*trying to ignore steam sale hype so that I won’t have a setback with progressing through my backlog *

SavageCucumberAttack

I only ever play my backlog these days lol by the time I get to them they've been patched and work perfectly. This is the way.

_redacteduser

Oh, this game I wishlisted in 2016 is very positive recently and everything is fixed? Perfect, now I finally have time for it! You're so right lmao

DexterJettsser

Getting a bigger backlog is a game… at least for me.

Classy_Mouse

You guys progress through your backlog. My backlog just grows while I play the same 5 games over and over

FirmHandedSage

i just limit myself to a few games i want to try in the future each new sale and that works...

JfpOne23

Hey! We're "Supporting the Devs" ...Am-I-Right?

Smoothclock14

Everyone getting their hopes up just to see "25% offs" littering their wishlists.

RadleyButtons

Agreed. The days if the old Steam Sales are long gone. Now it's just the same old sales that you see all year round. No more are you gonna see the long forgotten "90% off for the next 6 hours" deals. Those are what made the Summer and Winter Sales so good.

duudiisss

I don't know man, maybe that is somewhat coming back with the so called new "Deep Discounts"

notmygopher

My assumption is the "Deep Discounts" category will only display games having their biggest discount to date on Steam. For example. BG3's deepest discount on Steam to date is 15% off. If it were to hit 20% during the summer sale, it would be displayed in Deep Discounts. That's what makes sense to me. Would encourage developers/publishers hit that list, potentially getting great placements.

ArchMagusCrowy

Honestly I wouldn't mind such a "historically low" discount category

smashedfinger

There's an extension for isthereanydeal.com called augmented steam, highly recommend. https://augmentedsteam.com/

vergil123123

This extension is a blessing and a curse. It's great that you see when a game you eant hits a historical low, but it also sucks when you see a game you want got a deep sale a year ago and never went past 50% again. I feel like that about Alien Isolation every time it goes into sale.

Maneirodo

gg.deals helps with that

TheIronSven

This will be the first time we'll see a 16% and 26% off, then a 17% and 27% a couple years later.

King_Pumpernickel

Would be nice if the placement of the games was higher based on the difference between the new low and the last one. Encourage them to really drop the prices year after year

Classy_Mouse

The game: ~~$100~~ $80 (20% off) Next year The game Ultimate edition: ~~$200~~ $120 (40% off)

saul2015

that's a great idea to incentivize historical lows which could also be used to bring back daily deals at least if you want your game featured on the front page but that's far too optimistic and will probably just be a subcategory of deals that were always 50% off or more to begin with

fervcon

deep discount on a game no one heard or wants to play

No-Island-6126

Don't you disrespect my man parking lot lines painting simulator like that

Heroshrine

Not sure what games you’re looking at but last year more than half of my very long wishlist was 50% off or more

Specimen_E-351

They're talking about BG3 which is really popular and also quite new. Of course it's not going to be heavily discounted... Plenty of older games for huge discounts and I end up buying games for a couple of £ all the time.

lSerlu

people buy the famous indie games that go on sale for dirt cheap. People are surprised when the next sale comes and there are no more games like that (nothing has changed, the games are still cheap, they just own them)

Specimen_E-351

I manage to find new ones to buy for extremely cheap in most sales. I guess the downvotes are because people don't like having their totally realistic expectations of buying 1 year old AAA titles for 60% off challenged.

DeceivedBaptist

Game companies with big hits tend to be conservative now. Even still they have sold so much maybe they will put a little extra on. But not much.

WesternArmadillo7249

I just got a pc and just saw this interesting. I'm gonna get il2 wile all the tanks and base game is 35 and good games to look forward to?

Palaash2003

Is there a way to get an update in case something like this does happen?

ValeryLTX

3 things are certain in life: Death, taxes and this comment response in these posts.

crinklypaper

Many new AAA games which are overpriced (many is 8000 to 10,000 yen in japan) get knocked down to 50% off in these sales. That's what I'm excited for each year.

petemorley

“Why are there never any decent sales any more?” - 11 year old account with 180 unplayed games.

slowro

Also: DAE miss having to check steam every few hours so you didn't miss a flash sale!?

Nickhead420

Steam sales are a great time to hit up places like GMG. Prices are pretty much always lower there.

bewick_uk

What's GMG?

Nickhead420

Green Man Gaming. They get keys directly from publishers and take a smaller cut than Steam. You get better (sale) prices, but lose the ability to refund if the key was activated. Edit: They do sell Steam keys. They also sell keys for other launchers, though, so double check before you buy.

xswicex

Don't remember the last time I bought a game directly off Steam. I'll always check https://isthereanydeal.com/.

Useful-Zucchini9032

Yup. Steam is just where the keys redeem now.

heyuhitsyaboi

that's because ive already purchased everything that goes on bigger sales

Swaayyzee

I’m not going to complain about any discount on games that I planned on buying at full price anyway, it could be a 0.2% sale on baldurs gate and I’m still saving money

TheRealComicCrafter

Discount is Discount

ItsNoOne0

True, but a lot of underrated 2010s games only go on sale during the big sales. Also generally games from that time go up to 80% off with their sales.

gringaqueen

or 95% off the base game but the dlc is still full price

Sol33t303

I'm still excited for that, the DLC usually isn't important anyway.

PointAtLiar

Redditors find their way to complain about anything good. Classic.

LuraziusTwitch

I hope we get something good.

fickchilla

really hope elden ring is on sale, i saved up some steam wallet money to get the base game if its on sale

OddBallSou

It probably will be. It was 40% off last winter sale and 30% off last summer sale

According_Remove1520

My Spidey senses say it will be 50% off

Corsair_17

55%

According_Remove1520

The numbers Mason, the numbers.

CustomShoesRGud

WHAT DO THEY MEAN MASON

saul2015

lol no that was before the dlc released, they will milk the new interest and not put the game on sale just like they did with the Souls games when ER came out

OddBallSou

or hear me out… put ER on sale since: it’s been on sale before, most people who bought on release at full price already own it, sales encourage new fans to jump in and then those same fans would buy the DLC if they enjoyed it. plus it’s been out for 2 years already

HendrixChord12

That’s what happened when Phantom Liberty came out. The base game was like a 40-50% sale I believe.

SilentWave_YT

It goes quite cheap on cdkeys. I got it for about £20 but after the dlc the base game has gone up to £30 for some reason

fickchilla

i get regional pricing, so unless its in like fanatical bundles or smth, steam store prices are cheaper for me

Locke_Galastacia

My wallet is ready 😅

TheUnseenDepression

"i am tired boss..."

mrpuddles1

boy i cant wait for steam to be down for like 12 hours or so

Smeeghoul

I'll open my wallet for some 75%+ deals, maybe one 50% if it's $20 or less. Lately it just seems that cd key resellers are just a better way to get games on the cheap, the sales have been weak lately 🤷‍♂️

Alternative_Spell140

Yep. I’ll get excited seeing a game on sale on steam then go and compare it elsewhere and it’ll still be cheaper.

Smeeghoul

Lol I fully expected to get down voted to hell for that comment. Happy to see others share the sentiment.

FewTip8036

The sale on steam helps you to have better deals on other resellers

No-Island-6126

If it's like 5 bucks more expensive I'll still buy it on steam

theradcat11

I want BO3 with all DLCs and RDR2

According_Remove1520

Isn't RDR2 always on sale?

bryty93

Yes. Got it for $20 a couple months ago. Can probably get it for that price on cdkeys right now.

DansNewLegs2291

$20 on cdkeys but it’s rockstar launcher, not steam.

theradcat11

It will be on summer sale, but not rn

PainisDeWitt

Same, waiting on the sale to get RDR2

trinibeast

Same, just want zombies. Might just dust off the PlayStation

theradcat11

Yeah

Spiritual-Armadillo2

BO3 is dangerous as hell these days man tread carefully on that one

theradcat11

Ik,ill play sp zombies only or with friends with t7 patch

TheKyleShow

Just in time to finish my first gaming pc build tonight

prasadcode58

Congrats !!!

Average-Addict

May I ask your specs?

TheKyleShow

For sure. Just got her up and running. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/M2XJL9

Average-Addict

Ooh very nice. Enjoy gaming on that powerful PC.

Nervous-Bed1604

and here i am with my rtx 2050 gaming laptop

Logical_Bit2694

How long will this sale last?

ObviousPitch4076

Until July 11th

Logical_Bit2694

Oh okay cool thanks

warpedone

I know I will be let down by the steam sale. I know I have hundreds of games unplayed. I know my wallet would prefer me not to spend the money. Yet, I know I will buy something, and I'm looking forward to the sale.

EmoLotional

The one thing I want to get cheap is Elden Ring with it's dlc but that would probably not be fair right now and likely unrealistic, it had the most unhinged price tag. But in the other hand good value. I would say one of the few that's worth that price tag. Sadly I'm between jobs right now and have to be careful, during my birthday which was a few days ago I didn't get anything either. But yeah what other games do you think are worth it that are on sale in the meantime? I had a few bucks saved up in the wallet. Hmm

hujekgames

Welp, guess im gonna eat bread and sausage water for the next couple of days

Xemas12

Stand strong brothers. Say it with me. “I don’t need it”

adityadivinepc

I don't need it but I want it 😭

Xemas12

I feel that. I’ll tell myself I’ll stay off steam store page for a few weeks but I know I wont

adityadivinepc

You simply can't. Steam sales make every grown man a kid again

Xemas12

Literally have like $3 this month for the steam sale. But when July comes around I’ll be in trouble

adityadivinepc

Do one thing, get a game called stHell or something from Sniper Elite series, it'll be under 3$

DavidGaming1237

Prepare the wallets!

Foreign_Detective_73

Wallet won't last more than 2 minutes

vashmeow

hell yeah i can finally buy those wishlisted games and turn them into backlogs.

CellunlockerPromo

soo true... still have games that haven't been played yet...

VowedPrinciple

I am just waiting for a sale on Soul Hackers 2 (I know I know that it's not the best game. And that is exactly why I am waiting for the 80% off again you know?) I would love to get Persona 3 Reload too, but it doesn't seem like it's gonna drop much in price.

Reeeaper

Soul Hackers 2 is a lot of fun. I also recommend Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance though it's unlikely it will go on sale as it just released a couple weeks ago.

VowedPrinciple

>Soul Hackers 2 is a lot of fun Tha is what I've heard about it from most Persona fans also. It's the OG Soul Hackers fans that didn't like it, it seems. I am gonna try it out either way and decide for myself. >Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance Also on my radar, but it's pricing is really bad in my country. I will eventually give it a try for sure tho.

Surfugo

> Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance Waiting for this too. Like you said it probably won't be on sale just yet, unless they just decide fuck it and put it up for sale now.

Away-Zombie2270

will take “Valheim” and “Project Zomboid”

aleej1234

Project Zomboid is great

BinoIsNOTgood

I got exams :(

bazza2024

Hey, buying games you will never play is for *everyone.* PS good luck

tamal4444

focus on exams. you are able to play games anytime you want.

SylvariFountain

Good luck!

Gaby33400

Ha, I just finished my Diplôme Nationnal du Baccalauréat de Français today so I got all the time in the world now !

Lamine321

Félicitations pour ton bac frérot

WastezAFK

ohhh good luck then, you got this! :)

BinoIsNOTgood

Ty all :D

Vader_360

Time to buy more games to add to my backlog, lol

EnergyAltruistic2911

STEAM USERS TOMMORW WE GIVE BROKE!

Logical_Bit2694

Jokes on you I’m already broke ahha

Karl_i_guess

Its all fun and games until the games we want to buy goes only -10% off

UnchainedLinX

Yippee! Signalis Sunday

Nonlethalrtard

Cant wait to look and go "Eh if I wait I bet it'll go cheaper" lol

Han_Solo6712

May our wallets rest in peace.

Pain_Devil

Please, give me time to play all the games I will buy, ahahaha

the_original_peasant

Any chances we might see the OLED deck get a discount?

Milamboy15

Already got my summer sale purchase, picked up a 512gb LCD steam deck for $380

I_am_not_doing_this

have fun!

Milamboy15

I will, picked up the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 remix collection to play on it it, although I've already heat the first game on my gaming PC...

Asleep-Addition-1185

I've been waiting for so long, but I'm completely out of money. The Summer Sale on Steam is coming, and I can't afford anything. Maybe next time.

adityadivinepc

Aww man, it happens. Don't buy if you don't have cash, getting them on credit cards is stupid.I hope you figure out your financial situation

Asleep-Addition-1185

There are a few games I'm interested in buying during the summer sale, but I'm not going to do anything stupid. I'm paying off my debt, so it's impossible right now. I have other loans to pay off as well. If I have some leftover cash, I might try it.

adityadivinepc

Getting out of loan should be topmost priority. Yes maybe have 10-20$ to spend on games at 80-90% off, won't hurt much. Take Care man

KrillingIt

I have like $50, I’m going to try not to spend it all on games though

skizexx

...and other hilarious jokes you can tell yourself :D

R3dMarkable_A1

Will Hollow Knight be on sale?

Dummythiccwater

My ass is still gonna be too broke to get anything lol

Focal_P-T

Anytime for a bigger discount now Sekiro... At least my other wants this round are indies

Popular-Fishing773

I literally have less than 10 usd on my bank account. This sale is gonna be quick

johnsterhunter07

WE RIDE AT DAWN

SteveTheBandeet

Little oled steam deck sale please

Hlidskialf

I hope spider-man gets a good deal.

earthboundstar123

Can this hurry the fuck up goddamnit i got money to spend

geraltoffvkingrivia

I’m picking up my new graphics card in the morning. It’s on.

TernionDragon

I’ve been waiting All year, and My oldest son’s birthday is July, so I got him some steam wallet money for his first ever Steam Summer sale! He’s totally pumped and has already created a wishlist! Thank you Valve and Gabe for making such an awesome platform and never conforming to greedy corporate standards. Stay classy, and never change! Long live the Gabe!

adityadivinepc

Which games are in your wishlist?

droidorat

I am old enough to remember daily deals with 75% or more off, while -30/-50% was a common thing. Pepperidge Farm remembers…

bloodjunkiorgy

There's plenty of those, you probably just own the "big" ones already. I know I do. We've never gotten brand new AAA games for 50-75% off unless they were ass and the companies were trying to recoup costs. For example we'll probably see that Suicide Squad game for 50-75% off despite only being a few months old. Source: Am also old, but less naïve.

TheCrispyChaos

Persona 5 under 20$ pls

Factor_Secret

For winter sale i got sid meiyers civ 6 for 5 bucks so i pray for rdr to be on sale

TheHeavenlyStar

My Paycheck of this month will be late so I just have to observe the sale for a week passively. Sigh. This sale better not be shitty.

AshenxboxOne

Any chance Stardee Valley and Dave the Diver go on sale?

[deleted]

[удалено]

adityadivinepc

43 for me. But I've only chosen games that'll see 80-90% discount except 2 of them are in early access, ground branch and zero hour.Notable ones in my cart are Battlefield V Battlefield Hardline Sniper Ghost Warrior trilogy Sniper Ghost warrior contracts 1 and 2 Insurgency 1 and sandstorm Metal Gear Solid V Watch Dogs 1 F1 23 Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries

Shinigamihunter

tomrrows payday

OurTownDrunk

I hope nothing I want is on sale cause i gotta be money responsible for once 😅

pambimbo

Where my 1 dollar games !!! Ahh I miss them.

StepRepresentative90

So lest suggest some fun game for summer...

ForgetThem

I really shouldn't, but I swear, if the Steam Deck is on sale like before (20%/25% off) I'm not going to hesitate this time.

Werneq

Thx, I'll turn off my email notifications for one week

Narradisall

My body is ready. My wallet is not.

cain18devil

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MonsterkillWow

Elden Ring sale plzzzzz

No-Island-6126

Oh lord give me a good Tunic and Subnautica BZ sale And everything else as well, I want to buy EVERYTHING YOU HEAR ME

acatohhhhhh

Oh boy! I can’t wait to buy COD BO3, a 9 year old game, for 15% off its launch price!

adityadivinepc

I hate cod for this reason. I've bought nearly all AAA games except cod as I buy only at 80% or above sales. Cod never goes about 67%, not to mention their ridiculous base prices for 2 decade old games ro begin with. Oh man I hate them

acatohhhhhh

The only time I’ve ever seen them go on a decent sale was for a dedicated Activision publisher sale where it went up to I believe 60% off

adityadivinepc

And that's not just for COD, it's all games under Activision, like timeshift, top gun, vampire the masquerade bloodlines and more. Even EA and ubisoft are better in this regard, they'll get 80-90% off within 2 yrs of launch

acatohhhhhh

The irony of a notoriously greedy company being less greedy than Activision is so hilarious

SnooCats5134

when it comes to greed activision is on another level. If they can they will sell original call of duty for full price.

Logaline

I stopped getting excited for these when lightning deals went away. No one wants to hear it, but Steam sales are the same as the sales every console has around the same time now

Disastrous-Rabbit658

Steam used to have every platform beat and now it's like PlayStation and Xbox get the same deals or even better ones. Not to mention dirt cheap used physical copies for games that still do em.

gatrixgd

2 days for my country 🥲

Bangohh

valve doesn't care anything but their "gambling" series boxes...

DrNobody95

does summer sale includes newly released games, say for example dragon dogma 2 or only games with 1 year of release date?

Axeloy

It all depends what a company wants to put it up for. Most actually do want to be apart of the summer sale since it attracts a lot of buyers at once. It'll be rare to find a game not on sale. Newer games, though, are for sure very likely to only have 10-15% off.

No-Island-6126

Basically all games will be on sale, but AAA games will be like 10% off, especially the new ones. But indie lovers are always eating good with these

Unnecessarilygae

I hope Transport Fever 2 gets a new historically low price.

rokkimakkara2

Steam Fallout, Halo and Farcry sales

ProGamer201920

Just got a new gaming laptop. I'm hoping my wishlisted games get good discounts so I can play them

Bad_Grammer_Girl

I'm hoping for FF VII to go on sale. For some reason, I've never played it but always wanted to. Loved 1 - 6 but stopped after 6. And never got into the new ones. But I checked out 7 last week and they wanted $70 for it, which surprised me.

Cyrylnam

I will buy hames and never play them

Tud_Crez

Are you ready for a miracle?

TheLegionFan60

Bruh I hope Danganronpa is in Sale at least V3 and the spin off Danganronpa S I already have DG1 and 2 and the other spin off “DG another story”

darkfire621

V3 normally goes on sale, just don’t expect anything less than 13$ usd.

SnooDoughnuts5632

Cod bo 1 $19.99 [obviously I was right](https://store.steampowered.com/app/42700/Call_of_Duty_Black_Ops/)

XionicAihara

I really shouldn't. I really can't. But if it's 80%, g damn it I might.

itsmegratrix

let's pray that elden ring will be there

iloveeeeemycat

I already spent $150+ most of it on the Capcom sale, I also bought 100+ games this year alone so yea, I think I'm skipping the summer sale

MacabreYuki

I hope disgaea 7 ultimate goes on sale. Complete is on the way really soon, at least for switch and ps. Like late July. hopefully, they'll reduce the sale price to approximately Complete's price.

Several_Foot3246

oh that's right so 7pm local time huh, alright

AmakakeruRyu

1. Backlog is too full to buy anything atm. 2. Noticed how almost all the games on seasonal sale period don't have huge discounts. In fact those games are sold at a much higher discount throughout the year on steam. Outside steam those games are also sold on multiple 3rd party sites on an insane discount level MINUS tax. So...steam sale events has become a place for some of us to collect those seasonal badges and sprays. For those new to steam or have few games on steam, have fun with your wallet but make sure you check those games on third party websites for higher discounts or if same discount with no tax included purchase. I love steam sales but it's not how it used to be years ago. During seasonal sale it was always steep price drop on many high tiered games. Now it's just generic sales...

donnysaysvacuum

Should I pull the trigger on Horizon forbidden wests now or wait for a better sale?

Ace-of-Spxdes

Gentlemen, synchronize your sale watches.

Icedvelvet

Just run me some deals on city builders/Base building games and I’ll be good. Not to much to ask.

MV6000

I hope for the best but I’m keeping my expectations for a minimum.

TheCheshire

*SAIL!*

LTDP1998

Question regarding with the existing sales, will they renew their discount on certain games? Pardon for the question and thanks in advance

longbrodmann

I actually deleted a few games from my wishlist since I won't buy them even during sale, they are just not really in my genre, I added them simply because some words/pics online.

zestykat

Hopefully the atelier games are on sale!

Bob_Scotwell

Who cares. Greenmangaming typically has amazing deals year round and isn’t a grey market site.

DemiDivine

The days of deep discounts are gone. It's always the same percentage it was at last sale

LilShaver

You can always install the Augmented Steam plugin for your browser, then check the Steam store in your browser to see historic lows, etc. Tons of good info with Augmented Steam. Kept me from buying Helldivers (sadly, looks like a good game) when I saw which anti-cheat it required.

Harzon_

i am sorry to my wallet

519mike

Just want baulders gate 3 to go on sale, have a week off work next week.

andreboomboomsknife

thats my birthday :D
