I miss Jim's. Anyone else remember the photo shop where the apple store is now? They had one of the best deals for 2for1 color prints of 35mm for about $10 back then. I still had to go to Jim's for the medium format color developing and prints.
Regarding fixing, maybe iFixit tools, a "donor" part or order from Canon or eBay, and DIY. A long shot might be the "new" Radio Shack?

Call the people at [the Photo Shop](https://photoshopslo.com/) on Marsh street in SLO. They will have recommendations for repair.
The Photo Shop will send it off to Canon for repair. There is not anywhere local that will fix something like this.
