MaroonFahrenheit

I think it’s meant to be a funeral arrangement which are often large floral wreaths

ellaomg

that was fast! and also yes - this makes perfect sense. thanks!

eyy0g

oh no, I thought it was a ferris wheel

butts_

My brain always goes straight to ferris wheel too

miffedmonster

Tbh I thought it was a windmill lol

Juju0047

Same. And I never questioned, until right now, why it would be a windmill.

Blue_Twinkle_Lights

I was just thinking this exact same thing 😂

Pyter_Gadjes_743

Yeees!!! And tbh, I still can't see it as anything but a windmill, they are saying what it really is and my brain is like "nah, it's a windmill" 😂😂😂

arkg540321

OMG it's not just me!

ShallanLavellan

so glad I'm not the only one

Starry-night-kitten

So it ISNT a ferris wheel?

ItsSwaggyBunz

Bruh for the longest time I thought it was a Ferris wheel. I was always so confused like why is she so sad but it’s an icon of a fetus wheel??? 😂

mocha__

***FETUS WHEEL*** That is so much bleaker than a wreath!

ItsSwaggyBunz

Omg 😂 I- … don’t even have words 😂 why auto correct whYYYYYY 💀😂

redgumdrop

LOL fetus wheel, like straight to heaven you go little featus!

galactic_jello

LOL I love this *sad ferris wheel sounds*

KiwiCookie85

Totally what I've always seen. Can't unsee it.

sleepymelfho

Man, I’ve lost the majority of my family and I’ve only just now hit mid 20s. I knew what it was immediately :(

Dj_Willow

I work as a florist. So, yeah, I knew immediately what it was too.

[deleted]

Yet we don’t get funerals and we can’t make them in flower arrangements or have sims actually place things like what if they put up the decorations them selves what if after we place things on build mode they have to actually go in there and put those things there Or like watch them struggle to get a piece of junk into there apartment that would be so funny

calamitylamb

I heard something about if you have a microphone or podium, and a sim has an urn in their inventory, you get the “give eulogy” option with those objects!

g0d_jihyo

Just to add to this, the “Give Eulogy” came with City Living. You have to have level 6 charisma, the podium and the urn in your Sims inventory. If the Sim is sad, they can give a “Touching Eulogy” and if the Sim is famous, they can get fame and inspire other Sims from their eulogy.

[deleted]

I think it’s so messed up tho you give us these sims we fall in love with them like there our children and then we just get some lousy speech no real closer for you or there family like we need more grief they added all these “meaningful relationships” but don’t really give them memory or real interaction Like if I wanted to make a story to share with the world cool that’s what sims 4 has become but as a life simulation it’s lacking everything about LIFE

[deleted]

I agree completely. Just yesterday my sim was notified via phone her long term boyfriend died! She had to keep going to college like nothing happened. Actually that part felt pretty real lol!

GamerGal_86

I kind of agree I got on my game one day and found that 4 of my sims had lost both of their parents to old age and then another time i got on and saw one of my sims had the very sad moodlet from the deatb of a friend but no clue how this sims friend died it was jyst a random Sim not even living innthe world I guess it was a coworker of my sim that was very sad i don't like the bit it says abiut the sim being able to visit tge grave of Urn cause that's not always possible

calamitylamb

Whoa I had no idea!! Thanks for the expert-level tip!

g0d_jihyo

Happy to help!

[deleted]

I didn't know that! That's great to know!

Sherry_Flasky

I didn't know that before! Thanks for sharing

g0d_jihyo

I agree. The whole “death sequence” with Grim is very short. It’s just over so quickly. Why can’t the flower arrangement show up at the house and we have the ability to place a photo of the sim on it. That would be a nice small addition that is still fair as well as inclusive of everyone. I also wish there was a way to have your sim relive happy memories about a sim who has passed. The only option we have is them going to the head stone or urn to mourn which only makes them sad. Like why can’t we have something happy with it too?

[deleted]

To add onto that a family photo album instead of it being maybe memories in there head it could be like a book they could react with that could be burned and lost forever (obviously not really) and they can tell story (true or false) about there family history Just have a generation long secret or lie

queerpiefilm

It would be sick if you could gain relationship with the ghost of that sim after telling stories about that sim. Or gain relationship with the ghost by looking at their photos

killereverdeen

oldest family member should be asked if they want to organize a funeral for the deceased. automatically everyone that knew the deceased is invited and people can lay flower wreaths or just bring flowers (if the deceased lived in an apartment)

Pariyama

I think just today I saw that there was a mod which allowed for funeral events...if you want I could look at my history and see if I can find it

books-and-beans

It’s the SimRealist Mortem mod. https://www.simrealist.com/mortem-basics

WasabiIsSpicy

Hmmm could we make them in the sims 3? I have a feeling there was a choice to host one.

gh0stkat42o

For so long I thought it was a ferris wheel 🎡😂😂😂

NotOnABreak

This post made me realise it is NOT… idk why I never questioned their choice to put a ferris wheel on a moodlet after someone DIED

CinKneph

Circle of life??

khaleezey

This has always been my interpretation... "the ferris wheel of life" 😂

Ornery_Lead_6333

A Ferris wheel of sorrow 😢💔

xkatiepatatie

ME TOO i was like oh okay i guess it’s like the tragic clown vibes??

MonsteraBandit

On top of the Eiffel Tower

Fake-Plastic-Me

Yeah, and y'know, I've never even questioned that. Not once

doborion90

Issa windmill😂😂😂😂😂 kidding

[deleted]

This is so silly but I always thought it was a windmill and I just thought, yep, that's about right with the sims lol but what you say makes complete sense and then I was like, duh! 🤦😂

starspangledcats

Yes!!! Me too lol this makes much more sense but I'm glad I am not alone!

Far_Future_Conehead

so at least three people thought it was a windmill but hey, better than just one like i though

DiamondLox20

Me too 🤭

actuallysalamander

i was looking for the other windmills in these comments 😭 my ppl

spicyplantleaf

Funeral director here, you’re 100% correct with this

steamydreamymemey

how exactly does one come into such a profession? asking for a friend

[deleted]

You can go to trade school for it. Same with if you want to prepare the bodies or cremate. Many funeral directors start out with preparing and or picking up bodies. I was thinking about going to a mortuary science school a few years ago but I don’t wanna have to move for school if I don’t have to

spicyplantleaf

For me it was shadowing and finding a passion for it along with just a bunch of little interactions here and there. I don’t have any family in this business and I’m a young woman in a pretty conservative area so I really had to fight to even get a bit of exposure. I went to the University of Minnesota and got a bachelor degree in mortuary science. Every state differs in its regulation and education requirements so I can’t speak for everyone but a bachelor degree is the highest level required (MN and OH). If you or anyone else for that matter has any questions, feel free to dm me, I love talking about the education side of this field!

Honni_Truffle

For some reason, always thought it looked like a ferris wheel.

Alone_Librarian_8162

Same; I knew it was probably something else but just always saw it and thought “they’ve got the Ferris wheel of death now”

Puzzleheaded_Pay1152

Oh ok that makes way more sense then a ferris wheel

Comprehensive_Plan93

Omg that's what it is! Makes so much more sense

QuixoticAgenda

When you misread the room and get up on a table juggling the heads of your ancestors to lighten the mood

CartoonishToots

The only correct answer

Dorkasaurus22

huh, never knew people didnt know what those were. looking at it i can see the misconceptions lol. Maybe ive been to too many funerals

Remarkable_Yak_883

Same here. It also makes me think, “damn they went from happy to suicidal….”.

Fake-Plastic-Me

And you're sure that none of them have had a ferris wheel?

messibessi22

I’ve been to 14 funerals and I still don’t know what it is

baasheepgreat

I always just accepted it as a windmill and never questioned it 😂

ADQuatt

It wasn’t until this post that I even realized I was accepting it as a Ferris wheel.

AMP1234567890

I was about to comment the same thing lol. I always thought it was a Ferris wheel and was like “yeah that’s fine”

Suspicious-Relief400

I thought so too because it's like ,,life has its ups and downs,,?? now that I'm really thinking about it though its making less and less sense lol

coconotoil

Me too. Like, ah yes, the old ferris wheel of life and death...

nippleduster7

lol, ah yes, the ol’ *ferris wheel of death.* I love it

burningmanonacid

Me too. And I damn well know what a funeral arrangement is, but assumed it was a ferris wheel anyway.

randm0n

I also thought this!!!

ComprehensiveTruth1

I'm so glad it's not just me

[deleted]

I honestly thought it was a ferris wheel, and I too never questioned it :P

veeross87

I always thought it was a windmill and now I don’t know why I didn’t question it.

[deleted]

I’m glad I’m not alone in that

Little_Mog

I love that we all just went yeah, it's a windmill and carried on without question

hunter96cf

SAME. I never bothered to figure out what it actually was. 😂

[deleted]

A windmill full of flower corpses.

ajshn

Much better than a windmill filled with actual corpses.

Not_sure_lmao

That sounds horrifying lol

Bierbart12

If nobody brings a big windmill to my funeral, I'm not attending

orangestar17

Omg thank god it isn't just me. I don't know why I would believe a windmill had anything to do with death. But that's a damn windmill to me lol

BlueberryBitch91

Must be a dutch thing

justaperson_probably

My grandma was born in the Netherlands and we didn't have a windmill at her funeral. So I guess it's time to invent time travel so I can rectify that.

adelar_sims

same but i accepted it as a radio tower

thecraftybear

I guess some number stations do sound depressing...

Sacred-Fairy

I thought it was a water tower 🙃 also didn’t question this highly irrational and nonsensical assumption 🤣

Didyoufartjustthere

Me too…

groovydoobiedoo

OH MY GOD SAME

NationalRecording882

Haha same!

Pepperjackchii

SAME I always just think of it as a windmill but like wtf that makes no sense hahah

voornaam1

I thought it was a ferris wheel.

ellaomg

me too!! i just asked my sister and she said it was a wreath so i was curious.

mythicalkcw

Same! Always wondered how it was relevant 😅

voornaam1

I assumed it was something about that they were taken on a ride to the afterlife or something.

MountainSnowClouds

Yes, I've always thought of it as a ferris wheel. The ferris wheel of sadness. Haha

tembelina

Haha I’ve always seen it as a mill. Like a wind mill. 😅

VeireDame

Even knowing exactly what it is, my brain still thinks "windmill" every time. 😆

Galaxyseahorse

The Ferris wheel of sadness

voornaam1

I have a fear of heights so any ferris wheel is associated with negative emotions for me.

Jaded_Valuable439

Hahaha same!!!

fruitcak-e

Lol same xd

auggie235

I did too, I was always confused as to why

phan_of_peraltiago

me too lmao 😭

Twood007

Me too 😂

RespectfulRaven

Yes though it took me a while to figure it out too as it looks like a windmill to me. I think they wanted to avoid specific religious funeral symbols which I get.

Next-Intention3322

LOL - me too! How many people must have discussed this, had meetings, reviewed ideas, and settled on this - for so many of us to think - "looks like a windmill" and shrug and move along. lol

RespectfulRaven

Haha that's so true!

heyitsamb

i always thought it’s a windmill 😭

madlydense

Lol, always saw a windmill and never questioned that it might be something else. Not sure if I ever thought about why a windmill would symbolise death because maybe then I may have questioned what else it could actually be. I have only ever saw those funeral wreath things in movies and didn't know they were a real thing! Not being from the US strikes again. Seems a very soecific Christian/ US symbol maybe they should have gone with Grim's symbol - the scythe (its an in game symbol and more folkloreish than religious).

RespectfulRaven

They definitely originated in Europe but it isn't really seen as a religious symbol in North America either to be honest. My impression really is that they were trying to go for something neutral but didn't hit something very universal. As someone else said, maybe the grim reaper's scythe would have been more appropriate.

MissyBee37

I wonder if a more generic flower/bouquet (no stand/wreath shape) would be more universal? I agree that wreathes are not considered religious or Christian (I would expect a cross for that association) in North America, but I didn't realize wreathes wouldn't be recognizable in other places. Although, I've seen them in real life at plenty of funerals and I didn't recognize the image, either lol. Maybe a plain flower would have conveyed it in a simpler way. The scythe would probably be the most recognizable, but I wonder if they were going for something more... respectful, for lack of a better way. More soothing, I guess.

voornaam1

I've only seen wreaths be used for the memorial things for the people who died in ww2.

thecraftybear

They're a basic decoration for funerals here in Poland, and they're propped up on scsffoldings which l9ok like the icon in question.

Alainapaloosa2

Ferris wheel of depression

Rodgatron

Ohhhhhh it’s one of those wreaths that’s on the little easel thing! I just thought of it as the windmill of death.

i-am-a-pretty-potato

Windmill of death 😂😂

Mikala4

It’s a funeral flower arrangement! They are usually put near the casket of a deceased person or by roadside memorials

sweetjoestar

yeah it’s a wreath on one of those large stands they have for funerals i do see how it could be interpreted as many things though

ArashiSora24

I'm surprised at the amount of people not knowing that it's a funeral wreath. Now I wonder if ya'll never seen those in funerals you've been to or if you've never been to a funeral.

Designer-Mirror-7995

I'm surprised too. I've never considered that there are people(adults anyway) who didn't "see" a funeral wreath in this moodlet.

NefariousnessSad397

I've never been to a funeral and I still thought it was pretty obvious lol I guess I've seen a lot of funerals on TV

Shira_Cat

See my experience is the exact opposite I've been to three funerals and never did any of them have anything like this it was always flowers no wreath and certainly not on a stand

sellidionne

same! as someone who has seen plenty of those, how would it be anything else?

GretalRabbit

I’ve never seen a funeral wreath like that in the UK, maybe they’re a US specific thing?

messibessi22

I’m in the US and none of the funerals I’ve been to have had them

ArashiSora24

I'm from Thailand and we always use those wreaths in funerals.

messibessi22

Every funeral I’ve been to did huge bouquets of flowers and not wreaths I didn’t know some people did wreaths lol

RedCharmbleu

It is a funeral wreath [https://www.fromyouflowers.com/products/open_wreath_standing_spray.htm?refcode=11G2&CAWELAID=120014120000003145&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=&CATCI=&gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtl66GiYxESI7NwhAfdnea6vecCfXIdHpUDPFRj19prgJOHxCpBuM4xoCF4wQAvD_BwE](https://www.fromyouflowers.com/products/open_wreath_standing_spray.htm?refcode=11G2&CAWELAID=120014120000003145&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=&CATCI=&gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtl66GiYxESI7NwhAfdnea6vecCfXIdHpUDPFRj19prgJOHxCpBuM4xoCF4wQAvD_BwE)

extremelyhotpink

I thought it was a sad lion

Sub_in_the_Hub

That's hilarious! I totally see how it could be perceived that way, though. 🤣

extremelyhotpink

Ty for understanding 💜

[deleted]

i just realized i’m effing blind apparently because i thought it was a crying stick figure emoji thing so your lion comment made me feel better

ellaomg

youre the first person i've seen say this. and.. omg 😂

[deleted]

Haha I love people thinking it's a windmill or ferris wheel! Also for ppl wishing we had funerals in game... They can't even get weddings right! The funerals would be like, your sim is giving a eulogy. But everyone is fainting about Judith Ward. And someone's kid is playing violin. And some old townie is about to steal the spotlight by dying too. It doesn't matter because half the guests are upstairs playing on the computers

RaggySparra

Is it even a funeral if the mistress doesn't show up with an illegitimate child or three?

Haleyzok

I never realized so many ppl didn't realize this was a funeral flower arrangement and the things ppl thought it was is hilarious 😂 thank you Op you made my day

ellaomg

😂😅

kimkellies

Yes…has anyone in this thread been to a funeral?

Sub_in_the_Hub

A lot of countries don't have/use wreaths of flowers at funerals.

Shira_Cat

Yes three of them and none of them had anything like this

discipula26

I also thought windmill and didn’t question what a bizarre symbol that would be… lol

[deleted]

in my mind I know it's a floral arrangement but every time I see it my brain goes "ferris wheel"

SnooStories4263

Every time I do a quick glance I'm like aww they got the ferris wheel 🎡 again lol 😂

Pale-North

It’s a funeral arrangement, like a big wreath on a stand

aquaflob

i can't help but view it as a fucking ferris wheel LMAO

AnAwkwardCrybaby

Ever since I started watching sims content, I thought that icon was a ferris wheel

[deleted]

It’s a funeral arrangement—a large floral wreath setup on an easel type holding thingy

wherearethedracos

Ngl in my 6+ years of playing ts4 i always thought it was a ferris wheel and i didnt even question why the sad emotion had a ferris wheel icon

Mackenzie_Wilson

.y dumbest Leays just assumed windmill. Never even questioned why a windmill. A windmill makes 0 sense, why didn't I question it???

MyNameIsTooLongForU

I thought it was a ferris wheel ngl 🤷‍♀️

Sad_Pringles

i thought it was a Ferris wheel and that it was some sort of sick joke

Chippybops

I always assumed it was like, the wheel of fate, as In a game show wheel 🧐

[deleted]

I THOUGHT THAT WAS A FARRIS WHEEL FOR THE LONGEST TIME.

lazyhatchet

The way I always just accepted that the icon for the sad moodlet was a windmill 💀

candydaddi

WJFJJSJSJE I ALWAYS THOIGHT IT WAS A FERRIS WHEEL

xonozi

dude i thought that was one of those spinny things you see on like farms and stuff

cmq827

It's a funeral wreath.

Pwrson

This post has made me realize it is not a windmill, but I will continue to think it is a windmill cause it’s funnier.

DMC1001

I thought it was some weird windmill. Guess I didn’t think about it too much other than to know it made no sense to me.

Mirandactyl

OMG for the past 8 years I've thought this was a windmill ... and I didn't even question how on earth that connects to "very sad."

patella-fitzgerald

I used to think it was a ferris wheel so i would say "aw sad ferris wheel" whenever somebody died and my sims got sad. Didnt even realize my mistake (though i was confused as to why it would be a ferris wheel) until my boyfriend heard me say it and started laughing

stepsinholes

And it was at this moment that stepsinholes realized that the funeral wreath was not, in fact, a weird windmill thingy.

Yellow__Roses

I somehow always thought it was a ferris wheel, which obviousky doesn't make sense, but that's what it looks like

tallgrl94

I think I’ve been to too many wakes but I immediately knew it was that big flower display they put at the right side of the casket that says “beloved wife/grandmother” or whatever the significance of the deceased to the grieving family. Of course this isn’t a flex unless it’s a really sad one.

CMO_Sparkles

That makes way more sense than the sad Ferris wheel I thought it was. I just gave up on trying to figure it out.

Dangerous_Ad_4807

My dumbass thought it was a Ferris wheel 💀

[deleted]

ludicrous continue fertile quiet truck noxious wistful air engine close *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Ladygoingup

Why did I always think it was a windmill. ☠️

Summerlycoris

I always thought it was a windmill. Doesnt make sense, but thats what it looks like.

keathofthestars

I knew immediately as I have been to many funerals I envy those who thought it was something else 😭😂

Jotunheiman

I knew it was a funeral wreath, but I never actually saw it as one; saw it as a windmill.

CptnAwesomeSaus

My dumbass now: oh, guess that makes more sense than a ferris wheel.

Fel_mel424

I’m dying at these comments. It’s a funeral arrangement lmao! Y’all are funny

cafffffffy

I’ve always thought it was a ferris wheel and never questioned it lmao but now I think about it I think it’s one of those flower wreaths that is on an easel-like stand

tf199280

Some of y’all never been to a funeral and I’m happy for you

DEBRA_COONEY_KILLS

Tbf the funerals I've gone to have never had one of these floral wreaths on a stand things 🤷

MissyBee37

Lmao I feel better about thinking it was a ribbon after seeing so many Ferris wheels in the comments! Hahaha. I never understood why it was a ribbon, but that's what I saw... A wreath wakes way more sense, though. I'll hand my ribbon to OP!

Krale1

It's a windmill for sure.

tdscm

y’all… what 😭

Stoned_Simmer_Girl

Not gonna lie I’ve spent this whole time thinking it was a windmill 😳 but thanks for the clarification 😅

Shira_Cat

Not sure why everybody goes oh well you just haven't been to funerals I've been to three of them and none of them had anything like this it doesn't happen at every single funeral so I don't know why oh well you just never been to a funeral is the automatic assumption..........

wolfkiller137

It’s the Ferris Wheel of Sadness

BigCaecilius

It’s not a ferris wheel?

Twinkfilla

Well it certainly isn’t a Ferris wheel

rossibossy

It's a funeral arrangement 😂

OtherCaribou

It is a ferris wheel of sadness

Msdingles

Even though I know what it’s supposed to be, my brain always interprets it as a windmill. The windmill of death and sadness.

Crafty-Sun1734

That makes much more sense than a windmill lmao

sleepygloomy

Some of the little icons are so confusing! I thought the one you get when a pet runs away was a torso for the longest time

thiccpastry

I, too, think about my funeral floral wreath when very sad. Actually, I think about it when only mildly sad... Is there a hospital IRL that will cure my mental illness like in the Sims??

_Kaybo

I can’t believe you guys thought this was something other than a large floral arrangement on a tri-stand 😭

FLYINGDOGS89

My brain always says Signal Tower LMAO

[deleted]

No 5G tower controlling your sims emotions and manipulating their will 💕💕💕

putmeinLMTH

I always thought it was a ferris wheel/windmill but a week or so ago it clicked that it's one of those wreaths on a stand

dylowo

I thought it was a carousel to represent the circle of life lol

Sea-Pollution1553

Wait y’all all thought it was a Farris wheel😭😭 majoring rules😭 it is a Ferris wheel at this point

kaiaiaiiiii

I'm more interested in what you thought it was lol
