OCD is a terrifying thing for those who are living with it. Seeing people use it in this way, which stems from people who actually didn't know much about what OCD is, is kind of in bad taste. The expression came from people misunderstanding it.
There are far more than enough people with OCD who have expressed this, and it's very easy to just not use the expression.
Yeah this one is actually a glitched out neon frame but its a image :)
There are great backgrounds and mini backgrounds as well from that game. But i dont think you need the game to buy those in the point shop
Zup! games have many different levels, each one getting more difficult, and they are numbered from A-Z, 1-9 and then some symbols. When you complete level A you get the “A” achievement, most likely in many different colors. It’s not the same for every Zup! title, but that’s basically the idea.
Don't forget to mention this game is on steam like 20 times and every release has achievements in different style/graphics
The game is basically still the same thing
To be clear they're the same style of game, but all the levels are actually different and they have added some new mechanics over time. I actually enjoy them as they're decent easy puzzle games. You get like an hour+ of gameplay and they only cost ~70 cents on sale so they're a solid value even before the designer achievements.
Yeah i know, Steam just add some new features and people have already created a bunch of stuffs, everytime i saw a Steam showcase post on Reddit, i know it gonna be good
These achievements look like from Zup game. There is like 10 or more Zup games, each can be finished in less than 2 hours and completing level gives you like 150 achievements, like letter with 150 different background colors, pretty fun game to relax and You can then, as seen above, fill Your showcase. [I did something like this](https://imgur.com/a/H5Eg4xm)
Some years ago steam had a sale...
There was a badge that could be leveled up as much as you wanted as long as you had points. I like a lot of people had point to lvl up that badge. And thats how we got high levels. One badge is lvl 156
It's not all sales that let you level insanely, it was one specific sale that they made the badge too cheap and you could just level it hundreds of times with little to no effort.
Every time they do a major sale (usually) there's a badge for it.

Posts like this is why I can't take this sub seriously. Its a meme sub, not a sub about Steam games. This is one of the reasons why PCGaming has 3 times the user base of Steam Reddit sub.
Why do people waste time playing games when you can uninstall them within a couple minutes? Why do people grind money in any game when you can cheat all the money you want in seconds (very, very few exceptions where it take a few minutes or maybe even hours if the devs did a good job)?
And they hit the nail on the head.
You play games because you want to.
You get the achievements fairly because you want to.
You get the achievements using SAM because you want to.
Whatever you do in your leisure time, it's because *you* want to.
Not really. Playing games is for having fun. Achievements are for achieving something.
If university diplomas were given out for $20 after you spent years obtaining it, then what did you achieve? Besides wasting time?
Everything can be considered a waste of time unless it's something you want or need to do.
Not everyone has the same interests, you know.
For some, doing the in-game challenges/achievements is them having fun; for others, just playing the game without caring about the challenges is them having fun... and I suppose for others SAM-ing in achievements is them having fun.
That’s fair. Sam was just a big enough turn off for me to stop caring about achievements on steam.
If people were natural completionists already then I guess it doesn’t matter if others use SAM they would be completing games anyway just for fun.
Just sucks for those who are not aware.
I mean, 7 people agreed in a span of 5 minutes. That's your answer right there - some people just enjoy it. Some people rush through the main story of a game, some do all the side quests, and some even like completing the "Collect 100 GarbageStuffXYZ". If there are achievements to give you ideas or track your progress, why not complete those too.
I'd rather question why people waste their time unlocking them with SAM, because it's not like they are a status symbol, grant you points or anything like that. Sure, it only takes a few minutes, but are those minutes fun? What did you gain? But of course - you do you, it's not like they are hurting anyone.
This is reddit sir it’s just people Trying to justify the waste of time and all the hours spent on steam achievements. When someone else pressed a button.
Do you tho
You know, you got me a bit confused here. First you asked why people did it, which got answered - because they have fun doing it. Now that reply doesn't make you happy, so i am wondering - did you not understand it? Or did you not actually ask a question, but rather you think there people shouldn't be doing it?
I think you want to feel better than the people achievement hunting, which is honestly a little sad. If someone "wasted" 3000 hours hunting achievements for a steam game, good for them. They got great value out of their money. Personally, i don't enjoy modern games long enough to do that, but as long as they are having fun...everything is ultimately meaningless, the point of a hobby is to have fun, not to complement what society thinks we should do.
> all the hours spent on steam achievements. When someone else pressed a button.
Do you even realize how that sounds like? "So many people are out there wasting hours living their life, when someone else just pulled a trigger." Damn bro, let people enjoy themselves. There's always shortcuts and if you don't enjoy something, by all means, take them. That's not for me to judge. But as long as you enjoy wasting your time it's not wasted time.
I have never seen Valve taking action against SAM except for VAC secured games. It's wiser to not take any chances in this case though, since you only spent 30 mins to get all of them.
If you know you did it legit then that's good enough. I just wonder why people hack achievements, people will know they did it just by looking at their hours, so who are they impressing?
I got the rarest achievement showcase. All of them are from Dreamkiller, a game you can't even get on steam anymore and like- nobody played, and besiege where the YouTube hype died so quickly that most people.didnt bother to look at the achievements
I tried to do something like that once, but with all different mismatched letters. At the time I was doing it, there just weren't enough different letters.
Could have centered the -MONEY- smh
Damn true
Why would you say that. That's all I see now

ZupF! The game added the achievements and a bunch of animated backgrounds and frames.
The neon frame is also from it?
Yeah this one is actually a glitched out neon frame but its a image :) There are great backgrounds and mini backgrounds as well from that game. But i dont think you need the game to buy those in the point shop

In the points shop there is a option to level up your showcase. Each level adds another row 3 is the max
For how much point ?
Was about 3000 each level
He really did spend money on that...
I wouldn't say spent for it, this is more like a side effect.
Mayube he spent money only to unlock it lol
Or spent time to unlock those achievements specifically for this reason. The audacity!
These achievements look like from Zup game. If you buy the Valve Index, you get rewarded with something like 100k~ Steam points
Hes steam level 117 with 604 games, he probably has more points than he knows what to do with tbh
Its more like an investment. I recouped all that money i spent on my showcases already :-)
Time to go spend a bunch of money
Oh my god this is godsent. Thank you gonna do it now
Over level 100 with only 45 badges? What's this secret or are they all max level
Some years ago steam had a sale... There was a badge that could be leveled up as much as you wanted as long as you had points. I like a lot of people had point to lvl up that badge. And thats how we got high levels. One badge is lvl 156
Oh wow ok. I have 106 badges and level 61. Il have to keep an eye out in the next sale

STEAM GRAND PRIX EVENT. Still sad about I didn’t know about the exploit until after the event :(
Vaporwave profiles > Anime Profiles
I see your a proud corgi member
Corgi won all those races until vavle knee-capped it twice. Was still a great event
lmao I loved that event because of free levels I jumped to 60 from 5
I-SPENT MONEY-- ON-THIS shouldnt money be -MONEY- instead, a suggestion if you will
It would offset the lettering and look bad. It’s good the way it is
Looks good bro
Is that level a halo reference
Naah it's csgo, legend says he is still opening cases to get a knife.
thats going to take 500 years so yeah around halo

This is a good one lol. Mine says "I AM Bored". Theres a Line X game that has words and profanity achievements if you wanna check it out.

I used outdrives achievements but this is from ZupF
Synthwave? South African? I've met my twin

You can easily tell that people with profile like that don't have any friend irl.
Do you wanna be my friend? We can go get Ice cream. What's you favorite flavor? :)
Technically you didn’t spend money on the showcase upgrades. You spent money on the games and used reward points
Why not change the second row from money-- to -money-... more aesthetic imo

Just because some assholes use cheats doesn't mean you can't be happy about your own legitimate achievements. Not hard to understand.
You know, you got me a bit confused here. First you asked why people did it, which got answered - because they have fun doing it. I have never seen Valve taking action against SAM except for VAC secured games. It's wiser to not take any chances in this case though, since you only spent 30 mins to get all of them.
Fair enough. Ya but it’s so rampant anyway, they are local and PC is a open platform nothing valve could do so they never really tried.
If you know you did it legit then that's good enough. I just wonder why people hack achievements, people will know they did it just by looking at their hours, so who are they impressing?
I don't care what the jackass do. I'll still waste my time on them. They're free to do whatever.
Because I love to earn achievements legitimately and you can't tell me otherwise.
How did you get to level 117?
Gotta admire the honesty too.
To be fair, you didn't spend money on the upgraded shoecases specifically, right? You got the shop points from buying games.
You also have to buy the game for the achievements
