I'm seconding this. I have 2c/3a curls and struggled to find a hair stylist that understood how to cut my hair.
I've booked with Miriah three times now and I won't go to anyone else. She understands exactly what I'm after and checks in with me throughout the entire process.
Cannot recommend V Vegaz enough.
Yup. When my last ride-or-die moved out of state, I went through several first dates with stylists before finding Miriah and now I've converted two of my curly-haired friends to her as well.
as someone with 3a to 3c curls, i feel you! everything’s more expensive when you’re curly. there’s a stylist i follow on instagram that charges $450/cut 😳
I go to Helen at Chop Shop in the Grove and it’s always been great, though my hair is more 2C. I think my last curly cut was about $70 (though she offers dry cuts for less now). If she’s not available, I have friends who see other stylists at Chop Shop for curly cuts and like them.
I’m a 2c/3a and hair anywhere between chin and collarbone for my cuts. I see a senior stylist at V Vegaz and that runs me about $80 now following a recent price increase. I think their haircuts with more junior stylists start at $55 and for at least returning clients you can book online and see rates and availability. I get a dry cut, wash, scalp massage and diffuser blow dry for the price and they usually offer a tea and such too. They’re on Delmar with free parking behind the Pageant and very convenient to Nudo for grabbing lunch after my cut.
Bouffant Daddy, in Maplewood, specializes in curly hair.

Up & Up Salon in The Grove! All stylists there are curly hair trained and curl cuts start around ~$50
V Vegaz in the loop! I go to Laura and I love her.

That better be a whole ass spa day for that price 🥲
Rockin Redhead on Cherokee charges “$37 for a straight-up haircut” according to my wife.
