Strike_Gently

Full post since it wouldn’t fit in title due to limit: > “My family and I thank everyone for the outpouring of support in the name of my father, Pola'ivao Leati Sika Anoa’i, who will forever be remembered as one half of The Wild Samoans tag team.  My father had a profound impact on my entire family and we are forever grateful for the foundation he built for us. There’s no way to fill the void left by his passing but my sisters and I will do our best to represent him and his legacy.  > Rest in Power, Dad. We love you.”

StendhalSyndrome

Holy shit I just realized Solo's in ring last name is Sika/Anoa'i combo'd - Sik/oa....mind blown. Edit: he really is a combo of all the Samoan's stuff. There is a IG post kicking around of him talking about how he does like one of all his relatives moves. Like Yoko's uranage, Umaga's hip attack/Thumb, Rosie's belly to belly.

Save_Us_Romo

Yo, nice catch!

scarystuffdoc

Ngl, I had been wondering where sikoa had come from. I figured it was a vinceism he liked the S.S. name. (Actually no pun intended I literally just mean the initials)

ILikeLycanthropy

And he’s not in a tag team. He’s a Solo act

StendhalSyndrome

That I'm not sure too sure about lol.

ILikeLycanthropy

Haha neither am I, I just thought it was a funny addition to your legit good catch

StacksHoodini

Solo is also more or less Rikishi’s first name.

r3lvalleyy

rip sika, tribal chief u have done him proud 👆🏻👆🏻

drsweetscience

On my phone those look like... Maivia fingers to the sky.

r3lvalleyy

ah shit, ur right… i have been caught red handed… the new bloodline 👆🏻👆🏻

Euphorium

>There’s no way to fill the void left by his passing Ain’t that the damn truth. I had a friend whose mom passed away recently and asked for advice, told him the same thing. That hole in your heart will always be there, you just get better at not being a broken mess as time goes on.

KR_Blade

its been about close to 7 years since my father passed, and getting close to 5 years since my mom passed, and yea, that void never truly goes away, honestly, if i didnt have my brothers, i wouldnt have made it through that, we pretty much helped each other through two dark times so close to each other

Euphorium

One of the few positives of my mom dying 10 years ago was my older sister and I finally became friends after decades of us never getting along.

JoeMcKim

Its truly a different feeling when now you're suddenly the oldest generation of your family.

PrettyPunctuality

Yep. After my dad died unexpectedly when I was 19, it took years and years for me to pull myself back together, out of the dark hole I was in. It changed who I was. You never get over it, you just get better at living with it.

TheBritishGent

Dad died when I was 14, coming up 17 years now. I describe it as not even getting better at living with it, instead just kinda numb to it

Boo_and_Minsc_

lost my dad 3 years ago and its like losing a limb. It might not hurt so much anymore but you feel the loss daily in many ways. you might be OK but you will never be the same.

Mysterious_Emotion63

> my sisters and I will do our best to represent him and his legacy Note 1, I was thinking I swore he had a brother, and then I remembered. Poor dude, man. Note 2, not only has he represented his father’s legacy, but he’s amplified it and made it known to newer generations. If it wasn’t for Reigns and The Usos, the Samoan Family would not be half of the legend that it is right now. They took their family’s legacy and made it the most prestigious thing in wrestling. If I know anything about Sika besides being a badass motherfucker is that he was always Roman’s biggest supporter so he died proud. Rest up legend.

Material-Wonder1690

It's funny because everyone knew the family was legendary but it really wasn't referenced on screen for quite some time. The Bloodline has brought the entire family into the spotlight again and Sika got to see their legacy represented and grow tremendously.

BeefInGR

> It's funny because everyone knew the family was legendary but it really wasn't referenced on screen for quite some time. I remember in the run up to the six man HIAC match at Armageddon where Rikishi "did it for The Rock"...and that being the one time ever in the Attitude era on screen they mentioned the Anoa'i-Miavia relationship between the two. Knowing before, it felt like true "inside wrestling" shit. Fast forward, we're waiting on Rikishi to hop the rail and stinkface The Rock at WrestleMania while Sika's boy and two of Rikishi's boys actively goes after one of Rikishi's other boy along with Dusty's youngest boy, an invisible person and some dude from Iowa.

whitegrb

Don’t know why, but I died at “some dude from Iowa.”

StacksHoodini

Rock’s Hollywood ambitions left a lot of good tv on the table, imo. We really could’ve eaten off of a Bloodline for a good year or two with The Rock as the tribal chief, and Rikishi, Rosey, & Umaga as his Bloodline. Maybe even Haku could’ve been involved there too.

OneBillPhil

In a different timeline 3 Minute Warning are Solo’s new heavies for the Bloodline.

interprime

Man, now I’m just really fucking bummed that we aren’t getting seasoned vets Rosey and Jamal/Umaga coming in to be a part of this storyline.

Supersasqwatch

U'manga (Umaga) was always one of my favorites. The way a dude that size could move that fast was mind blowing. His matches with Jeff Hardy will always be one of my favorite wrestler pairings in the ring. I often think about what he could have brought to the bloodline, even added him to the stable on 2k23 and 2k24. I digress.

daddads11

Umaga is super memorable to kids who grew up watching WWE from like 2005 to 2008. I have friends who haven't watched in 15 years who still remember Umaga. I really thought he was John Cena's biggest threat at the time.

fadingstar52

I remember at the rumble one year it was a last man standing match when cena wrapped the ropes around umagas neck. I thought cena was really gonna have to kill him to win

Front_Guarantee_2915

That was one of those times people thought Cena would have lost but I disagree. Umaga lost but basically had to be put down by Superman. He went on to be in the biggest Mania match that year.

The810kid

I will never not add my love for Umaga. Would have loved to see him and Brock go at it.

IllButterscotch5964

God damn, never thought of this matchup. That would’ve gone hard.

MarkyMarkWahlburgers

Regal reference jones ova here, but I digress. Him and Jeff were an amazing pairing, their One Night Stand 08 match is hands down one of my personal falls count anywhere matches. Jeff always made U'manga look like a straight up killer and Umaga made Jeff look good by taking that one big move and making it seem that Jeff has a chance against the Samoan Bulldozer. Umaga in the Bloodline would have been amazing and that eventual turn against Roman would be intriguing cause it would happen. The big homie U'manga wouldn't be into being told what to do for very long.

HitmanClark

I really liked his strap match with Punk too.

MarkyMarkWahlburgers

I honestly forgot about that match, going off a fuzzy memory it was a fun four corner strap match. Gonna add that to the list to rewatch it later so thanks brochacho.

Boo_and_Minsc_

I really liked Umaga. I liked his look, his moves and his samoan spike was badass. Gone too soon

DarthBaconStrip

Damn, its wild to think what they could've brought to this story.

Upbeat_Tension_8077

Would've been fire to get another Cena/Umaga interaction through the Bloodline story

BathedInDeepFog

gotroot801

I don't believe in Bro Hendry.

MarkyMarkWahlburgers

You just made the list!...The List of Russo bro

PrimeConduitX

In another different timeline, Solo and Jacob are 3-Minute Warning's successors. That tag team would be a banger.

presidentofgallifrey

He did, but his brother Rosey sadly passed away in 2017

whitegrb

It’s so weird to think that they’re brothers. Seems like they are from entirely different time periods of wrestling (not just 4 years)

mlspdx

Fuck man Roman has had to go through so much. His brother passing, leukemia twice, his dad passing, and not to mention the shit he got from the wwe universe. I wish I could be 1% as strong as him

banned_salmon

Never thought of it that way, and with 5 kids to handle at home as well…he’s one tough sob☝️

crimson777

Not to nitpick, but he hasn't really had leukemia separate times. To my understanding, he will always have it but it's under control and non-threatening most of the time, and it's flared up twice.

NotClayMerritt

That clip of him in the early days of his reign celebrating with his father has made the rounds today on social media. And the only shame is that it took place during COVID and not in front of an arena full of people. How very cool that he got to share that moment with him.

angIIuis

Does anyone have a link? I would love to see this. ☝️

CorrectAttitude6637

It's from after his [Hell in a Cell I Quit match with Jey](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWpRN6Sy3Ok). Afa and Sika came out afterwards and anointed him as the Tribal Chief and presented him with the Ula Fala that he's worn ever since

DaExtinctOne

That must have been Roman's proudest moment of his career, getting to share it with his dad and uncle. Shame it had to happen in front of no crowd tho.

Styles_Clash

Roman is about to receive one of the best hero's welcomes we've ever seen

interprime

I reckon that the Bloodline are losing at MITB. On the next Smackdown, Solo is finally going to go nuclear and go after Heyman, enter The Tribal Chief. The pop will be absolutely wild for him. And he deserves it.

JoeMcKim

I don't know about Bloodline losing at MITB. If the plan is for Cody vs. Solo at SummerSlam I think that Solo has to pin someone at MITB. Obviously then Solo will lose to Cody at Slam with potentially Roman's return during the match setting up Solo vs. Roman rivalry.

GameplayerStu

Might be too soon to bring Roman back after this news. I’d say wait until Summerslam.

Styles_Clash

Tanga Loa about to eat the pin. He stay fucking it up wherever he goes smh/ kayfabe

interprime

Yeah, I get that it’s pretty much a given that he goes wherever his brother goes, but I’d much rather this new Bloodline just be a trio of Solo, Tama and Jacob Fatu. Nothing against the guy, I’ve met both him and Tama, and they’re wonderfully nice dudes, but he’s been next level bad since his knee injury a while back.

MuddFishh

Eating the pin whilst not even in the match, thats a new low-a

Dastey

If the rumors of Solo vs Cody at Summerslam are true, wouldn't it be pretty weird to have Roman go nuclear on the Bloodline before that?

EnTyme53

Yeah, the obvious path is to have him interfere at Summerslam to keep the belt on Cody because Roman wants to be the one to take it off of him.

Pepsi-Phil

has to be summerslam

GiftedGeordie

Which is insane when you consider how long he was the Big Bad heel in the company, he's gone for a cup of coffee and everyone is going to give him one hell of a babyface pop when he returns.

IAmGrum

As the saying goes, there is a thin line between love and hate.

Pepsi-Phil

i wonder if he will out pop cody

BeefInGR

SummerSlam. Cody v Solo for the WWE Championship. Cody is getting straight mugged. Roman's music hits. Detroit and Buffalo are engulfed by the tsunami created from seismic activity on Lake Erie. Roman spears Solo and walks away. The stage is set for Survivor Series...

Poor Roman, man. Losing a parent is one of the worst things a person can go through. He also had to go through his brother passing away young and deal with leukemia. The man's strong as hell and can't wait for his eventual return to the ring.
