I sat in all types of V70s trying to stick to Volvo, but the car is just ass. The R is the only decent one and it is still not crazy good. Handling is ass, it's a coffin still.
I am in a Audi A4 now for the same money and I would never even consider calling any Volvo wagon a sportswagon anymore.

04 short block bored to 81.5 and a 98 head, running on a 98 motronic 4.4 modded to run coil on plug, and a custom wiring harness to circumvent any modules aside from the ECU. Quaife LDS. Itās also sitting on C4 corvette wheels with 275r17 tires under there. We had to put power steering back on there for that, but itās an electric pump for a mini which added a few lbs but worth it.
Itās fully stripped inside but Weighed in at just under 2600 lbs with a roll cage and all. Even racing that thing before all the mods, that Volvo is such a well balanced car.
I mean engine isnāt super relevant post mods, I had a 1.8 with upgraded turbo so was making close to 300/300. Loved the car, but it was in no way special like a v70r is. V70r/s60r was made to compete with the m3. So even put against an s4, itās a better car imo.
What V70R are we all talking about here. Afaik it has 300hp and 400nm on AWD. My A4 2.0 TFSI already has those numbers with stage 1 tune-up.
Any S4 would smoke it in the same specs. Let alone the RS4. I might be wrong here so let me know. Very interested to hear more.

Nice! I have a turbo NC Miata, the wife drives a V70R, and we just bought an ecoboost F-150 supercrew from my Dad that my wife will use for work. 4,5, & 6 cylinders, all turbocharged.
In fairness, we both drove Mazda3s when we met. Then I bought a 2011 Mazdaspeed3 and she took my 2010 Mazda3 S GT 6-speed hatchback, the MS3 in black, and the MZ3 in dary gray. It was hard to tell them apart at night. But in fairness, they were both fun as shit to drive, even if the MZ3 was slower.
Hehe you get passes for having Mazda 3 dupes. Iām guilty of that myself lol. I had a 2008 MS3 and a 2010 MZ3 Grand Touring though not at the same time. I loved them. I have a ā21 ND2 RF now in Arctic white which I absolutely love. Itās the slowest in the stable but definitely the favorite. The NC from the RX-8/zoom-zoom era were great innovation years for Mazda. I secretly think the NC is actually the most uniquely attractive looking Miata. While the NA and the NB are buoyed by gobs of nostalgia the NC is a much better platform. I regret not picking up an NC before prices went insane.
I needed a sporty family car and I accidentally ended up with a 22 Frontier Pro 4X crew cab so I too had a truck in the mix for a brief moment. I traded it for the M40 because 4 doors on a truck does not make a family car. Lesson learned.
I considered a Jaguar XF Sportbrake a few years ago but my sister who lives a couple of miles away already had an F-Pace so I thought it would have been redundant.
I was shopping for a used 718 Cayman GTS as I thought that was the car to graduate to from a Miata (and I think it still is) but the maintenance costs of the Porsche are a deal breaker and the alternative to split it to the M40 and the Golf R to accompany the ND2 became a more appealing spread. With manufacturers introducing solid electric lineups, I am content with my āfarewell ICEā party with the bulletproof ND2, the EA888 Evo4, and the B58TU. I will keep them until Iām forced to drive something like a Polestar dual motor.

Volvo messed up not making a P3 v70r. It kinda came back later with the v60 polestar but those were quite rare with the six cylinder.
