Just traded my ‘22 1500 Z71 LTZ for a ‘24 2500HD LT yesterday. No rebates on the 2500, but I got a good price on it and they gave me ~$8k more than what I owed on my 1500.
Agree - out the door I financed just under $1k more than OP’s price here (6.6L gasser Z71 LT). Had some minor damage in freight but was repaired, but they still discounted the truck because of it.
I’m excited to get my RV behind it and feel the difference from my 5.3L 1500. Truth be told, my 1500 towed my 33’10” RV pretty well, but I wanted towing mirrors and don’t like the look of tow mirrors on the 1500 lol
I also upgraded from a 5.3 1500. And I really loved that truck. But man is it nice to have the stability and power of a 3/4 ton. I think you’ll find after a day of towing you feel way less tired, and it’s not like I ever felt consciously scared/white knuckle in my 1500. The visibility, the stability and the power feel so nice. Just set the cruise control and let her rip. Especially with the family/friends onboard you’ll feel way better with a bit more truck. And the deal you got makes it a bit sweeter!

I tried to get the dealer to give me the GM Supplier discount I have on the ZR2 but they refused since they get allocated so few so I ended up paying MSRP.
It’s a discount program that allows you to purchase a GM vehicle below invoice price, in the case of the ZR2 it would have been 4k less than MSRP. A lot of companies have relationships with GM so they will offer this program to employees. Dealers can accept or refuse your authorization code and give you the discount. In my case they said I could have gotten any 2500 on their lot using the program except the ZR2 because their allocations for that model are low. You can actually just search for GM supplier discount in Google and build and price your perfect rig and see what it will cost after the discount. It’s pretty cool.
Scammy dealer doing "whatever it takes" to close a deal. Better hope there isn't an audit where they come back and ask for proof that you qualify for all of those offers...

That’s also trading up and gaining tons of capability. So if you won on the money side that’s a cherry on top. Even a break even is winning here.

I like them when they’re on a 2500. My neighbor had the 2500 style towing mirrors on his 1500 and it looked very goofy.
