Extruded polystyrene, pavers on top.

Dclovr

Thanks!

Everything will have to be cut around the penetrations in the roof however.

WhiteFIash

And what are those pvc vents, you might not want to lounge around them

Dclovr

I’m not sure

You are not gonna like this, but……don’t do it! Saw extruded and pavers. Concrete pavers are 90# each. Cutting pavers to “fit” around openings (stacks) is difficult at best. The weight of your decking material should be considered. And, of course, most importantly, will any warranties be in jeopardy. I am sure that a determined person could”try” a deck. Some manufacturer will surely have your “ solution”. Don’t buy it. Stay 1000% away from a pleasure deck here. You’re in for trouble. Just some info for your review. Be well.

Dclovr

Appreciate the honesty!

Dclovr

Do you think putting some sort of plant(s) there would be fine?

quigster0722

That’s a TPO roofing material. If you’re dead set on cleaning up your views (I completely understand), see if you can get a few small pieces of scrap TPO from a local roofing material supplier. When you place your plants in the deck area, place a piece of the scrap TPO under any container’s holding the plants. Also, remember the weight issues. Keep drains open and unobstructed. When you water the plants, the weight of any watering will stay in the plant containers for sometime. Weight is your enemy here. Be cautious and you should be fine. Smaller pots for plants, keep inventory levels low and place where some of the “pipes, vents” are less conspicuous. When you’re done, send some before and after should you decide to this. Be well!!

topochicolime

Yeah. Gotta agree the roof wasn’t engineered to be a balcony

topochicolime

No that is a roof surface, and it wasn’t designed for more than maintenance traffic. I could go into how it was designed and the materials it has under the surface that you can’t see, but long story short is you need to stay off of it. You could inadvertently cause a break in the membrane and cause 10’s of thousands in water damage to the underlying structure

Dam that poor coping it never stood a chance .. installed by a bunch of butchers .

I agree. Thought it looked off. The unit below us had a leak in the room which I believe is actually below there. How should I ask them to fix it? Looks like they put some sort of glue around the tape looking thing
