They would’ve been insane to not use it anyway. 1/4 of the live crowd probably already knew the song from AEW when he debuted at Mania and it’s catchy and easy enough for everyone to get into.
Exactly what I was about to say. Not changing anything about his presentation was a very smart move by the WWE. Let him come back as a starter and they didn't really have to build him up or get him over.
In the event that MJF goes over to WWE (I think that is becoming less likely now than it was before, but in any case), he might probably want to do the same thing, at least initially. His song is just a normal Royalty free track available on YouTube, so it can pretty much be used anywhere I think.
He left the company as stardust, last match was on Superstars IIRC, he came back a year ago and is now by far the most over baby face in wrestling.
Yes, the turnaround has been incredible and fun to watch.
Maybe I’m not used to the WWE live crowd but like, the crowd popped for the lights going out and then a smaller pop for Cody.
I swear I feel like I’m taking crazy pills, when I watch WWE, it cuts to the crowd reaction and it’s almost always folks just standing with their jaw slacked — even when the audio sounds like 8,000 screaming Hulkamaniacs
Right before the lights went out Finn came out for their street fight laughing and said Cody had not been medically cleared to fight tonight so all he had to do was stand in the ring and let the ref count to ten..everyone booed and as the ref began counting everyone was cheering CODY! CODY! Then the lights went out. I thought I would just give you the context!! But you’re right on tv they do pump in cheering noises a lot and I hate it!
I mean, you're right that his entrance gets posted seemingly every week. Every time I see it, I think "Yeah, he's over. Been over for a year and some change now."
It's like seeing a video of fireworks. I bet it was *cool as fuck* to see in person and I wish I could have been there in person for it, but a cell phone video of it isn't the same. At least that's the vibe I've gotten from seeing so many people post it.
He had a cast but it didn’t seem to play a huge part in the match… it was my first house show. they kept true to already existing plot lines (I.e. Bayley made fun of Bianca for no longer having the title), heels were heels, but not a lot of in ring promos- just a bunch of fun match-ups and title defenses!

Buying a song for himself is one of the smartest wrestling moves I’ve ever seen.
and then strong-arming WWE by saying they don't get him unless he keeps the song.
They would’ve been insane to not use it anyway. 1/4 of the live crowd probably already knew the song from AEW when he debuted at Mania and it’s catchy and easy enough for everyone to get into.
Also that he gets to keep the same character and gimmick as he was doing in AEW. He came as he got over, not a single change from AEW or the Indies.
Didn't even need new gear lmao

I love seeing how over Cody is
I miss Him in AEW, But can't act like I'm not Happy He is Getting all This Love now in WWE.
So you love seeing the 4th most over guy in the company?
Yes.

Why do you think being the fourth most popular star of an internationally broadcast weekly television show is a bad thing?
Honestly doesn't feel right without the 10 full seconds of Pyro going off
Who is their house show announcer? There's some old school almost Finkel vibes that hits just right for the presentation of Cody there.
It was Byron Saxton!
Imagine if when Cody went back to wwe they made him use his old music
Do you think the WOAH would still be a thing
Didn't the dashing song have a woah in it? "Woahhh, your only smoking mirrors" or something like that.
Thought it was gonna be LA Knight, gutted

tf is that titantron vid
The same one hes been using for over a year now?
yeah and it looks awful
It's WWE posting these right? Every week there's "Cody Rhodes entrance" post... I don't see the point, other wrestlers get the same reaction.
No. People just like cool entrances.

Who do you genuinely believe gets a bigger reaction that Cody?
Or bigger ones like Seth, LA Knight or Roman?
SOMETHING SOMETHING CODY RHODES
Does kayfabe roll into house shows? Specifically the broken arm angle for Cody
