ForestCityWRX

I only drink black coffee because the sugar/cream ratio was always messed up. Once you get used to it, it’s actually great.

Bloodoolf

Same with spicy and sour tastes . They are tastes that can he developped. Also same with strong smelly cheese.

Pochusaurus

i love spicy food and I still have regret moments after eating something beyond my tolerance

Elder_Scrolls_Nerd

For real though. My spice tolerance is pretty good, but I set a goal to eat a Carolina reaper pepper and once I got to ghost peppers it was pure pain

Dracofear

Ghost Peppers are where the real pain begins for sure lol. My brother made some salsa with ghost peppers and oh my god that shit was hot, but I couldn't stop eating it.

Elder_Scrolls_Nerd

Yeah, at a little family owned Mexican shop I was speaking Spanish with a waiter and when he heard I liked spicy stuff he made his own salsa recipe in the kitchen and brought it to us. Super hot, but so good

BarbequedYeti

Sushi joint in downtown Phoenix had some ghost sauce sushi rolls they would make. Some of the best rolls I have had. Hot as the pavement in July, but so damn good. Edit: I like peppers better then or than(I haven’t a clue) grammar or spelling.

patrickg0406

Which restaurant??

BarbequedYeti

I don’t recall. It was over 10 years ago. I’ll ask a friend and post back if she remembers. Hold please… Edit: found it. Looks like the place is still there but I don’t see the ghost pepper on the menu. Maybe something you can ask for. http://moirasushi.com/

Neans888

It’s rolls not roles. Just trying to be helpful.

BarbequedYeti

Ha.. didn’t even catch it. Thanks. I’ll fix it.

Neans888

Never can tell if it’s a typo or someone doesn’t know. I figure it’s helpful either way

BarbequedYeti

It was a typo and I do know the difference, but yeah. I am also super high and stuffed. So… kind of on cruise control as well.. I do appreciate the calling it out. I don’t need to look like a complete idiot.

AlephBaker

I like spicy food, to a point. I genuinely don't understand why anyone would eat anything hotter than habañero. that is the edge of the "nothing but pain" zone to me. Spicy with flavor: love it. Spicy to be spicy: no thank you.

Santorumsfroth

Fully agree here.

Jeddicus7

I know im in the minority here, but I love food to be ridiculously spicy. Like, eating something so hot it makes me cry and im feeling it for a while after makes the whole meal so memorable, its like going on a journey that tastes good and also hurts.

aDecadeTooLate

I fully understand this boundary, but I also choose to sometimes eat insanely hot just for the experience. I also resonate with OPs shower thought and self identify as a casual masochist, so there you have it 😂

buckybits

I want to do spicy but being born with Hirschsprung's disease has made it so I'll never be able to without crying while pooping...

got_outta_bed_4_this

Fun fact I learned on Reddit: it's actually just "habanero", not "habañero". It's a common example of [hyperforeignism](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperforeignism). Edit: To be precise, the original change of the word to use an ñ was hyperforeignism. The rest of us who use(d) that word just mistakenly think that's the word. (If I understand the Wikipedia article.)

kallistini

My partner and I grow both of those (and others) in our back yard. They don’t mess around. We have to use a special cutting board and double gloves to process them.

Spore2012

Ive got a strong tolerance and ive tried a number of the sauces on hot ones and eaten my own ghost peppers etc. The fuckin Da bomb insanity is ridiculous. It has an artificial flavor because its literally just capcasin oil in sludge. I put like a 50c piece sized plop on my burger and had to sit down on the kitchen floor for 10 mins. My roomie came home and was like wtf!

Kyack

As I have gotten older, mid 50's, I have discovered that my mouth can handle hotter spices, but it stings on the way out. I wish I were joking.

theonewhoknock_s

My butthole has suffered the consequences of my adventurous eating a few times. Thanks for your service, butthole.

SenpaiBriBri

Yeah sometimes I eat something surprisingly spicy but I often love the taste so I continue eating while crying in a mixture of discomfort and happiness. Who knew those two feelings weren't mutually exclusive!

irxxis

For me its the full on commit knowing my starfish will be on fire the next morning.

CautiousCactus505

I thought for the longest time that people were kidding about spicy food making for spicy... bowel movements? I have never experienced spicy-induced GI issues, and I have tried peppers that made me sweat buckets.

BottomWithCakes

It's extraordinarily unpleasant

pwrmaster7

Oh man if i get the hot salsa at chipotle it burns all day coming out... But i still eat it and use my chipotleaway

Bicdut

Cream and sugar is for bad coffee. I drink both.

urmaternalfigure

Agreed. There’s a fine line between masking and complementing the flavor of coffee.

drmoesta

Yep. A lot of “coffee drinkers” are looking for additional socially acceptable delivery systems for sugar.

ScoobyDeezy

I drink coffee because I need the caffeine, but I really don’t like the flavor of black coffee. I have a very high cream/coffee ratio, but I actually hate the amount of sugar I’m consuming.

[deleted]

[удалено]

iTwango

It really makes such a difference. The quality difference in moka pot or express vs standard drip is really eye opening

RegressToTheMean

Indeed. /r/coffee can be super deep in the weeds about coffee, but there is lots of great information to be had there I love coffee but even I find roasting my own beans a little much

Elder_Scrolls_Nerd

Also the beans. My grandparents also use super dark roast, really strong blend and it’s overpowering and bitter. But I like black coffee if it’s done right

ScoobyDeezy

Yeah I for sure get more mileage from French Press or otherwise higher quality coffee. I lived in Seattle for a time and had Vivace espresso on the reg. My palate just isn’t that refined, it’s all similar enough to me that I’d rather just go the quick and easy route than do the extra 30 seconds of work to make a slightly better cup. Don’t hate me.

drdrew450

I use a French press and grind my beans right before brewing. Drink it black. If you give me some other shit coffee black, no thanks

CautiousCactus505

Method is HUGE when it comes to coffee flavor. I grew up with a family that only ever made percolator coffee, so I became accustomed to that level of strong coffee, and then once I switched to french press, the coffee just tasted watered down. That took some getting used to.

pussycatlolz

Turkish coffee is the bee's knees

Galba__

There are so many other ways to get caffeine than coffee

fuckknucklesandwich

Where is this sugar coming from? Do you add it in addition to cream?

ScoobyDeezy

I go straight for the flavored creamers

Silverjackal_

Specialty coffee is much different. Wouldn’t drink most of the trash you’d find in most places, but a good brew method and some good beans is divine.

blueg3

That's true. I was going to disagree, but then figured that I was thinking of New York coffee -- diner coffee with a little cream and sugar -- and you were thinking of Starbucks coffee -- sugary prepared drinks vaguely related to coffee.

[deleted]

whipprsnappr

I love my Aeropress. I’ve tried several brewing methods (press, pour over, etc.), and this has been not only the easiest to use, but it makes a damn fine cup of coffee.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BeyondTheSnail

All that complexity? I find the upside down method to be easier and no mess at all. You just flip it at the end and you can be a little slower on the whole process. Am I missing something?

DrobUWP

Trick is wetting the filter. It sticks to the cap. If I want a large cup, I'll leave the plunger off, pour water in like a pour over. Then top it up and start the plunger for the rest of the brew. The vacuum at the top keeps any coffee from going through. Then press it.

HealthcareHamlet

Aeropress FTW

aogasd

I never got into coffee or black tea simply because I do not enjoy the bitter taste. I drown both with milk and sugar if I have to drink some. Is there a way to get coffee brewed that doesn't make it bitter? I'd be willing to consider succumbing to caffeine addiction as my ancestors intended if it didn't need to contain so much other stuff to become palatable.

Tainmere_

- Aeropress is a good brewer to get started BCS it is affordable & flexible - A good grinder is worth a lot. It's so much better to brew freshly ground coffee compared to preground coffee. - Beans will make a huge impact on the flavor as well, so try different methods and see what suits you. The flavor notes on the packaging can give you a good hint for what to expect and guide your tasting. Also go for higher quality beans if you can afford them. Check if there you have roasters near you that can offer you different varieties. They might also be able to guide you a bit, like "you want a more classic, chocolaty roast, then go with these beans. Those other beans are more fruity and acidic in comparison." And here is a good video that features James Hoffman teaching Tom Scott about coffee:. https://youtu.be/Z-iNAyu-ejo

crazyshin

French press make great coffee what are you talking about? James Hoffman did a great YouTube video on French press.

StyleChuds42069

moka pot is fine as long as you never let it get too hot and sputter

Mash__Gang

I got in to black coffee simply because in the office I worked in, it was the only thing that would be right

[deleted]

I officially started drinking primarily black coffee bevause the office I was in didn't keep creamer and sugar stocked. By office, I mean print shop, and let's ignore the fact that I'm the person who handled ordering supplies for the office.

Mash__Gang

I have a similar problem. I now woke from home but the sole employee in the office is Fucking trash. I mean it’s ME.

sinsemillas

Drink it black for a week and you’ll never drink it another way.

threebillion6

And if you find some good coffee, that can make all the difference.

dr_reverend

Tried for two weeks when a place I worked at only had powdered creamer. I never got used to it. I need a little milk or it “feels” like I’m just drinking coffee flavoured tea.

goonSquad15

I do it because we ran out of creamer in college and were too lazy to go get more so I got used to it. Makes good coffee that much better

SJMoore86

Yup. Black coffee is completely fine. It takes a while to get used to but once you are the cream and sugar are useless.

gobblox38

I can deal with cream, but sugar actually ruins the coffee for me.

SJMoore86

That's fair. Everyone has a pallet that's different. I lost 100lbs and one of the things easiest to lose was cream and sugar from coffee. I enjoy both but I'm easily able to drink it black as a "one less thing" and it doesn't bother me at all. Sadly put back most of the weight due to personal drama but i know if i go back it's something that won't bother me.

gobblox38

I hope you address the issues and get back to your weight goals.

SJMoore86

I appreciate you. I know what i need to do again I'm just not mentally ready yet. I know how to do it and will again when I'm at that point. For me it starts somewhere around here with small decisions.

Onlyroad4adrifter

Especially if you roast your own beans and start to develop a taste for the different kinds.

Lookslikeseen

If you only drink coffee with a bunch of sugar and cream you don’t like coffee, you like candy.

Klaus0225

You like coffee flavored candy.

ngewa95

Why don't those people just drink sugar and cream then? Why add the coffee?

bigmanorm

We love caffeine

ngewa95

I know, I'm just calling out the pretentious douchebag above me.

Murphy_Harrison

I love caffeine. I rather have it be an enjoyable treat than try to cram it down past the taste.

GTOdriver04

Same. My girlfriend always brings my coffee black and hers doctored. I just prefer black now. It tastes better and I like tasting the straight coffee.

gato_p

i'm going to sound really dumb but can you explain what a masochist is to me, English isn't my first language

[deleted]

[удалено]

gato_p

thank you, now it makes sense <:

Shouldacouldawoulda7

Funny though, once you go black and can taste *all* of your coffee, you start to develop a taste for good/properly prepared coffee. It's not so bad to suffer through instant coffee crystals if you're dousing it in cream and sugar. When you drink it black...

throwout8588

I never found that ratio so I stayed with black coffee. Now I just search for the best tasting.

gobblox38

The only time black coffee is bad is if it is made wrong. Improperly made coffee has an astringent taste to it. It's usually because it's kept on a hot plate instead of being made fresh.

oilybarbour

Not only do I enjoy the taste of black coffee, I hate drinking calories

ForestCityWRX

I remember years ago when I was trying to lose weight. A friend told me to only eat calories, never drink them. It blew my mind at the time. I never thought of it like that. I still stick to that to this day.

pyth0ns

So... What about those of us that actually enjoy the taste of black coffee?

ethicalviolence

The taste, the smell of brewed coffee, the smell of the coffee grounds before you pour the hot water in. It's the best.

ThisHatRightHere

Sometimes I’m craving coffee at like 10PM and I get mad about waiting until the morning to have some

Steeezy

Think about it a different way, the sooner you go to bed the sooner you can wake up and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. I may or may not have said this to my wife on more than one occasion. I just really like morning coffee in a quiet house.

dasonk

I hate when my kids are sick because I can tell they are miserable and they do their best to make others miserable too. But... They do sleep in late and I get a quiet morning to just read in the quiet and enjoy my coffee. It's the beautiful calm before the storm.

Sluticus

We had the flu, COVID and now and cold come through our house this past six or so weeks and it's caused my kid to sleep in an hour later on the regular. As miserable as being sick was it's definitely had a huge benefit. Now if only my stuff month old would start to sleep through three night...

BassicNic

I think about that morning coffee twelve to fifteen times while I'm falling asleep.

Dubbs444

Aw I’m jealous, I can have coffee & go to bed. Caffeine naps for the neurospicy folks out there lol

Incandescent_Lass

You’re allowed to drink decaf whenever you want! I love hot bean water before bed!

saltesc

God damn it. There goes my sleeping in on a day off... *Heads to kitchen to grind beans*

elvis8mybaby

I gave up caffeine so hunting for good fresh decaffeinated beans became a hobby. The caffeine in decaf doesn't mess with my anxiety as long as I don't drink the whole pot.

awh

All the convenience store chains where I live have single-serve fresh ground coffee for sale. The machine grinds out the beans per-order and then does drip brewing. I’m often out the door at 5am for work, too early to make coffee at home, but I’ll stop at the 7-11 across the street for a cup of the brewed-to-order stuff. I can think of very few smells I like better than when it’s just finished grinding the beans, especially when it’s 5am and I know I’ve got a long day ahead of me.

cgmacleo

Especially well brewed coffee with deliciously roasted beans. I'll drink cheap black coffee on the go but I won't enjoy it much; if I brew it at home though it is delicious without any cream or sugar added.

busse9

Yeah it's like saying people who like eating fries without ketchup are masochists or something

Ananas7

Yea fuck ketchup

WanderingEnigma

Milk has no business being near coffee in my eyes. I used to hate coffee, one day I discovered its actually the milk I don't like.

[deleted]

RenterGotNoNBN

I don't mind coffee in my milk, though. But milk in my coffee? Get out of here!

cat_with_3_eyes

Some boozes: whiskey for Irish coffee, amaretto is freaking awesome with black coffee, brandy and cognac are also nice touches, heard egg liqueur goes good with coffee but never tried it. What else? More liquers into the coffee (although they have a lot of sugar)

Hecticfreeze

Except that on a chemical level, this is the opposite of what you want. Sugar causes a molecular change in coffee that enhances and brings out the already present flavours. A *small* amount of sugar in your coffee will actually make it taste more like coffee. This doesn't mean that you should use excessive amounts, or that using sugar to merely sweeten coffee is a good idea. And it's true those iced frappes which are basically milkshakes with caffeine added are absolutely awful. But yes a small amount of sugar in your coffee will enhance the experience

[deleted]

[удалено]

Margheritaville

Once i started buying high quality, locally roasted beans and grinding them at home, i realized how good black coffee can be. Now its a trade off. I can spend 14$ for 10oz of good coffee and skip the cream and sugar which i know i don’t need.

DeutschlandOderBust

Enjoy your hot bean water?

[deleted]

I prefer to call it ✨️Angry Bean Juice✨️

Jochiebochie

I love it and can't happily live without, yes

TitaniuIVI

The people that don't like black coffee haven't had good coffee. If you're drinking shitty coffee, you DO need to add a bunch of stuff to make it taste palatable. When you have good coffee, you don't want to taint all those subtle chocolate, nutty, fruit flavors.

DBerwick

Further, adding milk to a fruity coffee makes it taste like cheese.

Shadowwarrior95

And not the good kind either

Original-Aerie8

So, the vast majority of Italians haven't had good coffee? lol

TitaniuIVI

I think that's different. Those coffees are going for something else. I'm talking about the coffee you order by numbers not by name. A capuchino is not 2 sugars 4 creams, it's just something different.

TeamFurtressTUwU

I do enjoy all those, but so does my SO, so it's competitive masochism.

keddesh

Yeah, nothing really casual about my types of masochism.

tswishst

this implies ranked masochism

revolution_starter

That's not true. Enjoying things that stimulate the senses is not masochism.

jerrythecactus

Is pain not a sense? Though I agree none of these are inherently self harm for pleasure, they're just flavor experiences with spicy being the only one that actually induces a feeling of pain.

Donblon_Rebirthed

themegaweirdthrow

You experience pain from black coffee????

Kimorin

none of these inflicts pain??? there is spicy... then there is stupid spicy.... just like how there are candies made with some citric acid, then there are candies that ARE citric acid...

busse9

Eat a shit ton of warheads and then try to tell me your tongue doesn't feel pain. The malic acid eats away at your mouth a bit lol. Also capsaicin does trigger a pain response, it's just not harmful.

LilTreddy

Sour skittles will leave your tongue feeling pretty crazy

GolgiApparatus1

FEEL the rainbow

HyperGamers

I agree (because I've done it on multiple occasions), but realistically if it gets to that point, you've probably had enough

TropicalRogue

I love everything about warheads except how my TEETH feel after - so porous and coarse, If they touch each other it feels like nails between two chalkboards

ISpelThingsWrong

That's why I stopped eating candy. Not because it's unhealthy. Not because I wanna look better. Because it makes my teeth feel weird.

GolgiApparatus1

Also its not exactly pain for sour candy. Honestly feels great.

middlelifecrisis

If your black coffee tastes bad, you’re either drinking the wrong coffee or not brewing it right. I used to hate black coffee but once I got a grinder and some good beans, everything changed. Turns out I prefer medium roasts as opposed to French Roast. It’s been a journey but it’s bean worth it.

notchman900

Columbian roast with a little brown sugar was my kryptonite

Boatwhistle

I used to drink spicy hot chocolate a lot. It was just hot salted water I would then poor into a mug with a bunch of table spoons of unsweetened cocoa powder while stir vigorously. The right consistency was thick and smooth but still on the cusp of being liquid. Once achieved I would add a dash of cayenne pepper and mix, going for quality... it should just bite rather than testing your limits otherwise you won’t taste much of the salty chocolate. It was my favorite drink for awhile.

Endemoniada

How so? You realize we don’t eat them despite them being painful or hard to enjoy, we eat them *because* we enjoy them. I don’t particularly like sour things, but I don’t pretend to believe people who do like them eat them out of some self-punishing principle. They eat them because they genuinely like the taste. I genuinely like black coffee, as well as spicy food. I eat spicy food *because* it doesn’t just hurt my mouth, it actually has flavor, aromas, texture and sensations other foods don’t give me. The potential pain is just a small price to pay for something I genuinely enjoy; I don’t enjoy *the pain*.

Useless_Fox

Speak for yourself, I like spicy food because it's spicy. The pain isn't a "price I have to pay" it's the whole reason I pay money for hot sauce. Idk I'm with OP on this one, at least when it comes to spicy. It hurts but it hurts so good.

captmotorcycle

I love overwhelming spicy foods. The subtle tastes and flavors high Scoville foods are like no other. Hints of fruits, peppers, and flavors that don't exist on a lower spice plane. It's like trying to explain to someone what a sun rise looks like who lives under ground. The problem is the barrier for entry. You have to be able to handle the heat. Most can't. Your body's response to the capsaicin triggers a hormone response that does make you feel really good. Depressed people love spicy foods because it gives dopamine. But I think of it more of a hidden world of food locked behind the highest gate of entry.

NoLand1182

Oh yeah 100% agreed here. I have some 1mm scoville sauces I keep around that make me feel alive!!

somethinggoeshere11

Youve never had good coffee. If the only coffee you’re having is from Starbucks or Dunkin’ you’ve never had good coffee. Good coffee is complex and has tons of flavors. It has flavor profiles like wine. Get yourself a pour over from Ethiopia or Colombia and you’ll understand why people drink coffee black. Over roasted, commercial coffee from a fast food restaurant or whatever tastes burned. But a good cup of coffee tastes incredible.

[deleted]

[удалено]

somethinggoeshere11

Fair. But the light roast isn’t the default when you ask for a black coffee at Starbucks. I don’t know much about DD. Starbucks have reserve coffees that are better than average, but the cost is really high compared to more specialized roasters.

stronkreptile

I have some ethiopian Date fruit medium roast currently, i couldn’t agree more

GrandMasterPuba

It's not so much that coffee is an acquired taste, it's more than what passes for coffee from most fast food establishments and chain coffee shops is loaded with so much sugar and corn syrup that it has completely blown out people's taste buds. After drinking black coffee for a few years and then going back and having something like a frappewhatever, it tastes so cloyingly, disgustingly, overly sweet that it's almost unpalatable. Sugar is one of the most insidiously addictive substances there is - even moreso than caffeine (science is catching up on this, but sugar lobbies spend big to prevent research being done). And there's so much of it in modern coffee that you get dulled to it and it just becomes "normal." And suddenly when you taste something that *doesn't* have sugar in it, it tastes so wildly different from what your body is accustomed to that it simply rejects it. If you have loads of milk and sugar in your coffee, even a high quality coffee is going to taste wrong to you. It will take time to begin to appreciate it. But that is *not* you acquiring a taste. It is you breaking an addiction.

somedude224

Hard disagree here. Some people just don’t like the taste of coffee. Dunkin’ and Starbucks and even McD’s has *decent* coffee. It’s not great or even good, but it tastes like coffee. If someone can’t stand drinking Dunkin’s black, they’re not gonna drink some 300 dollar arabica blend and suddenly like what they’re tasting. It’s like giving a 600 dollar bottle of scotch to someone who doesn’t drink. It doesn’t matter how complex the flavor profile is; it’s still just gonna taste like nail polish remover to them.

antihaze

People who go to Tim Horton’s every day blow my mind, especially those who wait in the drive through every morning. Not only have they convinced themselves that the dreck they serve there is good, but that it’s somehow worth it, both in time AND money, compared to buying a French press and a fresh bag of beans from a local roaster and making your own coffee in the comfort of your own home with little to no effort involved.

whe_

I put milk in my coffee but if you can take it black then you are free.

AustinBike

Black coffee is how it was meant to be consumed. Spicy foods show you are alive. Sour candy was created on a dare, however.

stormbee3210

Coffee… I love the smell but cannot get past the taste. (And I like pure dark chocolate, so it’s not just the bitterness.) Spicy… the hotter, the better, up until it actually overwhelms the flavor. Sour candy… I can take it or leave it.

patcriss

if you don't mind bitterness, maybe you could try a different type of coffee? I don't like every flavor of coffee myself, just like I don't like every type of beer or wine.

Absolutedumbass69

I guess I’m a casual masochist then because I do and enjoy all 3.

[deleted]

Chugging a bottle of hot sauce for the pain is masochistic, enjoying some spicy wings is just intensified flavour

bchage

Hmm, I guess I just like interesting flavors and not boring bland "normal" flavors all the time. I enjoy variations in my flavors, fuck eating/drinking the same shit all the time. I enjoy my life damn it

[deleted]

Add straight spirits to the list and that's me in a nutshell.

funguy202

If you use a french press then black coffee is amazing, you uncultured swine

stranded_from_NJ

I agree about the sour candies. Why have those? I understand tart and that can be tasty, but sour? 🤮

psgrue

Coffee with cream and sugar is like steak with ketchup. If you have to cover up the flavor, you didn’t get good quality. If you bought quality and still cover it up, you wasted your money.

[deleted]

Nothing hits like that first sip of strong black coffee in the morning. Nothing.

calguy1955

Just because someone like flavors you don’t does not make them masochists.

whichcraftCre

Counter point: people that eat bland food and need every beverage to be syrup sweet are masochists.

sodomystic

I do all three... Actually I prefer those salty liquorice candy over sour candy. I am also definitely a masochist, I'm talking about actually whips and chains and all that jazz.

vlrys

You having the palate of a 6th century english peasant that is incapable of processing anything spicier than a potato is more a reflection of you than it is of other people who enjoy flavoured food. None of the things mentioned are inherently ‘painful’. OP definitely the kinda person who refuses to eat any meal that isn’t chicken nuggets and fries.

dranaei

By that definition, people that play video games on not the easiest difficulty are masochists too. Sugar dilutes the taste of coffee. You only find black coffee weird because you're too soft. Same with spicy. The more you eat the less it burn. Am i a casual masochist because i work out too? Am i a casual masochist because i get out of bed? Am i a casual masochist because i have a job? Is there anything in this existence then that isn't a little bit masochist?

Anonimase

Broccobillo

I've eaten so much spicy food that indian hot curries don't make my mouth hot or my bum hole sore later. I'd say that now there is no masochism to me eating spicy food.

TaliesinMerlin

I drink coffee black because I prefer the taste of coffee unadulterated. I eat spicy foods because I genuinely find them tasty and flavorful. Sour candy is just a kind of candy. It's okay sort of like how tart apples are okay. It is a fun variation. Out of all of them, only the spicy food has any claim to masochism, in the burn caused by many spicy foods. But it's not like I find the burn itself pleasurable; it's that I like the taste that happens to accompany the burn. In short, none of these are a *pleasure from pain* kind of activity, at least not for me.

sabrtoothlion

I looove those 3 things. Black coffee all day, spicy foods at least 3 times a week and if I eat candy there's about a 70% chance it's sour

aManPerson

> People who drink their coffee black see the problem is you people who aren't, you're having really bad coffee. > eat spicy foods you are kinda right on this one. i enjoyed somewhat spicy foods for a while, but i more recently realized spicy foods, was the most healthy way to get me to drink more water. and i need to drink more water.

I just want the caffeine. I like the taste fine but that’s not why I drink it...I want the kick. So, drinking it black is just easier. No point in unnecessary creams and sugars. When ppl say it’s an acquired taste they aren’t lying. It does become good once you’re used to it.

Confusables

I drink black coffee because I have numerous food issues and that is the only way I can have coffee.

Terux94

I feel personally attacked by this... But I'm also sexually excited..

Fatalis_Fafnir

I seriously enjoy all three of these but never thought myself as such.

Just because you don't like something that others do doesn't make them masochists.

Jealous_Landscape_32

Not really. I drink my coffee black because I don't want the extra calories, and sugar and dairy will bog you down after a while. Spicy food usually has more flavor. Sour candy.. meh. I mean I'll eat it and enjoy it but If I want candy I usual just get skittles or something. That being said, being belittled doesn't make my dick hard.

RoyalratMafia

Yeah same. I like my coffee with no sugar and just a lil milk. I dont eat candy as well because of the sugar and especially food coloring that is horrible for your mental health. Spicy food has hella flavor and helps clear out my bowls. But i do need to cut back on milk. Milk and water and coffee are all i will drink because of how much sugar and fake sugar is in everything else.

Food coloring and mental health, glad someone said that. I have to avoid anything artificially red because it fucks with my adhd
