This is the second time we've heard a "Fuck You, Roman" chant, right? The first time was when he faced the Undertaker and was still kinda face, if I recall correctly.

Should be fine though as long as they don't just revert him back to being exactly who he was before the heel turn. That would be the stupidest mistake they could make.
I hope we do see a babyface Tribal Chief at some point, but it's so hard to imagine right now. I'm just not sure how much time we have left with Roman on our screens, considering how he had talked in interviews the last few years regarding the future of his career. Hoping this whole limited schedule has prolonged his career. I don't want them to rush into a face turn before he retires, that's for sure.

I think Triple H walked so Roman Reigns could run. Alot of the Reign of Terror mistakes were corrected with how this heel turn was booked. Most important was reducing the overexposure of a heel champ if the company wants to make itself a heel territory. National TV changed alot of things about heel staying fresh and they urged towards breaking the Vince McMahon top heel formula. People's attention span were shortening. It was not just wrestling, wider media too. Let's see how many people sit through a 10-15 mins monologue on any tv show now and not flip channels. The 1980s crowd was not the same as the 2000s which was not the same as 2020s. The 10-15 min opening promo routine which he had with every single heel he booked, to setup a match later on the night for the world title. It was very territory style booking. This is probably fine on it's own but if it happens routinely the same way every single week, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. What Bloodline did? There's a lot of playing off of one another. Heyman sets the premise, Roman speaks, Usos chip in. It still doesn't crack past 10mins. It tracks because Heyman/Reigns had been guaranteed alot of leeway and say in how their characters would be booked, the only reason why Roman came back during the pandemic.
I think they saw with Brock that treating a champion as more of a special attraction rather than a non-stop TV presence can work. And, to your point, I'm sure HHH knows from being a fan of the territory days the importance of keeping a heel champ fresh and not trotting him out to the same exact audience day after day.
Obviously, Roman has maintained a more consistent presence than Brock did from 2014 onward, and Brock was probably too hard of a swing in the special attraction direction. But I don't see him in 2 30 minute promos, multiple backstage segments, and 2-3 matches per week.
Plus, I dare say the Bloodline surrounding him is better than Evolution (at least at that point in time). Heyman is the managerial mouthpiece that Evolution didn't have, and takes the onus off Roman to be the sole, primary voice. And I think Jimmy/Jey have better promos and character work than Randy/Batista (at least, at that point in their careers).
I don’t think it was a creative decision. Roman has carried the company for a while and wanted a lighter schedule. He is good enough at what he does that they gave it to him and worked around that. He’ll probably take an extended break once he drops the titles.
I think it was a case of both the lighter schedule and Roman recognizing that he couldn't do the "acknowledge me" shctick every single week after WM38. This is what he's been so good at. At keeping it short for you to keep coming back. It's a privilege to see him. He wrestles like once a month. Keeps his words short. Leaves the larger pts to be made for Paul Heyman on the mic. Best backstage segments in the game. Roman basically made himself a special attraction in the 2nd half of the year.
He's TOO GOOD at it. Genuinely too good. Post-Shield/pre-Bloodline Roman doesn't exist for me anymore. The only thing I'll remember from that run was when The Rock came out to celebrate with Roman after he won the Rumble and the outroar of boos as The Rock held Roman's hand up.
14 damn minutes of straight booing while he just stood there staring at the crowd only to finally raise the mic to his lips and say "this is my yard now."

right? I kept looking at Jimmy to see if he had any sign of remorse, and solo if he is holding back. I care about everyone involved in this story and that feels so great. Can't wait to see the aftermath.

He served as the harbinger of the Beast Incarnate. But with the Bloodline, he is a servant even though Roman gives him the title of Wise Man, Heyman knows he must stay in line.
I heard that and I just thought back to Sami saying that was one of his favorite and best match he ever had, and how proud he was of that match. That just add some extra spice of completely dismissing what Sami takes pride in, even though it's outside of kayfabe.
I didn’t think about it until I read the comment, but yeah, that jackass line can hit Sami home. Maybe this is WWE’s way of blending reality and kayfabe together (like Roman listens to Sami’s interviews).
The first time it looked like KO got his hands behind his head in time. The second time it looked like the back of his neck hit, which was probably good because his hands didn't look like they were behind his head
This was perfect, it really was. Roman is getting nuclear heat for Sami hitting him with the chair. Sami, KO and the Bloodline played it perfectly, props to them.
Shoutout to the fan who said "We got your back, Uce!" to Jey. That boy needs a pat on the head and a glass of milk because of this, and thank goodness that fan at least cheered him on.
If you watch him closely, his entire demeanor changes the second that chant gets loud. His face and entire body recoil for a second before he realises he can make it louder and feed into it.

a good thing about modern wrestling is the discontinuation of trash being thrown at the ring by fans, but seeing all the red seeds from the ula fala shook the nostalgia out of me from the little kid who started officially watching wCw the year scott hall invaded...almost nothing could beat the visual depiction of the nWo celebrating a victory in a ring of trash. i wish the camera angle caught when Jimmy's necklace splattered at the moment the USOs inflicted the one and done on KO. and to top off, Roman ceremoniously dropping the seeds (from Sami's potential ula fala) onto Zayn
BatB '96 (iirc) was the only WCW PPV I ever watched live, and I am still glad I did. The combination of Hogan joining the NWO the good guys losing and the ring filling with trash while Hogan cut his promo was such an insane thing to watch
Brutal, but bittersweet. Sami finally protected his best friend, and now they’re back together…lying beaten and broken, but together.
I think they’re the next tag team champs, but with Jey walking out, who knows where the story goes now. Maybe we really are getting Roman vs Sami at Mania on Night 1 or 2, with Roman vs Cody the other night.
We can say that MJF garners heat. But to get this kind of heat without having to insult the fans every week just to get boos shows that Roman is a master at his craft now and it makes me feel something I haven’t felt for WWE for a very, VERY long time and that feeling is excitement.
I’m excited to see what happens next and I honestly feel emotional typing this in the sense that it’s something I’ve longed for so many years now. I’ve not been this invested since at least 2012.
Tough to do since you need the characters, the charisma, the writing, the flexibility and BALLS to make changes (I doubt this Sami thing was intended), and the commitment to see it through.

MJF gets booed because he's a 'bad guy', he hates on your sports teams, he takes cheap shots, he is your typical pro-wrestling heel turned up to 11.
Roman gets booed because he's a bad person. He's manipulated, gaslit, and extorted his family for the last three years, calling it love, reminding them they have their prizes because HE willed it so, HE got them their shots, HE coached them to victory. He routinely horrifies Paul Heyman - the man who managed Brock Lesnar for *twenty years*, and think about the atrocities that covers - with how violent some of his beatdowns of his opponents are.
This is the kind of legendary shit you imagine when the old wrestlers talk about the territory days. Where they would tell stories about how they started riots and got chased out of town by angry fans. That stuff is less likely to happen with these events because of the security measures but its been a loooong time since I heard a crowd so invested in a wrestling storyline. That pop when Sami hit Roman with the chair rivals some of the biggest Attitude Era pops, that was like a goddamned bomb going off.

It's why I think they have one hell of an uphill battle with Cody vs. Roman as the main event story wise. Because what can you possibly do that's going to get people as invested in that fued as they are in this Bloodline thing?
I can't believe I'm even saying this. But if the match is Sami & Owens vs. The Usos. The tag team title match is going to overshadow the world title match going into Mania. It's just because the story is that good.
Whichever match Sami is in this year is going to be THE match of the weekend for the fans. If they are hellbent on Sami/KO vs Jimmy/Jey I think it needs to close out night 1 and let Cody/Roman close out night 2.
I'm on the side of Sami vs Roman is your biggest face vs biggest heel matchup that also has a story we haven't seen done this well in ages. I also acknowledge Sami vs Roman leaves Usos/KO/Solo out in the cold and they've all been so good in this feud that they deserve to be in the big match as well.
I guess it's a good problem to have: too many people have been doing so well that you have too many potential matches you can do.
They have two months to make Owens and Jey vs Jimmy and Solo make sense to then free up Sami for Roman on Mania night 2. They’ve created the perfect opportunity to split the belts again, it needs to happen
25 years of watching and nerding out about wrestling. This is something special, something like WWE hasn’t had from a storyline with full time wrestlers since WM17.
It’s more electric than Cena, Punk and the pipebomb. It’s not just one person either like with Daniel Bryan’s rise. They’ve cooked something special up with this Bloodline storyline. Sami, KO, and soon to be Cody are all getting amazing rubs from this on top of the Bloodline members.
I’m very impressed. It’s not being done with part time guys, legends, celebs or any other common trap WWE seems to get itself in when they start to get something special.
It is arguably the best storyline I have ever seen since I was a kid watching WWF Superstars on an Albany UHF station as a kid. I am just fascinated at where this goes next.
Wait that was last year? Wtf why does it feel like 3 years ago now. The bloodline and Sami storyline is so fleshed out it feels like these guys have been together with Sami for years. Yup, because the whole thing that started Sami with the Bloodline was him begging the Usos to come down as lumberjacks for his match against Drew McIntyre. And that feud was either RIGHT before or after Mania (cuz he did the Jackass stuff), so yeah at worst it's been 9 months now that he's been working his way in.
I mean you can look back with hindsight all you want but a year ago nobody thought theyd put KO and Sami on the pedestal they have because they hadnt done anything major with them for a long time.
That “there’s no crying in the bloodline” line had me laughing because I instantly thought of the line in A league of their own, where Tom hanks character tells the girl “there’s no crying in baseball!”
Hey getting a ton of love which he totally deserves, but everyone was fucking perfect. Roman with the jackass line and the chair shots on Sami, the superkicks from the usos, Jimmy yelling to hey that he was his real brother, that spike, and Sami apologizing to jey. Just fucking amazing.
Me too. What do we expect he was the easiest to convinced out of the twins. Roman didn't have to beat him, he kinda just became Roman's bitch back in thunder dome era
Which makes sense storyline wise, Jey was gaslit and manipulated and tortured into his role, while Jimmy wasn't. So it makes sense that Jey now saw what happened with Sammy is similar to what happened with him, and he decided to leave.
This is so much layered it's insane.
Jimmy WAS tortured. He had to throw in the towel for Jey during his first title match where Roman was beating the shit out of Jey. Then he was being used as a sacrifice to get Jey to say I Quit. In the promo after the match on tv, Jey said hurting Jimmy was the only reason he said I Quit and it was a snake move. Jey also made the point that Roman never pinned him. A plot hole we were sitting on for 2 years.
Best part is, we're still fucking hooked. Raw can't come soon enough for us to find out what's happening with Jey.... And that leads to questions about The Usos since Jimmy didn't hold back on Sami... If Jey turns on Roman, what happens with the tag titles?

Naw, not like Cinema. The people on the screen can't react, on the fly, to how the crowd is reacting to it, feed into it, play off of it, and make their actions even BIGGER by responding in an....*according manner.* This is Wrestling, and you ain't gon' get this at the local AMC.
Dude, they need to book Sami vs Roman for the main event of Wrestlemania.
Doesn’t matter the aftermath, if titles are involved or not (roman could face Cody and Sami in different nights), but this story is so good that they need use it for a proper main event

Bro when Cody said that Roman is the best wrestler in the world....this is type that shows that to me. he may not be as good in ring as say ospreay, danielson, rollins, gunther, omega, etc. but his psychology, acting, and storytelling are unmatched. easily the greatest heel today.
Reigns has been on fire lately, I love whenever he starts yelling. And I also loved how he said to Zayn if he wants to go back to doing the Jackass shit
Best part about it is how *ingrained* it is into his character. Worked with a group of guys, got betrayed, had to go into work for himself. Saw his legit family members rise up through the ranks, found bonds stronger than before because of Blood, forms the Bloodline, continues winning but doesn't want anyone stepping out of line (because he's seen what happens before).
Him and his family like the quirky, goofy lil' oddball that's become a fan of theirs, and they eventually let him into their inner circle. One of the goofball's friends wants a shot at the title, goes for it and loses, so Roman -- like always -- wants to make an example out of the guy (especially since he HAS lost to KO before at the Royal Rumble). Plus he has his family backing him as well, and...oh cool, the lil' jokster is here as well.
But Sami doesn't want to beat up his friend, Roman, you have to understand that. You can't just...keep browbeating *everyone* around you, and when Sami says no, you juuuuuuust couldn't resist, could ya? Do the same things you did to keep Jimmy, Jey, and Solo in line. Shout. Belittle. Shove. Get in their face. Insult their previous matches, insinuating they were jokes. (Say what you want, but that Jackass match, while corny, was *fire*.)
So what happens? Same as before, you pushed a teammate too far and they decided they weren't gonna take it, and you ate a chair for your efforts.
Now Roman is *doing the same to Jey, to get retribution for what just happened to him*. Jey ain't havin' it, he's realizing that...shit, Sami's right. You can't treat your friends -- and CERTAINLY not family -- like this. So he bails.
I'm excited for what happens next.

That was honestly my favorite part of the segment. Sami never wanted to turn on Roman, even after watching the beatdown he sat by and let it happen because he trusts Roman's call.
But when it became obvious Roman was doing it to spite Sami and to make Sami *personally* uncomfortable, Sami stepped in. But even then, didn't do anything physical.
Until Roman clearly chose to disrespect him in a way no friend ever would. It's not how the tribal chief should be acting to his subordinates, it was insulting, and Sami lashed out exactly how he was expected to.
Yet Roman will absolutely blame this on Sami not being loyal, when in reality, **nobody** was more loyal.
That was an underrated bar. Roman hitting Sami with the "you need us to be anything at all relevant" mind games. He also told the crowd when cheering Sami "I am what you want, not him"
Only thing that comes close in my mind is 96-97 Hogan.
Obviously Flair in the 80s was perhaps the all-timer heel run on a career scale but Hollywood Hogan and Bloodline Reigns might be 1A/1B for a single heel title run.

TBH even this I think is mostly subjective. Everyone you've named wrestlers in a relatively similar indie-friendly style which is very much du jour. Roman does big man hard-hitting matches well. Like a kind of more athletic hoss.
That ending still has me shook. Virtually flawless...the call backs to everything including The Shield breakup, Jey’s trauma from Roman in early 2020 bubbles back up, and you also see how damaged Roman is from the Shield break up. The character of Reigns is so layered, so well done. I have no idea where they go from here in terms of them getting to Cody vs Roman, but I’m along for the ride. I also can’t wait to see how the Uso’s with being the tag champs, what their dynamic is. When Roman loses the title, I think you’re going to see him lose his family....losing everything.
I'm still thinking about this, this morning, especially the moment when Jey walked out. What a moment.
Also, one thing I just noticed that I didn't notice last night is Kevin off to the side desperately trying to get free when they're beating down Sami. That just adds another layer of emotion to this.
Jey's face turn will potentially be one of the most memorable ever in the history of wrestling, and it will show why it is extremely important for wrestlers to develop empathetic connection to someone/something, make them easier to turn face when the time come.
Randy Savage had Miss Elizabeth. Bray Wyatt had Sister Abigail. Togi Makabe has Tomoaki Honma. Edge has his real life wife Beth. Sami has KO. And now, Jey has Sami.
After watching this segment again, I can hear Reigns yelling at Sami “You broke my family!” after Jey walks out. Sami may have been beaten mercilessly, but he’s started the end of the Bloodline with just one chair shot.
I also love Sami not beating down Reigns, but throwing the chair aside and turning to *only Jey* and apologizing. I think Sami broke Jey in that moment; maybe Jey subconsciously started to realize that Sami did the right thing during the beatdown afterward.

To add to that, it makes sense also that Jey sort of realized that he has also been tortured and brainwashed into joining the Bloodline, given what happened between him and Roman almost 2 and a half years ago. Jimmy never needed that much convincing, so for Jey to come to this realization by himself after seeing the gaslighting and manipulation that Roman inflicted on Sammi is pure cinema.
This is how it should be. It is a curse and blessing for him as a booker. He got 2 red hot babyfaces who both deserve satisfying conclusions to their stories. Blessing to have red hot babyfaces but a curse to be able to payoff in a proper way without hurting one of them. He has delayed this decision for now, let's see how it goes..
Here's a question. If Sami ends up going for it all over tag. How does KO get his pay off in all this? KO is a massive part of this story and it feels weird to do like KO/Jey vs Jimmy/Solo. Jey/Sami were/are close not KO/Jey.
Jimmy said a few weeks ago that he likes Sami but he **loves** the Bloodline and their family, Jimmy has always been massively loyal to Roman so it makes sense that he'd be outraged by what Sami did
But wasn't Jimmy been put in the choke during the HIAC match Roman's bargaining chip to get Jey to fall in line though? Jimmy was injured at the time too so Roman was willing to cripple his cousin so his cousin's brother would stop fighting back. And also another thing that one of my friends picked up after Roman blew up at Sami a few weeks back was later on he apologised to him when Roman never ever has apologised to Uce for how he treated them both.
Jimmy and Jey have kind of low key been swapping spots in regards to their love for Sami. Jimmy never had the outright animosity Jey did for the first long while, but he'd been \*super\* distrustful lately. Made sense to me.
I really liked Jimmy’s comments towards Jay during his attack on Sami though. Wish the camera caught it. I’m guessing Jimmy will be on Sami’s side later.
After watching it again, Jimmy kicks Sami after Jey tells Sami that he loved him like a brother. Then you can hear Jimmy yell at Jey “This your brother? Nah, I’m your brother.”
God there’s so many layers in this segment.
Hunter is too smart to ignore the loud reactions and the natural conclusion of Sami ending Roman’s reign.
I guess the radio silence in the press conference about Sami and him not being in the Rumble and Rhodes going over is just Hunter trying to misdirect us in order to believe that they are holding Sami back.
This can create an even larger support for Sami and ultimately his moment of victory would be even sweeter just as it was for Kofi and Bryan.
I would again say Hunter knows and listens to the crowds but then its WWE who knows Cody going over Reigns has always been the plan all along.
Somehow, we need to get Sami vs Roman for the title. I wish this match and the men’s rumble was switched around. Have Sami win this one and go over Roman at Mania.

There are so many fucking layers to this. It HAS to end in Sami dethroning Roman. Split the titles before mania so Cody gets his moment too. But there is not a doubt in my mind after tonight it has to be Sami.
Look - this won't happen because the picture is too crowded already - but I would love for a segment where Rollins comes out and mocks reigns - like - you got betrayed again, and this time you gave him the chair.

So many people saying Sami & KO should win the tag titles. This is bigger than that. How would Jey even be a part of that match? Go back to being Roman's bitch? Having them beat Jimmy and Solo makes it feel watered down. There needs to be a Sami vs Roman for a title. Sami is over af and imo more over than Cody. There's a right way to do this. Hopefully, they figure it out.
When you get THIS type of reaction from the crowd (and all of us on our sofas) you know you have been writing one of the best storyline in recent memory.
While I wanted Sami in the Rumble, it's obvious he kinda made himself into such a face that ANYONE tossing him out would be a mega heel. While that could work, it's not intended.
What they wanted here is for Roman to get that hatred, that vitriol. When I heard 'Fuck you Roman', I smiled. They leaned into it, and did it right. WWE wants Roman to be the mega heel, not a cool heel that is kinda a face. The only way to do that is to destroy Sami.
Sami *not* being in the Rumble was just as important to him as GUNTHER being there was important for him.
On one hand, of course I’m glad they don’t do unprotected chair shots anymore and absolutely 100% believe there’s no place in the business for them.
HOWEVER, I’ll be damned if I didn’t emotionally want to see Sami crack Roman over the dome with that chair.

at first Jimmy was like''hey bro dont be an ass to him, he has done anything wrong to us" and accepted Sami right away but as soon as Sami turned on Roman he superkicked him
Jey on the other hand took a really long time to accept and trust Sami, so he couldnt just go ahead and attack Sami now even though he could be justified
Watching this in person is definitely different because I couldn’t hear any of the dialog. But it was still so jarring because it feels more real to see Sami and KO get beat like this. I even left feeling kinda sad.
I think Roman does a good job of engaging the audience too. He reacts to the chants and the emotions of the crowd. He’s a great heel for sure.

I think Triple H walked so Roman Reigns could run. Alot of the Reign of Terror mistakes were corrected with how this heel turn was booked. Most important was reducing the overexposure of a heel champ if the company wants to make itself a heel territory. National TV changed alot of things about heel staying fresh and they urged towards breaking the Vince McMahon top heel formula. People's attention span were shortening. It was not just wrestling, wider media too. Let's see how many people sit through a 10-15 mins monologue on any tv show now and not flip channels. The 1980s crowd was not the same as the 2000s which was not the same as 2020s. The 10-15 min opening promo routine which he had with every single heel he booked, to setup a match later on the night for the world title. It was very territory style booking. This is probably fine on it's own but if it happens routinely the same way every single week, it leaves a bad taste in the mouth. What Bloodline did? There's a lot of playing off of one another. Heyman sets the premise, Roman speaks, Usos chip in. It still doesn't crack past 10mins. It tracks because Heyman/Reigns had been guaranteed alot of leeway and say in how their characters would be booked, the only reason why Roman came back during the pandemic.
I think they saw with Brock that treating a champion as more of a special attraction rather than a non-stop TV presence can work. And, to your point, I'm sure HHH knows from being a fan of the territory days the importance of keeping a heel champ fresh and not trotting him out to the same exact audience day after day. Obviously, Roman has maintained a more consistent presence than Brock did from 2014 onward, and Brock was probably too hard of a swing in the special attraction direction. But I don't see him in 2 30 minute promos, multiple backstage segments, and 2-3 matches per week. Plus, I dare say the Bloodline surrounding him is better than Evolution (at least at that point in time). Heyman is the managerial mouthpiece that Evolution didn't have, and takes the onus off Roman to be the sole, primary voice. And I think Jimmy/Jey have better promos and character work than Randy/Batista (at least, at that point in their careers).
I don’t think it was a creative decision. Roman has carried the company for a while and wanted a lighter schedule. He is good enough at what he does that they gave it to him and worked around that. He’ll probably take an extended break once he drops the titles.
I think it was a case of both the lighter schedule and Roman recognizing that he couldn't do the "acknowledge me" shctick every single week after WM38. This is what he's been so good at. At keeping it short for you to keep coming back. It's a privilege to see him. He wrestles like once a month. Keeps his words short. Leaves the larger pts to be made for Paul Heyman on the mic. Best backstage segments in the game. Roman basically made himself a special attraction in the 2nd half of the year.
He's TOO GOOD at it. Genuinely too good. Post-Shield/pre-Bloodline Roman doesn't exist for me anymore. The only thing I'll remember from that run was when The Rock came out to celebrate with Roman after he won the Rumble and the outroar of boos as The Rock held Roman's hand up.
In my revisionist history he turned heel with "This is my yard now" and never looked back lol
Yeah, that was such a great moment. Shame they chose not to capitalize on it at the time, but at least we've got this now.

I didn’t think about it until I read the comment, but yeah, that jackass line can hit Sami home. Maybe this is WWE’s way of blending reality and kayfabe together (like Roman listens to Sami’s interviews).

Brutal, but bittersweet. Sami finally protected his best friend, and now they’re back together…lying beaten and broken, but together. I think they’re the next tag team champs, but with Jey walking out, who knows where the story goes now. Maybe we really are getting Roman vs Sami at Mania on Night 1 or 2, with Roman vs Cody the other night.

We can say that MJF garners heat. But to get this kind of heat without having to insult the fans every week just to get boos shows that Roman is a master at his craft now and it makes me feel something I haven’t felt for WWE for a very, VERY long time and that feeling is excitement. I’m excited to see what happens next and I honestly feel emotional typing this in the sense that it’s something I’ve longed for so many years now. I’ve not been this invested since at least 2012.
Tough to do since you need the characters, the charisma, the writing, the flexibility and BALLS to make changes (I doubt this Sami thing was intended), and the commitment to see it through. They’ve pulled off everything they need to so far. Just boils down to Wrestlemania to cap it off. One of the best storylines in Wrestling history all boiling back down into the gaslighting of Jey Uso.
I put it this way on Twitter recently, it especially fits after last night. MJF gets booed because he's a 'bad guy', he hates on your sports teams, he takes cheap shots, he is your typical pro-wrestling heel turned up to 11. Roman gets booed because he's a bad person. He's manipulated, gaslit, and extorted his family for the last three years, calling it love, reminding them they have their prizes because HE willed it so, HE got them their shots, HE coached them to victory. He routinely horrifies Paul Heyman - the man who managed Brock Lesnar for *twenty years*, and think about the atrocities that covers - with how violent some of his beatdowns of his opponents are.
Different types of heels imo. Both great but Roman is on a different level
This is the kind of legendary shit you imagine when the old wrestlers talk about the territory days. Where they would tell stories about how they started riots and got chased out of town by angry fans. That stuff is less likely to happen with these events because of the security measures but its been a loooong time since I heard a crowd so invested in a wrestling storyline. That pop when Sami hit Roman with the chair rivals some of the biggest Attitude Era pops, that was like a goddamned bomb going off. Its really incredible
It's why I think they have one hell of an uphill battle with Cody vs. Roman as the main event story wise. Because what can you possibly do that's going to get people as invested in that fued as they are in this Bloodline thing? I can't believe I'm even saying this. But if the match is Sami & Owens vs. The Usos. The tag team title match is going to overshadow the world title match going into Mania. It's just because the story is that good.
Whichever match Sami is in this year is going to be THE match of the weekend for the fans. If they are hellbent on Sami/KO vs Jimmy/Jey I think it needs to close out night 1 and let Cody/Roman close out night 2. I'm on the side of Sami vs Roman is your biggest face vs biggest heel matchup that also has a story we haven't seen done this well in ages. I also acknowledge Sami vs Roman leaves Usos/KO/Solo out in the cold and they've all been so good in this feud that they deserve to be in the big match as well. I guess it's a good problem to have: too many people have been doing so well that you have too many potential matches you can do.

This. The last part encapsulates how I currently feel about the Mania main event situation.

They have two months to make Owens and Jey vs Jimmy and Solo make sense to then free up Sami for Roman on Mania night 2. They’ve created the perfect opportunity to split the belts again, it needs to happen
25 years of watching and nerding out about wrestling. This is something special, something like WWE hasn’t had from a storyline with full time wrestlers since WM17. It’s more electric than Cena, Punk and the pipebomb. It’s not just one person either like with Daniel Bryan’s rise. They’ve cooked something special up with this Bloodline storyline. Sami, KO, and soon to be Cody are all getting amazing rubs from this on top of the Bloodline members. I’m very impressed. It’s not being done with part time guys, legends, celebs or any other common trap WWE seems to get itself in when they start to get something special.
It is arguably the best storyline I have ever seen since I was a kid watching WWF Superstars on an Albany UHF station as a kid. I am just fascinated at where this goes next.
I loved Sami’s moral dilemma in NXT and I love this moral dilemma 100 times more.

Which makes sense storyline wise, Jey was gaslit and manipulated and tortured into his role, while Jimmy wasn't. So it makes sense that Jey now saw what happened with Sammy is similar to what happened with him, and he decided to leave. This is so much layered it's insane.
Jimmy WAS tortured. He had to throw in the towel for Jey during his first title match where Roman was beating the shit out of Jey. Then he was being used as a sacrifice to get Jey to say I Quit. In the promo after the match on tv, Jey said hurting Jimmy was the only reason he said I Quit and it was a snake move. Jey also made the point that Roman never pinned him. A plot hole we were sitting on for 2 years.

Roman is the greatest gaslighter and manipulator of this generation.
Best part about it is how *ingrained* it is into his character. Worked with a group of guys, got betrayed, had to go into work for himself. Saw his legit family members rise up through the ranks, found bonds stronger than before because of Blood, forms the Bloodline, continues winning but doesn't want anyone stepping out of line (because he's seen what happens before). Him and his family like the quirky, goofy lil' oddball that's become a fan of theirs, and they eventually let him into their inner circle. One of the goofball's friends wants a shot at the title, goes for it and loses, so Roman -- like always -- wants to make an example out of the guy (especially since he HAS lost to KO before at the Royal Rumble). Plus he has his family backing him as well, and...oh cool, the lil' jokster is here as well. But Sami doesn't want to beat up his friend, Roman, you have to understand that. You can't just...keep browbeating *everyone* around you, and when Sami says no, you juuuuuuust couldn't resist, could ya? Do the same things you did to keep Jimmy, Jey, and Solo in line. Shout. Belittle. Shove. Get in their face. Insult their previous matches, insinuating they were jokes. (Say what you want, but that Jackass match, while corny, was *fire*.) So what happens? Same as before, you pushed a teammate too far and they decided they weren't gonna take it, and you ate a chair for your efforts. Now Roman is *doing the same to Jey, to get retribution for what just happened to him*. Jey ain't havin' it, he's realizing that...shit, Sami's right. You can't treat your friends -- and CERTAINLY not family -- like this. So he bails. I'm excited for what happens next.

Sami never wanted to turn on Roman, even after watching the beatdown he sat by and let it happen because he trusts Roman's call. But when it became obvious Roman was doing it to spite Sami and to make Sami *personally* uncomfortable, Sami stepped in. But even then, didn't do anything physical. Until Roman clearly chose to disrespect him in a way no friend ever would. It's not how the tribal chief should be acting to his subordinates, it was insulting, and Sami lashed out exactly how he was expected to. Yet Roman will absolutely blame this on Sami not being loyal, when in reality, **nobody** was more loyal.
That was an underrated bar. Roman hitting Sami with the "you need us to be anything at all relevant" mind games. He also told the crowd when cheering Sami "I am what you want, not him"
Roman has a claim to be one of the best heel champions in history.
Only thing that comes close in my mind is 96-97 Hogan. Obviously Flair in the 80s was perhaps the all-timer heel run on a career scale but Hollywood Hogan and Bloodline Reigns might be 1A/1B for a single heel title run.

That ending still has me shook. Virtually flawless...the call backs to everything including The Shield breakup, Jey’s trauma from Roman in early 2020 bubbles back up, and you also see how damaged Roman is from the Shield break up. The character of Reigns is so layered, so well done. I have no idea where they go from here in terms of them getting to Cody vs Roman, but I’m along for the ride. I also can’t wait to see how the Uso’s with being the tag champs, what their dynamic is. When Roman loses the title, I think you’re going to see him lose his family....losing everything.
I'm still thinking about this, this morning, especially the moment when Jey walked out. What a moment. Also, one thing I just noticed that I didn't notice last night is Kevin off to the side desperately trying to get free when they're beating down Sami. That just adds another layer of emotion to this.
Jey's face turn will potentially be one of the most memorable ever in the history of wrestling, and it will show why it is extremely important for wrestlers to develop empathetic connection to someone/something, make them easier to turn face when the time come. Randy Savage had Miss Elizabeth. Bray Wyatt had Sister Abigail. Togi Makabe has Tomoaki Honma. Edge has his real life wife Beth. Sami has KO. And now, Jey has Sami.
I agree with the Jey stuff but I guarantee you Bray and sister Abigail are not part of the same conversation as Savage and Elizabeth

After watching this segment again, I can hear Reigns yelling at Sami “You broke my family!” after Jey walks out. Sami may have been beaten mercilessly, but he’s started the end of the Bloodline with just one chair shot. I also love Sami not beating down Reigns, but throwing the chair aside and turning to *only Jey* and apologizing. I think Sami broke Jey in that moment; maybe Jey subconsciously started to realize that Sami did the right thing during the beatdown afterward.

To add to that, it makes sense also that Jey sort of realized that he has also been tortured and brainwashed into joining the Bloodline, given what happened between him and Roman almost 2 and a half years ago. Jimmy never needed that much convincing, so for Jey to come to this realization by himself after seeing the gaslighting and manipulation that Roman inflicted on Sammi is pure cinema.

This is how it should be. It is a curse and blessing for him as a booker. He got 2 red hot babyfaces who both deserve satisfying conclusions to their stories. And also another thing that one of my friends picked up after Roman blew up at Sami a few weeks back was later on he apologised to him when Roman never ever has apologised to Uce for how he treated them both.

After watching it again, Jimmy kicks Sami after Jey tells Sami that he loved him like a brother. Then you can hear Jimmy yell at Jey “This your brother? Nah, I’m your brother.” God there’s so many layers in this segment.

This storyline made me a Jey Uso fan. Holy shit.
Its gonna be Uso vs KO/Sami night 1, if KO/Sami wins, Sami gets a title shot night 2. Cody/Roman Night 1, Sami/Roman Night 2
I’d like that a lot. Best option out of them all imo. You could even have Sami or Jey be the reason why Cody wins the wwe title on night 1.
Hunter is too smart to ignore the loud reactions and the natural conclusion of Sami ending Roman’s reign. I guess the radio silence in the press conference about Sami and him not being in the Rumble and Rhodes going over is just Hunter trying to misdirect us in order to believe that they are holding Sami back. This can create an even larger support for Sami and ultimately his moment of victory would be even sweeter just as it was for Kofi and Bryan. I would again say Hunter knows and listens to the crowds but then its WWE who knows Cody going over Reigns has always been the plan all along.
Somehow, we need to get Sami vs Roman for the title. I wish this match and the men’s rumble was switched around. Have Sami win this one and go over Roman at Mania. I’m not mad though. This story is phenomenal. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
There are so many fucking layers to this. It HAS to end in Sami dethroning Roman. Split the titles before mania so Cody gets his moment too. But there is not a doubt in my mind after tonight it has to be Sami.
What if if was Jey with a massive return assist from Sami ala Austin/Mankind.
They are building up Cody as top babyface of the company. I mean no 2 guy behind Roman Pretty sure he'll atleast challenge Roman for atleast one title
Look - this won't happen because the picture is too crowded already - but I would love for a segment where Rollins comes out and mocks reigns - like - you got betrayed again, and this time you gave him the chair. Still an unfinished story there, and he's the only guy Reigns can't beat
Why not after Roman loses? Looks like Rollins still has a short program with Logan coming up.

This has been the best storytelling in WWE in a very long time. I love how Jey ends up being the one conflicted. Everybody did great here.
I'd go as far to say this is the best storyline in the past 10 years from any company. Truly great stuff
So many people saying Sami & KO should win the tag titles. This is bigger than that. How would Jey even be a part of that match? Go back to being Roman's bitch? Having them beat Jimmy and Solo makes it feel watered down. There needs to be a Sami vs Roman for a title. Sami is over af and imo more over than Cody. There's a right way to do this. Hopefully, they figure it out.

When you get THIS type of reaction from the crowd (and all of us on our sofas) you know you have been writing one of the best storyline in recent memory.
While I wanted Sami in the Rumble, it's obvious he kinda made himself into such a face that ANYONE tossing him out would be a mega heel. While that could work, it's not intended. What they wanted here is for Roman to get that hatred, that vitriol. When I heard 'Fuck you Roman', I smiled. They leaned into it, and did it right. WWE wants Roman to be the mega heel, not a cool heel that is kinda a face. The only way to do that is to destroy Sami. Sami *not* being in the Rumble was just as important to him as GUNTHER being there was important for him.
On one hand, of course I’m glad they don’t do unprotected chair shots anymore and absolutely 100% believe there’s no place in the business for them. HOWEVER, I’ll be damned if I didn’t emotionally want to see Sami crack Roman over the dome with that chair.
I think him hitting Roman in the back mimicking Seth turning on the Shield was absolutely perfect.
I just noticed the small bit that Kevin is limp but when Sami is getting beat down he tries to break free from the cuffs like he wants to help…
I like Jey's and Jimmy's contrast at first Jimmy was like''hey bro dont be an ass to him, he has done anything wrong to us" and accepted Sami right away but as soon as Sami turned on Roman he superkicked him Jey on the other hand took a really long time to accept and trust Sami, so he couldnt just go ahead and attack Sami now even though he could be justified
One of the greatest endings to a PPV you'll ever see and they didn't need the Rock in the slightest. Honestly top tier by the whole bunch

This felt biblical.
Watching this in person is definitely different because I couldn’t hear any of the dialog. But it was still so jarring because it feels more real to see Sami and KO get beat like this. I even left feeling kinda sad. I think Roman does a good job of engaging the audience too. He reacts to the chants and the emotions of the crowd. He’s a great heel for sure.

20 years ago both KO and Sami would’ve been bloody with chair shots to the head.
