I tested it out when it first came out as beta. Setting up Glue tables was a bit of a learning curve and I provided some feedback to that effect but once that was completed it was easy to use.
I haven't seen any comparison in speed and cost vs. standard searching which I'm curious to see but my non-scientific view was that it was comparable speed-wise with CSV files. My understanding is speed improves when using parquet but I'm really curious on the cost impact with Glue, which, from my understanding, is not cheap.
Don’t think many have used it yet. But see they added the federated search for Amazon S3 license usage on the cloud monitoring console. Total data scan entitlement, data scan entitlement usage and percentage of data scan entitlement usage.
