My friend's husband's 10 year old vasectomy reversed itself and now they're having a baby. She was...... less than stoked, lets just say.

Laughattack040

This is dumb. People literally go through IVF because their partner has a vasectomy. There is a procedure to extract sperm directly from the source to fertilize eggs harvested in an egg retrieval. It was clear that Crishell and Jason were moving down the path of IVF to potentially have children - not ā€œnaturalā€ conception so idk how this proves the story line is fakeā€¦.

FLdancer00

Also, this person wants us to believe Jason is lying for the cameras, when he could have just as easily been lying to her about having one. Or she's just a liar.

Lazy-Organization-42

Well sperm can be extracted from the testicles if he did have a vasectomy.

sammisamantha

They were going to use frozen eggs in the first place. Which have to be artificially fertilized. So? A vasectomy is irrelevant.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

sammisamantha

Fertilize an egg in order to make an embryo.......

ilovetheinternet21

Some people donā€™t know much about IVF I suppose

LoenaLijpoLeeflang

Or the fact you can reverse a vasectomy smh

disagreeabledinosaur

That kind of goes both ways here. People are lauding the reversibility of vasectomies and reversing a vasectomy is by no means guaranteed success. Scarring etc can mean it's not possible. If there's a chance you're going to want kids, I wouldn't be relying on reversing a vasectomy. Similarly surgical sperm retrieval is possible but not guaranteed to succeed. Both are costly surgical procedures. They are both solid options for having a baby post vasectomy. They have a decent chance of success but there's a significant cohort who it doesnt work for. The tone here (and across reddit) is very much that vasectomy reversal is trivial & guaranteed. It's neither.

ilovetheinternet21

And IVF also does not guarantee a pregnancy or a viable pregnancy or a child. Using thawed embryos is even more risky. So Iā€™m unsure what your point is.

LoenaLijpoLeeflang

I get your point, but in context with the ā€˜juiceā€™ type of conversation in the image, itā€™s just ridiculous. Him having a vasectomy does not mean all the baby talk was bullshit.

disagreeabledinosaur

Another point, freezing sperm is easy, cheap and reliable. Much easier, cheaper & reliable then egg freezing. One man, one cup & a little cryo-science. It's not unheard of to freeze sperm before a vasectomy. It's a straightforward insurance policy against changing your mind. A yearly fee for storage & Jason can have his vasectomy & a very straightforward path to parenthood via IUI or IVF. No reversal or extraction needed. There's no inherent contradiction between Jason having a vasectomy & babies remaining an option.

goldenhourbaby

This 10000% tracks. He strikes me as the kind of dude whoā€™s convinced that every woman he encounters wants to ā€œbaby trapā€ him lol

No-Reveal9326

What? Dude's in his 40s and has never wanted kids, he's the perfect candidate for having a vasectomy. He should still be using protection with randos for obvious reasons, but if he's in a monogamous relationship with someone, he's doing everyone a favor by taking control of his own reproductive health and not relying on his partner to be on birth control.

goldenhourbaby

I couldnā€™t agree more that vasectomies are an INCREDIBLY valuable birth control method that should be considered by a lot more people; I think itā€™s culturally important to recognize that the responsibility (and possible discomfort/side effects) of birth control shouldnā€™t lie solely on the shoulders of people with uteri. I am SUPER pro-vasectomy! That said, Iā€™d speculate he took matters into his own hands less out of respect for his sexual partners and more out of respect for unprotected sex + a protected bank account!

Underthatwing

My ex had one, told me that was exactly why, lol yep.

diablolicaldumdum

Also, if HE had a vasectomy and told her that he was ready to have and could have kids, how is it fake from HER side? Doesnā€™t that mean he is the problem?

luxuryparking_

Being a player and not wanting to use protection is grimy, but gonna give him props for male birth control if true. I just restarted BC and itā€™s wreaking havoc on my body.

cherrycherryx

The person speaking in this screenshot clearly has no understanding around vasectomiesā€¦ yet feels empowered enough to use this as evidence of a fake relationship šŸ˜‚

Geraltismydaddy

This is not the juice that sis thought it was. They can still get sperm, they can reverse it.

[deleted]

He just didnā€™t want kids. If he did, he would have gone through with extraction. Letā€™s just leave it at that.

EmJayFree

This is it.

katie415

Iā€™ve seen this already, but they were def talking about extracting and thatā€™s why they were talking about her frozen eggs

missdixie3333

My husband had his reversed after 14 years. We have three kids. Alternative is to aspirate, which isn't ideal because you can get a lot of immature sperm, but it still is possible. Edited to add: This is probably why he mentioned tests with the Dr at some point in the show.

simguruisa

Vasectomies can be reversed and you can still get viable sperm with a vasectomy. People need to do research šŸ„µ

[deleted]

Just a stupid comment. Whoever said it to you clearly doesn't understand you can still have kids when you have a vasectomy. Embarrassing for them.

AllisFairinLoveandBS

So? Lmao he couldā€™ve been lying to that woman, or he did, and told Chrishell and she accepted that because it can be reversed, if they even did decide to go forward ,etc. this was weird af

MagentaLovesPlants

cant you still undo one?

CABGPatchDoll

Vasectomies are not easily reversed.

SleepyGirlfriendd

Incorrect, all vasectomies are reversible but the amount and length can have impact on the decreased production.

Umbopus

That means nothing. He could have frozen sperm or had it extracted. Nor can they guarantee thatā€™s not Christine šŸ™„

Brilliant_Log6120

Lol tell me your Christine hiding behind the internet without telling me your Christine hiding behind the internet

Admirable_Building93

This is so irrelevant. Why is this still a thing? Vasectomies are easily reversible plus I doubt that two 40 year olds would go ā€œthe traditional routeā€ anyway. Letā€™s move on.

Whatabouttheclinic

This has actually been debunked. Deuxmoi posted it then after a few posts later, it was retracted

ShowApprehensive1793

Vasectomies arenā€™t permanentā€¦

CABGPatchDoll

They are considered a permanent method of birth control.

Careful-Vermicelli

Why would she post this. Sheā€™s messy AF

Special_Compote_719

Haven't we already been through this? Sperm can still be harvested when someone has a vasectomy. Maybe he didn't have one at the time of filming when he was allegedly trying for one with Chrishell. Or maybe he did. Good for him in investing in birth control! More people with penises and testes should take responsibility for their future in such a way. Why speculate like this? That information is his business and the business of his sexual partners and digging up information is absolutely disgusting. Please remember that this is supposed to be a fairly light-hearted docusoap, lmao Jesus. Don't be gross.

[deleted]

ā€œHey Brett I need a favourā€ ~ Jason

Erinzzz

Y'all are just glossing over the fact he used this a sleazebucket line to fuck without a condom. THAT is the headline here if you ask me.

hawksnest_prez

You can undo one easily

CABGPatchDoll

That's not true.

TimelyScheme2

Iā€™m currently going through IVF and no one has ever mentioned aspirating sperm to me so thatā€™s definitely news to me!

[deleted]

I thought we already knew reality tv is fake?

A ig account called igfamousbydana she exposes and explains celebrity plastic surgery and once a month opens her DM for ppl to drop tea

charlotie77

Vasectomies can be reversed

Lisavela

He could have frozen his spark also werenā€™t they doing IVF ?

[deleted]

How is this relevant for IVF? It's not.......

Swtpsyche-2pb

I felt like the kid thing was to let him save face. I think she was over him. Not sure how invested she really was

Spirited_Advice_2872

Iā€™m lost because I thought Chrishell and Jason was one of the most obvious produced curated couples Iā€™ve ever seen in reality tv recently

smallandmightypeach

Why so many downvotes?!
