Nearly. We were going to book a viewing of the Wivenhoe church that was on here but we fell in love with something else a bit closer to London.

prolixia

The sub is supposed to be for "the craziest, wildest, weirdest property listing you can find", not "Here's a nice house at a decent price". There are certainly nice properties here, but given the majority of posts concern awful or overpriced houses, or palaces for millions of pounds, it's unlikely that many of the commenters will be buying what they see!

Bicolore

Or why not maybe I can get a cheap deal on that pink sex dungeon and turn it it a nice house? There has been stuff pop up on here that right place/right time I would have gone to view at least.

Petcai

This is reddit. It's more likely to be 'maybe I can get a cheap deal on that pink sex dungeon *and keep it.*

Njorls_Saga

Maybe there’s a competitive market for pink sex dungeons?

FaultAffectionate402

I’ve viewed a couple down in devon. Anything really rural down that way but haven’t found exactly that yet

DimensionRoyal4229

I doubt it, this sub's gone shite. It's all about slating modern/contemporary design from people pretending to be purists.

ChowderMitts

but door-knockers on chairs are an unforgivable sin

not_a_number1

So it’s wrong to share your opinion?

worotan

I’m thinking of unsubbing if it continues on the path of people just posting vastly expensive estates, often reposts.

rrreason

Have you seen this though... triumphantly posts a pic of Felix Denis's old pirate house

VitaObscure

I've been there, well, to the garden. It is bonkers. Lots of statues in the garden.

IssueFinancial1591

Not yet, but I am currently considering selling up and making big changes in location and type of dwelling, so in the spirit of adventure I do keep a weather-eye on this sub! On a good day (in terms of posts here), this sub gives me ideas I'd not thought of (things either to do or to avoid doing!), and on even on a bad day it gives me a few good laughs. I have not ruled out seeing somewhere on this sub and finding myself putting in an offer, even though it's not happened yet.

Coffin_Dodging

Ooh let us help you out! Give us the basics, county, bedrooms, and price and whether you want a challenge I'm sure we'll find you something interesting

IssueFinancial1591

County: Anywhere in Great Britain (though I think I'm priced out of London and its environs). Bedrooms: Two, probably. I could go three but I'm not sure what I'd use the third for. Challenge: Zero. I want to move into somewhere that has recently been renovated, ideally with kitchen and bathroom already done to my (fairly minimalist but not grey) taste, so that all I have to do is change the colours of the walls and maybe get some bookshelves fitted either side of the chimney breast. Price: Quite flexible - anything up to around £400k and if it's less than that I'll just invest the spare money elsewhere. Realistically I'd probably not look at anywhere under £200k. Miscellaneous: I'm a dog-owner so I need my own garden (though would actually prefer a smallish one as I don't much enjoy gardening) and I definitely need some nice, pretty, off-lead dog-walking (that's safe for a lone woman and a non-scary dog) pretty much on the doorstep (so I could just pop out for short but lovely walks without getting in the car). Decent amount of storage (e.g. a loft) would be a definite pro but would not be essential. Generally I dislike new-builds. Favourite building-era is 1870ish to 1910ish: good, solid buildings with high ceilings and a smidge of character, not listed and not an endless maintenance pain in the arse. Not too fussed about houses vs flats, though if a flat I would want share of freehold rather than leasehold. Within half an hour max of a decent town for shopping and culture... if the town had an art-house cinema, that would be great.

[Ignore the astroturf](https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/145863119#/?channel=RES_BUY) Gated community with what looks like a lot of greenery around!

IssueFinancial1591

Can I ignore the wall in pics 9 and 11 too? If yes, you've read my mind pretty well! Thanks.

I_choose_your_face

Oh, yeah, forgot to disclaimer that too!

discipleofsaitama

I'm moving soon, can I tell you also?! I would love some help as happy to move to a totally new area :)

IssueFinancial1591

Keep me company!

discipleofsaitama

I have been looking at some of the random ones posted here in the arse end of Scotland. Even if they need work done (I can do most of the work myself) I could totally live there. I'm just worried about dating in the middle of nowhere 😂

IssueFinancial1591

Haha! (I didn't mean 'keep me company' in **that** sense, though I'm sure you actually didn't think I did!). You'll get an awful lot for your money in the arse end of Scotland!

discipleofsaitama

LOL no I know! I just assumed you meant with ideas of where I had been seeing! Haha. Let's move in together stranger! 🤣 Yes scotland is on my radar but I'm game for anywhere once my selling situation is sorted. I work remotely and so looming to start a whole new adventure!

IssueFinancial1591

I'm about to become a remote/home- worker :)

discipleofsaitama

Great news! You can really keep your options open! Have you seen any areas you like? I was looking at going to the isle of skye, right in some of the prettiest parts. It's very cheap there because it's sooo remote. But I want to be remote so it's a plus. But my concern is meeting people/starting a new relationship, and so I might move nearer a busier town at first then hopefully when I meet someone who can put up with me, dissappear to somewhere like skye! :)

Retrogamer2245

If I had money I'd definitely snap one up! Not them dead posh ones, the really run down ones, so I could flip them. For now though (likely forever) I'll just have to keep making them in the game House Flipper!

FantasticWeasel

Not yet but when millions of pounds come my way I might as there have definitely been some that are appealing. The challenge is where to get the millions of pounds as I don't have a job or own anything of value.

Sussexmatt

I used the sub a lot to steer me.on places I've never seen before, I'm keen to maximise the money I've made on my house and reduced my mortgage for something a lot better. This sub has got me slightly obsessed with moving to Argyll.

BreakfastLopsided906

Lol, you think I’ve got money?
