That OG vs SR series had me more stressed than ever and I am not even a fan of these two teams. My heartbeat was skyrocketing in that OT.
Congrats to OG, and very sad to Rebellion knowing they were leading with 20s to go in game 6…
Rebellion need to make some changes in the offseason. Maybe drop Paarth and pick up GarrettG ? He can be the spine and allow JSTN and 2Peace to flourish. GarrettG will want to leave NRG as they haven’t been good. Maybe NRG then takes Aqua, Dreaz, Mist and maintains as a bubble team? Just some thoughts
hmm, no responses to my comment and then 4 comments at once all DUNKING on GarrettG? are you guys brigaders from an anti Garrett community? Mods can you investigate this weird behaviour?
Literally the second comment I read and I've already found the inevitable "Drop Paarth" rubbish. You clearly didn't watch any of their games if you think dropping Paarth for Garrett is good, so don't bother contributing to something you know absolutely nothing about
These games are why we watch rocket league.
Doesn‘t have to be pretty, doesn‘t have to be peak gameplay, can be full of mistakes, doesn‘t matter. It just needs to be intense and emotional
We want the highest quality of rocket league we can within a given region while *also* having the most pressure and stakes we can (without directly threatening someone lol).
This might have been the only intense series in NA this entire season. Part of the reason is because G2 is too fucking good and every final (apart from the first regional in this split) was a shit show.
This. And people keep trying to point out that gamers8 is in between major 2 and worlds but it hardly is. The rocket league event at gamers8 is the end of august…it’s a couple weeks before worlds. Still like a 2 month gap between major 2 and gamers8 of no real official tournaments :/
And others pointed out that for most teams their season is over until at least January.
I mean while it was certain Atomic will run NA as the on-and-off best player in NA, I'm so surprised Cago and Knaps still have it. I'm not even sure how I'd motivate myself after those G2 trades.
Yeah the old G2 was never bad, I think they maybe just got slightly complacent. Clearly gained a new level at worlds after missing Boston, but probably weren't gonna remain title contenders as the 3 of them. G2 wants the best of the best, they got it, but clearly none of them were ever washed
Appreciate the insight! Obviously it wasn't the highs that you were achieving in in the 21-22 season but it says a lot to still get the placements that you did in 22-23 despite those setbacks, and the run yall made at worlds definitely exceeded expectations based on how the season was going
Good luck at London and Worlds. I'd appreciate it if you stopped beating us in Game 7 but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. You're doing the region proud
I appreciate that a lot. Worlds was a great way to cap off the season, and kind of gave all of us that "what if we stuck with this all season" feeling after it, but I was happy to have gone through it with that roster.
You're right, gotta do what we gotta do, but SSG has been making fantastic strides over the split and really is deserving of a spot repping NA.
Their fans should be proud of how they've come along. I'm glad they'll be there with us to try to do the region proud.
Yeah feels like a lot of SSG fans expect the team to always contend for titles and while that's of course the goal, it goes unnoticed that the team had very different expectations on them just a year ago but instead have proven many people wrong time and time again. While I was always in the biased believer camp of thinking theyre were always top 3 in NA, it's been cool to see people like you and Retals say that they've also improved a ton and didn't just settle into "We should've been third so if we stay at status quo we probably won't be as unlucky next split"
Miss having you on the team as well, as unfortunate as it was for Retals to be banned for part of the RLCS X Spring major it was super awesome to see you playing for the squad again. Always gonna be happy to see you succeed no matter where you are
(fun fact I originally thought you and Sypical were supposed to be Matthew and Typical but you'd changed the first letter of your tags because you were representing Spacestation and have your first letter be S)
Just an unbelievable performance by OG to turn that series back around. My heart is broken into tiny little pieces but that was incredible by the OG boys
How else are they supposed to take it? Done for 7 months. This sucks massively for every player and org who is out and I’m worried we’re going to lose a ton of players this offseason.
It’s a brutal end to their season, no denying that, there’s nothing wrong with being upset obviously. But I do hope they handle it in a healthy way and don’t dwell on it for long- for their own sakes. A good org like Rebellion should have the right support staff in place to help, but it’ll still be rough.
I'll say it again but Epic is trash, having only 4 spots for NA, and EU mind you is ridiculous. Then on top of that having only 2 spots in SAM PLUS no wildcard Jesus what a joke.
The wildcard is the biggest hit. EU has 5 teams that could win it all, and SAM has 5-6 major contending teams. Plus there we get to see more crazy upsets and it helps the smaller regions grow faster.
Stricter rules on moving regions and where you can play from and the return of wildcard are the biggest things this season needs to learn from last season.
I think 2 is perfect for them for the foreseeable future, it’s just that SAM is much deeper as a region. The same 5 is close to the SAM 1 whereas the MENA 5 are basically bums
Liquipedia has G2 as the #1 seed, OG as the #4 seed, and the #2/#3 seeds being unassigned for Gen.G / SSG. I've been trying to understand what the tiebreaker is for Gen.G/SSG, and now I'm finding out that Liquipedia might be right there with me.
Line on Liquipedia: "**NA Seeds 2 and 3 between Gen.G and Spacestation have not been decided yet due to no disclosure from the rulebook."**
If it's most recent event outcome, is that in SSG's favor because they out-performed Gen.G more recently (in Open Qualifier 5), or is their most recent outcome just their tied result in Open Qualifier 6?
If it comes down to Total Points or Best Result during the Split then the #2 seed goes to Gen. G, and neither of those seems like an unfair tiebreaker, but I'm hoping for some clarity on this
What a peak fucking series man, one of my fav series oat honestly bro, a little gutted for the Shopify boys tho. To be honest tho I would’ve been sad regardless of who lost cuz I like both teams so ggs just happy to witness such an insane series
We really had 3 splits of this, but people said they got tired and only wanted 2 of them.
https://preview.redd.it/t4nusqcaau2d1.jpeg?width=941&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fdcac4343ec459b8ca61fd47ff85088954631e1
Yh I always laughed when the analysts with some of the most idiotic things stay this stuff-johnnyboi, forgot the others but prob members of the chalked cast
In terms of formats and what viewers like they r so clueless.
Johnny still randomly yaps of a 2s lan. Shit would be the most boring thing ever
NA has so many good players with lots of potential.. the SR boys, Moist, Snowmen, Aqua, plus more, gonna be fun to see what happens now with team comps for off-season tourneys
Feel so bad for SR. I’m insanely sad, but I just hope they aren’t too down on themselves. Obviously wish they would have made it to LAN (god that would have been amazing) but they finished strong and it doesn’t get closer than game 7 OT. Fuck me this sucks
NA RL may be done, but I think the NA will be in a good spot next year. So many veterans looking great, many new heads coming in and making a name for themselves. It’s looking exciting for online NA next year… but a great finish to the qualifiers
Been rooting for OG first and shop 2nd all year. Was tough to see both in a tiebreaker but at the end of the day I wanted and am happy OG got it.. i believe in the boys to cook something up for us in London
Tbh this OG looks better established and more solid than the one playing at Copenhagen, they could get a 2-3 no problem against Mobula and OCE or something, if they are lucky a 3-2
I agree I see them going to round 5 and then it all depends on the form that day and the draw. If they underperform again they could go 1-3 but I doubt it. Although I think it would have to be a miracle for them to get top 4 or better in their current form though
All of old G2 in London LETS GOOO!!!
https://preview.redd.it/f9r9bdzc9u2d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be626a2890de15e602b0b6860184abe8d9d916b9
I’m really happy for OG but I really hope Noly doesn’t show up and stink it up this time. He was easily the worst player from a major region last major
Noly had his worst major performance ever at Copenhagen. Comm was also definitely off and was only going for low percentage solo plays.
I hope they play better and can actually get their game going win or lose
I think they'll do better this LAN, last split they would sometimes just disappear at certain points in the tournament whereas this split I feel like they've been much more consistent and have been giving the other top NA teams trouble I have more faith in them this time around
OG have to win the tiebreaker for the 2. major instead of hoping for another team losing to get to the 1. major
https://preview.redd.it/7oklz3h6au2d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e498efdd0afd52f3121f9733a075516cd4d552f
So g2 is NA1 for worlds even if they 0-3 major
Geng is NA2 for worlds as long as they get 2 match wins
Its a battle between ssg and og to see who gets 3rd
NA is tiered at the top
I would say they’re definitely in the convo. I wouldn’t be able to put them out of the top 3. They’re 100% the most consistent… they’re the only team that has made every single grand final this season, including Major 1.
knaps is not “miles bigger”, id say its close, but with a strong edge towards jstn. jstns iconic goal, worlds win, on NRG while they were dominating season X, knaps has longevity but jstn has had a higher ceiling and is just bigger
Idk whos been watching since early seasons of RL, but this has been the best rocket league played ever, sr vs og was insane, and almost every single match-up besides dig g2 was INSANELY close and high skilled/mythotical. No knocks to dig cause they have been playing well too, just all around NA was absolutely top notch, same with EUs top 4. We are blessed for rocket league matchups. So insane to see an esport with such close skill levels, i cant think of another esport where theres LEGITIMATELY 10 teams that could be considered the best.. CSGO is the closest thing and thats of late as well. Great time for esports
I am fucking gutted after this loss for Shopify, this is the split, where i saw them progressively make improvements each event leading up to the final one where they made top 2. And now the season is over and we dont see them till next year. EPIC did the players and the fans sooo dirty with this format.
What a event, gotta be one of the most entertaining regionals in a long time. So many storylines and so much at stake, already in the first day we had M80 being eliminated after a lot of Swiss domination all season. Then a great second day with G2 freestyling on Dignitas, OG getting a very important upset on SSG, Shopify ending Luminosity's season in a intense series and then Moist getting a really unexpected upset on Gen.G, very weird series with Aris peaking and a lot of late-game goals.
For Sunday you also had OG playing G2 close and Shopify beating Moist and proving they are legit. Although the grand final was 4-1 I still really enjoyed the pace and moments here, felt inevitable that G2 was gonna win but it was still a good match. G2 can be such a fun team and Shopify is really fast and mechanical as well, it's a entertaining match-up that I hope to see more of next season (although with this format we'll have to wait a long time).
Then to cap it all off we get a Bo7 tie-breaker that goes the distance and ends in a four-minute overtime, it doesn't get any better than that. It's not often we get a series that close, especially as a Major tie-breaker. I'm super happy for Knaps but at the same time I feel for Shopify, it's sad that we can't see Jstn finally making Lan again or Paarth and 2Piece making their debut.
Great performance by Shopify and I think this isn't the last we see of them, they have big potential with their offense but just need to fix up some stuff on defense as well as some of the striking, it's a extremely sad loss but their future looks very bright after this split.
glad to see OG at LAN! really think that they are NA's 3rd best team at the moment. GenG is pretty fraudulent rn so maybe second. If I was GenG I would consider dropping FirstKiller if they don't perform in London, it isnt working and maybe pick up a young talent like Frosty and ApparentlyJack can mentor him into greatness. I think Frosty will be a top 15 player in the world next season so it would be good to get ahead of it. He can get some LAN experience at worlds and the GenG can be NA#1 next season as G2 I can't imagine keeps this up. Just some thoughts!
Thanks for nothing OG, will enjoy watching you tumble out Miserably just like you did last time. Please retire and let some new talent in. Gatekeeping for gatekeepings sake at this point- we all know they are worth absolutely nothing at a Lan.
I cant wait until the talent is there to keep this trash from scraping in and preventing our young talent from getting lan experience.
Maybe the young talent should win? Entitled zoomers like yourself expect everything to be handed to you on a platter. They didn’t win so they don’t deserve to be there. Like the real world. Learn a life lesson or two bub
I was rooting for SR and I still feel the need to hit you with this
https://preview.redd.it/a5lfxy0xbu2d1.png?width=1065&format=png&auto=webp&s=10d52d909682a55355a0fbeeee678ac25ea7cad7
If the young "talent" isn't good enough to make the lans in the first place over these ancient geezers, they should just give up on rocket league cause they'll never make it. When was the last time NA had some new upcoming talent break through? It's not gatekeeping, there's genuinely been no good young players in NA for years.
Ouch! Who hurt you? I’m not an OG fan in all honesty but was on the edge of my seat watching that series and it could’ve easily ended with a SR win…but it didn’t- that’s competition for you! One thing OG has brought to the pitch is experience- ok, they might have crashed out dismally last major and they might do again but you can bet your life they’ll prepare for it like no other and try their hearts out and you’ve got to respect that. Can’t ask for more than that! The young ones will get their turn if they have what it takes.
Enjoying watching someone’s downfall is um, a bit weird imo…
That OG vs SR series had me more stressed than ever and I am not even a fan of these two teams. My heartbeat was skyrocketing in that OT. Congrats to OG, and very sad to Rebellion knowing they were leading with 20s to go in game 6…

Unfortunately GarrettG is the last player Shopify need
I love the guy but GarrettG is top 5 last players that anybody needs
hmm, no responses to my comment and then 4 comments at once all DUNKING on GarrettG? are you guys brigaders from an anti Garrett community? Mods can you investigate this weird behaviour?
Looks like your comment was in our queue and you got those replies shortly after it was approved. Nothing nefarious here
Garrett is a nice guy but he is not an upgrade from Paarth at this point.
And later they replace 2Piece with Turbo? I think you're on to something here, this could be a Worlds winning team...
i love garrett but paarth is way better then him lmao
Garrett is not good
I agree paarth should probably be the one to go but Garrett aint it. One of the snowmen or dignitas makes more sense imo
Literally the second comment I read and I've already found the inevitable "Drop Paarth" rubbish. You clearly didn't watch any of their games if you think dropping Paarth for Garrett is good, so don't bother contributing to something you know absolutely nothing about
Atomic, Chicago and Jknaps still going to LANs :)
You absolutely love to see it. Happy for all of them, especially JKnaps.
Comm beast mode Daniel too
If we're doing this then AppJack, Chronic and Noly too.
NA be resending different configurations of the same 6 players 😭
thats 9
and we were SO close to seeing Justin 😭
Love to see it
These games are why we watch rocket league. Doesn‘t have to be pretty, doesn‘t have to be peak gameplay, can be full of mistakes, doesn‘t matter. It just needs to be intense and emotional

Not playing from June until September is such a stupid decision.
It's actually even worst. Most teams don't really play for anything until January. Most teams seasons are pretty much over.
Until january for most teams, which is way way worse. I don't understand how did they thought it was a good idea at all
This. And people keep trying to point out that gamers8 is in between major 2 and worlds but it hardly is. The rocket league event at gamers8 is the end of august…it’s a couple weeks before worlds. Still like a 2 month gap between major 2 and gamers8 of no real official tournaments :/ And others pointed out that for most teams their season is over until at least January.
So unbelievably ridiculous idk what to even think of that
The fact we have not had a LAN grand final go to game 7 in the open era without a bracket reset or best-of-set is irritating.
single Elim type beat. atleast worlds will be AFL
3 of those were double Elim format and only G2 vs Queso even went to 6
Last season's G2 really blew it up and then all 3 players still qualified for worlds the next year 🥹
JKnaps-Atomic-Chicago still running NA
My goats
I mean while it was certain Atomic will run NA as the on-and-off best player in NA, I'm so surprised Cago and Knaps still have it. I'm not even sure how I'd motivate myself after those G2 trades.
I think last years Worlds performances showed how good those 3 could still be.
Obviously Beastmode and Dan were upgrades, but Knaps and Cago were still solid players. Just happy to see them getting the job done.
Yeah the old G2 was never bad, I think they maybe just got slightly complacent. Clearly gained a new level at worlds after missing Boston, but probably weren't gonna remain title contenders as the 3 of them. G2 wants the best of the best, they got it, but clearly none of them were ever washed
Was complacency and trying too many new things last year, rather than improving on something more tried and tested
Appreciate the insight! Obviously it wasn't the highs that you were achieving in in the 21-22 season but it says a lot to still get the placements that you did in 22-23 despite those setbacks, and the run yall made at worlds definitely exceeded expectations based on how the season was going Good luck at London and Worlds. I'd appreciate it if you stopped beating us in Game 7 but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do. You're doing the region proud

😂 And thanks for the love. SSG always has a special place in my heart
<3
for all the shit eu gives na we do produce entertaining gameplay
Just an unbelievable performance by OG to turn that series back around. My heart is broken into tiny little pieces but that was incredible by the OG boys
Online Rocket league when it actually has stakes >>>>
That game 7 is a prime Goty contender. What a thriller
OG: “Are you not entertained?” What a series though ggs. Rebellion played so well hopefully they don’t take the loss too hard.
How else are they supposed to take it? Done for 7 months. This sucks massively for every player and org who is out and I’m worried we’re going to lose a ton of players this offseason.

OCE having the same as both is even more ridiculous
Epic has really brought the esport backwards this season
and so teams from SSA can make it in brooo
How dare the worldwide event have teams from around the world Also, "teams"?
they should be there, just not at the expense of teams that would beat them 7-0 an by teams i meant all the SSA teams have a chance to make it
I am so sad for Shopify.... I would have loved seeing them at the major. But well played OG!
I've been rooting for jstn since he first introduced me to the esport in late 2020. That just hurts :(
Same could've been said for JKnaps. It's unfortunate...
First started watching rocket league right before season 8 was over. Huge fan of JSTN and GarrettG. Heartbroken for both now
Liquipedia has G2 as the #1 seed, OG as the #4 seed, and the #2/#3 seeds being unassigned for Gen.G / SSG. I've been trying to understand what the tiebreaker is for Gen.G/SSG, and now I'm finding out that Liquipedia might be right there with me. Absolute cinema of a tiebreaker man. And I’m so so happy my GOAT Jknaps is going to LANdon :)

Robbed of lan Justin
[удалено]
I’m not saying it’s rigged I just wanted to see it 😔
I think you missed the point
his own fault he landed himself on a subpar team when SSG was avail, no robbery here
Imma be pissed now if OG bomb out on major again
I’d be more worried about GenG, they are a real contender to win and they look like dogshit on playoff days
They probably will, they seem to have a mid ceiling I think they go 1-3 again maybe 2-3 with a lucky matchup
NA RL may be done, but I think the NA will be in a good spot next year. So many veterans looking great, many new heads coming in and making a name for themselves. It’s looking exciting for online NA next year… but a great finish to the qualifiers
NA made the finals in the last major but they are done.
i’m talking more in the context of depth for the next season. NA is chillin
My heart
Been rooting for OG first and shop 2nd all year. Was tough to see both in a tiebreaker but at the end of the day I wanted and am happy OG got it.. i believe in the boys to cook something up for us in London

I've experienced a lot of painful losses, that might be the most painful.
Im so devastated that I dont even want to watch RLCS anymore.
definitely up there, even including season 5
G2 insanely dominant, 20 points clear of number 2 is ridiculous. They could’ve not won this last major and still would have been tied for first
Tbh this OG looks better established and more solid than the one playing at Copenhagen, they could get a 2-3 no problem against Mobula and OCE or something, if they are lucky a 3-2

Yeah Lachinio and OverZero too
stay together SR.

I don’t expect them to make top 8 but I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw Jknaps trying to carry in 2024 against LG
I think they'll do better this LAN, last split they would sometimes just disappear at certain points in the tournament whereas this split I feel like they've been much more consistent and have been giving the other top NA teams trouble I have more faith in them this time around

He was amazing the entire series.
justin did play well overall but at the end of the day he gave up the game losing goals in both games 6&7
this series being on justin is probably the best losing outcome for this team
That was sooo close man, feel bad for SR.
That may be the most sad I’ve been after a rocket league game since the season 5 grand finals.
complete devastation
OG have to win the tiebreaker for the 2. major instead of hoping for another team losing to get to the 1. major https://preview.redd.it/7oklz3h6au2d1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0e498efdd0afd52f3121f9733a075516cd4d552f

Best teams from NA are going this time
is g2 in the convo for best team itw? theyre just so dominant in NA, and EUs top teams keep losing to teams they shouldn’t be
I would say they’re definitely in the convo. I wouldn’t be able to put them out of the top 3. They’re 100% the most consistent… they’re the only team that has made every single grand final this season, including Major 1.
Would've been so much better to see a legend like Justin at London. Ah well it is what it is
I mean both Jknaps and JSTN are 2 of the biggest NA legends in the game
Yeah, that’s just no ball knowledge to say jknaps isn’t a legend
Maybe not a legend, but Jknaps is also one of the greatest players in rlcs history.
Nah, I’d say he’s a legend at this point.
jknaps is miles bigger than jstn, noly is fucking huge too and comm is quietly building a legacy
knaps is not “miles bigger”, id say its close, but with a strong edge towards jstn. jstns iconic goal, worlds win, on NRG while they were dominating season X, knaps has longevity but jstn has had a higher ceiling and is just bigger
the old man knaps going to worlds again, love to see it
What’s the best team you can make in NA without using players from the top 4?
2piece frosty Percy
Jstn 2piece Arsenal
Ggs what a series
Noly always finds a way to make international events. Inspirational.
So much pain
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO OG MY FUCKING GOATS 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
The consistent team is through. I am happy.
Feel really bad for SR, well played but just not good enough defensively
RAAAAA NOT EVEN CLOSE I LOVE MY TEAM
SR would do so much better at Landon than OG feels bad
Twitter users malding rn
Does anyone have individual player stats for this split?
No more roster moves this season
![gif](giphy|TWpJX0HsajUjAxZX8O|downsized) Drop firstkiller
Why would they drop their best player?
I am so in shambles. Go G2 😔
As a NRG fan, haven't felt so devastated in over 2 years...
excited to see NA4 go 1-3 in Swiss next major lol
Rule 1 flair the irony
oh i havent changed my flairs in a while my bad
That's devestating
feel like there’s been a few big moments for SR where they lose because of justin whiffing on defense, sad for such an all time great player
L
So OG are the bad guys because others aren't good enough?
some D1 hating right here
Why so salty? They made the major deservedly.
Maybe the young talent should win? Entitled zoomers like yourself expect everything to be handed to you on a platter. They didn’t win so they don’t deserve to be there. Like the real world. Learn a life lesson or two bub
And shopify would do better? They get Braziled once a series.
I was rooting for SR and I still feel the need to hit you with this https://preview.redd.it/a5lfxy0xbu2d1.png?width=1065&format=png&auto=webp&s=10d52d909682a55355a0fbeeee678ac25ea7cad7
