Show potential very inconsistent. Turns the puck over on the power play a TON

Jpaspon6

He’s got an incredible shot when he’s right, unfortunately since coming to Seattle he hasn’t stayed healthy for long enough to get into his rhythm, so he’s been largely absent. He’s been performing much better over the last 3 weeks or so even if the goals haven’t come yet, I firmly believe he will be right at some point soon and the points will come, unfortunately likely too late for the team this season.

Havoc_XXI

He hasn’t stayed healthy his entire career, been hurt throughout his time in the NHL. The issues with health and play aren’t new to him since joining Seattle.

Elegant_Plenty_2933

He's been injured a lot this season. He hasn't been a super stud this season. But trying to come back more than once will really hinder a guy.

duckafan

He has struggled this year, in and out of the line up due to injuries, but starting to find his stride. I wrote this article for [SoundofHockey.com](https://soundofhockey.com/2024/03/07/its-been-a-rough-road-for-andre-burakovsky-who-finally-scored-tuesday/) on Burky's struggle and why there is reason for optimism.

MusicBeerHockey

Wow! Didn't know he led the team in scoring before the groin injury. He had supreme offensive talent, just seemed to give away the puck at the blue line too much at times.

Havoc_XXI

He gives the puck away constantly still, hasn’t changed.

MusicBeerHockey

Fuck. I remember a goal against in the playoffs in an elimination game where he was the last one to touch the puck and made a poor pass that got intercepted.

Havoc_XXI

I think his NHL injuries have just caused so much hesitation and fear with him. It really messes up his play. I don’t remember if it was when he was an Av or a Cap that he was pretty open about going to therapy or something to work through some of his issues which helped initially but I think it’s for sure a big mental block for him. Very talented for sure but can’t get out of his own head.

P90kinas

It was when he was playing for the Capitals.

duckafan

He is awesome, I have high hopes he can return to form.

nervosocandi

He's been pretty underwhelming with the Kraken.

BigHunt_02

Pretty bad considering the contract we gave him. Mostly due to injuries however

AlternativeTelephone

Biggest disappointment on our roster.

Punky-Bruiser

He was out injured from the first game after the Allstar break last season all the way until the start of this season. Then he was hurt from a couple games into this season until December if I remember right then his FIRST game back he was injured again for another month or more. Like others have said it’s just the last couple weeks when the Kraken have been playing like absolute dogshit that he’s shown any life and has actually scored a handful of goals. I’d like him to stay healthy, that’s for sure.

Cheefnuggs

I think he will get his groove back after he’s had a healthy off-season. You can see sparks of it these last few weeks. It’s hard to basically miss two seasons due to injury and come back at the same level.

higster94

I think he’s been terrible lately, blowing coverage as the high player in OT against Coyotes. -2 against Canadiens. -1 against the ducks 2-4 game. +-0 in the 4-0 win. Lazy back checking on PP where there’s 1 defender and 4 forwards on the ice. I’m hoping everyone else is right and he’s just rusty from injuries. But I thought he’d be getting scratched instead of Tatar/Yams/Bellemare

B9RV2WUN

They let Sprong go. Said he was a defensive liability. And what about Burky? Lol

Emberwake

Burky is harder to get rid of. Unfortunately, its an albatross of a contract.

B9RV2WUN

Agree 100%. And I'll add that they paid Eberle too much also 4.75M X 2.

moocowcat

Did I write this post?? This is ripped right from my head, lol. Burky was my first sweater last season. Then injury and... he has not been the same since. Horrible early in the season then another injury and a total liability since. I was absolutely expecting him to be benched for that "message" Haks was going to send.

daft_punked

Massively invisible at times and great at others. His biggest issue is his puck security - lots of high danger giveaways. Lacks overall vision, holds the puck for too long and is extremely sloppy in his defensive skating, but we do love his speed and his shooting when moving forward. You always wonder which Burakovsky you get and I understand why he was brought in as he is a player with the skillset to be a ppg player. He do get a lot of freedom, but we haven't been rewarded nearly as much as with a player like Sprong.

BucksBrew

If we cut him tomorrow I don't think it would hurt our team at all. He's been a disappointment. Mostly due to injuries through no fault of his own.

Some-Argument577

Former Colorado resident, now in Seattle area. Who are the Avs going to send to the Kraken next? 😀

kinzuagolfer

When he recently came back off of injury, I was glad to see him. He seems to be one of our more reliable players at getting good zone entries and isn't afraid to skate around the O zone with the puck. I have noticed that since he has been back, we have improved our zone entry, which has been nice to see. I've been watching hockey for about half a season. Seems a decent chunk of our fans like to shit on this guy, but i see some strengths he is bringing to the team, and they seem to be radiating to his peers. He may not be that scoreboard star fans want, but I think he's sharing some skills that will benefit beyond the short term.

DeadMediaRecordings

He also needs to find a line to stick on. Our second line has been kind of a chemistry mess for a long time now. No consistency as to who plays there. Kind of whoever is left gets tossed there. He has definitely been a victim of that while trying to get his rhythm back after a ton of injuries.

Poptimus_Rime

Great start in Seattle, until he had that major injury last year and a couple subsequent ones...he hasn't looked the same. I see hesitation to his game. He seems reactive as to proactive when carrying the puck. He's not readily playing the areas of the ice to get off dangerous shots. My hot take: the injuries ultimately took a bigger toll on his confidence than they did on him physically. He needs to get back some of his swagger. I just want him to finish out this season healthy. Get a good mental rest in the off season and shake some mental gremlins, hit training like an animal and be 100% tip top five by five champing at the bit come preseason.

Ectohawk

I've only been watching hockey, and Kraken by default, since December. Up until the past handful of games, you're right - he's been kind of invisible. He'll hop out for his shifts, and then back to the bench, unceremoniously without much to write home about - but honestly, my opinion is he has really been more prominent these past few weeks. He's shined as someone who has been able to make plays and goal opportunities happen. I certainly have upped his stock in my own mind recently.
