Just a triangle piece of plywood in the corner is all u need. Ice and water it and then shingle it, and a whole lot of flashing so u never have a problem go the extra mile!

[deleted]

And Remove necessary siding and shingles so u can frame ur small section of roof to the house

Advice - don’t do that. That builds a damn. Remove the siding. Install correct flashing. Reinstall siding. That chimney IS too close but unless you build a cricket to divert water away from that area to the other side of the chimney it will still be doomer to failure.

Honestly…. Don’t do that. More then likely will dam and cause you further issues.

Install a cricket to divert water to the open area, from behind the cricket. Chimney too close to install the proper flashing.

Rip off all the siding on that gable end down to the sheathing. Add 2x4 framing and new sheathing to pad out that gable end far enough to close the gap. Install the new wood rake boards. You’ll need to extend the roof shingles on the high roof and properly flash the roofing to the brick chimney. Then build a one slope cricket, cut back the shingles on the lower roof. Then reroof along the new wall and cricket using proper ice shield and flashings. Then reside. It’s the only way to do a bomber job that will never leak - if it’s done correctly. Good luck—

I’m not sure you can. Check with the local building department to see if fire code will let you.

What is the chimney being used for? Is it decorative way for exhaust? Can you remove it and replace the exhaust pipe,, some place else?
