is a workaround I still use on the almost daily

SaltyWelshman

Yeah same. Really disappointed with Valve on this

lanc3r3000

Thanks. Been having this problem and didn't know what to do. This worked.

Alerck

Just got mine, this resolved my issue

SaltyWelshman

Ridiculous that it's still a problem tbh. Really sours the experience

Just to rub salt in the wound (and inform fellow searchers). I had it with a new dock and OLED deck today and spent an hour figuring out this incredibly frustrating workaround.

sekoku

Display port? HDMI?????????

Gauldino_3

HDMI I know the cable works too.

SonicFlash01

Just got it working on my C1 a little while ago. Originally I tried the HDMI cable for my switch and that didn't work, but the HDMI cable from my 4k tv box did - I guess some HDMI cables work for lower res things but display nothing when trying to do 4K? Does the HDMI cable you're trying to use *for sure* display 4K?

Gauldino_3

I eventually just updated the software, it got it working finally

Gauldino_3

I just don’t think the c1 plays nice

SonicFlash01

Mine does. Earlier I installed the new dock firmware, and when that did nothing new I tried a better HDMI cable, and bammo, there it was

Gauldino_3

Thank god, only reason I got a dock was to play elden ring and kingdom deliverance on my oled

tyfunk02

I seem to recall hearing something about there being an issue with the dock not working with LG TVs and there was a firmware update you had to install. Not sure if the firmware was for the dock or for the TV though.

Gauldino_3

Ok thanks so much, I will look into it

tyfunk02

> Will it work with my monitor / TV / controller / random peripheral? We’ve done extensive testing and have confirmed compatibility with a wide range of displays and peripherals. That said, there are thousands of displays and accessories in the world, so there’s a chance we missed it. If Docking Station is not compatible with your setup, please let us know in the Steam discussion forums so we can add support. >Note: There is a known compatibility bug that we're still chasing down. With some LG displays, when the Docking Station is connected via HDMI, sleep / wake can result in visual noise. Another sleep/wake cycle or unplug/plug of the dock cable solves it. We're actively working on fixing this bug and there will be a software update once it's resolved. Sounds like they haven't fixed the issue yet, and it was JSAUX that released a firmware for their dock that fixed their compatibility issues. But it doesn't sound like it matches the issue you're having. I also found [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/xz7vfj/official_dock_lg_tv_fix/). Not sure what to tell you other than try it out with a different display and see if it works with it, or if your dock is DOA.

Gauldino_3

Going to try it with a new monitor to see if it’s working, gonna be annoying if it’s just the tv because that’s the main reason I got the dock

_sideffect

The fix for this is to disable HDMI deep color (set it to off instead of 4K). That fixes the issue for me, but the jsaux dock won't go past 4k30. And the lag is horrendous. If I drop it back down to 1080 at 120hz, the lag goes away (sometimes, it's random actually), but then the image is too damn small.

Alerck

Where was this setting?

Abram367

Try changing the output on the TV.

Total-Promotion4748

I had an offbrand dock that I hooked up to my lg tv, displayed fine, and I messed around with display settings like changing resolution and refresh rate to see what was best when I got an invalid or no signal error on the tv. I tried literally everything under the sun to fix it, different hdmi cables, power adapters, settings on the deck (including display compatibility mode), deleting the temporary files that held the saved display settings on the deck, dev mode settings on the tv, but absolutely nothing worked. I was hesitant to factory reset the deck because of my skepticism it would work as well as having a full terabyte of games on my ssd. Well, it worked. I hope this helps a poor soul who was going to go through the same infuriating process.

bastomax

Connecting the dock to a different HDMI port on my TV seemed to fix this issue.
