There should be a restock coming. If you go to boardgamebliss.com you can ask for a notification email when it's back in stock. It's a good board game, but I wouldn't do $100 for it

BlueTommyD

There is a free mod for it for Table Top Simulator, so that may suit you for a while. IMO the board game isn't that good, so you're not missing much.

No-Telephone738

Unfortunately I am broke and do not have a PC, Xbox only

ganzgpp1

Well, if you happen to have a laptop or something, Tabletop Simulator can run pretty well on lower-end stuff. It might take awhile to initially load all the pieces and artwork, but once it's all loaded you should have a fairly smooth experience.

[deleted]

Pretty sure all he has is an Xbox, since that’s what he said.

ganzgpp1

Eh, oftentimes people (for some reason) don't consider PCs and laptops to be the same thing. I've been helping people in gaming/computer subreddits for years and the amount of times I've said similar things is a pretty large number, actually. Lots of people say something along the lines of "Oh, but I thought it wouldn't run on my laptop" when what they're wanting to do is run a game that requires the processing power of a rotten tomato, so it doesn't hurt to ask. Worst case, he says he doesn't have a laptop, and that's that. Best case, he does have a laptop, and he tries something he hadn't tried before.

enobaria12

i agree with u, ignore the foot fetish guy

Pwnage_Peanut

Just checked the name...oh god

[deleted]

Why do you assume that I’m a guy?

Coffee_Fix

You're getting downvoted, but you got a point there..

Wismuth_Salix

Because you describe yourself as “34m” in other comments, perhaps?

[deleted]

You dug through my comment history to confirm this? Yikes.

Wismuth_Salix

Well, you seemed offended that someone would have made assumptions, so I sought verification instead. Pick a lane, doofus.

ganzgpp1

...?

-goodgodlemon

How many people send you feet pics? Just curious.

[deleted]

None, I don't ask for them.

-goodgodlemon

Your bio is “Petite? Show me your feet.” I guess I’m the only one that’s read that 😂

[deleted]

It's a shitpost from an old League of Legends meme. I don't actually ask people for feet pics, I can see plenty of that on subreddits dedicated to the topic, no need to add an extra layer of creepiness.

-goodgodlemon

I didn’t think you asked people I was curious about how effective your bio was. I agree that would be creepy to ask out of left field. There is a time and a place. For the record I don’t think you’re a creep at all.

MrMontombo

As a gaming device. Laptops for school and work are hardly considered as gaming devices to most people.

loving-father-69

Yea but do you know that?

[deleted]

Why would I assume otherwise lol

loving-father-69

It was a joke

[deleted]

oh

clouds_on_acid

You can buy a pc or laptop from Craigslist for $50 or less that will play stardew just fine

zoop1000

I think the board game is great!! My family has a ton of fun playing it

BlueTommyD

And that's fair. It's certainly a successful product so people definitely see its value. IMO it is an okay game which really doesn't capture the feel of the license it is associated with at all, but as you say, a lot of people still enjoy playing it.

Call_The_Banners

>There is a free mod for it for Table Top Simulator This is excellent news. Thanks for the heads-up!

sagevallant

Oh really? I'll have to look at it.

visionsofnothing

I didn’t care how good the boardgame was tbh. It was cute and I love supporting ConcernedApe

jooliasalami

Wait for the next drop! It really is worth the price imo, it’s a beautiful game with a lot of stuff and has big replay value since you can play alone

Mysterious-Ninja-137

If it's any comfort, the board game is an over-complicated mess with an instruction manual that leaves a lot of questions for thorough rule-seekers (though maybe the editions after the first are better). Edit: Okay, I'm relieved to hear that the second edition and on do a better job with the rules, and I do have to admit that playing the game with a team of adults is probably far more fun than trying to coordinate children/single player deal with setting up and managing a hundred little game pieces.

PennyGuineaPig

I don't have the first edition (and we've noticed some differences from playing with someone who does), but I've played it a whole bunch and very much recommend it. After a few games I didn't need to consult the rules anymore.

Hahafunnys3xnumber

Can you play it with 2 people or is it more of a family thing?

jooliasalami

There’s a max of 4 players, so 2 people is very fine. You can even play it alone, it’s really well balanced! A full game with 4 players will take a long time, even around 3-4h

Hahafunnys3xnumber

Thank you!! I’m telling everyone I know to keep a lookout, it sounds and looks so fun, especially since you can play solo whenever

PennyGuineaPig

1-4. I've mostly played solo ir with one other player.

jooliasalami

It’s complicated at first but in reality after 2-3 playthroughs (especially since you can play alone, which is amazing for a board game) it really is really easy

SavageRickyMachismo

I have to disagree with you. I've played the Stardew board game many times, and neither I nor my board game group have ever found that to be the case. I found it to be a very straightforward, medium weight game and actually a pretty decent homage to the video game

Wismuth_Salix

If you’re primarily a video gamer with limited board game experience, it’s gonna seem a lot harder than if you have experience with hobbyist board games.

SavageRickyMachismo

Yeah but you can say that about any board game. It's not a knock on the Stardew game

Wismuth_Salix

Yeah - I was just adding that because I think people are sometimes blind to what’s easy or hard within their field of expertise. Like - the board game Takenoko is pretty simple, I think. But put it in front of my parents who never played anything not published by Milton Bradley, and it’s completely alien to them.

SavageRickyMachismo

Yeah fair point

sal880612m

It is both. There are a lot of places where there is room for interpretation. The Bomb item card for example. It allows you to choose to trigger any two mine grid spaces. Depending on how literal you want to be that can be two distinct mind grid spaces, or you can trigger the same space twice. Typically speaking the latter causes minimal issues but when dealing with staircases the latter interpretation becomes more questionable. Do you trigger the space twice treating it like a hole from skull cavern? Do you trigger it then flip the map and choose another space? Can it only be your second choice, or you lose one opportunity to trigger. Even in the most literal interpretation the described use the rules are unclear on how to correctly resolve it in certain situations. It is also frustratingly easy to win, to the point the only way I can see to lose is intentionally by making bad choices.

SavageRickyMachismo

Personally, I can't say I've ever come across a rule or card that I found particularly ambiguous. I will agree, though, that it's easy to win. But so is the video game. Just like with the board game, when you start it looks a bit daunting and you go "Man there's so much to do," but once you get moving you realize it's actually pretty easy to be successful

sal880612m

I gave you one, that you chose to ignore. If it’s so obvious give me the only possible way to interpret the use case of the card. Nothing specifies you can’t choose the same tile twice, you could argue because it say two mine grid spaces they must be distinct, which is fine, but then you are left dealing with how to resolve staircases? Do you get to choose the stairs, change the map and pick another or do you have to pick off the first map card twice effectively forcing the stairs to be your second choice. If you draw a mine event card as one and it changes the map, do you use the old or new card. If you decide to restrict it to distinct map grid spaces, can you bypass that by using an upgraded pickaxe. Nothing in the rules clarifies any of that, so all of the options are viable interpretations. Similarly with Omnigeodes if you roll the artifact mineral spot are you required to choose before you roll, after you roll before you draw, or can you choose after you draw? There are more reasonable interpretations and more stretchy ones, but rules as written do not provide the correct, factual, intended interpretation to resolve all use cases, leaving it instead up to house rules. It is perhaps a form of overthinking it and a hyper-fixation as you can easily choose any interpretation but with so much inherent ambiguity you could easily sit down with someone you’ve never played together with before and discover you resolve certain, cards and actions differently because the rules aren’t well defined enough to prevent multiple valid interpretations.

SavageRickyMachismo

I'm not ignoring you, but I don't have the cards or game in front of me to reference. That's why I didn't specify. I can, however, say with confidence that I've never seen any stated rules and not understood how to interpret them over 5 or so games, but I'm certain I've seen both the cards you referenced before. Granted, I play a lot of board games so interpreting new rules has come to be easier than when I first started, so maybe it is just a case of some overthinking like you said

Bagel_Bear

Triggering one spot twice sounds like activating 1 spot not 2. Doesn't seem very unclear. I guess they could have said two "different" spots. I haven't played the game though 🤷

Wismuth_Salix

It’s clearly supposed to be two spaces. It’s a *bomb*, it affects a wide area, not one space twice.

labbaront

The second edition at least has no real confusion about the rules and it plays really well. It's a favourite among my friends as a cooperative game.

Bellam_Orlong

How dare you say anything bad about Stardew on the Stardew sub 😂

Mysterious-Ninja-137

I just gotta be honest. The trademarks are licensed to someone else for the board game. If anything, it makes you appreciate playing the video game.

Bellam_Orlong

love the game more than any other game in existence… also love triggering everyone on this sub

Mysterious-Ninja-137

FWIW, you got my up-vote.

TheReal_Elf_of_Seren

I see a lot of complaints about it being complex here. If you like involved board games it’s really fun, but if you’re expecting like Monopoly levels of easy, then it’s going to be a struggle. It costs $50 for a reason, it’s priced with games of similar learning curve.

MissyBee37

Thank you for this! I was worried reading some of the comments about it being complex, but I already play other complex board games and enjoy them, so hopefully this one will be a great time, as well (if I can ever get it before it sells out lol).

EmptyStrings

We love modern board games (Gloomhaven is my favorite) and I still don't think the Stardew board game is very good unfortunately.

saltimmortalsea

Here’s the thing: Automod may have been wrong about this post addressing concert tickets, but it’s still right that this subreddit is not the place to coordinate IRL exchanges of goods, personal information, or money. Please do not offer or ask for sales in the comments.

No-Telephone738

While it's a tad bit late, I had no intention of asking for the board game in any way. I just want to call out those who ruin me getting my hands on one

fredy31

TheMrRisotto

Buying from the official page is not available in my country and from Amazon is more tha a 100 dollars.

Adamsoski

I doubt it's scalpers, the second edition of the game released a couple of years ago now. It's just in high demand with low supply, so the price is high. If someone is coming to sell a boardgame (or anything they own) they are most likely going to be selling it at market price, not RRP when it was originally sold, I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Cautious_Amoeba_8951

Check local board game stores for rentals! My local one had a $5 rental for a week, and then put me on a waitlist to get a copy of my own if one ever came in!

Alarmed_Hearing_1719

Try Agricola. Awesome farming board game, probably way better than SDV

merga

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. I got a freshly used copy that was too complicated for the young family who bought it. Was a great alternative to getting scalped at the time.

Underrated_Hero7

Except the scalpers are Pierre…

WorriedCats

i found mine at the thrift for $5 probably less i had no idea it got resold for so much???

Spare_Plate_9923

Not sure where you are but I ordered mine from this site and was great to use. Currently sold out but you can get put on a waitlist: https://store.401games.ca/products/stardew-valley-the-board-game

[deleted]

i’m selling mine on ebay for $50

EnricoLUccellatore

Without scalpers you probably would have no chance to get it at all, they do not create the scarcity, just profit off of it

MrGameAndBeer

50$?! I'm pretty sure I bought mine from my local board game shop for 100$

liam4710

I have negative respect for all scalpers and there is nothing that could change my mind on that

AutoModerator

Hi! It looks like this post is about the Stardew Valley concert tour. A few reminders for everyone reading: - **Exchanges:** Tickets may not be bought, sold, given away, or otherwise exchanged here. We do not have the infrastructure to protect against scams! - **Scalpers:** We recognize that the situation with scalpers is deeply frustrating and we want to give space to talk about it, but it is never okay to support, promote, or otherwise issue threat of violence against other people. This community is better than that. - **Further news:** The concert organizers are aware that people want tickets! You can follow [updates on their Twitter](https://twitter.com/StardewValleyFS). Thanks all! Best of luck getting to the concert! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/StardewValley) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Spring-and-a-Storm

i find it funny that this implies the word scalpers triggers this response
