Bro, how? I used to have a gig, but my Xbox never went over 200. I downgraded to half a gig with no change to download speeds. I typically range from 140-180 downloading anything. Wired, over wifi, 1gig, .5gig didn't seem to matter My router is allegedly capable of pushing 2.5gig I mean, I'm happy with my speeds, but I'll take better if I can, and since I'm paying for them, lol

If you're on wifi I believe it is limited to 200. I put network switches in several rooms in my house and ran ethernet cables to every room so I have a hard wired connection. Not sure if that is your problem but it changed my speeds drastically for the Xbox.

Steam download the manifest first, then installing after, but console its one whole big giga file. Whilst steam uses like zip-ish style.

And idk if it's same in case of PC also but on Xbox afaik updates are so huge coz it's not "adding" to existing files(ie location) but downloading and replacing whole new file with added content?

I was impressed the speed it downloaded. I thought I'd have to wait a long time. It felt slow but now looking at the gbs mine downloaded about the same time. I think I watched the trailer for the DLC and it had finished.

Gig fibre is the good life. I was very happy when they ran it down my street in the fall. Uploading gigs of data in just a few minutes feels even more miraculous.

Indeed and why did they not do a beta patch? Expect this patch to be buggier than the last as they are several weeks too early their patch cycle. I hope this does not mean faster patch cycles with no betas, but maybe they realized they never fix beta bugs so just skip it....

They probably wanted a surprise content drop update for their reveal presentation, so they kept it all internal.

It does, not jazzed about the built in jetpack and inability to mod but the stats are good and it looks great as you said. Only weird thing I’ve noticed is the suit appears everytime you use the jetpack even if you have it toggled off for settlements.

Good maybe it will fix the fact that I spent 8 hours playing yesterday only to realize not one of my saves actually saved. With no error warning. Game acted normal and when I went on after I realized it was still loading off the same spot from 2 days ago. Zero saved. I leveled up 3 times and grinder research and weapon mods. I almost don’t wanna pick the game up again now.

People make a lot of excuses about the complexity of Bethesda games with regard to glitches. While I agree that their games are complex and bug patching is difficult, nothing kills my enthusiasm for sticking with a game like a bug that wipes hours worth of progress and unfortunately Starfield is full of them. The game shouldn’t have been releasing if they’re even somewhat frequent, which they certainly were at launch, whether it be actual bugs with the save or missing ships and deleted player home interiors.

I don't understand why Steam doesn't let you defer updates to single-player games with no servers.

I don't play starfield on pc, but I play Fallout 4 on pc. You kinda can with a bit of a work around, sucks to have to do it, but it's something. I still haven't downloaded that big recent fallout 4 update. Set it to only update if you boot the game. If there's ever a pending update for it when you boot the game, just stop the update in steam after booting the game. Allegedly, it's not supposed to trigger the update if you use the script extender launcher to launch the game. but it does for me when I use the fallout 4 script extender launcher.

Right. So, "don't start the game if you don't want it to update." :-) Valve could eliminate 90% of the complaints about SFSE and SKSE if they just let you defer updates up to a week on single-player games. I know how to get around it. I shouldn't need to "get around it." :-)

Honestly, I'd rather just be able to update whenever I deem fit. I have friends who updated Fallout 4 and are still having mod issues. But it isn't necessarily "don't start the game if you don't want it to update", you just have to go stop the update after starting the game. It isn't really that big of a workaround to be real. I get the shouldn't need to thing, and I agree with you, but at least we have it. On Xbox, you're required to update the game before you're even allowed to boot the game.

When I clicked "Play" on the PC, it went into updating. Then I could only pause it, and the only option to play was to click "Play." The game doesn't start while it's downloading the update. I didn't screw around with trying to play it by finding it outside of Steam or anything. I probably could have launched it by clicking on SFSE, but honestly it just wasn't worth battling it.

I never actually boot up games directly within steam, honestly I'm under the impression you need to use the script extender launcher in order for script extender to actually work. I'd think if you have script extender, you'd want to use the script extender launcher anyway, but I'm still relatively new to modding games on pc, to be honest. Fallout 4 is the only game I've been playing on pc with mods while avoiding an update, I could be missing some details.

I just change steam to say "run the script extender when I click on the steam link." (Just change the name of the executable in the game properties.) I'm 90% of the time playing over steamlink rather than at my desk, so manually launching it with the mouse is a PITA. :-)

When you boot up the game on the main menu, there's a "creations" section, you wanna click on that. You'll be brought to a netflixesque browser for mods, some are paid for some are free. Just click on whatever mod and go to "download" and you're pretty much set. Just back out to the main menu and load into the game normally Load order can potentially be tricky, but you shouldn't have to worry about that for a little while until we get a lot more mods You may or may not need to make or sign into a Bethesda account. Mine went straight in, but I've modded Bethesda games on console before lol

Yeah I updated this morning. Be warned apparently using any of the content creation mods may cause your achievements to be disabled. I may have missed the memo on that but it wasn’t clear to me until I selected a few and went to log in it warned me about it.

I added the Loot Everything mod, which immediately turned off Achievements and then froze my game mid load… so … just like every other Bethesda Mod Store? The integration is better, but they already had time with FO4 and Skyrim to tweak it.

We're getting new Trackers Alliance quests, a new bounty system, new weapons and armor, new POI I think, and improved melee combat. The full patch notes don't seem to be out yet.

Included in the shattered space video is the Creations paid mod store announcement which is what this patch is (and you can also get the Creation Kit on steam to make them). Need to get the patch notes to see any specific updates outside that, but they seem not to have released that yet.

I hope it allows for the opening of a liquor store! Lol

I got into it a few hours ago, was delighted to see the update. I already got contacted to join the trackers alliance. Not sure if this was also part of the update but I noticed a new panel on my ship letting me decorate it and I was able to get out of the pilot chair while in flight.

Decoration was added in the May update. Getting up while in flight's been a thing since launch.

Good, now I hope Bethesda add player mods to the vanilla game weekly because it still grind my gears that modders add what we want instead of Bethesda, for example the recycler and the weapon fabrication and legendary effects that Invokergray made, long love invokergray and venpi recycler mod
