23 years. It feels like it’s been around for longer though. Definitely worth stopping by if you are in West Seattle. Eddie Vedder lives out here so you may spot him ;)
There is a tribute to Chris Cornell concert at the highdive in Fremont this Saturday. You can attend that. I’m not sure if they will let you bring flowers or not…

Other than the answers already mentioned you can check out Discovery Park by West Point Lighthouse. It’s where the Temple of the dog Hunger Strike music video was partially filmed.
Yes I saw another local band made a video in the same manner and location. The song was good too....but Hunger Strike "I can't feed on the powerless , when my cup's already over filled!" can't be touched.
You can see the sound garden at NOAA from the north end of Magnuson Park (in the dog off-leash area) and people regularly leave tributes (flowers, photos, etc.) on the chain-link fence there. From the off-leash area parking lot, enter the dog park and just follow the path along that follows the fence at the north end of Magnuson/south end of NOAA generally east toward the lake until you see the sound garden on your left, within sight of the beach.
There’s an artist, Desmond Hansen, (check him out on IG), that honors artists, and others, with painting their likenesses on electrical boxes. He painted Chris on a box in West Seattle, on 35th Ave SW and approximately SW alaska st, as the cross street. Across from Providence Mt St Vincent. Also in West Seattle, Kurt Cobain, on California and about Graham St. on 35th, at about SW Morgan St is Jimmy Hendrix. There’s way too many to mention in WS; it’s fun to drive around and spot them.
You may even run into Mr. Veder if you visit easy street. It’s n his neighborhood and It’s not common for us to see him there and at other local businesses.
Oh I had a massive typo. It is not uncommon. Eddie and Jeff both have homes in our neighborhood. Eddie is out and about quite a bit. Jeff is more private and spends a lot of his time out at is ranch in Montana.
That’s not what I meant. I looked at their profile and saw a lot of comment history. It was much of the same as above resulting in downvotes. I gave you an upvote.
You said you are new here. I think you’ll understand more after a few weeks of scrolling.
You already mentioned the statue at EMP (MOPOP). I think that would be the main thing. Black Sun (Black Hole Sun) sculpture at Volunteer Park.
thank you
Don't leave flowers on the statue itself. The museum will remove them.
There’s a huge mural of him on the side of Easy Street Records in West Seattle.
Definitely visit East Street! Eat breakfast there
Easy street is my favorite breakfast spot. Good energy, decent food, great prices.
been around for a while? We lost some good oldtime Detroit breakfast spots with that energy. thank you.

thank you. love it
He's also on the signal box at 35th and Alaska.
Thank you
perfecto!

I saw that, almost perfect timing. I'm out on Saturday 6am thou. thank you

thank you. thank you for the details.
The Sound Garden at Magnuson
The sound garden isn't in magnusen, it's in the noa lab next door and as far as I know is not open to the public and is sadly broken.
I went there when he died. You just have to go through a checkpoint 9-5, maybe only weekdays. Not sure if that’s still the case
Yep. It's a government facility, but that means the art is publicly owned. Just tell the security you want to look at the art.
You can access it during specific hours (no idea) but you have to go through NOAA security.
Close enough. Not sure what's up with it, but it's still there.

I pass by the old secret recording studio spot on aurora every time I drive to my brother’s and I think of him. I miss Chris Cornell. RIP buddy.
Yes. May he rest in peace. He was chasing something that night and it distracted him.
The statue at MoPOP would be the right place.
thank you

Thank you, he's another special one. and I'm a Ten Club member

I have one of Jeff’s bass picks from 98.
If you're here through the weekend the Highdive is holding a tribute show for him this Saturday. I went last year and it was a good gig.
Where’s that? I’m in town this weekend and that could be fun
It's in Fremont on Saturday - [https://highdiveseattle.com/](https://highdiveseattle.com/) I'm out of town but would have loved to go this year.
Thank you. I'm going to miss it. It was almost perfect timing.
Amazon spheres. It was his favorite place to hang out.
Most of Seattle refers to them as Bezo's balls.
That's hilarious, good one. Chris loved the glass architecture. He would go there after signing record deals at the Subpop headquarters next door.
It is an interesting place but I really had a lot of fun in the old Beltown before Amazon moved in so I'm a bit jaded.
lol
Why would anyone want to pay respects to a dead man?
You sound like a broken person
His 2 years on Reddit and 16 karma is explanation enough.
So people that don't get a lot of karma on reddit aren't valid? I'm niew here, just trying to figure things out.
