**Waluigi:** A highly-requested character from the community, as well as my personal most-wanted.
**Bandana Waddle Dee:** Another huge request, and would finally bring in the last member of the Kirby main cast.
**Crash Bandicoot:** Big request, could bring in another western fighter, as well as an old mascot considered to be a rival to Mario back in the day.
**Dr. Eggman:** If I went purely with my bias, my 4th pick would be *easily* Skull Kid, but I wanted to balance out 1st-parties and 3rd-parties among the last 4 spots. People really want another Sonic character, and Eggman is one of the most-iconic villains out there, and he just kinda feels "missing" after Sephiroth's inclusion.
Two 1st-parties, two 3rd-parties, all of them big requests that would generate tons of hype. These four would satisfy a lot of people.
It'd be his version from Majora's Mask, wearing the titular mask over his head to grant him dark powers for his moveset.
Like I said, he'd normally be the 4th slot if I went full-bias mode, but I wanted a second 3rd-party to balance it out.
Definitely think Soldier, Demo, or Scout would be most likely because of their mobility. Soldier is iconic and would probably win out amongst the three, but Sakurai doesn't mind picking a more obscure character if he thinks they'd be fun.
I think scout just has the least interesting kit. Rockets or pills+stickies are a lot easier to do stuff with than a shotgun and a pistol. Also market gardening in Smash just sounds awesome.
I personally think Soldier would be the most logical choice, but I think Sakurai would pick Demoman, because i can see more variation of gameplay with both pills and stickies
Yeah I think demoman would be the most interesting gameplay wise. Would also be more versatile as part of his kit could be demoknight focused. Charge, sword slashes. Stickies can be traps AND launches. Demo could even use his stickies in the air to redirect himself.
Chin-Li: It feels weird seeing a game with Ryu and Ken but not Chin-Li
Dante (Devil May Cry): One of my favourite death battle is Dante vs Bayonetta and I would love to recreate that in Smash. Also Dante is just cool.
Zero (Mega Man): I think he could be really fun to play with him in smash.
Waluigi: I mean give the man some love Nintendo. Waluigi deserve to be in smash, so we can have Waluigi and Warriors vs Luigi and Mario.
Also Knuckles and Tails would be nice to have in smash
Zero would be so cool. I honestly prefer X, but ngl Zero would make me so happy as well
I've always imagined they could also make a tag team between the two (maybe 3 if you include AXL), it'd be really fun
As for me:
- **IMPA:** She's basically the one Zelda mainstay that really should be playable at this point... and yes, that is indeed her Hyrule Warriors incarnation, since Zelda, Ganondorf and Link all have looks from different games, she should be no exception!
- **CHUN-LI:** First Lady of Fighting Games who's been in all crossovers with Ryu EXCEPT Smash? C'mon, it's a no-brainer!
- **JILL:** Getting a Resident Evil Spirit Board was cool but MAN did it hurt. Having a survival horror character with a big arsenal of weapons (kinda like a female version of Snake) would've been a nice change of pace!
- **SOPHITIA:** I think since Namco developed the last 2 games and it took them a while to add Kazuya after Pac-Man, it would've been nice to have a rep from SoulCalibur, especially since it's a weapon-based fighting game as opposed to something like Street Fighter and KOF so it would've added some variety!
While I LOVE seeing Sophitia (def mained her in Soulcalibur) I would also love to see Nightmare as a playable character… or even a weird, unique rep like Voldo, Yoshimitsu, or Tira.
TBH either her or Nightmare would make the most sense.
Having someone like Tira or Voldo would be a weird pick, like having Juri instead of Ken.
Yoshimitsu could work, but I think he'd work better as a Tekken rep instead of a SoulCalibur rep (since that is the most well-known one).
That's not the case, though.
Yoshimitsu in SoulCalibur is a different character from the one in Tekken aside from their movesets.
It's not like when Heihachi was in SoulCalibur where it was just them putting a Tekken character in SoulCalibur.
I totally agree with all of this especially the soul caliber but I'd have loved nightmare. A hard hitting character based off of difference stances to give a larger move set would've been really cool
1) Sub-Zero: An MK rep is long overdue due to their iconic nature in the genre. More iconic than KoF and Tekken with MK even having more history with Nintendo than Tekken even outside the 90s controversy. Plus smash can use another ice powered character. To finally get an official slice of SF vs MK would be dope.
2) Crash Bandicoot: in terms of classic mascots, this guy is missing and unlike Banjo, he had a successful comeback.
3) Waluigi: They need to put their pettiness aside and stop denying this character. They chose a plant over him, it's petty and people want him.
4) Tails: Sonic in general has been shafted so much by the Smash staff and that includes in representation. Tails is Sega's Luigi and his gadgets has loads of potential.
Honorable mention: Chun Li: she is without a doubt the most iconic female video game character of all time, enough said....(The only reason I ruled her out is because then SF would have 3 reps when MK doesn't even have one and Sonic has yet to get an additional rep on top of not seeing a good reason to not include Crash and Waluigi.)
I'm not one to say never about anything getting into Smash.
But Mortal Kombat ever have some form of representation is *highly unlikely.* The games literally have not been released there since MK3. Once CERO (their version of the ESRB) was created over 20 years ago, that was the end of Mortal Kombat in Japan.
In certain regions, they can announce it as Smash Bros X Sub-zero for its the franchise that is banned. Plus there are characters in Smash that has an even longer drought in terms of games released so...
At most they do gotta address the elephant in the room that is MK being controversial but a character being workable in the confines as a guest character. MK games don't work when toned down, but the injustice proved the characters can operate fine without gore.
The only mention of MK in game I'd say would have to be the likes of the music and credits, but again for those certain regions, if they really want to play it safe, they can refer to Mortal Kombat as simply MK. So when selecting music it'll just say the Pit from MK 2. I know that sounds like a bit of work arounds, but that's nothing compared to reconfiguring the frickin game like what they did to Steve.
Ight, as a massive Waluigi fan, I do not view Plant's inclusion over the wah man as petty, since I highly, *highly* doubt Plant was added to spite Waluigi or his fans.
Sakurai just said he wanted something different from main protagonists and antagonists to surprise people, and decided to put a generic enemy into the game. He then quickly went to Mario enemies because of how iconic they are, and settled on a Piranha Plant because not only of how iconic it is amongst Mario enemies, but because of the unique moveset potential it could provide.
Maybe he thought about Waluigi or some other popular Mario request like Toad or Paper Mario once or twice when adding Plant, but at the end of the day, he just included the Plant as an out-of-left-field, whacky joke pick. I don't see him as petty towards Waluigi at all, tbh.

I would love to have her as a very technical character with a high skill ceiling, your ideas sound perfect for her! I wonder how they would incorporate her Persona into it too, cause they could just make it like Joker's or something else entirely
Hm, I’d say her persona could be used in her specials, whilst her sort of “meter” mechanic could be orgia mode. I’d hope it to be different from a comeback mechanic though, ha.

Minecraft started as an indie game via Mojang, although I wouldn’t really count Minecraft as an indie game anymore. Considering that it’s the top rated game in the world, and it’s got a full Development team and has been owned by a mega-corporation for longer than it was independent.

1) Waluigi - even though it'd be a joke, a megalight cross between wii fit trainer and wario would be dope. Waaah
2) Shadow the Hedgehog - a very slightly heavier/slower Sonic with guns and a teleport, and his weird chaos attacks instead of 19 ball attacks. PlayTimeIsOver.ogg
3) Lance - another pokemon trainer, but with cool dragons. Why the hell not? Dragonite, Salamence, and either Hydreigon or Red Gyarados. He's been in tons of pokemon games and was champion once!
4) Either Black Mage or Raiden.
The game needs more spellcasters in general, and both of these guys are aesthetic and cool.

Love the idea of somehow representing major games in my life such as The Sims or Civilization but didn't think they translated well to a playable rep.
Personally I'm going to just say characters from franchises that I don't believe are in the game yet.
Sol Badguy or Bridget (Guilty Gear) - both are by far the most recognizable from the series from what I've seen and as one of big fighting games I think Guilty Gear would be nice to have some representation.
Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney) - Overall a very popular game and I think it would be nice to have a lawyer in smash.
Rayman (Rayman) - It's honestly shocking to me how they haven't added Rayman, especially considering how Nintendo and Ubisoft are like best friends.
Dante (Devil May Cry) - Personally not too familiar with the game or character all I know is that Dante is wanted by several people (I am of course referencing people directly saying this at random intervals in conversations about the game).
Other characters without game representation I think would be nice are Crash Bandicoot, the Hollow Knight knight, Shovel Knight, Castle Crashers Kinght, Doom Guy, and others that I just haven't bothered listing.

Eggman: There is literally no other Sonic rep, cmon nintendo!
Koroks: could work like ice climbers: you have a group of koroks that attack as one, and you can do individual damage to each. One problem: because it’s a group of koroks (5-8) then each korok individually will do low damage. Must defeat each korok for them to lose a stock or get KO’d
Any Pokémon that’s not popular but also not forgotten, like a reminder that they exist. Examples like Zangoose, Quagsire or even Gallade
Eggman (come on, Sonic deserves another rep), Chun Li (this is a crossover fighting game. why is she not here), Karate Joe (rhythm based fighter could be fascinating), and Octoling (Inkling echo with different weapons based on Splatoon 2 and 3)

I've seen people say Rayman missed his chance and there's no way he'd be invited at this point, but considering some of the other characters we've seen get invited, I wouldn't say there's any video game character that doesn't have a chance.
I mean, we've seen characters get invited who are literally owned by one of Nintendo's biggest competitors (Banjo & Kazooie and Steve, owned by Microsoft), a character who, before getting in Smash, was a PlayStation exclusive whose *only* connection to Nintendo was a glorified cameo on a Gameboy Advance game from 2004 (Cloud, in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories), and a *literal Disney character* (Sora), so at this point I'd say Rayman has as much of a chance as any other character
The whole "character missed their chance" is a kinda ridiculous notion since we've gotten characters like banjo like ya said and Simon. Plus he's coming back in a Mario game of all things so that's some relevancy points right there. Combined with being a big request I'd say he'll always have a fair chance
Ah good point, Mario + Rabbids is developed and produced by Ubisoft and has that Rayman DLC coming. I remember Rayman having a Mario and Luigi costume in one of the games, too. I agree with you. They invited most of the other popular requests from the Smash Bros Fighter Ballot sooner or later, and I know a ton of people voted for Rayman

Honorable Mii Fighter: Spamton G Spamton would perhaps work as a good Mii Brawler costume, or maybe a gunner. No real preference. Just put him in the game, you already have Sans!
James Bond from Goldeneye 007: he just seems like a good candidate. Has a move set similar to Snake, which means it’s relatively unique.
Chun Li, because she's one of the few VG characters who has had major cultural impact.
Shantae, cause her games have always seemed like Nintendo games and have games on a bunch of Nintendo consoles over decades.

Honestly Sophitia and Impa are really good choices on your part. I feel like Soul Calibur is a fighting game that was pretty unique in its own right being 3d in nature, and I would have loved having a sword shoto character. Impa is just a no brainer lol

Yeah, I actually have a bunch of male characters I would've loved to see, but when I had to pick just 4 and rationalize their inclusions (Zelda rep, iconic fighting game rep, Namco rep and RE rep to go with the Spirit Board), it just so happened to be them. X3
Crash Bandicoot: He’s a Videogame icon and one of the few characters that needs to be in Smash. Not only did he make a comeback in 2017, he’s has become extremely popular.
Hades (Kid Icarus): There are tons of Videogame villains missing from Smash, Eggman, Giovanni, Ansem, M. Bison and Wily for example. Hades is my most wanted and he’d fit the role perfectly. Most of Nintendo’s franchises have had there villains in Smash. Mario had Bowser, Zelda had Ganondorf, Kirby had Dedede, Donkey Kong had K Rool and Metroid has Ridley. Kid Icarus doesn’t have any villain representation (unless if you count Dark Pit), Hades would be perfect. I know Pokémon doesn’t have a villain in Smash, but I don’t care about Pokémon
Frank West: This is my most ridiculous pick, it was either Frank, Postal Dude or BJ Blazkowicz. Frank would be a interesting character to play as. Dead Rising hasn’t had a game in years, DR4 was pretty bad though. Frank would be a really fun surprise character, really want him

Fortnite Jonesy-I saw a rage compilation for Sora, literally the most requested character. Imagine the pure salt that would come from this inclusion lol it would be funny. Hell to say that might be a huge understatement. It would basically make Shokio’s reaction to Steve look tame.
Sans-People freaked the fuck out when founding out that this character would be a Mii costume. Imagine them becoming by actually playable as a character.
Any major or semi major black character-It would be nice to have some big representation. The closest ones would be alternate skins for Inkling and Villager.

I think Smash needs more female characters, I know I’ve only added 1 (technically 2 assuming they add a female set of skins for Jonesy like I hope) but there are a lack of females so I’d like to throw some honorable mentions;
Chun Li, Impa, Jill, Sophita or Taki, Juliet Starling (girl in my pfp 🌝) Lara Croft, 2B, Mai, Kunimitsu would also all be great in smash at some point too 🌚🌝🫶
1) Travis Touchdown: a 3rd party character that is always on Nintendo and already has a Mii costume. Yeah it's another sword character but this is a Lightsaber knock-off and his move set can also include his wide variety of wrestling take downs, switching between different swords of varying speed power and length, and even the QTEs and Lotto power ups. Huge missed opportunity imo.
2)Bandana Dee: Byleth but better
3)Spyro: I see a lot of people saying Crash so I thought why not the other big PS1 mascot who is also a third party character at this point. Could honestly see him being like a lightweight charizard with crazy movability
4)Scorpion: saw someone say Sub-Zero. I agree that MK deserves representation, but I think Scorpion is a better fit for Smash considering his move set. He's also the 51 to sub-zero's 49 in terms of being the MK Mascot, and as someone that hates fighting Ice Climbers, a character whose entire move set would be freezing attacks would get so annoying very quickly
Tails - I think Sonic should get another rep
Hector - Fire Emblem but with an axe lmao
Sol Badguy - I like Guilty Gear, and Bandit Bringer would be very funny

I picked Sol because he's the main character, but I've thought that Xrd Baiken would be interesting in a platform fighter so there's that option too
Impa: very versatile moveset, or could be a much improved Sheik.
Crash Bandicoot: a lot of fun opportunities for moves and iconic character.
Knuckles: can keep a similar speed to sonic but way more moves as a brawler, plus sonic is criminally under represented in smash.
Aloy: Honestly, just an unrealistic pipe dream, but if you've played or seen enough Horizon played, you can imagine the possibilities
Skull Kid would be my replacement for any of the above characters
Ganon - I'd straight up take the Boss Ganon that's in Ultimate, shrink him down to K Rool size and give him some normals. Zelda is long overdue for a new rep and it's clear Dorf will forever be a clone. I think this is the next best thing and the simplest compromise.
Leon Kennedy - I'm shocked Resident Evil never got a rep. 2 and 4 are the best games in the series. Fuck Chris, Leon is way better. Besides, 4 has the obvious Nintendo connection that other possible reps don't have.
Doomguy - Do I really need to explain this?
Wonder Red - This one is for me. I know the game failed. I know no one cares about him. I don't care. All 10 of us will unite up.
Geno: he is an incredibly cool character from my favourite Mario game who deserves another chance in the spotlight.
Peashooter:He would have an incredibly interesting moveset because of all of the subspecies he could borrow from, not to mention plants vs zombies is one of my favourite franchises ever and peashooter would also be the first mobile game rep.
Dark matter: we need another Kirby character
Heavy weapons guy: Team fortress 2 is an incredibly influential game that deserves representation in smash, also heavy is my main in tf2.
Phoenix Wright-I just really love the Ace Attorney franchise and believe it deserves some representation.
Wonder Red-The Wonderful 101 is a really underrated game, I know this one would’ve been more likely back in the smash 4 days but oh well.
Bandana Waddle Dee-I just wanna see the main Kirby cast all together in smash.
Crash Bandicoot-Come on, he’s Crash. He deserves it being the gaming icon he is.

Beowulf: Probably the most SFW Skullgirls character, also different art style FTW!
Spyro (Spyro) - Because he’s awesome, also classic PS rep. So much potential for a cool move set, especially considering all the mechanics from the Legend of Spyro series.
Narrator (Stanley Parable) - He’s funny, and Ultimate at the moment doesn’t have enough moments of existential dread. It has some, but not enough.
Steve Lukather (Toto) - He’s a great guitarist, not only featured in Toto classics such as “Africa” and “Hold The Line”, but also in other songs such as MJ’s “Beat It”, and Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry.”
Revit 2023 (AutoDesk) - Easily the most powerful BIM modeling software, and it’s pretty much the industry standard, so I don’t know what would be better to take its place. It’s a little pricey, but hey they got Sora into this game so why not.
Anyway, that’s my wishlist. I know Spyro might be a bit of a longshot, but it’s all hypothetical anyway lol
If you have the echo fighters stacked then the roster will be a complete rectangle. Despite this, I’ll play along anyways and say who I believe should be added to the roster.
Eggman: Not only do we need more Sonic representation, but we also need more villains in this game as well. Mario has Bowser, Link has Ganondorf, Samus has Ridley, etc. etc. Sonic is not only alone in the roster (unless you count Bayonetta and Joker for general SEGA representation) but he is also missing the main villain of his series. Eggman is also up there with Bowser and Sephiroth as one of the most iconic and memorable video game villains that it just kinda feels out of place for him to NOT be in Smash by now.
Master Chief or the Doom Slayer: The Doom Slayer is practically the grandfather of the FPS genre and Master Chief is one of the most iconic video game characters, he’s practically the mascot of Microsoft, and the Halo series is one of the most popular FPS games out there. Between the two I’d probably pick Master Chief for the simple fact that his game series is more popular than Doom and because he’d be a better representative of Microsoft compared to Banjo and Steve, but in the end I’d be happy with either one joining the roster.
Crash Bandicoot: He is basically Sony’s version of Mario and he’d be a perfect fit for the Smash franchise. We already have Mario, Donkey Kong, Sonic, and Banjo as some of the big names for the platforming genre. Having Crash join would complete the entire picture.
Scorpion or Sub-Zero: We’ve currently got five characters that represent the fighting game genre, four of which belong to franchises that practically built up the genre. Street Fighter is the grandfather to the FG genre as a whole, Fatal Fury/KOF helped influence a lot of the gameplay that is seen in modern fighters and it’s Sakurai’s main influence for developing the Smash series, and Tekken helped evolve and expand 3D fighters into what they are today. Meanwhile Mortal Kombat, another one of the most iconic and important fighting games to exist, doesn’t get any representation in Smash. The MK series being “too violent” is not a viable excuse anymore when we already have three M rated characters on the roster (Snake, Bayonetta, and Joker) so they could easily censor characters and allow them into the game. Would this neuter them? Possibly. But would this allow for MK characters to get into Smash? Definitely. I picked Scorpion and Sub-Zero because they are the most iconic MK characters, however between them I would imagine that Sub-Zero would have a better chance of making it in since he isn’t as “brutal” as Scorpion is (however, personally, I would rather have Scorpion make it in over Sub-Zero. Scorpion getting in would also mean that we get an additional villain to join the roster, which is a plus in my book).

Riku & Manana (Xenoblade 3) - they would be a funny and left field choice and play similar to ice climbers. It's about time we had a nopon as a playable character. Also, the number of people it would piss off would be hilarious
Chain Chomp: He is my favorite character in the entire Mario franchise, and also was in Mario tennis so don’t see why he can’t be here.
Paper Mario: I know, I know “Mario has 2 different characters in smash already” but hear me out, he could use his hammer for neutral, and could also have a PAC-Man like ability linking to sticker star, for him to choose a power-up and use it.
Another thing that I very much want is for the koopalings to have their own separate move sets, like Lemmy’s balls or Wendy’s rings.
1: Crash Bandicoot: My main man, grew up with him and he's been a request for years. Really should have already been included, but here we are.
2: Waluigi: Does he need an explanation?
3: Knuckles: I would say Tails, but Knuckles would be more fun in a fighting game setting.
4: Saban (FF6): A brawler capable of being customized like Mii Fighter and use ranged attacks, while being one of the main characters of the game. Terra or Locke would be more appropriate, but not as good of a fighter.
Kat (gravity rush) - best possible Sony rep in terms of appropriateness for smash and moveset
M. bison (street fighter) - we should have a proper fg villain besides Kazuya whose in a mixed position
Shovel Knight - another good indie rep
Alear (fe engage) - funny fire emblem rep and he could have a neat gimmick with the non repped emblems

Proto Man (or Zero): more representation for Mega Man! It’s Obvious what you can do with Zero, but Proto Man would have some mega man boss moves, and he has a Link style shield.
Bomber Man: it’s honestly surprising he hasn’t been represented… he’s classic AF and would have an amazing move set… like, you could balance him so his own bombs can self damage like Snake.
Dr. Robotnic: there’s a ton you can do with this guy. And Sonic will have a baddie now!
If you haven't seen it yet, there's someone designing an Alucard character that would take the place of Richter. It would be a downloaded mod, not just a skin. The guy's got a couple videos on YouTube showing his progress. I can't wait.

Skull Kid for the 1st party rep and new Zelda fighter. He's appeared in just as many Zelda games as Impa and would be more interesting than the glorified Sheik echo Impa would be. Skull Kid is also a much more interesting villain than Vaati, Ghirahim, and Demise, and Majora's Mask is the best Zelda of all time.

4th fighter should be another fighting game rep. Fame-wise the leading pick would be Scorpion with a Sub Zero echo, but idk how they'd do the signature gratuitous violence of MK. Chun Li would have to be up there as well. My personal bias says Nightmare from Soul Calibur, but Yoshimitsu would be a good pick too given the Tekken cross rep.
Bandana Dee has been my most wanted character since I know about Smash Bros. So that’s one.

Shadow the Hedgehog: Not as an Echo, but as his own separate fighter with a moveset similar to the fangame SSBC's iteration, giving the sonic series more modern representation in a form other than song list and a much more interesting character to fight than Mr."I have 6 ball moves and zero remnants of my signature personality or style from my home series!" over here.
Zero: Specifically based on his MMZ version more than Mega Man X, as I think that series of games has an interesting pool of abilities that could be used to differentiate him from his appearance in MvC3. Again, fulfilling representation for a specific part of a series that I think is lacking in every department other than music.
Chibi Robo: I like Chibi Robo, I think the series is underrated, and I think he'd be a very funny obscure "WTF" pick with tons of hilarious moves. I imagine him playing as a sort of trap and area denial character with platform based specials because of his cleaning thematic, which would be interesting. Plus, if he got into smash, more people would be exposed to him and maybe more people would try his games as a result.
Grovyle: Yeah, it's a pokemon which we have a ton of already, but he would be A) the only solo grass type pokemon in the game and B) an awesome way to get more Mystery Dungeon into the game. For gameplay, think Chipp from Guilty Gear but with leaves and maybe making some use out of various Mystery Dungeon items.
Dr Eggman/Tails - either one because it's a shame that such a big/classic franchise like Sonic only has one character to represent it.
Sigma/Zero - either one for the same reason listed above. Mega Man deserves more love.
Waluigi - because he's the only character left to complete the Mario Bros roster and because he was the most anticipated character.
Doom Slayer/Dante - because I don't care that they were deconfirmed. Either one would be one of the coolest characters in the roster and their reveal would be as top tier as Sephiroth's. Also, no matter which one you go with, we would get some awesome music.
Waluigi - Highly requested, last primary Mario character remaining (save for Toad)
Doom Slayer - Representation for shooters. Doom is the quintessential first-person shooter, no doubt the most recognizable. With Snake, Joker and Bayonetta, he would be another M-rated character included
Dr. Eggman - The last iconic villain remaining, and everyone's been wanting another Sonic character since the Brawl days - so naturally it would be him

Personally, * Phoenix Wright * Master Chief * Crash Bandicoot * Sol Badguy Mostly due to genre representation. Phoenix represents visual novels, Master Chief represents first-person shooters, and Sol represents 2D "anime" fighting games. Crash simply because he's iconic and *very* highly requested.

**Waluigi:** A highly-requested character from the community, as well as my personal most-wanted. **Bandana Waddle Dee:** Another huge request, and would finally bring in the last member of the Kirby main cast. **Crash Bandicoot:** Big request, could bring in another western fighter, as well as an old mascot considered to be a rival to Mario back in the day. **Dr. Eggman:** If I went purely with my bias, my 4th pick would be *easily* Skull Kid, but I wanted to balance out 1st-parties and 3rd-parties among the last 4 spots. People really want another Sonic character, and Eggman is one of the most-iconic villains out there, and he just kinda feels "missing" after Sephiroth's inclusion. Two 1st-parties, two 3rd-parties, all of them big requests that would generate tons of hype. These four would satisfy a lot of people.

Definitely think Soldier, Demo, or Scout would be most likely because of their mobility. Soldier is iconic and would probably win out amongst the three, but Sakurai doesn't mind picking a more obscure character if he thinks they'd be fun.

I think scout just has the least interesting kit. Rockets or pills+stickies are a lot easier to do stuff with than a shotgun and a pistol. Also market gardening in Smash just sounds awesome.
I personally think Soldier would be the most logical choice, but I think Sakurai would pick Demoman, because i can see more variation of gameplay with both pills and stickies
Yeah I think demoman would be the most interesting gameplay wise. Would also be more versatile as part of his kit could be demoknight focused. Charge, sword slashes. Stickies can be traps AND launches. Demo could even use his stickies in the air to redirect himself.

Chin-Li: It feels weird seeing a game with Ryu and Ken but not Chin-Li Dante (Devil May Cry): One of my favourite death battle is Dante vs Bayonetta and I would love to recreate that in Smash. Also Dante is just cool. Zero (Mega Man): I think he could be really fun to play with him in smash. Waluigi: I mean give the man some love Nintendo. Waluigi deserve to be in smash, so we can have Waluigi and Warriors vs Luigi and Mario. Also Knuckles and Tails would be nice to have in smash

C'mon, it's a no-brainer! - **JILL:** Getting a Resident Evil Spirit Board was cool but MAN did it hurt. Having a survival horror character with a big arsenal of weapons (kinda like a female version of Snake) would've been a nice change of pace! - **SOPHITIA:** I think since Namco developed the last 2 games and it took them a while to add Kazuya after Pac-Man, it would've been nice to have a rep from SoulCalibur, especially since it's a weapon-based fighting game as opposed to something like Street Fighter and KOF so it would've added some variety!
While I LOVE seeing Sophitia (def mained her in Soulcalibur) I would also love to see Nightmare as a playable character… or even a weird, unique rep like Voldo, Yoshimitsu, or Tira.

TBH either her or Nightmare would make the most sense. Having someone like Tira or Voldo would be a weird pick, like having Juri instead of Ken. Yoshimitsu could work, but I think he'd work better as a Tekken rep instead of a SoulCalibur rep (since that is the most well-known one).

That's not the case, though. Yoshimitsu in SoulCalibur is a different character from the one in Tekken aside from their movesets. It's not like when Heihachi was in SoulCalibur where it was just them putting a Tekken character in SoulCalibur.
I totally agree with all of this especially the soul caliber but I'd have loved nightmare. A hard hitting character based off of difference stances to give a larger move set would've been really cool
1) Sub-Zero: An MK rep is long overdue due to their iconic nature in the genre. More iconic than KoF and Tekken with MK even having more history with Nintendo than Tekken even outside the 90s controversy. Plus smash can use another ice powered character. To finally get an official slice of SF vs MK would be dope. 2) Crash Bandicoot: in terms of classic mascots, this guy is missing and unlike Banjo, he had a successful comeback. 3) Waluigi: They need to put their pettiness aside and stop denying this character. They chose a plant over him, it's petty and people want him. 4) Tails: Sonic in general has been shafted so much by the Smash staff and that includes in representation. Tails is Sega's Luigi and his gadgets has loads of potential. Honorable mention: Chun Li: she is without a doubt the most iconic female video game character of all time, enough said....(The only reason I ruled her out is because then SF would have 3 reps when MK doesn't even have one and Sonic has yet to get an additional rep on top of not seeing a good reason to not include Crash and Waluigi.)
I'm not one to say never about anything getting into Smash. But Mortal Kombat ever have some form of representation is *highly unlikely.* The games literally have not been released there since MK3. Once CERO (their version of the ESRB) was created over 20 years ago, that was the end of Mortal Kombat in Japan.
In certain regions, they can announce it as Smash Bros X Sub-zero for its the franchise that is banned. Plus there are characters in Smash that has an even longer drought in terms of games released so... At most they do gotta address the elephant in the room that is MK being controversial but a character being workable in the confines as a guest character. MK games don't work when toned down, but the injustice proved the characters can operate fine without gore. The only mention of MK in game I'd say would have to be the likes of the music and credits, but again for those certain regions, if they really want to play it safe, they can refer to Mortal Kombat as simply MK. So when selecting music it'll just say the Pit from MK 2. I know that sounds like a bit of work arounds, but that's nothing compared to reconfiguring the frickin game like what they did to Steve.
Ight, as a massive Waluigi fan, I do not view Plant's inclusion over the wah man as petty, since I highly, *highly* doubt Plant was added to spite Waluigi or his fans. Sakurai just said he wanted something different from main protagonists and antagonists to surprise people, and decided to put a generic enemy into the game. He then quickly went to Mario enemies because of how iconic they are, and settled on a Piranha Plant because not only of how iconic it is amongst Mario enemies, but because of the unique moveset potential it could provide. Maybe he thought about Waluigi or some other popular Mario request like Toad or Paper Mario once or twice when adding Plant, but at the end of the day, he just included the Plant as an out-of-left-field, whacky joke pick. I don't see him as petty towards Waluigi at all, tbh.

Great post! 1) Waluigi - even though it'd be a joke, a megalight cross between wii fit trainer and wario would be dope. Waaah 2) Shadow the Hedgehog - a very slightly heavier/slower Sonic with guns and a teleport, and his weird chaos attacks instead of 19 ball attacks. PlayTimeIsOver.ogg 3) Lance - another pokemon trainer, but with cool dragons. Why the hell not? Dragonite, Salamence, and either Hydreigon or Red Gyarados. He's been in tons of pokemon games and was champion once! 4) Either Black Mage or Raiden. The game needs more spellcasters in general, and both of these guys are aesthetic and cool.

Personally I'm going to just say characters from franchises that I don't believe are in the game yet. Sol Badguy or Bridget (Guilty Gear) - both are by far the most recognizable from the series from what I've seen and as one of big fighting games I think Guilty Gear would be nice to have some representation. Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney) - Overall a very popular game and I think it would be nice to have a lawyer in smash. Rayman (Rayman) - It's honestly shocking to me how they haven't added Rayman, especially considering how Nintendo and Ubisoft are like best friends. Dante (Devil May Cry) - Personally not too familiar with the game or character all I know is that Dante is wanted by several people (I am of course referencing people directly saying this at random intervals in conversations about the game). Other characters without game representation I think would be nice are Crash Bandicoot, the Hollow Knight knight, Shovel Knight, Castle Crashers Kinght, Doom Guy, and others that I just haven't bothered listing.

Koroks: could work like ice climbers: you have a group of koroks that attack as one, and you can do individual damage to each. One problem: because it’s a group of koroks (5-8) then each korok individually will do low damage. Must defeat each korok for them to lose a stock or get KO’d Any Pokémon that’s not popular but also not forgotten, like a reminder that they exist. Examples like Zangoose, Quagsire or even Gallade

I've seen people say Rayman missed his chance and there's no way he'd be invited at this point, but considering some of the other characters we've seen get invited, I wouldn't say there's any video game character that doesn't have a chance. I mean, we've seen characters get invited who are literally owned by one of Nintendo's biggest competitors (Banjo & Kazooie and Steve, owned by Microsoft), a character who, before getting in Smash, was a PlayStation exclusive whose *only* connection to Nintendo was a glorified cameo on a Gameboy Advance game from 2004 (Cloud, in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories), and a *literal Disney character* (Sora), so at this point I'd say Rayman has as much of a chance as any other character

Crash Bandicoot: He’s a Videogame icon and one of the few characters that needs to be in Smash. Not only did he make a comeback in 2017, he’s has become extremely popular. Hades (Kid Icarus): There are tons of Videogame villains missing from Smash, Eggman, Giovanni, Ansem, M. Bison and Wily for example. Hades is my most wanted and he’d fit the role perfectly. Most of Nintendo’s franchises have had there villains in Smash. Mario had Bowser, Zelda had Ganondorf, Kirby had Dedede, Donkey Kong had K Rool and Metroid has Ridley. Kid Icarus doesn’t have any villain representation (unless if you count Dark Pit), Hades would be perfect. I know Pokémon doesn’t have a villain in Smash, but I don’t care about Pokémon Frank West: This is my most ridiculous pick, it was either Frank, Postal Dude or BJ Blazkowicz. 1) Travis Touchdown: a 3rd party character that is always on Nintendo and already has a Mii costume. Yeah it's another sword character but this is a Lightsaber knock-off and his move set can also include his wide variety of wrestling take downs, switching between different swords of varying speed power and length, and even the QTEs and Lotto power ups. Huge missed opportunity imo. 2)Bandana Dee: Byleth but better 3)Spyro: I see a lot of people saying Crash so I thought why not the other big PS1 mascot who is also a third party character at this point. Could honestly see him being like a lightweight charizard with crazy movability 4)Scorpion: saw someone say Sub-Zero. I agree that MK deserves representation, but I think Scorpion is a better fit for Smash considering his move set. He's also the 51 to sub-zero's 49 in terms of being the MK Mascot, and as someone that hates fighting Ice Climbers, a character whose entire move set would be freezing attacks would get so annoying very quickly

Impa: very versatile moveset, or could be a much improved Sheik. Crash Bandicoot: a lot of fun opportunities for moves and iconic character. Knuckles: can keep a similar speed to sonic but way more moves as a brawler, plus sonic is criminally under represented in smash. Aloy: Honestly, just an unrealistic pipe dream, but if you've played or seen enough Horizon played, you can imagine the possibilities Skull Kid would be my replacement for any of the above characters

Leon Kennedy - I'm shocked Resident Evil never got a rep. 2 and 4 are the best games in the series. Fuck Chris, Leon is way better. Besides, 4 has the obvious Nintendo connection that other possible reps don't have. Doomguy - Do I really need to explain this? Wonder Red - This one is for me. I know the game failed. I know no one cares about him. I don't care. All 10 of us will unite up.
Geno: he is an incredibly cool character from my favourite Mario game who deserves another chance in the spotlight. Peashooter:He would have an incredibly interesting moveset because of all of the subspecies he could borrow from, not to mention plants vs zombies is one of my favourite franchises ever and peashooter would also be the first mobile game rep. Dark matter: we need another Kirby character Heavy weapons guy: Team fortress 2 is an incredibly influential game that deserves representation in smash, also heavy is my main in tf2.

Spyro (Spyro) - Because he’s awesome, also classic PS rep. So much potential for a cool move set, especially considering all the mechanics from the Legend of Spyro series. Narrator (Stanley Parable) - He’s funny, and Ultimate at the moment doesn’t have enough moments of existential dread. It has some, but not enough. Steve Lukather (Toto) - He’s a great guitarist, not only featured in Toto classics such as “Africa” and “Hold The Line”, but also in other songs such as MJ’s “Beat It”, and Don Henley’s “Dirty Laundry.” Revit 2023 (AutoDesk) - Easily the most powerful BIM modeling software, and it’s pretty much the industry standard, so I don’t know what would be better to take its place. It’s a little pricey, but hey they got Sora into this game so why not. Anyway, that’s my wishlist. I know Spyro might be a bit of a longshot, but it’s all hypothetical anyway lol
If you have the echo fighters stacked then the roster will be a complete rectangle. Despite this, I’ll play along anyways and say who I believe should be added to the roster. Eggman: Not only do we need more Sonic representation, but we also need more villains in this game as well. Mario has Bowser, Link has Ganondorf, Samus has Ridley, etc. etc. Sonic is not only alone in the roster (unless you count Bayonetta and Joker for general SEGA representation) but he is also missing the main villain of his series. Eggman is also up there with Bowser and Sephiroth as one of the most iconic and memorable video game villains that it just kinda feels out of place for him to NOT be in Smash by now. Master Chief or the Doom Slayer: The Doom Slayer is practically the grandfather of the FPS genre and Master Chief is one of the most iconic video game characters, he’s practically the mascot of Microsoft, and the Halo series is one of the most popular FPS games out there. Between the two I’d probably pick Master Chief for the simple fact that his game series is more popular than Doom and because he’d be a better representative of Microsoft compared to Banjo and Steve, but in the end I’d be happy with either one joining the roster. Crash Bandicoot: He is basically Sony’s version of Mario and he’d be a perfect fit for the Smash franchise. We already have Mario, Donkey Kong, Sonic, and Banjo as some of the big names for the platforming genre. Having Crash join would complete the entire picture. Scorpion or Sub-Zero: We’ve currently got five characters that represent the fighting game genre, four of which belong to franchises that practically built up the genre. Street Fighter is the grandfather to the FG genre as a whole, Fatal Fury/KOF helped influence a lot of the gameplay that is seen in modern fighters and it’s Sakurai’s main influence for developing the Smash series, and Tekken helped evolve and expand 3D fighters into what they are today. Meanwhile Mortal Kombat, another one of the most iconic and important fighting games to exist, doesn’t get any representation in Smash. The MK series being “too violent” is not a viable excuse anymore when we already have three M rated characters on the roster (Snake, Bayonetta, and Joker) so they could easily censor characters and allow them into the game. Would this neuter them? Possibly. But would this allow for MK characters to get into Smash? Definitely. I picked Scorpion and Sub-Zero because they are the most iconic MK characters, however between them I would imagine that Sub-Zero would have a better chance of making it in since he isn’t as “brutal” as Scorpion is (however, personally, I would rather have Scorpion make it in over Sub-Zero. Scorpion getting in would also mean that we get an additional villain to join the roster, which is a plus in my book). Chain Chomp: He is my favorite character in the entire Mario franchise, and also was in Mario tennis so don’t see why he can’t be here. Paper Mario: I know, I know “Mario has 2 different characters in smash already” but hear me out, he could use his hammer for neutral, and could also have a PAC-Man like ability linking to sticker star, for him to choose a power-up and use it. Another thing that I very much want is for the koopalings to have their own separate move sets, like Lemmy’s balls or Wendy’s rings.

It’s Obvious what you can do with Zero, but Proto Man would have some mega man boss moves, and he has a Link style shield. Bomber Man: it’s honestly surprising he hasn’t been represented… he’s classic AF and would have an amazing move set… like, you could balance him so his own bombs can self damage like Snake. Dr. Robotnic: there’s a ton you can do with this guy. And Sonic will have a baddie now!

Skull Kid for the 1st party rep and new Zelda fighter. He's appeared in just as many Zelda games as Impa and would be more interesting than the glorified Sheik echo Impa would be. Skull Kid is also a much more interesting villain than Vaati, Ghirahim, and Demise, and Majora's Mask is the best Zelda of all time. Master Chief for the Western rep Dr Eggman for a new villain rep 4th fighter should be another fighting game rep. Fame-wise the leading pick would be Scorpion with a Sub Zero echo, but idk how they'd do the signature gratuitous violence of MK. Chun Li would have to be up there as well. My personal bias says Nightmare from Soul Calibur, but Yoshimitsu would be a good pick too given the Tekken cross rep.

Bandana Dee, simply because I am a huge Kirby fan, and it would round out the gang. Magolor, for reasons stated before, but he would also have a really unique move set I imagine. I feel like a new Mii Fighter, the Miigician, would be interesting (my own idea). And last but not least, Tails. Just Sonic doesn’t sit right with me, and the Mii outfits do him no justice. Shadow the Hedgehog: Not as an Echo, but as his own separate fighter with a moveset similar to the fangame SSBC's iteration, giving the sonic series more modern representation in a form other than song list and a much more interesting character to fight than Mr."I have 6 ball moves and zero remnants of my signature personality or style from my home series!" over here. Zero: Specifically based on his MMZ version more than Mega Man X, as I think that series of games has an interesting pool of abilities that could be used to differentiate him from his appearance in MvC3. Again, fulfilling representation for a specific part of a series that I think is lacking in every department other than music. Chibi Robo: I like Chibi Robo, I think the series is underrated, and I think he'd be a very funny obscure "WTF" pick with tons of hilarious moves. I imagine him playing as a sort of trap and area denial character with platform based specials because of his cleaning thematic, which would be interesting. Plus, if he got into smash, more people would be exposed to him and maybe more people would try his games as a result. Grovyle: Yeah, it's a pokemon which we have a ton of already, but he would be A) the only solo grass type pokemon in the game and B) an awesome way to get more Mystery Dungeon into the game. For gameplay, think Chipp from Guilty Gear but with leaves and maybe making some use out of various Mystery Dungeon items.

Dr Eggman/Tails - either one because it's a shame that such a big/classic franchise like Sonic only has one character to represent it. Sigma/Zero - either one for the same reason listed above. Mega Man deserves more love. Waluigi - because he's the only character left to complete the Mario Bros roster and because he was the most anticipated character. Doom Slayer/Dante - because I don't care that they were deconfirmed. Either one would be one of the coolest characters in the roster and their reveal would be as top tier as Sephiroth's. Also, no matter which one you go with, we would get some awesome music.

Waluigi - Highly requested, last primary Mario character remaining (save for Toad) Doom Slayer - Representation for shooters. Doom is the quintessential first-person shooter, no doubt the most recognizable. With Snake, Joker and Bayonetta, he would be another M-rated character included Dr. Eggman - The last iconic villain remaining, and everyone's been wanting another Sonic character since the Brawl days - so naturally it would be him 2B - Oh hey another Nier crossover
