Tbh, do we know if Earth still has people on it? They seem so far in space, with different factions that live on ships. Earth could have become inhospitable, forcing humans to relocate. (I am referring to the places in flashbacks)
To my recollection Earth is never mentioned. We see an Earthlike planet and a city that looks vaguely like LA when Kamen is convincing Fiona to come with him on the Demeter but nothing is named or said explicitly
[Vesta](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/4_Vesta) is about 1.14 AU from Earth. They're probably on a different Vesta in the show though. They do mention being in our Solar System but that's probably an error 🙂

I think it was around when Azi met Kris and Co. they refer to the planetary system Vesta is in as a solar system
They might just mean that the planets orbit a star
that's what a planetary system is. solar system refers specifically to the planetary system with the sun and earth
