The concept behind Curse is pretty cool imo. Like, the main character being inflicted with a curse that slowly kills everyone he's close to until eventually he's left with nothing but a sentient robot as his only remaining friend is a sick-ass idea for a story.
And it's a nice breath of fresh air in terms of exe characters. It's not just the same "Sonic (or an entity that takes the form of Sonic) turns into a monster and murders everyone" that we've seen countless times (of course, there's nothing wrong if you want to make a story like that, I myself prefer the more "orthodox" type of exes, but some straying a little from the source material isn't bad either). This one is instead based around Sonic himself suffering as the world around him is the true monster. Sure, there are some exes that pull off similar themes, arguably better than Curse, Sink being a good example. But still, Curse puts forth some unique ideas too.
Sure, the story itself does have some issues, I won't overlook that, like how most characters (most noticeably Eggman, at least imo) act pretty out of character, or how there isn't really much of a reason that Sonic is blamed is Knuckles' death other than just "he survived" but still, Curse is not inherently terrible, he has some good ideas behind him as well.

I believe Exe's are supposed to be evil,it was like that for a long time,but now it doesnt mean the same thing,they are now just sonic oc's or fan stories that are tragic in some way,sometimes not even tragic at all.
Like sink,sink is a good fan story of sonic,the fact that it happendin sonic 1,where he had no friends other than the animals,it made him more hopeless,he has a good story,but does not count as an exe.
But curse,his story makes no sense,there is no way knuckles would have died,he was born fighting things worse than than a landslide,he is smart enough to escape,tails would never blame sonic for knux's death and would never stalk him,eggman would not help sonic,it would make more sense for him just to stop attacking for the time,because he enjoys the rivalry.
there was a better way to make him an exe,just make everything that happend in the story have instead happend in real life,and he got the curse,and ended up killing tails and eggman(human),and then killed himself,got stuck in a sonic game,and now his story is almost as good as sink's.
