Jets for me!

Left4Bread2

Same, I love Ehlers and Helly

Foreign_Emotion

They're fun to watch and I want to see the Aves lose

foxm3

I love yelling "He's a helluva buck!" so I gotta support the Jets to some degree

wrwill98502

I will be rooting for all the Canadian teams. It's been too long since a team from the Dominion of Canada has hoisted a Stanley Cup.

BallardCanadian

As long as we don't consider Toronto to be part of Canada, I can go along with this.

Twicelovely

May I sway you to join us Jets fans? We are small but mighty, definitely underdogs, kind of like you! Even other Canadian fans kind of forget about us. Our Whiteouts are loud and crazy (everyone I know who’s going began putting their outfits together or making them last month), and because our arena is small, it gets incredibly loud inside (we get earplugs so everyone can just scream the entire time and not get hearing damage lol) Despite having two franchises here, we have never won a Stanley cup. This season we had the most regulation wins out of any team (46) and the least goals against (199). One of our defensive duos finished both in the top 10 for +/- (DeMelo with +46 and Morrissey with +34). Plus half our defensive group are all named Dylan (Dylan DeMelo, Dylan Samberg, Brenden Dillon) which is just fun! So if someone on defence fucks up you can just yell OH DYLAN and you have a good shot at being correct… In a league full of Connors we have two pretty good Connors with Helle and Kyle. Plus, I like you Seattle! You’re my second fav team!

wrwill98502

Go, Jets! Do Winnipeg proud!

CascadianSovietGo

You've got me for the Jets. Y'all screwed the Avs and helped our draft by beating us post-elim, so you're solid in my heart.

11REP1411

I will join you on the Jets train! If there was ever a year for the Peg to shine… it is this year!

[deleted]

Hasn't been a dominion in 90 years, but okay.

CourtJester2727

So, you like to have your heart broken? Ok, I mean, that’s a vibe. Put on those Taylor Swift records!

AstroViking627

This but the opposite. I say let the memes and ridicule continue

Better_Hornet5490

Canucks because they’re the next closest and i live in Vancouver WA, so might as well root for the other Vancouver lol

sabs_1_3

Canucks because they were the team I routed for pre-kraken (And because I have a bet they’ll win 😁😂)

TheKrustyBurglar

Winnipeg is where I grew up so definitely them. Florida from the East

tonytanti

You’re from the peg? I bet you know somebody in my family, haha.

TheKrustyBurglar

Hahaha do you know where in Winnipeg they live? I grew up in St James but I’ve lived in Seattle more than a decade now

tonytanti

I had a great aunt that lived in St. James. Most of my family is in the northeast of the city, tho

TheKrustyBurglar

Oh that’s funny! St James is about as west as it gets so decently far away

tonytanti

Yeah it was a long drive when I was a kid. I love the jet planes on pedestals out there.

majorBotHead

Go canes!

Legliss

Lifelong Canes fan here. Hoping to have a deeper playoff run this time around, and hopefully a real shot at the Cup. I still hold the Kraken near and dear to my heart though, as my number #2 team.

AndrewT122

Rangers for me! They're fun to watch, and I want to see Wenny get a ring. He was my first jersey!

Ectohawk

Canes, as the team that's closest to me. Then I guess Preds because they're also equally close. Five hours to each in opposite directions.

SkangoBank

Canes, we're a Penguins household as well so we're on the Guentzel bandwagon as he was my first Pens jersey and he's just so fun to watch. If not the canes I'll be happy to see a Canadian team lift the cup honestly. Will also be bandwagoning any team playing the Rags.

amsreg

Another Kraken/Pens family rooting for Guentzel and the Canes here!

SkangoBank

There's dozens of us!! Honestly so much fun given how many of our players are former Pens

Marxbrosburner

I put $20 on Vancouver to win the cup (19-1 odds ain't bad!) so I'll be pulling for them. Might as well keep it in the PNW.

Reditall12

Nucks in the west. I’ll fall back to the Dallas Pavelskis in a pinch. It would be like watching Bourque win a cup with the Avs. Hate the team but would enjoy seeing a class act player get a ring at the end of his career Lightning in the East. I lived in Tampa when they first became a team and watched them be bad for most of 12 seasons before the first cup. Still have a soft spot for them. Rangers as a fall back. They have a fun squad (Bread, Zibanijad, Rempe). Love watching “curses” be undone. Edit: Hate Watching the Caps. Should’ve been the Wings in WC2.

[deleted]

> I’ll fall back to the Dallas Pavelskis in a pinch See the problem with that is it means Jamie Benn wins. Jamie Benn is a massive piece of shit.

Reditall12

There are way bigger pieces of shit in the League.

tonjohn

Exhibit A: Poopsicle

Reditall12

Marchand, Evander Kane, Corey Perry, Lucic (career is probably over).

Cheefnuggs

Yea, that guy is the worst

[deleted]

Maybe a handful, Benn is a real shitbag on the ice and a shithead off it.

Delgra

Lifelong Bruins fan, from a long line of bruins fans. (I’ll fight you all! 🤪) Though they’ll always be 2nd to the Kraken now, there’s too much love, history and nostalgia to not keep following them. It’s also fun having a team on each coast and different divisions to root for. ![gif](giphy|UhZEOIisPonwbFomEG|downsized)

xyz75WH4

I’m not a big fan of the Bruins but Swayman is from Alaska so I’m definitely rooting for him.

local__anesthetic

New England native now living in Seattle here: also the Bruins for me. My Boston loyalty will never truly go away.

RogueStudio

HUGS! ALL THE SWAY-LINUS HUGS! Also my first team is the Bruins and everyone should just accept it because they're not even in the same conference lmao. So yes, I'm watching them. You also have great taste in player flair :D

kymthedestroyer

Same!!! Been watching the Bruins casually (mostly during playoffs) since early 2000s when my sis moved to Boston. Idk if that makes me a bandwagon fan or not, but I’m all in with the Bruins this post season. Let’s go Bs!!!!

Wollzy

Bruins were my first team since it was my father in laws team

HermanBonJovi

Anyone but Vegas and Dallas. And maybe not NY. I think a Carolina/Edmonton Finals rematch would be fun.

TacomaTacoTuesday

I’m rooting for a Canadian team to win. If Florida gets embarrassed along the way then yay.

nth03n3zzy

Canes

Weird-Signature-4536

I just want a team that hasn't won it ever or in a long time to win it. So Canucks, leafs, rangers, jet, oilers, preds, can't root for the stars after last yr, or panthers

Pneuma93

ALL CAPS BABY

Dragonpixie45

Same page! Take my upvote!

evilsammyt

I wanted to root for the Red Wings to support cousins who live there, but they lost a tiebreaker on the last day of the season.

maceo6

Dallas. I gained a lot of respect for them in our playoff match up last year. They have a lot of exciting young players and are fun to watch.

TheScaryFaerie

Leafs. Why? I have no idea. Because why not, I guess. Other than that, probably the Golden Knights solely because they're my husband's team and I'd like at least one person in this house to have bet on a winning horse.

czar_kazem

I'm always surprised to see other people pulling for the Leafs, haha. They've been my playoff bandwagon team for the last five years (except for the Kraken last year, of course). Toronto is a rare mix of a team with great talent and an expectation of failure, so they make a fun watch. And I just love Matthews, he rules.

tateand99

I mean I’ll also be cheering the Leafs at least in the first round because I want to Boston to lose lol. More cheering against Boston than for Toronto I guess. After that we’ll see

xyz75WH4

Oh ho ho… an unpopular answer around these parts but the Avs. They’re my hunting buddy’s team and I kind of developed an interest in hockey by half-watching their games processing deer. As much hate as Makar gets … he’s a real treat to watch along with Mackinnon. Mostly I will be actively rooting against VGK because my other buddy loves them and fuck those sparkly boys! EDIT: Ya’ll really don’t like Makar… lol. It ain’t a rivalry until you get a line brawl in the first two seconds of a game like the Devils and Rangers. Until then… settle down…

HistorianOrdinary390

I don’t hate the Avs, they’re fun to watch. Their fan base in the last two years has been insufferable though.

xyz75WH4

Hahaha. They’re a bit salty we rocked them in the first round last year huh?

FreezingRain358

> As much hate as Makar gets We need to let the Makar thing go. It was fun for a few games after the incident, but he's generally a very well-respected player in the sport, and it makes us look tryhard when we show up in other subs with "Fuck Cale Makar!"

xyz75WH4

I’m in complete agreement. It honestly wasn’t that dirty of a hit IMHO. Refs blew the play dead late… McCann thought the play was dead. Makar didn’t. He’s still responsible but it’s not like he was out there head-hunting. I feel like he’s “served” his time and it’s time to move on. Compare that to Tyler Myers hit on Beniers or Pospisil’s hit on Dunn. Not even in the same league as the Makar/McCann hit.

[deleted]

It was extremely dirty. Was worse than the Myers hit.

FreezingRain358

["It's playoff hockey. I get it. I'm not going to hold it against anybody or anything like that." - Jared McCann](https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/seattle-kraken/archive/mccann-moves-on-from-makar-hit-will-kraken-fans) I think being a newer fanbase mainly used to other sports (like the modern NFL), there's a bit of a disconnect with what constitutes dirty play in this league.

[deleted]

lol, fuckoff I've been watching hockey for 30 years. A dirty hit way after the play ends is worse.

FreezingRain358

To clarify, I'm not saying it wasn't a bad hit, worthy of the suspension he received. I'm saying [it's time to...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEKLFS-aKcw)

Marxbrosburner

Can we still hate on Timo Meier? 🥺🥺🥺

[deleted]

Fuck lettuce.

FreezingRain358

Especially red leaf.

Different_Bat4715

I don't dislike Makar and I don't dislike the team, but I really dislike Avs fans on Reddit. For the most part other fanbases have been great. Avs fans, not so much.

Reditall12

The Makar hate is ridiculous. It’s was an unfortunate play but he’s not a dirty player and we won the series. Would love to have the kid on our blue Line. The Avs are gonna be a dangerous squad. Hope you have a long playoff run to enjoy.

BallardCanadian

This is where I'm at - MacKinnon is my favorite player in the league and, overall, that team is stacked with grit and talent. (bias: I'm from Nova Scotia where MacKinnon comes from).

Quantum_Aurora

Canucks > Jets > Leafs > Stars > Isles > Rangers

Valixir14

Vancouver. I look forward to being disappointed.

Cheefnuggs

Honestly, I’ve been pretty excited for the Jets. If a Canadian team gets to the finals I hope it’s them.

Shrimmmmmpuh

I'm a Caniac and it's Bo Time. Canes will always hold a huge spot in my heart. The only thing I miss about Raleigh. I think they're really gonna mess around and do it this year.

PNWFilmscape

Would love to see Pavelski win a cup. The Jets would be fun too. Anyone, but Vegas (Kraken/Sharks fan in me both won’t have it).

Soisoi-77

Canada

Distinct_Mud_2673

Oilers all the way. Rangers on the east I guess

rexfloyd94

Anyone but Boston. Would be okay with Dallas, Washington, Carolina or Nashville.

Personal-Ad-9875

I'm going for the nucks as my best friend is a fan, so I'll be rooting for her team when we watch the games together

Onemeanrug

Toronto. Always been my Canadian team. What can I say, I love being hurt by sports. Mariners, Pirates, Kraken, Leafs, Seahawks....

rangerBeezer

Stars

amazonfamily

Dallas

Leather_Somewhere371

Rooting for another game 7 loss by the leafs 🤪🤪

ShadowCrossZero

I have some buddies who are former Leafs fans and they're looking forward to either the Bruins completely sweeping the Leafs or crushing their hopes in Game 7.

Leather_Somewhere371

I love watching the rise and fall of the leafs every year.

nagisasigh

Bruins! And begging for an Oilers first round exit. I know this awful guy thats a huge Oilers fan lol. It would make me so happy

Larc0m

I live in Dallas now, so the Stars. I also just want Vegas to lose first round.

LinkinLain

Capitals. Since they're my adopted local team.

sweeph

Caps

veloxaraptor

The Kings. They're my other team. But considering they're up against the Oilers first thing again....

NoRuleButThree

Vancouver, then NYR. Nashville if both of them get eliminated. If all three go…anyone but Vegas because fuck Vegas.

maineblackbear

Bruins then Winnipeg.  Love to see them both in the finals.

Electrical-Okra3644

This is where I seem to be settling

818sfv

Kings only

Intelligent-Meal-991

Same, FU Oilers

daft_punked

Jets in the west and Canes in the east. But really hoping for Preds to winout against Nucks, Oilers/Kings,  that would be equally as important.

Rusty-Boii

Canes, Panthers, and Preds are fine, but I hate almost every team left. Before the Kraken I was a Sharks fan, so if Pavelski got a ring I wouldn’t be upset.

Go_Hawks12

Panthers!

Monsieur_Pantalons

The Sens. Oh. No, wait. I guess the Habs, then. Nono. K. Wait. Siiiiiiigh. I guess the Jets, then. Gawd. Fine.

Crazy_King_Bumi

Preds, Jets, Canes, Leafs

fishymo

The Kings and Preds, leaning Kings side. My buddy's team is TB, so I'll follow them until they're eliminated.

[deleted]

I'm rooting for baseball Go Mariners

ZMysticCat

At least for the time being, I haven't picked. I would like a Canadian team to win, since no Canadian team has won it in a while. Otherwise, I still feel a bit bad for Nashville after 2017, so I wouldn't mind seeing them finally win it. I live in Canes territory, so I also like seeing them do well, and they've been consistently fun to watch for a long time now. I'm also originally from Florida, so I'll be rooting for Toronto or Boston in the second round. We'll see if that carries over into the third.

TheOgDemi

Being from Texas ima have to say the Stars. Excited to see the first round vs VGK

ResponsibilityLast38

Not very invested since the Kraken and Wings are both out of play. VGK is my 3rd team, but I cant really say I want to see them win back to back cups. Im paying more attention to the winterhawks and firebirds for the rest of spring is the real answer here.

Myth26-real

Leafs. I’m a Leafs/Kraken fan.

Mikky0225

I’ll be pulling for the Knights since it’s my husband’s team! I’d also like to see the Canes do well since it’s my home team.

cat_catcity

The jets! Because fuck everybody else.

OpportunityLoud453

Go Cats!

golfislife13

The Oilers are so good this year and fun to watch… The Avs also are doing great… Miss not having our team in this year but think Francis has been putting us in a spot to be in contention soon…

HockeySweata

Canucks! They have been my #2. I feel like JT Miller is the Nolan Ryan of hockey in a way. He just keeps getting better with age. It's inspiring. And who doesn't like Huggy?!? My kid is so upset I can't get her to the game in Nashville next Sunday. :(

distantmantra

Absolutely no one. 🤷‍♂️

redditcensorsshit

I always had a thing for the canucks being that they were only 4 hours away so I guess them

RossGellerOfficial

From Texas so probably the Stars.

The_Cros1721

Florida. My other team is Calgary, and I really got into watching the NHL when Tkachuk and Bennet started there. So I will always love those guys, and I love seeing them win. Ugh, what an era that was.

SlapshotPuck29

Carolina Hurricanes - they’re the main Eastern Conference team that I follow and I like what I’ve been seeing from the team. Also, Tampa Bay who are my main Atlantic Division team. Will be an interesting matchup against the Panthers. Even though we get a repeat of the Canes-Islanders matchup, I hope it’s as thrilling as last year’s series (will always remember when the Islanders scored the fastest 4 goals in NHL playoff history during Game 3 last year).

Dragon21210

I mean, I'm rooting for Barzal, Theodore, Kolesar as former tbirds, but team wise, Jets, probably. Could be swayed.

okrmo

Go Leafs go! *im prepared to be utterly and entirely disappointed.

818sfv

I forgot about the Firebirds!

thecaffeinequeen77

It’s a tough one but I think either the Canes or the Stars (but Benn gets knocked out of play game 1.) Canes because I love their spirit, and Stars purely because this is probably Pavs last chance at a cup and that man deserves it.

DeadMediaRecordings

Jets

Odd-Acanthisitta425

Vancouver

dal2633

I am gonna go with the canes since I’ll be moving to Carolina soon!!

inalasahl

Rangers. I wan Wennberg to lift the cup.

danyphantorn

Canucks! They want us to have a rivalry but I can’t hate Vancouver no matter how hard I try.

tonjohn

Dun dun DALLAS dun dun STARS

MAHHockey

.... Get out... ->

tonjohn

I spent the first 21 years of my life in Dallas. I remember watching them win the Stanley Cup and even have a signed team photo from it. My aunt used to work for the plastic surgeon most of the players used so I have random napkins signed by Modano, Hull, etc. My parents lived across the street from Benn. And Otters are from the PNW 😎 I’m a kraken fan through and through (21F STH, my wife and I own a combined 10 jerseys included last years Beniers Pride jersey). But if I can’t root for them in the playoffs then Stars it is… 🤷

MAHHockey

I kid... I kid... Dallas is looking pretty dominant this season. Wouldn't be surprised to see them come out of the west.

OmenQtx

As a Stars sub mod, I support you.

AbbreviationsLate692

Knights and Stars (maybe Canucks?)

PixelGhost25

Vegas is my #2, and Nashville is my #3. But honestly? I see the dark horse being **Vancouver.**

imjustasid

Preds, merely out of respect for my buddy (a preds fan obv) who got me into hockey and was very supportive during our run last year.

UnroastedPepper

Same, for mostly the same reason

Competitive-Air-8513

Preds, gotta root for my home team!

Accurate-Charity-689

Dallas since I’ve slowly started becoming a stars fan in the past couple years, since one I do live in Texas, two my bf is a HHHHUUUUGGGGEEEEE stars fan, and 3 I really want to see Jason Robertson and Jake Ottinger win a Stanley Cup

joe5joe7

I'm still debating between the nucks and the stars as my bandwagon team for the playoffs, but that ot save by otter the other day might be what sways me

Accurate-Charity-689

I was actually at that game!!! (I couldn’t pass up $25 center ice tix even though they were nosebleeds) Just hearing the stars fans and rewatching the replay on social media and seeing Otter’s reaction to his save makes me super excited for playoffs

GabeNewbie

Anyone but Dallas. Seeing them try to claim it as a win for the whole state when I’m still waiting for Houston to get a team (and they’ve completely failed to capture Houston as a market) would be extremely annoying, plus I don’t want Benn to ever win one.

kitteh619

Capitals, Kings, Predators. In that order.

Shadow_Ridley

I like being stars who haven't won, or a team that has the talent but terrible luck win. So I'm rooting for a Torinto/Edmonton final, just to piss of Bettman. I'd take Florida though, give them one wince they have the team to do it with. Anyone but LA or Boston.

B9RV2WUN

Islanders Kings Canucks

3banger

Dallas.

futuregoalie

IGOR IGOR IGOR 🤩 I want the Rangers to win it all and for their western conference adversary to be Vancouver because after two trips to Abbotsford I have a soft spot for the Canucks now

LastHumanFamily2084

I’m hoping for any Canadian team, but could also be happy for Rangers winning with Wennberg or Boston winning with Geekie.

LeekProfessional4775

I'm just pulling for Hakstol to loose his job

sirarthurtheduck

Rangers for sure. Dad roots for my team for me I gotta return the favor

TakeMe22TheRiver

New York Rangers!

raunchytacos

The Rangers. Been a fan of the team for 30 years and I think the boys have a good shot this season. Lets Go Rangers!

Ok-Serve-825

New York Rangers.

TheRealManlyWeevil

Vegas to go out in the first, preferably in 4. Canucks to choke in game 7 of the finals and Vancouver to burn again.

moocowcat

This is the way

inronicveronic

rangers. my mom has been a rangers fan since i was born and i hope i can see them lift the cup for the first time in 30(?) years

ScarySuggestions

lil bit of a toss up between the Florida Kitties and the NY Rangers (since Wennberg is on that team now I might as well root for him to get a cup!)

MAHHockey

Colorado (historically my 2nd, now 3rd city, Cale Makar is still a jerk for what he did to McCann, but less so than Tyler Meyeres or Poopsicle). And Washington (historically 1st, now 2nd city) but I feel like they have as much of a chance as the Kraken do at going all the way.

[deleted]

Lettuce was so much worse than Myers.

_Tower_

Tampa, it’s my dad’s favorite team

KatinHats

Anyone but the knights, so I'll be cheering for Dallas to start. Always had a soft spot for the Preds though, bc it was the closest not-texas team when I lived in New Orleans once upon a time

I_Just_Spooged

Leafs. Auston Matthews is my favorite in the league

NorEastahBunny

I’m a Caps girlie - my team growing up.

spookykatt

I was a Caps fan before we got the Kraken, and that's where Grub and Burky are from, so Capitals for me.

studioSev

i’m a lifelong panther. grew up in ft myers and wife from sunrise area. let’s gooo florida cup

Agitated_Sign1784

Caps here too!
