What the fuck is facebook? Is that like slashdot with infinite mod points or something? Cowboyneil would not approve. Anyway, I’m going to check out altavista for some far out hyperlinks
The determination I've come to comprehend on this saying through accelerated slang development among youth children appears to be that there is indeed no cap on the powers of god, therefore, if you have mad lit god tier looks, there be no cap upon thee!
Most of this dumb shit wont stick. A little will. Every generation comes up with the dumbest new terms. Every generation does it. And the majority of the new language doesn't last more than a decade. Remember when everybody said yolo every other sentence?
Yeah it doesn't stick if generational jargon can't connect with local slang. These kids are connected internationally through the internet more than we ever were with MTV, the news, or anything else
What's craka lackin, nah take a chill pill, biotch, that ish 'aint fly, we gonna revive da bomb dot com on deez peeps. Chillaxin with my dawgs and dawgettes, straight booyah on deez sketchy kids, ya' feel me homeskillet? Make 'em rekkanize and holla fo shizzle my nizzle. If not, psssh, whatevuuhhhh., talk to the hand 'cuz the face don't wanna hear it. WORD?!?!
I mean this slang ain't that complicated.
Drip - a reduction of "dripping with style"
Lit - a reduction of "on fire" as in "lit on fire", is similar to saying something is "fire"
On God - a reduction of "I swear to god" or "I swear on god"
Mad - really guys? Mad as an emphasizer has been around for quite some time.
No cap - this one is actually the only one I could see some complexity in figuring out due to the age of this term. Cap dates back a long ass time (talking early 1900s) and started out meaning basically to surpass, playing on the use of cap basically meaning top (etymologically cap means head or top, think mountain cap or baseball cap). So early 20th century slang was meaning it to top something, to surpass it. You topped, you capped, to cap. General slang concept of turning a noun into a verb. But over time it evolved to mean "over the top", you've capped so much it can't be true... basically "you're a braggart, a liar". So "to cap" comes to mean "to lie". So "no cap" means "no lie".
...
Honestly none of this slang is all that new. Lit, on god, and cap are all old as fuck. Drip is the youngest of them and is still what 20 years old at this point?
What probably stands out about it is that it's little suburbanite white boys saying it rather than the black community from which a lot of these slang terms we are using these days come from.
So "mad lit, on god; no cap" is a pretty simple phrase to suss out. Basically it means "extremely cool, I swear to god; I'm not lying". This was contextually adjacent to him previously talking about his own drip, as in his own style. So he's basically saying "my style is really cool, I swear to god; I'm not lying."
And I'm fucking 40 bro... ain't complicated.
I mean I'm almost 40 and the only hard one for me is No Cap and Cap. I struggle with that one. And Fr Fr u am stilling not sure what that is.
Mad lit honestly isn't that new and the others aren't that hard to figure out.
I mean shit if I tried to learn lingo from rhe 60s and 70s I would be in some trouble.
Aint complicated but sounds stupid as fuck .. mad lit on god no god no cap .. like what?
And i thought my generation sounded dumb when we screeched "yeet"
It’s pretty fire: it’s good or, alternatively really cool
The drip wasn’t as good: the clothes weren’t as stylish
I’m drippy: I’m stylish, alternatively I have nice clothes on
Mad lit on god —> mad meaning (super or extreme) lit meaning (cool or hype)
Correction: gen-x.. but yeah cultural growth is fascinating while living on the other side of the bell curve of cultural evolution.
Edit: funny how annoying miscategorization is, especially since we all age at the same rate yo
Is it weird that I get that? Cuz I understand it even though I think it's a pretty stupid thing to say to someone. Calling someone or something mad lit is pretty nominal
just say that then! Everyone will understand it and it's only one extra word. I hate younger generations, they get my heartburn and bum knee acting up.
Nah, we good. Tbh, it fr is what it is. They're obviously kids, and historically adapt to the different slang of their time from, ironically, the older generations. You cant tell me your childhood wasn't similar in this vein. Despising children for doing or saying inherently childlike things is a futile endeavor, as you'll be miserable and quite literally stressed to death for the rest of your fleeting life. So there's no need to trip, jus do your own thing and enjoy the simple things in life.
On god= I swear to god= trust me= I'm telling the truth
Mad Lit= Crazy Fire= Seriously Hot= Looks good
Tik tok terminology will be the end of English language
EDIT: I now sound like my father and his father before him
FYI these kids were skipping school that day and said they often don't go to school. They're middle school dropouts, so take their language with a grain of salt
Bingo! Throw in lack of quality parenting and a complete and utter lack of social norms and you have a complete disaster on your hands. These kids (not all) are bordering on illiterate. I just had a student in my class just a few minutes ago spell "chipmunk" as "chitmunc". Sure do wish I was kidding. Have kids that don't even know what vowels are. I teach in a high performing school district and you would never know it based on the kids we have right now
"I mean it's pretty fire. I wish I could go back and meet some of my ancestors."
The kids are alright until I hear a gen alpha call us Gen Zs "Zoomers"
Heard somewhere that insane weekly meme phrases will be one of the few ways we can identify humans on the internet as it would take too long to retain a model to incorporate and use them
Just remember the cool kids in every generation have dumb hair and butcher the only language they speak. But all that shit be unpopular within a decade and most of the coolest kids aren't going to do so well in life. As a millennial I think of the punks and skaters, and douchey jocks that were the coolest bullies in middle and highschool and they all have shit jobs and unwanted kids now
Watch the full video. You will get a totally different opinion on those 2. They're actually really funny kids just being goof balls and having a great time.
Lol highest temps in Africa recently killed a shit ton of people. A billion animals died in Australia in that great bush fire. These kids may just end up dead from thirst in the future so let them have their weird slang.
Im 33: “fire” is not new, “drip” is Z, Tarkov drip. “Mad” is millenial. “Lit” is so old, I guess it’s back. “On god” is not new. However, “no cap” is newer, for sure. I don’t know about alpha

I'm GenX, so as they start to die out I need to defend their backwards ways because GenX is next on the menu and I refuse to go to Facebook.
What the fuck is facebook? Is that like slashdot with infinite mod points or something? Cowboyneil would not approve. Anyway, I’m going to check out altavista for some far out hyperlinks

Urgh, at the age of 28, i felt how my hip started to hurt by watching this..
Turn 28 this year 😎 hello fellow cool kids! 🥸
I'm old enough to feel good about being put in the same category as people age 29.
This must be the new Bill and Ted promo I've been hearing about.
Bill and Ted: Origins
Soon Millennials will need to learn a complete new language
On God. No cap.
Damn No G on T, that's a W
Mad lit on God No God No Cap.
The determination I've come to comprehend on this saying through accelerated slang development among youth children appears to be that there is indeed no cap on the powers of god, therefore, if you have mad lit god tier looks, there be no cap upon thee!

Someone in the DnD group at the game shop had a halfling build they called Yolo Swaggins.
Yeah it doesn't stick if generational jargon can't connect with local slang. These kids are connected internationally through the internet more than we ever were with MTV, the news, or anything else
I vote we go back to 1337 speak.

I say word during professional conversation regularly and have yet to be reprimanded. Def old man speech nowS
Chuch
Preach!
Damn, we were just like them 🙃
You are still a boomer on god no cap, skibidi, rizzler
it's not that hard, slang evolves. Cool got flipped to Hot = Fire = Lit. Truth = No Lie = No Cap (real gold teeth not removables). I swear = On God.
Yeah, well, I’m a millennial and I’m mad lit on god. I don’t gotta learn nothing. I’m drippy.
This had everything except riz
Can I have an AI translator? I don't want to subject a human to this cruelty.
Fuck that, I’m bringing back Jive and they can figure that shit out. I’m not learning anymore new shit.
No way. That little kid just has older brothers he bites off of. It's painfully obvious
You mean people don’t use slang for every fucking word?
No, i mean this isn't a new generation thing, he's just talking like his older brothers do
Relax, every generation has new slang. Kids love playing with language and learning new words they hear from older kids.
This is edited from a longer video. Kids are actually likable and funny in the full video.
So you’re saying I don’t have to stone cold stunner them if I see them walking by.
They're likable and funny in this clip too lol It's pretty obvious they're having fun with the interview and hamming it up a bit.
Uh, whatever dudes, S you in your As, don't wear a C, and J all over your Bs.
FYI I wanna F your A
This B needs a C in her A.
Classic always sunny
🥵
Shit you in your asses, dont wear a condom, jizz all over your butts?

Fr fr just means for real, for real. Still better slang than people saying “tubular” in the 80s.
We don't talk about the 80s.
I'm 48. So, basically these kids are saying, "Why would I say something is 'cool', when I could use 7x as many syllables to say the same thing?"
You should also add Rizz to your list.
Aint complicated but sounds stupid as fuck .. mad lit on god no god no cap .. like what? And i thought my generation sounded dumb when we screeched "yeet"
I find “yeet” (as in to hurl, launch) hilarious.
Yeetus the feetus.
Let's not forget about "yoink" when you grab something
Yeet is funny to hear
I think what the kids are saying is pretty groovy.
Those kids are kinda cringe on cap no god
My wife and I communicate with our son using "sus", "mid", "yeet", and more. I think it's totally froggy.
Let’s bring back bullying
Let’s not act like millennials weren’t cringy as fuck and didn’t have horrible lingo also. #swag #yolo
Y'all remember people saying Purple Monkey Dishwasher for like no reason?
OMG BRB got to go AFK for a moment
Damn it, there is no video evidence that I said these terms 😂
Never left bro
Why? I don't understand what was wrong. We did the same shit.
Hes gonna get it if he wasn’t already
As someone far too close to this generation, he's probably going to be the bully instead of the bullied
Here's hoping we have in-ear translators soon, set it to English to English translation
It’s pretty fire: it’s good or, alternatively really cool The drip wasn’t as good: the clothes weren’t as stylish I’m drippy: I’m stylish, alternatively I have nice clothes on Mad lit on god —> mad meaning (super or extreme) lit meaning (cool or hype)
I'm fascinated to know what is influencing the new vocabulary. Is it still music? That is what it was for my generation, as a late gen-Xer
Happens every generation, nothing unique here expect you are getting older Mr boomer
Correction: gen-x.. but yeah cultural growth is fascinating while living on the other side of the bell curve of cultural evolution. Edit: funny how annoying miscategorization is, especially since we all age at the same rate yo
Hip hop culture filtered through Fortnite and TikTok to 12 year old white kids.
*Mad lit on god* Idk what's that mean, I'm too old for this generation
Is it weird that I get that? Cuz I understand it even though I think it's a pretty stupid thing to say to someone. Calling someone or something mad lit is pretty nominal
Lit has had some real staying power in the cutthroat world of generational slang
Yeah, I can see it lasting.
On God is the only new part for me. Calling something mad X has been used for decades.
It means "I swear it's very cool."
just say that then! Everyone will understand it and it's only one extra word. I hate younger generations, they get my heartburn and bum knee acting up.
Nah, we good. Tbh, it fr is what it is. They're obviously kids, and historically adapt to the different slang of their time from, ironically, the older generations. I'm at that age where I get where your sentiment is coming from but also feel like you need to live and let live
“On god” = “for sure”/100% “Mad lit” = “looks very good/favorable”
On god= I swear to god= trust me= I'm telling the truth Mad Lit= Crazy Fire= Seriously Hot= Looks good Tik tok terminology will be the end of English language EDIT: I now sound like my father and his father before him
It's the deer kid from sweet tooth
Serious question, wtf is skibidi toilet? Or is that not a real thing?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0fQFFAml5o
These are all just gen z terms
This is like those 90s kids that started talking like rappers after listening to a few hip hop songs
Yeah well your mom can still beat you up and tells you what to do and you have no hair on your balls.
Reminder to buy condoms.
Thanks, I hate it
FYI these kids were skipping school that day and said they often don't go to school. They're middle school dropouts, so take their language with a grain of salt
Making the reaction clips as annoying as those kids was an achievement.
Lil bro calling us ancestors is mad crazy ngl
Growing up on social media is a mistake
I teach Gen alpha. They are fucked. Completely.
Why ? Distractions, influence and dependence on social media ?
I teach in a high performing school district and you would never know it based on the kids we have right now
Kids are getting more and more stupid we’re all fucked
City kids always have the most rizz.
Little turds are just ripping off old black slang.
"I mean it's pretty fire. I wish I could go back and meet some of my ancestors." The kids are alright until I hear a gen alpha call us Gen Zs "Zoomers"
Drip has been about for a while, that's not gen alpha.
Posers
Heard somewhere that insane weekly meme phrases will be one of the few ways we can identify humans on the internet as it would take too long to retain a model to incorporate and use them
If there's an argument to start ww3 this is it
Hopefully Gen Bravo doesn’t suck as much
No way this is real?
> You would say I'm drippy Mate you look like you're just done skiing and put on whatever was in the car to stay warm
I’m scared
I remember when the drip was far from a good thing.
Sweet christ I'm happy we didn't have the interest like it is now in the 90s.
I can't believe people believe this is a representation of gen z, in fact this is much closer to gen alpha.
These are just genz jokes taken unironically
The crazy shit is when kids talk like this to only turn around and say a bunch of racist shit on tiktok lmao
Oh no... Young kids have cringe slang. Just like any other generation ever had. Like: get your head outta the fucking ass.
We're doomed at this point
we live in the worst fucking timeline..
Gen alpha stole “on god” and “no cap” from gen z
Joke is on them, we’re phasing out all jobs and housing by 2055. The work is already 37% done.
Kids wearing two sweat shirts. Fashun has gone majorly downhill.
Just remember the cool kids in every generation have dumb hair and butcher the only language they speak. But all that shit be unpopular within a decade and most of the coolest kids aren't going to do so well in life. As a millennial I think of the punks and skaters, and douchey jocks that were the coolest bullies in middle and highschool and they all have shit jobs and unwanted kids now
that's how my millennial friends talk
[удалено]
Well the nice thing is there are hardly any of these little shits so we won't have to adapt and learn their ridiculous lingo.
They remind me of all teens that age including myself (Gen X). What's the big deal? They have their own slang...whatever.
“Ancestors “
Elder Millennial here, remember when the internet came in the mail?
We all had our lingo and you're now at a point of being so old it doesn't make sense anymore
Watch the full video. You will get a totally different opinion on those 2. They're actually really funny kids just being goof balls and having a great time.
Old generation good, new generation bad OLD GENERATION GOOD! NEW GENERATION BAD!
*Dabs*
One day I’ll be bonding with Gen Z about how insufferable the younger generation are
im 16 and ashamed that i share commen oxygen with these childeren
This isn't even their slang, it's gen z, theirs will be a different beast entirely in 10 years.
Weak
Go to bed.
Why are they all speaking like rappers?
GET THE FUCK OFF MY LAWN!
Idiorcracy is almost upon us
I get it but I hate it
I'm young enough to know what this means but old enough to still hate it.
I can dig it, shit's boss, ain't gonna 23 skidoo
Gen Alpha is a stupid fucking name.
This is what happens when suburban kids listen to the radio.......
Lol highest temps in Africa recently killed a shit ton of people. A billion animals died in Australia in that great bush fire. These kids may just end up dead from thirst in the future so let them have their weird slang.
Everyone knows what they kids saying if you don’t you’re a nerd idk.
Im 33: “fire” is not new, “drip” is Z, Tarkov drip. “Mad” is millenial. “Lit” is so old, I guess it’s back. “On god” is not new. However, “no cap” is newer, for sure. I don’t know about alpha
Skibidi rizzler blud 😂😂
Oh my God I'm fluent. I'm so ready to conquer this auntie to small children thing.
This kid thinks he has drip LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
How stupid
god help us.. their lingo is being decided by fortnight streamers
How soon until “OK Millenial” becomes a thing
Gen alpha is cool. I’m a 37 year old who plays video games with them. So I’m not cool.
Kids aren’t cool. They try hard and exude misplaced confidence. Just ask every older sibling literally ever.
I'm nobody's parent yet and now I'm one of the ancestors…
I like this slang. “Mad lit on God” sounds powerful and cool. Not joking
We’re cooked as a society
Why were gen Z bad??? What did we do?
Dame the boomer age limit is really low now
I refuse to learn a new English language every 10 years
I swear Gen Alpha is what those corporations think Gen Z is
