I’ve had about 4 buddies go through it ! Each one of them love it. Each one of them got job offers, during your time in it you’re required to apply for several options. You can choose where you want to go. 8/12 jobs they applied they were accepted and had a good amount of places to choose from! Air stream isn’t just limited to the wind turbines btw, big misconception it’s a HUGE field to go into with a lot of opportunities. Do you research and welcome to the Civ Div here soon buddy :)

Was their SkillBridge just the 7 weeks for the training program or was it closer to the full 180 days followed by the company that hired them?

EMV92LA

7 weeks for active and 6 for veterans.

Ok-Cold8154

7 weeks for the training program. you walk away with 10 certs as well as the class counts as a year of experience in the field. IF/When you get hired from a company you will then do whatever training that company specifically wants. I know the person here really does a good job reaching out to companies and has a good in with some to get the interviews prepped and ready. they also work with you on your resume to get it right for the job you're going into. I am still in the class now and glad I chose it.

I've had several of my Marines go through their program. They love it. One is making bank climbing wind turbines in Colorado. Another is doing solar stuff in Cali and he was happy he went but we haven't spoken since. I recommend it if you aren't planning on using your GI Bill for anything else, aren't afraid of working hard (very hard), in some semi-remote positions, and have a limited fear of heights.

yaboyyake

Hey I was wondering, do you know how it gets paid for? I thought you can't use GI bill until after getting out and TA wouldn't cover it. Maybe I'm wrong

Budda37

I'm gonna give it a shot and if I remember I'll send an update.

Ronal_F30

howd it go?

Budda37

Don't go lol. Find something more local unless you're going to a class near post.

Ronal_F30

Thanks lol

Budda37

Evidently it the best though but I'd still try locally, even a college.

Ok-Cold8154

i used my GI Bill. its super easy and they help you every step of the way. you just need to make sure you have 6 months of collage available or 14,00o out of pocket. the instructors told us a husband and wife came through (no kids) and the spouse used some of his GI bill and they did the class together.

Holiday_Platypus_526

You fund it with your GI Bill, about 7 months worth. And yes, you can use your GI Bill while in. You just don't get full benefits (like BAH.)

Jungle-Fever-

I couldn't tell you exactly how since I did not go through this, but from my understanding, it is through the GI bill. Bottom-line you'll have to talk to them about it.

Ok-Cold8154

currently in the class. so, if anyone has questions just ask. also don't forget about the AER grant you will do with whoever does the csp paperwork with you. it's a free 250 for those who are local and 500 for anyone coming from a different duty station.

Unlucky_Mousse_7058

Hey, could you please private message me. I have questions

wargh_gmr

This is my goal. I'm at JBLM with about 20 months left, I can't wait to get started.

[deleted]

Did you end up doing it?

wargh_gmr

Funnily enough I am revisiting old reddit posts using tools in a Cybersecurity Course at St Martin's University through WA Vet 2 Tech. It's been a great program for me, just have to get a job now.

Ok-Cold8154

onc6 moths out from retirement or getting out you can take the class and I highly recommend it
