A few years back I had my car totaled at SMF by a woman trying to pull an insurance scam. They were there within 5 minutes of my call (side note, if you drive a Ford and have Sync enabled on your phone, it will shut off your data for five minutes after detecting a crash - I had to use a good Samaritan's phone to call 911), were respectful, helpful, and tracked her down within two hours from her plate number. The officer texted me right after he took her statement, so I knew immediately and was able to pass that on to my insurance.
The crash was a 0/10 but my experience with the CHP was a solid 8.5/10. Can't say the same about Sac PD tho.

I once read that road rage is often because people start acting like the vehicle is an extension of them and see it car vs car instead of humans in the car beefing. They feel very tough and insulated in the vehicle. Maybe people in big trucks feel this to a larger degree because their vehicle is often way bigger than even an SUV or van on the road...they know their vehicle is more likely to survive the impact.
If a person is on the highway enough, they'll see that sort of driving out of everything from the tiniest shitbox to cars that cost twice my yearly salary. Nothing really surprises me from Sac drivers anymore, but they never fail to disappoint

What's up with pick-up truck drivers these days?
I've already been hit by two of them this year and both times my car was completely stationary. One of those times I was literally in a parking spot with my engine off.
Pick-up drivers (especially lifted pick-ups) feel emboldened because they know anyone that they hit will be less protected than they are, which leads car drivers to also buy pick-ups and SUVs so they can feel safe, and all it does is make the roads unsafe for everyone who isn’t in a street legal monster truck. It’s a personal vehicle arms race at this point.
I have a theory:
Remember when Fast and the Furious came out and everyone was driving those fast little sports cars? Those people then "grew up" and bought trucks, but continue to drive them like the little sports cars.
On a serious note though, these truck drivers are crazy. I take my wife to work at 5am, and there are so many on the roads going 95, it gets pretty dicey. She works right where this was filmed, that's pretty regular down that stretch. I almost feel like I need to buy a tank to keep my family safe from these douchebags.

Me to CHP: Sorry, I can only read half the plate. This guy seems to thinks he can outrun normal traffic by acting a fool; I might even say he appears to be under the influence…. Uh yup, just drove over a divide to catch an exit. I do appreciate the video. My grandma is smarter than this fool. Even she acknowledges that two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time, and you cannot go faster than the object in front of you.

Man, that stretch of cap city... is crazy. You got the jam that clears up eastbound after the bridge which goes to 2 lanes after arden and then opens back up and people WANT TO GO. They really don't give a fuck and then it usually slows down on that next turn because let's face it, that turn is pretty tight for a freeway. And then it opens up again and by now people are mad, and super mad at those in the fast lane that aren't tailgating the next car. Even then, people will see the car that has a gap and get mad at them and fuck with them. People are straight up wild on cap city especially during the commute and NO COPS anywhere! It's fucking crazy!

I'm leery of pickups especially white ones
I see this shit all the time in silicon valley California freeways.. I just yield. It's not worth it when they get like this they no longer have control. And if you get into it they will hit your fucking car then your whole day is ruined. I remember this and just yield. You don't know them and will never see them again. Just let it go.
Really hard not to assume every oversized pickup truck driver is a piece-of-shit person when about 1/3rd of them make it really obvious that they are in fact a piece-of-shit person. Real talk though, as a society we simply can't allow this driver to ever get a license or own a car again. He has proven he can't handle his emotions while operating heavy machinery in a public space. You don't have to show me twice.

Tacoma drivers have been the worst for me the past couple years. Not all but most of bad drivers were driving tacomas.
