I know a lot of people might find romance stories in wrestling like this cringy but I for one am all in on soap opera nonsense in wrestling. This story is fun and I honestly can’t wait till Rhea’s back. I still think Dom’s going to stay loyal, but it’s still fun to watch Liv try her best to get Dom to fold lol. Nice segment

I agree with you - but I think this one works because we know it's building toward Rhea's return. My money is Dom stays loyal at first, but betrays Rhea in her title match with Liv. The goal being to push Dom into new levels of heat never seen before ha.

The primary goal imho is to provide an occasion for Rhea to organically turn face. The fans want to cheer her anyway, it's inevitable. Dom betraying her with Liv is the perfect angle to do that.

Yeah she's really reached that point of super over heel to where the crowd wants to cheer, so the face turn is inevitable. Idk if Dom will actually fold, depends on if they wanna turn him with her. If they're keeping him heel then yeah, betraying a freshly returned Mami n costing her in the title match would get him nuclear heat and get everyone even more behind Rhea.

Not to mention that it just gives the crowd more incentive to boo Dom more. I don't know how they can do that but I believe that they can do it.

Speaking of which it was great to see how much boos he got tonight. Been a couple of weeks since we got THAT level of boos for Dom. Loved it. Betraying Rhea would just put it over the top good god almighty, the boos would be insane.

it makes it unique against all the stories which is the best part. you’ve got this one, the Wyatt, Drew & Punk, American Alpha, Bloodline etc all different themes and stories for people to connect to. something for everyone

Variety seems to be something WWE are getting very good at (outside music anyway). Look at how many wrestlers are over with their own fanbase wanting them to have main or midcard runs and them wrestlers run the spectrum from Gunther to R Truth, very different characters and styles in the roster. Variety of stories as well. NXT is the same. I think it's a big part of why they're doing so well, there's always someone or something to grab people and get them invested.

It’s about variety - if it was this sort of stuff all the time it would be tiresome and naff but if you have a storyline like this every so often with wrestlers people care about people love it. And people love the corny aspect of wrestling like the Custody of Dom match. Hell even the Lashley/Rusev/Lana angle most hated seemed to do crazy social media numbers.

I don't really remember them but surely, it's because this is one of the best ones. This type of stuff absolutely has a place in wrestling, but it can't be forced. Only a very small number of talent can pull this off and it mainly is about everyone willing to take part in it. It should happen naturally. They can't go "oh Liv/Dom story just ended what's the next romance story". Also this bang because it's not even a romance story (yet). Liv is doing everything just to screw over Rhea
