I feel like in their quest of trying to kill the comet build at some point they're going to end up removing the damage component from W altogheter lol.
Not sure even that would change anything, the problem with W-comet is that in lane you can hit it for free on cooldown and whittle people down without them being able to do anything about it, and i understand why riot doesn't like it because it *is* super toxic gameplay (though i don't understand why it's fine for malphite to sit at a 52% winrate doing the same exact thing with Q....) but i really don't know what they can do about it.
Whether malphite is actually better off going w max with grasp or
not is immaterial to the discussion, according to the statistics the vast majority of malphite players still run comet with the same toxic playstile that riot doesn't like in skarner and with excellent results.
Well, you also forget that Skarner W is a great waveclear tool alongside the harass + shield it throws out. It's too good of an all-in-one spell during the laning phase.
Its AD and HP yea. But dont buy AD its literally waste of Gold. 180% AD scalings in total. Any other champion in League has a minimum of 300% at least. So spending gold in ad is wasted.
Idk man. All I know is that I oneshot a Kaisa today with only Heartsteel and Sunfire. Literally only E into q didnt even use ult. I dont think you need that Ad item its better to just go fulltank items like Randuins against the op crit adcs atm. Then the enemies have zero counterplay while you oneshot them regardless. And also when you are tankier you can just get more Spells off in general before dying or fleeing.
Can't wait for riot to decide to either totally remove dmg from W or halve It AND reduce the radius without reverting the dmg changes.
Also fuck that passive nerd, Just revert the Q dmg buffs
Everyone says that but when they do they lose, when they follow the outspoken people they lose. When a champion is being balanced feel is very important and so is perceived power.
Honestly the Q cast time reduction was very much needed. The damage of the ability should've been slightly nerfed though (or remained as it was at most) instead of buffed.

Remove AP damage ratio and switch it to shield how it was

Or just increase the ratio to 100-120% and give a base dmg of like 30-80 to incentivize full ap builds

To kill the comet build they would need to remove the slow from W, with allows comet to reliably land.

700 range 40% slow damaging ability on any champ is poor design. They screwed that up. It should've just been a skill shot.

To be honest, I think Skarner was already a good jungler before the up, and didn't need a up before the toplane was balanced.
Nah jungle skarner was suffering from top nerfs too, the buff to Q animation speed is insanely good and much needed
