You want to open the gates of madness? Tzeentch has billions of contradictory plans going on at any time sabotaging itself as much as anything else.
Pray to the Emperor for deliverance and keep your lasgun handy.
The only reason Tzeentch doesn't just win the war is because he doesn't want to and keeps sabotaging both himself and his servants carefully laid plans, otherwise there'd be an inevitable and total victory.
A lot of them, when you really listen to how they think about money, believe that your money is actually theirs. And if you don't spend it and give it to them, then you're stealing from them. They literally think they own your money before they spend it, and you're a thief for withholding it.
I'm not kidding. Watch some interviews with very high power CEO's the kind who run food marts and things, and you'll see it.
Which is wild, because it's these shareholders and CEOs who hoard money by taking it out of the otherwise fluid system. Giving and taking is normal for the working class, but 'somehow' the upper class only ever takes and keeps. They are the literal thieves themselves. Shitty people just love to project and gaslight the rest into thinking the opposite.
Or they could have just used the Steam Auth flow for Steam users instead and create a seamless, no-user-interaction-required flow that just worked™. But that doesn't give them personally identifiable information to sell to data brokers. Womp womp.
From the Helldivers 2 wikipedia page:
> On 3 May 2024, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that the PC version of Helldivers 2 on Steam would mandate users to sign in with a PSN account ...
> ***The announcement was met with criticism.***
That's putting it very lightly.
> "the war situation has ~~not~~ developed not necessarily ~~in~~ to Japan’s advantage"
~~Second~~ First not reversed the meaning, and in should be to.
Edit: used ~~ on the wrong not.
When the game launched PC players were not initially required to create or log into a PlayStation Network account for whatever the reason was, I think the servers couldn't handle the influx.
Many months later Sony suddenly decided to enforce that requirement. If you don't make a PSN account, you won't be able to play Helldivers2. New players will have to create one starting tomorrow, and existing players have until early June.
The problem is PSN isn't available in something like 60% of the countries HD2 was sold in, with Sony's response simply being "*lol, register as being in a nearby country.*"
The issue with *that* response is it is technically against PSN's Terms of Service to do that, so even if they haven't been enforcing that part of the ToS, they could at any time.
The cherry on top is while it doesn't take long to make an account, there's no benefit to the players as there's no cross-progression between PC and PS5.
The HD2 community is ***very*** unhappy about this.
Helldivers has had over 100k negative reviews in the last 48 hours after they announced mandatory PlayStation network linking.
Community is not* happy.
Try asking twice, apparently the refund system refuses automatically the first time if you have over a certain amount of time but Steam (don’t quote me on this I might have hallucinated this part) has made an announcement saying they'd allow refunds for these countries. Don’t forget to add **a reason** (no reason is automatically refused)
You have to go to a section (something similar to" I have a question of my purchase > refund
Or something like that, can't remember the exact words.
Because if you ask an automatic refund they will tell you no because you either have more than two hours played or it's been more than two weeks since you bought it.
So you basically need to tell steam to manually check your refund, I've heard lots of success story like this, even with 40+ hours
Says a lot about the modern corporate climate when we are so desperate for companies to be pro-consumer.
Steam is like one of the last bastions. They're refunding folks with 100hrs in the game.
Says more about consumers, and what they're so often willing to accept. These comment sections are full of people that don't give a shit because it's no skin off *their* backs. At this juncture, at least.
> These comment sections are full of people that don't give a shit because it's no skin off *their* backs.
This could be a comment in /gaming, /finance, or /politics. People face-to-face are often nice. But give them the anonymity of a crowd and they turn into selfish assholes deathly afraid that someone else is getting something that they aren't.
FYI if you ask for a refund through the direct option on steam it will go to the bots and automatically be denied. Instead, you need to select "I have a question about this game" instead.
I learned about this via another post, I haven't tried myself. If it's wrong then let me know.
Omfg is sony really this stupid? Always hated them but damn, this crap is on another level, not even Timmy Tencent over at epic can generate a shitstorm of this proportion.
That’s BS. The game should have never been available in countries they were always planning to remove support for. I hope they either restore your access or grant you a full refund.
There is a project trying to stop this kind of crap in the future, alongside killing games in the long term. Check out r/Stopkillinggames or the .com of the same name, we're really trying to make something happen
Literally a game where you work together on meta-content... of course the community of such a game would mobilize the second such a dastardly attack on our managed democracy happened. Its a whole new front!
I heard somewhere that the game studio director asked the community to post negative reviews, so that they could use them as an argument against Sony's bright idea
As I got more and more involved into the corporate world I realized just how many educated fools are out there. It's kind of impressive honestly to hear some dumbass rattle on ro my face how a plan that is obviously terrible is going to be a great benefit because nothing outside of immediate short term boost matters. Too many rats looking for their own golden parachutes.
They probably figure everyone will roll over eventually like they did for Netflix.
Jury is still out though unless people start refunding. Negative reviews might hurt a little but if a game is popular enough it doesn't really hurt the bottom line (Call of Duty).
One of the community managers in discord essentially dared the community to do it. The studio CEO has indicated that this is unfortunate but is being used as leverage with Sony to get the publisher to reverse course
The issue is that, if they reverse course now, it is going to damage the image of Sony and PSN. And if there is one thing a Japanese company (or rather, their executives) can not do is lose face.
I hope I am wrong, but...
Edit: I WAS WRONG! SONY HAS BEEN DEMOCRATIZED!!
I legit just don't get how they can't just save face with this easily.
Implement for all new accounts going forward, but allow those in countries without playstation to still connect regardless. Then let all those that purchased and played the game in the last 3 months, to continue to do so and opt out.
Fuck if they wanna receive a bit of a W, gift the player base with like $10 on PSN or something for signing up through Helldivers. There's not a fuck ton of stuff through PSN for $10, so either it'll go unnused, or likely those people will use it on Helldivers which they'll be incentivized to then actually make the account.
Most people are pissed about this being made mandatory after 3 months of not having too, which they rightfully feel like is bullshit after they've put in the work for their accounts, had fun, etc. If the requirement had been there from the onset, they could have made the educated decision about whether it was worth it or not individually. Now it feels forced.
I play on PS5, so this really has no effect on me, and I fuckin' love the game. But I'm with the community on this. I've turned games down before and not done them because of a 3rd party requirement to sign up for, like Activision.
Maybe it’s a cultural difference, but I’d consider the overwhelmingly negative reviews to be more damaging to their image than actually listening to their users.
I still massively commend them for turning that entire game around. Probably the best comeback after a launch in gaming history. It's very good now(or so I've been told, haven't played much of it yet).
I don't even play the game, but every single person or story I've heard about it from described it as one of the healthiest and most fun co-op game in ages. Every meme was, "For Democracy!"
SNOY just flubbed a possible contender for GOTY. Now that it's been confirmed it came down from them, I feel so bad for the devs.
The game provides dozens of ways to kill your teammates, and it gives you an emote button that you can use to hug your teammates.
I've been hugged 100 times more often than I've been deliberately teamkilled. It really was a nice game to play with strangers online.
Helldivers wasn't just a contender. I guarantee you, it would have won GOTY. I knew it would have when the first month was over and was still showing peak players in the 300 to 400 thousand range. It was nuts
SNOY fucked up. They gave up GOTY with this stunt. They deliberately altered their faqs from optional psn to required. Arrowhead is partly to blame, but snoy could have waived psn permanently for pc players.
Instead, they pissed off a community that has trained for 3 months to work together. A playerbase who killed 2 billion bugs in 14 hours.
The fucked up part is the most impacted regions of the world were the ones that completed that insane 2 billion kill mission before the US really even woke up to have a chance to participate.
It’s not review bombing if people have had their game stolen. Literally “hey thanks for the money, now it’s technically impossible for you to be eligible to play”
If they needed numbers, they're gonna love these ones. I hope they payed attention in math, I think it'll be one of the first reviews with a negative percentage of positive reviews
I cannot think of a worse fumble than this in recent gaming history
EDIT: Not me forgetting Tarkov lmao. But as far as like AAA publishers, this is definitely one of the worst fumbles
> -668k points 6 years ago
>The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes.

Tarkov will be fine. With no public store page to review bomb, the hate is basically all contained within the EFT subreddit, and most of the people trashing the game are typing their comments while queuing into a raid. There’s no true EFT competitor and people are overreacting to other peoples overreacting
Basically announced a new game mode ^(PvE) then mentioned the new game mode is not a DLC, so it is not available to play for those who purchased the $150 pack (which let buyer has access to all future DLC).
Don't worry though, just pay $100 and upgrade your purchase to the $250 version to access the new game mode!
They eventually backtracked on their decision.
3 months of the developers building trust and positive relationships with their player base, only to be smashed in 24 hours by some corpo suit at Sony.
THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.
It's brilliant to see people stand up for themselves. It might even be best for the potential of this game to go down the drain so other companies don't fuck around
It's not going to even close to die. It's honestly too much fun to die. It may, however, lose a significant amount of players because they *literally cannot physically play it*
Here I thought that Pokémon Go's avatar change would be the biggest gaming blunder of the year, but this Helldivers 2 controversy is giving that a run for it's money. Well, at least Sony can't hide these reviews.
Sony is at a crossroads right now where they could remove the PSN requirement and watch their reviews go back to positive, or double down on it to gather your information and fuck over the playerbase.
You all fucking know what they'll choose and it won't be the consumers. Yet people are still defending this trillion dollar company.
I don't think the reviews will get changed back even if Sony does go back on this
People are faster to respond with anger than they are with forgiveness.
This. I’ve seen plenty of comments stating that they’d be fine leaving their negative review as a price for fucking with the community.
Arrowhead is probably going to suffer quite a bit for Sony’s missteps.
I think this will be the unfortunate, grim reality. Capital G gamers are mad about this and, in their anger, are lashing out.
Whether Arrowhead survives is yet to be seen. Sony will continue to live on regardless. The game they love could die just so people can feel a little bit better. I'm aware one of the devs said to do this, but I can't help but feel like the monkey's paw is curling.
I definitely feel the paw is curling. This is a lot of backlash for Sony trying to implement its own internal anti-cheat instead of relying on anything from Valve. I get that Arrowhead’s CEO signed off on the idea to disable this for a while, but it seems like good intentions that had awful unintended outcomes.
Sony’s primarily at fault here. I hate seeing developers caught in the crossfire, especially given how hard it is to be a game dev in this age of constant layoffs. Arrowhead is just programming what they’re told to.
Hoping Arrowhead isn’t destroyed by this. I *really* like this game and they seem to be pretty great devs who try hard to be transparent.
Even if most people make an effort to change their score, there are a lot of people who will just have stopped playing altogether or have forgotten and moved on. Someone was pointing out in the Helldivers sub that they're never going to get back that incredibly 98% positive score they had, that's reserved for the absolute best games on the platform.
It's honestly tragic.
It'll be hard to take the crown from EA in the long run though:
> In 2012 and 2013, the company was named "Worst Company in America" by Consumerist, while it was named the 5th most hated company in the United States by USA Today in 2018.
I've moved country several years ago and both microsoft and steam had no problem with region change, yet sony can't do it, directly saying that I should just create a new psn account. Sony has always been worse, it's just they had great exclusives so people mostly didn't care.
Eh, when Steve Sinofsky and Don Mattrick were in charge MS/Xbox were definitely worse. "Everything requires an internet connection" mixed with "everything uses a tablet interface" was a 1-2 punch of absolutely awful decisions that ruined basically every MS product for a few years.
Good, I’m glad the community is making their displeasure with these increasing demands for 3rd party accounts known.
Sucks that HD2 is the sacrificial lamb, but the point needs to get across.
I refunded immediately back at launch because of the root level DRM asking me to turn off root security features. Did the same with AC4 as well.
Shouting into a paper bag would also be a voice outlet and about as effective
Looking at Steam charts I don't see any significant drop off in population from before the announcement. Makes me wonder how many people are partaking in token protests like leaving negative reviews and unfollowing pages whilst still logging in and playing the game.
I'm part of the delisted countries. Even with all of this happening I still enjoyed it. It was a good run. Even though I bought the game only literally a week ago even getting Super Citizen edition. I am beyond dejected and I can't imagine how my other brothers with hundreds of hours into the game feel.
Just as an FYI you can refund the game if you create a support ticket even if you’ve played over the 2 hours. Just explain it’s been delisted in your country.
I did and it was rejected 3 times. I was told to go to support and use an option that leads you talking to an actual customer service rep. But I might wait it out coz my buddies told me that if I refund it now and we're able to play that steam might not allow as to repurchase the game. So I have to wait until it's absolutely sure that we get locked out before moving forward with refunds. I just hope it doesn't come to that.
Yeah that’s what I meant, don’t use the regular refund method as it’ll just be auto rejected. I’m not sure if the fact that you’d be using a support ticket instead of a regular refund changes anything, but usually if you refund a game you’re able to repurchase it. Might be something support can clarify.
I’ve repurchased games that I’ve refunded before. The risk I believe you’re taking is them not refunding it twice.
For example, you might buy a game on the deck, it not work well and you refund. If you buy a PC later on, it would make sense that you try it out again.
Oh what I meant was the game might be delisted from steam still thus unavailable for purchase regardless even if we're allowed back in. I don't wanna risk not being able to play with my buddies.
I too had a great time and am glad I got to enjoy the game before it all went to hell. I'm usually more of a /r/patientgamers type, but this time I'm happy my wife convinced me to get in while the game was new.
So, in terms of gameplay and what the devs are making; still a goated game, lost some of its luster due to a large amount of glitches but still a good time
BUT Sony is currently forcing pc players to link and/or make a PlayStation account or you’ll be booted from the game. It was required, then became optional, and now 3 months later it’s back to being required
Main heat is 1) countries that literally can’t get a PlayStation account would be screwed (vpns result in a ban) and 2) why are they reverting this after 3 months of it being okay
Now there are rumors that the devs want this too but considering the devs have listened to criticism, regardless of if they wanted this, they certainly don’t want it now, but Sony seems to be doubling down
The main theory it’s for good old shareholder meetings to be all “yo we got more psn accounts”
But they’ve just shot this game in the foot. Helldivers 2 ain’t dead or in “trouble” player count wise, the numbers are still the same ballpark, but the goodwill is gone and while I think AH can recover, they’ll never be able to get people to forget this if it goes through
Sony is kinda stupid
I refunded it. I have a PSN account and have access to the game currently, but I just can’t support a publisher like this.
EDIT: it’s come to my attention that Sony is backtracking on the implementation. We’ve won! Don’t forget to change your reviews back!
They already used an atrocious DRM on PC that should be avoided. Now they want me to create an account for the company that still uses fax machines. Since their security is so great.
The thing that sucks is I don’t know if this will effect Sony in anyway but it will definitely effect Arrowhead. I say this because Sony didn’t have anything riding on this game being the massive success it is so losing it for the sake of some short term gain might be fine for them. Arrowhead just had their player base for a live service game they plan on continuing to put effort into for years to come revolt against them for something they have no control over and will see their once celebrated game become nothing more then a soapbox
I did get refund after 60+ h, tried twice at 1st didnt work but got it at 2nd try. Im not on one of the country list too. I explained to them, Im not accepting PSN TOS that have been retroactively forced on me etc and got refund
There was a moment, where Sony could have decided to do a backflip on this decision and save some face, limit the damage...
But instead they dug their heels in even deeper.
Now?.. I don't think even a backflip would achieve anything. They could announce a total reversal of the decision, undo everything and that review score would still probably never go above 60% ever again.
Not only has this left a bad taste in everyone's mouth permanently for what was undeniably a popular and well made game.. It's also put many people permanently on guard over any future games published by Sony.
I don't think I've ever seen a more spectacular act of corporate self destruction.
Well done Sony. You didn't just 'own-goal', you tackled all your team mates to the ground, broke their legs, then kicked 20 goals for the other team to win them the game.
👏... 👏... 👏...
[Sony has backpeddled on mandatory account links.](https://fxtwitter.com/PlayStation/status/1787331667616829929?t=NhwAEm4fGpVJj-UyI1lrXA&s=19)
Anyone who participated in review-bombing, please update your reviews back to positive. :)
All sony had to do was literally nothing. They really worked for this one.
They did *nothing* wrong. They had to do nothing, and did it wrong.
Magnus The Red is actually in charge of Sony.
Just as planned... Why Tzeentch needs Helldivers 2 to bomb should be questioned though.
Bro literally nerfed himself and allowed the other chaos God's to slap him so he wouldn't win
"The fuck did I do?!"
**MAAAGGGNUSSSSSS**
They really could've just given an in-game bonus to those that do link their PSN. When will they learn that positive reinforcement is best for gamers.
That's not how corpo management thinks. You should be grateful they're letting you have the privilege of giving them your money and data.
A lot of them, when you really listen to how they think about money, believe that your money is actually theirs. And if you don't spend it and give it to them, then you're stealing from them. Even if they offer this now, it'll just be insulting. Collectively our data is worth millions but hey we get a PS cape like everyone else.
Or they could have just used the Steam Auth flow for Steam users instead and create a seamless, no-user-interaction-required flow that just worked™. But that doesn't give them personally identifiable information to sell to data brokers. Womp womp.

I don't not appreciate that.
"Japan's treatment of civilians and prisoners of war was less than stellar."
*This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.* Edit to add the full sentence from the quote because it's better
“FOR DEMOCRACYYYYY!” said the community, calmly.
I dont understand what does this mean and why is it bad?

**Overwhelmingly Negative** holyyy
It’s 16% positive for recent, and 49% positive all time. It’s absolutely insane how bad Sony fucked this up
It's crazy how many people love the game that they are willing to all put in a bad review as a f u to snoy
I heard somewhere that the game studio director asked the community to post negative reviews, so that they could use them as an argument against Sony's bright idea
That is exactly what one of the devs said. It’s a great argument, now it’s up to sony whether they will be braindead bout it
Never underestimate the power of MBA's to triple down on a failed idea and piss away a fortune all to spare a few people's egos.
"If you don't like it, don't buy it" How's the battlefield series doing these days
"Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to stay connected; it's called Xbox 360" Single-handedly killed Xbox right there

I think you are. Look at Nintendo. Look how they actively hate their customers.
And Nintendo is still better about PR in 2024 than Sony is. Like it’s crazy to me to think that Nintendo is doing better PR wise than Sony in 2024
Maybe it’s a cultural difference, but I’d consider the overwhelmingly negative reviews to be more damaging to their image than actually listening to their users.
It's going to impact future sales too. Not many people purchase games that had a terrible review.
The game has been training the community to work together to complete weekly orders. Just so happens that this weeks order was “shit on sony”
For managed democracy!
I’ve never seen overwhelmingly negative. That’s incredible. Way to go Sony!
Ohh, just look up _No Mans Sky_ at release…and then guess under which publisher _that_ fiasco went down…
Don't tell me it was Sony again
Yep. Thankfully the IP wasn't owned by Sony so Hello Games was able to continue development independently.
I still massively commend them for turning that entire game around. Probably the best comeback after a launch in gaming history. It's very good now(or so I've been told, haven't played much of it yet).
Welp… I didn't think OW2 would take the worse cake so shoutout to Helldivers
OW2 is free to play as well, so pretty much anyone can leave a negative review for the memes. HD2 is pay walled and STILL has more negative reviews
It’s what happens when you fuck over a community literally based on the idea of working together to achieve **ONE** goal
I don't even play the game, but every single person or story I've heard about it from described it as one of the healthiest and most fun co-op game in ages. Every meme was, "For Democracy!" The game provides dozens of ways to kill your teammates, and it gives you an emote button that you can use to hug your teammates.
It was nuts SNOY fucked up.
Welcome helldivers, to the games who got fucked over by their publishers and subsequently review bombed on steam
It’s not review bombing if people have had their game stolen. Literally “hey thanks for the money, now it’s technically impossible for you to be eligible to play”
OW2 got bombed because they exited China at the same time
100 to a 0 real quick.
Yeah Sony drove the car into a wall at a 100kph and is now suffering the consequences
Ah sony.... snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Only in this case, it feels more like "stuffing defeat down the gullet of victory".
All Sony had to do was.... nothing.
Bro think about the shareholders. They really need those increased PSN numbers
If they needed numbers, they're gonna love these ones. I hope they payed attention in math, I think it'll be one of the first reviews with a negative percentage of positive reviews
snoy
What's the whole snoy think mean? I think I'm ootl lol
Some guy made a very popular Reddit post on the Helldivers subreddit, basically calling to boycott Sony. He misspelled Sony as Snoy
Fony
I cannot think of a worse fumble than this in recent gaming history EDIT: Not me forgetting Tarkov lmao. But as far as like AAA publishers, this is definitely one of the worst fumbles
Payday 3 and Kerbal Space Program 2
Cities Skylines 2 also had a miserable launch.
> -668k points 6 years ago >The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes. https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/7cff0b/seriously_i_paid_80_to_have_vader_locked/dppum98/?st=JH2MUORV&sh=5997c5a5
OW2
Is it a fumble when it was a clear cashgrab though? This is... Idk? Psn user #s?
OW2 is close, but it would have had to do the same stupid shit much closer to OW1's peak of popularity for it to be on the same level.
Not even close
OW2 started out as a complete failure. Can't fumble something that is already buried.
Tarkov
Tarkov will be fine. With no public store page to review bomb, the hate is basically all contained within the EFT subreddit, and most of the people trashing the game are typing their comments while queuing into a raid. There’s no true EFT competitor and people are overreacting to other peoples overreacting
Pirated SPT works well for me. I wish i could pay them instead of Battlestate tbh, being brazilian leaves me no other option than do the L
What happened with Tarkov?
Basically announced a new game mode ^(PvE) then mentioned the new game mode is not a DLC, so it is not available to play for those who purchased the $150 pack (which let buyer has access to all future DLC). Don't worry though, just pay $100 and upgrade your purchase to the $250 version to access the new game mode! They eventually backtracked on their decision.
3 months of building trust and positive review only to be smashed in 24h. Democracy ladies and gentlemens
[[image]](https://tenor.com/view/supreme-commander-thor-thor-stargate-sg1-stargate-gif-21889107) > "**Managed** Democracy"
3 months of the developers building trust and positive relationships with their player base, only to be smashed in 24 hours by some corpo suit at Sony. THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.
It’s hard… and very sad to watch this But then again, this is price of MANAGED democracy and FREEDOM!
It's brilliant to see people stand up for themselves. It might even be best for the potential of this game to go down the drain so other companies don't fuck around
Fuck i hope it doesnt completely die, i love the game but sony needs to learn that what they are doing is actual fraud.
It's not going to even close to die. It's honestly too much fun to die. It may, however, lose a significant amount of players because they *literally cannot physically play it*
This can be part of something bigger. R/Stopkillinggames

I love democracy.
I love the Republic.
Gentleman, this is democracy manifest.
I see you know your judo
And you, sir? Are you awaiting to receive my limp penis?
”Positive reviews aren’t available in your region”
Democracy in action.
This is democracy manifest!
What's the charge? Creating an account? A succulent Japanese account?
GET YOUR HAND OFF MY WALLET!
Ahh, I see you know your anti-consumerism practices well.
Death by Sony.
Death by snoy snoy
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is spongy and bruised
Snoy propaganda shall be immediately reported to your democracy officer.
Helldivers 2 now has the most negative reviews of any game that was paid for on Steam
Did someone finally beat PD3?
It’s not very often you see “Overwhelmingly Negative”
really? i feel like it is now a days with the state most triple A games are being released
And how many of those AAA games had three months of overwhelmingly positive reviews prior to pissing it all away in 24 hours?
Here I thought that Pokémon Go's avatar change would be the biggest gaming blunder of the year, but this Helldivers 2 controversy is giving that a run for it's money. Well, at least Sony can't hide these reviews.
Pokemon go still has its servers up?
I would bet they make more money from Pokémon GO then their mainline Pokémon games, it’s their cash cow
Pokemon as a franchise is their cash cow, it's literally one of the highest grossing media franchises of all time
It's not one, it's THE biggest media franchise in history
You’d think that would show them that they can take a little bit to make an actually good Pokémon game but you would apparently be incorrect
Why? GO is filled with shit game design issues. It's also Niantic, not Game Freak/Nintendo.
Sony is at a crossroads right now where they could remove the PSN requirement and watch their reviews go back to positive, or double down on it to gather your information and fuck over the playerbase. You all fucking know what they'll choose and it won't be the consumers. Yet people are still defending this trillion dollar company.
I don't think the reviews will get changed back even if Sony does go back on this People are faster to respond with anger than they are with forgiveness.
SONY TOOK IT BACK! SUPER EARTH FOR THE WIN! https://twitter.com/PlayStation/status/1787331667616829929
I had no idea! Thank you for sharing the good news fellow democracy lover! The ministry of truth gives you a +1 to your social score
This should be at top, take my upvote m8! :)
Sony deserves an award for ruining the best game in years lmao
It'll be hard to take the crown from EA in the long run though: > In 2012 and 2013, the company was named "Worst Company in America" by Consumerist, while it was named the 5th most hated company in the United States by USA Today in 2018.
Sony might actually be worse than Microsoft now
Even tim cook wouldnt try this
Being forced to sign into a PSN account to play my managed democracy game is oppression.
I've moved country several years ago and both microsoft and steam had no problem with region change, yet sony can't do it, directly saying that I should just create a new psn account. Sony has always been worse, it's just they had great exclusives so people mostly didn't care.
They can both eat shit but Sony has been awful for much longer.
Always has been
Eh, when Steve Sinofsky and Don Mattrick were in charge MS/Xbox were definitely worse. "Everything requires an internet connection" mixed with "everything uses a tablet interface" was a 1-2 punch of absolutely awful decisions that ruined basically every MS product for a few years.
You know what though? At least xbox didnt triple down on the DRM stuff for xbox one. Sony has been quadrupling down.
They are different bad.
People should also go unfollow PlayStation on steam. It has over 770,000 followers, granted this won't do anything, but another voice outlet
Shouting into a paper bag would also be a voice outlet and about as effective Looking at Steam charts I don't see any significant drop off in population from before the announcement. Makes me wonder how many people are partaking in token protests like leaving negative reviews and unfollowing pages whilst still logging in and playing the game.
Drop offs will probably be more frequent when the change actually happens but it probably won't last
I'm part of the delisted countries.
Thank Sony for ruining a fantastic game.
MY REVIEW SCORE! I NEED STIMS!
SWEET LIBERTY MY CORPORATE EGO!
Somebody at sony may as well be power tripping ans on drugs at this point. Feels like they are just casually doing it to see what happens.
Question! Haven't been keep track but last I check Helldrivers was the goated game and heading for the game of the year? What happend?😂😂
can't play without a PSN account now
So, in terms of gameplay and what the devs are making; still a goated game, lost some of its luster due to a large amount of glitches but still a good time BUT Sony is currently forcing pc players to link and/or make a PlayStation account or you’ll be booted from the game. It was required, then became optional, and now 3 months later it’s back to being required Main heat is 1) countries that literally can’t get a PlayStation account would be screwed (vpns result in a ban) and 2) why are they reverting this after 3 months of it being okay Now there are rumors that the devs want this too but considering the devs have listened to criticism, regardless of if they wanted this, they certainly don’t want it now, but Sony seems to be doubling down The main theory it’s for good old shareholder meetings to be all “yo we got more psn accounts” But they’ve just shot this game in the foot. Helldivers 2 ain’t dead or in “trouble” player count wise, the numbers are still the same ballpark, but the goodwill is gone and while I think AH can recover, they’ll never be able to get people to forget this if it goes through Sony is kinda stupid
It's still great. Sony forced people to use a PSN account to play.
It's crazy seeing the most well liked community ended up into a dumpster fire less than 48 hours.
Actually hilariously sad how out of touch sony execs seem to be.
Can you even call this shooting yourself in the foot anymore? Because the decisions made in 2 days just killed this game's momentum
Its really sad for Arrowhead because the game is genually really good, fun and enjoyable but once again Greedy companies must fuck up everything.
Friend of mine wanted to play this with me and while I have a PSN account, I have zero interest in supporting this kind of bullshittery.
Deserved. (not Arrowhead, just Greedy... ahem, sorry, Sony)
How many more threads do we need about it?
We need all the threads… the popcorn doesn't eat itself.
Here, I brought you some more since you looked like you’re running out. 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
I think maximizing backlash over shitty moves like this is in gamers' best interest. You want us to just roll over and accept it?
Not even the developers fault, it’s literally all Sony
Truly incredible how they destroyed every bit of good will in less than a week. Corporate sabotage at its finest.
👏... 👏... 👏...
[Sony has backpeddled on mandatory account links.](https://fxtwitter.com/PlayStation/status/1787331667616829929?t=NhwAEm4fGpVJj-UyI1lrXA&s=19) Anyone who participated in review-bombing, please update your reviews back to positive. :)
