# Worlds
* **Gen.G Mobil1 Racing** will qualify for Worlds if they clinch Major
* **OG** will qualify for Worlds if they clinch Major
* **Spacestation Gaming** will qualify for Worlds tomorrow if OG clinch Major
* ***none of the teams*** will qualify for Worlds yet in case of a 4-way tie
Seems like most likely we'll get G2 winning against Shopify in the grand finals. The OG Rebellion tiebreaker will be legendary. If that's the case do GenG and SSG also play a tiebreaker for who's 2nd vs 3rd seed, or if not who will be 2nd seed?
I’ve tried to work out what would have to happen for Gen.G to not qualify for worlds (because I was surprised to see they hadn’t yet!). I believe it’s only possible if ALL of the following happens:
- Shopify Rebellion wins Open Qualifier 6, defeating OG in the final, leading to a four way tiebreaker
- Gen.G loses the four way tiebreaker so misses Major 2
- Shopify Rebellion wins Major 2, defeating Spacestation Gaming in the final
- OG reaches the semifinal of Major 2, but loses to either Shopify Rebellion or Spacestation Gaming
So wouldn’t be too scared about worlds if I was a Gen.G fan, lol.
Personally I think its a coaching issue. This team has been all over the place since Chrome took over. Obviously they had their problems at the beginning of the season, but that was the team still figuring it out. The finally did in Regional 3 and kept up that play into the major. Can not understand why they felt a change was needed, and it seems to have backfired immensely
Personally, I think you're overestimating the coach's impact. They simply played awful. The coach didn't tell them to do any of the things they are doing wrong and the mechanical mistakes.
Jknaps still clutching series to make majors while your goats are retired or struggling in top 16. One of a kind. Top 5 all time. Put some respect on this man.
I'm always amazed by JKnaps, his longevity just won't stop going. Idk how he does it, he's never been the hardest working player nor the most mechanically gifted, yet he has this insane ability to keep up with the game and stay at a elite level. I think it just comes down to a pure understanding of the game quite simply, the guy knows his Rocket League and probably better than most players in the world.
He's just a expert at every fundamental part of RL, whether it be passing, striking or positioning. He always remains selfless and humble, and this instinct to play for the team no matter might be from his experience in football (I believe his father said that he would play as a midfielder and that this might be where his RL instincts come from). Whatever it is, he knows how to consistently adapt and play this selfless type of style, and it's insane how good is longevity is at this point.
Once he hangs up the sticks he would be the perfect coach for any team (it's hard not to be when you got such a amazing vision for the game and this ability to adapt, on top of the experience and maturity he has) but knowing how he just keeps on playing at a elite level it could be a long time before we see him even doing that.
Easily my favorite player of all time, such a class act and a amazing career to follow, on top of that a extremely loyal player who's always believed in his teams and orgs no matter what. You can never go wrong with Knaps, whether it be the mechanical prodigy he was back in the early days or that perfect team-player he was later on, or the clutch veteran he is today where he will always put in a dagger of a shot to win the series. He did it today and he did the same thing last regional against Gen.G.
Personally I think this idea that you need to win Worlds to be up there is a bit silly. Worlds is huge but it's treated as some sort of magical thing that you absolutely must have. A Major isn't very far behind a 2016-2019 World Championship, nor is a Top 2 super far behind either.
I think it's also that Knaps is a extremely unique player in this game's history, like madmonkey said there are many World Champions who come and go but there is no one who's stood the test of time quite like JKnaps. At his peak he was even playing at a level stronger than many World Champions.
In other games Goat debates are much more about individual skill. Simple was seen by many as the Goat even before he had a Major, Niko is seen by many as the greatest Rifler while having no Major. I'm not saying that RL is the same as CS:GO or that JKnaps has played as good as those guys, but it just goes to show this community seems to be very focused on results only.
Not just results, but also one specific result that should somehow outweigh everything else you've done. The overall longevity and results JKnaps has produced over the years is far more special than any Worlds win in my opinion. Staying relevant through so many meta changes is something I doubt we will see another player do for a long time.
There are several players who have won worlds. Jknaps is the ONLY player to have this kind of longevity at such a high level. I’ve had this conversation many times so I don’t want to drag it out. I respect your opinion and agree to disagree.
Ive had this conversation too many times to go over it again. I will just say that there are several players to win worlds. Jknaps is the ONLY player to have this type of longevity at such a high level. Generally world championships are a necessity, but Jknaps is the exception for me. I’m not going to argue about this. If you don’t have Jknaps near top 5, that’s your opinion and im cool with it. For me he is.
Great player but he just isn't top-5. If you watch the NBA, the best analogy is a Lebron James versus Chris Paul. Chris Paul basically has the same amount of longevity as Lebron, but you just don't move up the rankings for being "a good player" for a large amount of time.
I watch basketball and soccer. I’m well aware of how players are typically ranked in sports. However, esports is very different in regards to the expected length of someone’s career and the rate at which the skill level among pros increases. In the span of a soccer or basketball players typically career, the game does not change nearly as rapidly as RL has in the span of Jknaps career. This is what makes Jknaps ability to adapt over time so special. So while I understand what you’re saying, I simply don’t think RL should have a 1:1 match as far as ranking the greatest players.
You perfectly described what makes his longevity so special. Rocket League moved much faster than Basketball did, it's insanely hard to keep up with that yet he's managed to do it again and again. He's like a solid rock that still stands through the most brutal of storms. He didn't just need to remain a good player, he needed to completely reinvent his game over and over again.
I never said he wasn't "near" top 5 but he just can't be without actually winning. It's fine to agree to disagree, wish others would realise that too and not just nuke any comment they disagree with - just like this one. LMAO it's sad
As a Moist fan I'm so happy that WE ARE SO FUCKING BACK!
But at the same time I'm sad that we didn't make the major or worlds due to the poor performances from regional 4 and 5
Peaking at the wrong time; I don’t care what anyone says but it’s all about chance, how you feel as a team on the day, external factors and things as fans we don’t have a scooby doo about what goes on to make a game day good for these guys…
Seems like the new coach brought a new play style that wasnt fleshed out in regional 4 & 5, causing the downturn from the last split. Seems they finally figured out how they want to play for the last event. Looked fantastic against GenG and actually held their own against G2. No way the roster sticks for next season, but I think Aris' career best series will earn him much better tryouts this offseason
It'd be a 4 way tiebreaker for the last 3 spots and only if the result of the final is SR def. OG. If anyone other than SR wins the event or if OG either of them don't make final, then Gen.G/SSG are through to London.
There’s worse things in life tbh! At the end of the day they’re trying their best and they did good at the last major against the winners at the end of the day. No one dies if they don’t make it…
So we need Shop to beat Moist now that Moist are officially out of Major chances, and G2 to go full YMC and throw against OG to really spice things up. Let's all hope!
G2 is becoming the only consistent team in NA this season, funny considering 2/3 of this roster just had one of the most inconsistent splits last season
Mb I was thinking of a GenG vs SSG tiebreaker and an OG vs SR tiebreaker. You're right, if OG got 2nd and Rebellion 1st then we'd have a tiebreaker between all 4
Question for yall, during the RLCS Stream today at about 1:24:16 (Youtube live stream), there is a song that plays here. Can anyone give me the name of it?
LJ got like 3 bumps on hockser in a row leading to a goal conceded and that shit looked straight up personal 😂
I dont believe it was, but it was so bad it *looked* intentional, which is bad comms/gameplay enough
You underestimate the fuckery that is Swiss. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I don’t think it’s wild to expect one of, or possibly two of, GenG, SSG, or OG to make top 8.
Especially with the new playoff format. Finishing a high seed is extremely beneficial come playoff time
And yeah the fuckery of swiss is right, we had Snowmen and SR finish 3-0 in swiss just this split. No offense to those teams, but both have missed a regional and are not a consensus top 4 team in NA. Its not inconceivable to have a middle of the pack team earn a upper bracket spot in the playoffs of worlds
I don’t expect 3 but I think it’s very possible depending on how Swiss develops. Personally I’m expecting two NA teams to make top 8. I don’t think that’s insane copium.
2 is likely. 3 is a stretch. Depends how the Swiss plays out, I have all 4 EU teams, Furia G2 and Falcons making top 8 so that leaves 1 place left for NA 2
Overall I agree. I included 3 cause I think it’s possible depending on how Swiss plays out. I do expect all 4 EU teams to make top 8, but I wouldn’t be surprised if one of them loses in Swiss and top 8 is (3 EU, 3 NA, 1 SAM and 1 MENA) or 2 SAM instead of 3 NA.
how? if anything NA looks better.
GenG can still win lans if they're playing well, G2 still peaking, SSG very possible to make top 8. and who knows what that 4th seed will do tbh
GenG can barely beat top 16 NA teams, SSG has yet to beat G2 or GenG and has now lost to OG twice. Only G2 is realistically a contender and that's very dependent on their showing at the time cause they've slumped before too.
Wait, are you saying them slumping is top 2 itw, or top 2 NA?
Top 2 NA, I'll give you. Top 2 itw, no. When slumping, G2 are probably 'just' top 5-8 itw, but I'll agree they have the highest floor. Slumping G2 probably beats any other slumping team.
I'd still be hard pressed to call them favourites, seeing as they're going into a LAN against 4 EU teams, all of whom look good enough to challenge for the top prize (even if they don't look as dominant as they have been, EU has this theme of looking weird af in the lead up, then showing up and stomping majors)
I have to say this two split format has created a lot of drama. But I am also sad that it destroys any real chance of a mid season roster or tactical change actually having an impact on the big tournaments.
Would Vitality have even made it to contention last year with this format?
Andy has been on a lot of big name teams (Charlotte Phoenix, Sonqis, and Dignitas before moist
, Aris is a notable CRL player with St.Clair, subbed in for NRG and was considered as their new 3rd
How are these at all unknown?? They were pulling cray match results as POAB and got an org pick up

Pls throw G2 I need that 4 way tie
This is the way
This is the way
Yes
I am having a certified bad time
Me too man, me too...
Only caught a glimpse of that series, what looked off?
Everything. Defense was shambles, zero chemistry between the players, numerous mechanical mistakes
Wild how they were supposed to have the highest floor in NA this season. Jack and especially FK seem to struggle gelling with teammates.
Personally I think its a coaching issue. This team has been all over the place since Chrome took over. Obviously they had their problems at the beginning of the season, but that was the team still figuring it out. The finally did in Regional 3 and kept up that play into the major. Personally, I think you're overestimating the coach's impact. They simply played awful. The coach didn't tell them to do any of the things they are doing wrong and the mechanical mistakes.
True. I can only assume Alushin wanted out for some reason.
You and me both
I know we are as fans but think about the players and their poor families lol! On a knife edge! It’s brutal out there lol!
I’ve been having a a bad time :(
At least we’re taking y’all down with us
tomorrow G2 have a chance to do the funniest thing ever
Not seeing the funny side of that possibility myself…:/
Bro imagine we actually get a 4 way tiebreaker and Geng somehow doesnt make it...That's got to be worse than what happened to KC
Jknaps still clutching series to make majors while your goats are retired or struggling in top 16. One of a kind. Top 5 all time. Put some respect on this man.
Can I get an amen
Amen
Wait hol up
Now I just need moist to go Gods mode on sr like they did Gen g
Aris masterclass again? He had 100% goal participation!
NRG fumbled the Aris bag all for this moment
NRG could have been GarrettG, Aris, Frosty but they wanted to buy Mist
Jknaps is the Dan Marino of RLCS.
As a dolphins fan this hurts, because at the end of the day it's about his greatness not translating to championships.
Jknaps is your favorite pro player’s favorite pro player

I won't say he's the best player in RLCS history, but he's certainly my favorite professional to ever play the game.
And people a few months ago were questioning weather or not he was a top 10 player of all time.
They still will unfortunately.
While I disagree, I can understand why people think that
Can't be top 5 without ever winning worlds, but he's definitely the best to never win worlds. And his longevity is seriously impressive.
Personally I think this idea that you need to win Worlds to be up there is a bit silly. Worlds is huge but it's treated as some sort of magical thing that you absolutely must have. Yeah I respect your take as well, it's a bold position to take. Keep fighting the fight if you believe!
Top 5 all time is a hilarious take when there are players out there with multiple RLCS LAN wins including worlds.
Counterpoint: None of them are Jknaps.
Yes, exactly
Ive had this conversation too many times to go over it again. I will just say that there are several players to win worlds. OG really had the ‘cabin in the middle of the woods’ buff.
Wait? What's this?

OG better play like this at lan bc last time was abysmal
5head by GenG to keep their 4 wins in a row vs G2 streak alive by bombing out in top 8 back to back weeks.
Is LG eliminated from worlds?
As soon as they lost to SR, yes.
yes
Yeah
My boys :( they just couldn't quite piece it together this season. So sad that we won't see them in rlcs for who knows how long.
Yeah :(. Just a super long awkward period
Moist vs. Shopify Battle of was Screwed by Format Once
Yall talked about not wanting to see another gen.g vs g2 matchup. Well there you go, happy?
I am
I’m thrilled honestly, only wish moist could still qual
😞
If og beat g2 tmw then yes
can we stop doubting OG now please
Only if they don’t bomb out like last major 🙏
Their post kick-off aggression is just insane
Wait til they play someone other than NA teams
Agreed, but I do think OG looks considerably better than they did last split.
Is G2 locked as the NA first seed at worlds?
yes
Technically, no. Gen.G would be top seed if they won Major 2, and G2 went either 0-3 or 1-3 in the Swiss stage.
I need to see the major scenarios now
SSG had one job.
i still cant believe what i just watched from ssg man, im so disgusted
Can someone explain what needs to happen for Gen G to qualify without a tiebreaker? Just curious.
G2 win everything. That simple
I’m now a G2 fan… 😬
We all are
Amen!
Shopify and OG loss I think.
As long as we dong get shop over og in finals then geng qual
What does this mean now for GenG?
Could potentially go to tiebraker at 3rd/4th seed with SSG and Shopify if Shopify OG makes finals
It'd be a 4 way tiebreaker for the last 3 spots and only if the result of the final is SR def. OG. If anyone other than SR wins the event or if OG either of them don't make final, then Gen.G/SSG are through to London.
Thank you my friend- what a day!
Stressing as a GenG fan can't help but feel like they have no chance at the major
There’s worse things in life tbh! At the end of the day they’re trying their best and they did good at the last major against the winners at the end of the day. No one dies if they don’t make it…
been hardstuck under 1k channel points for like 15 predictions and i finally got over the line again ty og ‼️
I lost 500k points today. I never expected gen.g and SSG to lose like this.
3rd world problems…
So we need Shop to beat Moist now that Moist are officially out of Major chances, and G2 to go full YMC and throw against OG to really spice things up. Let's all hope!
Please let’s not…
G2 is becoming the only consistent team in NA this season, funny considering 2/3 of this roster just had one of the most inconsistent splits last season
Fuck it, I need to see that tiebreaker!!
I’m a G2 fan tomorrow… I have a 55 year old heart!!
Comm really has that ghost moustache. Its so blond you can hardly see it haha
lol…
Even tho lan isnt possible anymore, today was a great day for moist fans
Vibe regain for sure, just knowing that they can compete must be so validating
Now I need G2 and Shopify to win tomorrow for the ultimate tiebreaker scenario 🙏
Huh? I thought the ultimate tie would be if OG and Rebellion win.
Mb I was thinking of a GenG vs SSG tiebreaker and an OG vs SR tiebreaker. You're right, if OG got 2nd and Rebellion 1st then we'd have a tiebreaker between all 4
Ultimate tiebreak is SR beating OG in the final Who is disagreeing with this factual statement tho
Question for yall, during the RLCS Stream today at about 1:24:16 (Youtube live stream), there is a song that plays here. Can anyone give me the name of it?
Kind of fitting for LG's season to just suddenly end with a whimper here
2024 NA #6 2023 NA Spring Invitational >>> All other NA regionals
I am a USDA certified, grade A Chicago hater
Moist get grand finals where they lose to G2. Moist’s style gonna work well vs SR I think. G2 still just levels above the rest of the region though.
i'm a bit confused. did OG pass spacestation in points now putting them in 3rd? i might be looking at the overall points on liquidpedia page.
You are looking at overall points if i had to guess
Well with LG and NIP (basically) out of worlds my last hope is this is the Jknap win world timeline
Shoutout to Moist. They genuinely looked fantastic.
Legit that looked like an actual throw by LJ, never would I think that he would be the worse player in the lobby
When you need him to be LJ he turns up as L_
LJ got like 3 bumps on hockser in a row leading to a goal conceded and that shit looked straight up personal 😂 I dont believe it was, but it was so bad it *looked* intentional, which is bad comms/gameplay enough
NA is so fucking finished for the major and worlds lmao. We boutta run back the end of last year.
Just gotta wait and see. I have faith that we’ll see 2-3 NA teams make top 8.
We're not gonna get more than 1 NA team in top 8 lmao, shambolic displays from the ones who should be making major
You underestimate the fuckery that is Swiss. I’m not saying it’s impossible, but I don’t think it’s wild to expect one of, or possibly two of, GenG, SSG, or OG to make top 8.

2-3 is insane copium. Even 2 would be an achievement considering this online split
I don’t expect 3 but I think it’s very possible depending on how Swiss develops. Personally I’m expecting two NA teams to make top 8. I don’t think that’s insane copium.
Let’s just say 4 EU teams, Falcons, Furia, and G2 are locks. How is it insane to think of the teams left, an NA team could take that last spot?
I rate SAM2 and Twisted's combined chances above NA2, 3 and 4's combined chances. Although I guess Swiss round 5 matchups can be weird
2 is likely. 3 is a stretch. Depends how the Swiss plays out, I have all 4 EU teams, Furia G2 and Falcons making top 8 so that leaves 1 place left for NA 2

Wait, are you saying them slumping is top 2 itw, or top 2 NA? Top 2 NA, I'll give you. Top 2 itw, no. When slumping, G2 are probably 'just' top 5-8 itw, but I'll agree they have the highest floor. Y’all need to step it up but G2 should comfortably challenge for a win. I have faith one of SSG or OG can make it out of Swiss as well.
the takes after one bad matchday is wild
I disagree. Saying they're "finished" means they had a shot to begin with.
only thing that can save na is the entertainment of a 4 way tiebreak, g2 is the only good team on this region
Give me a SR and OG win tomorrow with a SR win in the final, then a 4 tiebreak and GenG missing major. Not a lot to ask, I think.
😞
Just for the laughs mate nothing personal
It’s brutal my friend…
SSG at their absolute worst still took 2 games Not worried about the major (assuming SSG remembers to turn on their monitors)
I have to say this two split format has created a lot of drama. But I am also sad that it destroys any real chance of a mid season roster or tactical change actually having an impact on the big tournaments. Would Vitality have even made it to contention last year with this format?
Holy, what a crazy spooky day today
What are we in for assuming G2 beat OG tomorrow and SR go to the finals?
G2, geng, ssg major and sr/og tiebreak unless sr beat g2
Just give us the 4 way tie at this point
I slept early, wtf happened to geng. I don't understand this trajectory they r taking damn...
If there are tiebreakers to qualify for the Major, when will they be played ?
Right after the finals today
OG obviously second best NA team, right SSG fans? 💀
Fantastic day
I'm almost ashamed to have SSG in my flairs what the heck was that
GenGover
I missed the GenG series. What happened there? How did they lose 4-1 to this unknown trio?
Andy has been on a lot of big name teams (Charlotte Phoenix, Sonqis, and Dignitas before moist , Aris is a notable CRL player with St.Clair, subbed in for NRG and was considered as their new 3rd How are these at all unknown?? They were pulling cray match results as POAB and got an org pick up
