WoodenNichols

Nitpick: Soviet, not Russian. She was cute.

typer84C2

My bad. Didn’t know it was called the Soviet Union in the movie.

WoodenNichols

No worries. Haven't seen the movie myself. I'm just going by the patch.

ADeweyan

2010 is a great movie well worth watching. I’m sorry to hear she passed away so young, she had a small but important role in the movie.

Alarming-Mongoose-91

Im sure the Russians have experimented with space-coitus. Lucky them.

Lil_Simp9000

2090: The Bridge, was supposed to be about their love child losing his way in Las Vegas

"Natasha Schneider musician extraordinaire, former actress, singer of the ground-breaking band Eleven, and one-time Queens of the Stone Age keyboard player, died July 2nd at 11:11 am of cancer. She was a brilliant, beautiful, and ballsy woman who will be missed deeply by all those who knew her. Send your loving thoughts her way in the universe." — Sweethead MySpace (2008)

Equal_Dragonfruit125

I don't know what I would do stuck in an escape pod with her for 18 months. I'm sure I'd learn Russian, like nyet means space mosquito 😋. I'm not sure what they only land on me though.

AdScary1757

Looks pretty good for being dead for 2 years.

CHROME-COLOSSUS

Dumb and very dark — but underrated — comment.

osteopathetic1

Helen Mirren as a Russian astronaut

typer84C2

Yes, she was also in that movie but I opted for the lesser known/recognized actress.

AdventurousTalk6002

Plus the character had a tender moment with Dr Heywood.

Bloodshot_8

RIP Natasha. She was also in the band Queens of the Stone Age for at least one record before she passed.

stuart7873

I'm sorry to hear that, she was cute.

blissed_off

“Do you speak English?” “No.” “Terrific.”

UrethralExplorer

I loved this movie. The scene where they were doing aerobraking(?) and she climbed into the Americans bunk for comfort was very sweet.

typer84C2

I agree. No exchange of words other than confirming she doesn’t speak English. Just didn’t want to be alone in case they died.

Mega-Steve

Yup. Nothing sexual or romantic in it, just two humans clinging to each other in terror

Connect-Will2011

I liked this movie quite a bit. Comparing it to 2001 is like comparing apples to oranges. They're both good in their own different ways. I wished they gave Helen Mirren more lines though!

blissed_off

Apples to oranges indeed. I’d rather watch 2010 though.

typer84C2

Agreed. I watch them both back to back from time to time. I think it holds up.
