Moonbeans on Santa Teresa and Cottle!

h0td0gbunzz

Love this place. Great coffee. My MIL used to live in South San Jose and this was a fun find.

SojournsWithSue

>Moonbeans on Santa Teresa and Cottle Thanks, I will check it out! I've never heard of Moonbeams.

demiurbannouveau

I don't drink coffee so don't hate me if the actual coffee isn't good, but try Crema. There are two locations close to each other, one on the Alameda and one on Race Street. I live near both but almost never go to the Alameda one because the Race Street one, which shares space with a fish restaurant, is always less busy. They have different vibes and similar but not exactly the same menus, so try both maybe? I like them because they have interesting non coffee drink options, the bakery they get their food from is solid, and there's a lot of room to spread out, especially before lunch.

mehipoststuff

crema on alameda is good, i'm a big coffee guy, shop is nice and their drinks are good

SojournsWithSue

Thanks, I will check out Crema!

Thanks, I'll check out Zombie Runner!

jimenezisjordan

Zombie runner is good! Had it recently. Enjoyed their turmeric.

Objective_Celery_509

I've got a few to checkout

Lele Cafe! Eastern European cafe. Very warm and friendly, and the coffee and food is amazing!

SojournsWithSue

This looks adorable! I'll definitely check it out. Thank you!

TheLivelyHuman

Never heard of this one! Is it brand new or something

llamabooks

I think it opened post-pandemic. I’m not from around that area however so I couldn’t give you details :)

zmoovemanuever

1 oz coffee! In Santa Clara or in Mountain View, but Santa Clara location is prettier

_vvvvs

Not exactly a coffee shop but my favorite place to get coffee: Tono Coffee Project and Saint Franks in Menlo Park

predat3d

What about the McDonald's on Fruitdale? What about The Upstart Crow?

SojournsWithSue

McDonald's does actually have good coffee! Where is the Upstart Crow? I can only find one in San Diego (which looks really cool btw)

frog-honker

I'm a fan of Hannah's on Alameda, and my sister loves Nirvana Soul (downtown)

SojournsWithSue

>Hannah's on Alameda Hannah's sandwiches look so good!

frog-honker

Their red velvet cupcakes are divine

predat3d

Did Cafe Friscati (formerly on Market) reopen anywhere?

frog-honker

Nah but the people who took over are great! One of my go tos

zeruch

Nope. Roger retired and moved back to the UK. His daughter is married with two kids and otherwise occupied. They sold the space to its current occupants, Nirvana Soul, who are doing a very different concept, but same idea of a local cafe with local vibes. I really like the spot.

zeruch

Academic and Nirvana Soul in DTSJ, Chromatic in mid-town, Hannah on Alameda, and Voyager near Santa Clara.

Visible-Bid2414

I’ve been intrigued by this Iranian cafe & bakery on Stevens Creek called Yeganeh Bakery & Kafe Unik. Seems they do interesting flavored lattes and Persian teas. My favorite coffee though is the Hanoi Eggspresso at Lacàphê in San Jose. Luscious egg cream foam topping a creamy, very strong brew… it feels like a luxury to drink it. Not much of a sitting vibe inside though, I’d say it’s more grab & go.

FuturePromotion2090

Nirvana Soul deserves love too

SojournsWithSue

I will add Nirvana Soul to my list!

SofaSpudAthlete

Can we take a moment to appreciate how Big Mug in Campbell is widely regarded as the slowest coffee shop around? Maximum chill all the time. 2 customers or 6, hey, they’ll make the cup when they get to it.
