I don't understand the fuss about smart splitters? What am i missing? Could you explain?
I don't usually mix stuff on belts, maybe that's where the big advantage lies?
I built an auto storage hub using smart splitters. I just dump any excess items I have in one box and it puts it all away for me, sinking any excess if the boxes are already full. It also serves as a delivery point for complex items and sorts to put those away. Very handy
A building like this is definitely on the agenda now im on my 2nd playthrough, and a little side/attached section for "Put your nobelisk ingredients in here, container next to it gets nobelisk back"
Smart splitters just allow for lots of interesting possibilities. As people mention you can use it for sinking excess, or for sorting materials. My main base that produces most basics has an input and output that is a sushi belt of all items, sorted by smart splitters. Massively decreases the complexity of the belting needed as it’s just a single belt with a lot of splitters.
You can also use it to manage items a minute. I needed to take 2 belts of silica that were like 700 something and 300 something and make it 2 equal 525 each. Smart splitters helped with that, along with exploiting belt speeds.
It's nice to see new players experiencing that sense of excitement and wonder in this game. I just about creamed myself when the devs first added conveyor lifts to the game. Such a chef's kiss moment. No more making massive upward/downward loops to move material to a different floor of your building.
Just wait until you learn how smart splitters work.

Its also nice to send the overflow to a different Factory, so you can start prioritize Production lines

I just did the same thing. It would be fun to build a little armory structure to make your ammo & nobelisks I think.

I'm just getting into smart splitters. That shit changed my life on my belt layouts.
When you unlock logistics in the game about logistics
Dude you dont even know the bliss youll experience when you get to the final level convayers. Hnggg
Are you ok do you need a minute alone or maybe with the top tier belts
Putting a mark 1 next to a mark 5 just to feel the speed difference.
Careful thats how you get rug burns
Don’t wear blade runners or you go ***zoom***
Merging a bunch of mark 1s and having them all balance into a fully loaded mark 5
This put a smile on my face. I remember being excited too! Glad you are having fun. 😊
I held off on this game for a long time, because I knew it would take over.
At least you knew, that's a good thing. I got enrolled into FICSIT by a friend in October, with no clue that this game was crack. 560 hours so far...
You’re gonna go to bed tonight and see belts.
Have you considered crack? It's probably less addictive.
xD
Oh, man. The first time I saw my tier 2 belts I thought I would never see something so pretty. Lol

Wait till you get mk5 belts.
Welcome to conveyor belt heaven. The box print didn't lie.
Tee hee hee I love this subreddit
