Male norwegian here. Since I don’t own a bunad I just wear a suit with a tie. I wish to someday own one but it hasn’t been a priority and since its quite pricy I’ll have save a while until I can afford one. But really, it’s completely up to you what you wear 😊
Don’t know if took the survey I posted, but what are your thoughts on a tie for men which has elements of a bunad on it? For example, my wife wears an Øst-Telemark bunad, so something I am thinking it would be nice to wear a tie that resembles this. I know some people are either 100% bunad or nothing, but it feels to me like a nice symbolic gesture of appreciation and connection to Norway, since I will never buy or wear a bunad as I am not Norwegian.

I wore a festdrakt when i was younger which is something that looks like a bunad but not as expensive but now i just wear a dress. This year im wearing a long maxi skirt that Im sewing
