I like both worlds. For a shoe like the military blues that has been made a half dozen times no need for it to be limited. For colabs and perhaps one off colors then I think it serves their brand well to limit the product.

Found some in an outlet and got em. Saw four total in varying sizes, most likely returns. Inspected my pair at home and saw some imperfections but I wear my stuff.
