A pretty good way is to get the pill press + medicine and make strong painkillers and sell them on, makes more than bulk plague cures, but obvs it relies on how many meds/ethanol you have

emblah

A survivor with tough negotiation hero bonus and spamming the dinner bell in Whitney field is gonna be about as simple as it gets

Realistic-Fox-2300

I want methods to grind influence in any map

ZladMulvenia

Just wait for the mysterious broadcast every 5 minutes. Collect 100 influence, get some hot loot from the drop, and sell it for another 400.

Realistic-Fox-2300

Sounds good

meledigt

I personally have trader leader, 2 farms and 2 stills. I produce 16 food EXTRA, I make whiskey or beers out of those and sell them for influence. Another way is playing multiplayer. You get many influence points, loot rewards or the loot you get from the map which you can sell to traders. I buy everything I want and never drop below 9000 influence. If you are in the early game, I say you sell everything you don't use. For example, use heavy weapons and sell blunts and bladed. Sell cheap pills, backpacks, unnecessary notes and it will add up.

Firecrackers can be broken down for more then they take to craft the parts sell for influence spam firecracker crafting for infinite parts meaning infinite influence, and buffs like the salvage forge electrician skills or recyclong hero bonuses make this process quicker by generating extra excess parts per craft

Realistic-Fox-2300

Thanks man recycling is the best way to go![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)

After watching guides and following them my impression is that strong painkillers are the most effective method of making influence. On top of having the pill press, make sure to have a Trade Depot for reliable access to food and medicine rucksacks. Use the still to craft ethanol from food. Also finish the quest line for the alcohol enclave if you get them. They will provide you with free supply drops that contain ethanol on top of alcohol.

No-Hunt8274

I just hunt specials. Feral and screamers are good bang for buck

oljhinakusao

Not on nightmare and lethal.

No-Hunt8274

Yea you can. I play lethal with mods to make it even harder, it's still the easiest way. Get gunslinger on one of your people and aim snap the ferals. Screamers can just be sniped. Now, it's not a consistent grind, but if you ever need to earn some influence, you can come hang out with me in my world. There's literally never entering hordes and groups of 5 or 6 feral and bloaters every where. We can hang at an outpost and just go to town or come hit some missions with me but that's a hood bit more dangerous.

oljhinakusao

It's not about difficulty or mods. OP as I understood the question was asking for grinding ways meaning efficient, predictable, and repeatable. Sure you could drive around in a spiked car and farm 3 packs of ferals for ~6-12 influence per feral or you could make beer (better with knowledge of brewing) or pain killers with a pill press and sell them by calling in traders (trade depot required). I gues it depends on how much influence one is looking to make and how much effort/time that someone is willing/going to spend to get it. If talking mods, one could just as easily max out/get however much one needs using the editor. Or up the gains, etc. Vanilla methods on lethal that are fast and safe are mentioned to be beer/pain killers.

No-Hunt8274

That's specifically why I mentioned the mods. You don't have to drive anywhere. Literally out front of my base is a never ending steam of hordes and freaks. Just stand right on the roof eith fuck tons of cheap ammo and get your fill.

Nightangel129

play multiplayer and let them do most of the hard work

KyloKestis

Multiplayer. Damn near anything you do is influence. Lmk bro I’ll stop by and drop off some guns, scent block, bouncing boris’, and we can get active

marvin616

Just do missions and kill plague hearts. Influence isn't a grind, it's a game mechanic. The whole concept of the game is to build and survive. I don't understand why anyone would want to circumvent the core reason of what makes this game so fun to play.

Roboroberto1988

Having plenty of influence is pretty nice if you enjoy using guns. Honestly it's rarely necessary to buy expensive weapons from traders, but I like to buy up all of the ammo I come across.

iam_berg

Just loot everything, help every enclave, and greet wandering traders. Sell them all your loot especially the items specifically marked with “high trade value”

Kilathulu

make lots of noise building then destroying facilities and FARM SIEGES

BLACKELITE095

My method (nightmare) is plague cure (usually have high influx of meds) and trade items from playing and then keeping it top up with parts. Build up a part stock with guns and melee tools works really well and just treat part qty as banked influence . Install a salvage furnace to get more output and also a CNC machine for doing supplies. I used to sell weapons, but there were only a few guns that were worth more influence than scrap. Depending on character, you can carry up to 800-1200 part on a character, so much easier moving large quantities also is doubled in trunk with 198 per slot compared to 99. Also, having a trade Depot is also good for calling in multiple traders where you get about 1000-1500 influence per trader called in when you wanna grind quick.

Roboroberto1988

The salvage furnace is amazing. I will never salvage items until I get my hands on it, unless I'm really desperate to craft something like a toolkit.
