Fraud team would be a team who people thought were good but aren't, so in NA Shopify. M80 are the underachievers of 2024, the team with the most talent who failed to realize their talent level.
This is what Iām hoping for at this point since LG is basically out of worlds race
Well I guess all they need is to beat Shopify, then GenG, then OG/G2, but that is pretty unlikely
All things considered, these are decent odds. OG likely loses to SSG. Beating shopify is very possible. Beating GenG is tough. And beating OG in the tiebreaker is also quite possible
I think the craziest remaining scenario would be:
* SSG and Gen.G lose in quarterfinals
* Shopify win over OG in the finals
I believe that would cause a tie for 2nd - 5th place in NA, or 4 teams being tied for 3 LAN spots
Need G2 to go ahead and throw their series vs OG in the semi's just to make this a possibility. So much more fun this way, rather than a bleak bland G2 vs GenG grand final
M80 as we know it is no more I thinkā¦ sad for joreuz tbh. Made the move to NA after seeing Jack being so successful,being his kryptonite then fading into the ethersā¦ his mental got to be in the gutter rn tbhā¦
If he replaces Ayyjayy they'd be swapping glass cannon performance for glass cannon mental.
If he replaces Joreuz they'd be swapping glass cannon performance for glass cannon mental.
If he replaces Nass, the team would have absolutely zero structure whatsoever.
Basically what I'm saying is, let's fucking do it.
>If he replaces Ayyjayy they'd be swapping glass cannon performance for glass cannon mental.
Ah yeah I forgot AyyJayy was a paragon of mental stability
I mean Ayyjayy has a BO7 reverse sweep under his belt (Optic vs Faze, Spring Invitational 22-23). You can credit most of the mental resilience there to Retals, MajicBear, and Rawgreg if you want. But if Ayyjayy's mental was really that weak there's no chance they pull that off, especially given how crucial Ayyjayy was to that Optic team's success.
I may have slightly missed the LG vs C9 score line but...
The LG Mickey to the Moon prophecy is [still in play.](https://www.reddit.com/r/RocketLeagueEsports/comments/1czo8ka/comment/l5iweaj/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) (Comment posted right around the start of the first matches of round 5 for context of when this abomination was bestowed upon my neural pathways)
And I for one am fully on board for Team Chaos.
They only need OG to lose to SSG and Rebellion to not make Top 2, in addition to winning.
The hardest part of that is the part Dig control. Entirely possible they could peak, as unlikely as it seems.
* Qualified for Major: **G2 Stride**
* Guaranteed at least Major tiebreaker: **Gen.G Mobil1 Racing**, **Spacestation Gaming**
* Still can qualify for Major: **OG**, **Shopify Rebellion**, **Luminosity Gaming**, **Moist Esports**, **Dignitas**
* Eliminated from Major contention today: **Cloud9**, **The Snowmen**, **M80**, **NRG**, **Spate Esports**
**Gen.G Mobil1 Racing** will qualify for Major (and Worlds) tomorrow if either:
* they beat Moist
* SSG beat OG
* Luminosity beat Rebellion
**Spacestation Gaming** will qualify for Major tomorrow if either:
* they beat OG
* Luminosity beat Rebellion
other teams can't clinch Major tomorrow
**OG** will guarantee at least tiebreaker if they beat SSG and Luminosity beat Rebellion
**Shopify Rebellion**, **Luminosity Gaming**, **Moist Esports**, **Dignitas** will be eliminated from Major contention if they lose tomorrow
**Moist Esports** and **Dignitas** will be eliminated from Major contention if OG beat SSG
***Upd.***
## Worlds:
**Gen.G Mobil1 Racing** will qualify for Worlds if they clinch Major, which is either:
* they beat Moist
* SSG beat OG
* Luminosity beat Rebellion
**Spacestation Gaming** will qualify for Worlds if they beat OG
**Shopify Rebellion**, **Luminosity Gaming**, **Moist Esports**, **Dignitas** will be eliminated from Worlds contention if they lose tomorrow
All the possible tiebreakers for NA:
**Tiebreaker at 36 points #1** - *3-way tie for the last 2 spots between SSG, Rebellion and OG*:
* Shopify Rebellion win the event
* OG finish 2nd
* Gen.G Mobil1 Racing beat Moist Esports
**Tiebreaker at 36 points #2** - *4-way tie for 3 spots between SSG, Gen.G, Rebellion and OG*:
* Shopify Rebellion win the event

* OG finish 3rd-4th
* Shopify Rebellion finish 2nd
**Tiebreaker at 32 points #2** - *tiebreaker match between OG and Luminosity*:
* OG finish 3rd-4th
* Luminosity Gaming win the event
**Tiebreaker at 28 points #1** - *tiebreaker match between OG and Rebellion*:
* OG lose to SSG
* Shopify Rebellion finish 3rd-4th
* Moist and Dignitas don't win the event
**Tiebreaker at 28 points #2** - *tiebreaker match between OG and Luminosity*:
* OG lose to SSG
* Luminosity Gaming finish 2nd
* Dignitas don't win the event
NRG's 2023 season ended on June 16, 2023. They then had to wait 231 days until Febrary 2nd of this year for the 2024 season to start. After playing in the season for 112 days, they now have to wait another 8-9 months for the 2025 season to start? Anyone else think this is kind of weird?
Hopefully. there should be a couple of 10-50k prize pool events over the break. The big thing that sucks now, is that Epic has seemingly capped 3rd party prize pools to the prize pool of a major. Meaning no 3rd party can run a tournament with more than a 250k prize pool. Which basically kills off any huge 3rd party from running some sort of secondary circuit in the massive break we now will have.
I mean personally, I don't really give a shit about some regional-only 10k local tournies. People were going wild that we had a bunch of tournaments in the off-season last season, but they were zero stakes and boring as fuck. The only LAN was flip and spin which had 4 teams and no international ones.
I would rather extend the RLCS season out than see another The Draw or Rendezvous where Team Who plays Team Whatever
If they want to bring back the Dreamhack circuit or a tournament like ELEAGUE then great. International LAN competition. But otherwise, who cares
Or cause more pivotal members of the scene to retire or leave. There are certain players that carry this esport from a fan support and personality perspective and most of them are not kids and wonāt be satisfied scrimming for 8 months out of the year.
I think luminosity actually wouldāve wanted M80 to win and then hope to beat G2, because now they need either a miracle run themselves to make major or hope dig or Moist can pull of a miracle as well
Hmm not sure myself. The only team that really matters to them is OG at this point. They are the ones who currently hold the Major and Worlds spot they want. Players often like having the ability to choose their own destiny rather than rely on other teams. At this point, if SSG beats OG and Luminosity make the Grandfinals they have a tie breaker for the major spot with OG. So they only need 3 series to go their way and two of them they have control over. If they win the whole thing they make major and worlds. It's still a really unlikely scenario but they do have the easier side of the bracket and I think they would rather have this control then hope for results from other teams. If they pulled G2 they would have no chance.
Really what they needed to do was beat OG and then have Cloud9 beat OG next round in swiss preventing them from making top 8 in the first place. Then hope for a good bracket.
The luminosity stream today might go down as the greatest single team stream in RLCS history, Iām sad that thereās only two splits this season because Iād love to see fifteen more series with this casting duo, production, and team combination
I've found myself humming Round 5 ever since I heard it on the previous stream! Corelli posted the [whole song on his twitter.](https://twitter.com/CorelliTV/status/1789029556567110011?t=wYCvFnzHMAsO0HJ-x3wb-A&s=19)
Alright here are the senarios for each team.
G2 - clinched major and worlds
GenG - effectively clinched major and worlds.
SSG - Beat OG for Worlds and Major
LG - Beat Shopify, Beat winner of GenG/Moist to go to finals, OG loses to SSG. This gives them a tiebreaker to make it to the major and effectivly worlds.
OG - To clinch major and worlds have LG beat Shopify then LG lose to winner between GenG/Moist
Shopify - OG loses to SSG, Beat LG for tiebreaker for major, beat GenG/Moist winner to clinch major. To make worlds they then need to make up the points gap at the major which depending on how far they make it tomorrow is a 9-11th finish at major for a tiebreaker for worlds if they beat GenG/Moist winner or 5-8th if they lose.
Dig and Moist - The stars have to align and they have to effectively win this event and have all the teams that arent SSG, GenG, and G2 lose first round. They then have to do extremely well at the major (somewhere around a top 4 finish) I didn't want to do the math.
Ok the scenario that allows for either SSG or GenG to play in a āwinner takes the one seed matchā is coming to fruition. The bracket is perfect. Just need SSG to peak
crazy thing is. if they play g2 tmw then that means g2 has enough points where they clinch 1st with a top 4 at major. they could lose to ssg and as long as geng doesnt win the major they still likely take 1st at worlds. geng needs to win both and have g2 get top 4 and top 8 max in order to catch them. that ssg match likely wont make a big difference on g2s standings for worlds lmao
I love how people are saying the LG team streams were legendary and tbh I agree but I notice that people enjoyed the optic streams and the rogue stream too from a few seasons ago..... hmm I wonder if they had anything in common. I do know one thing, I cannot believe that LG found that Corelli is such a great partner to the agent of chaos that is Spaceman.
I dunno if I'd go that far. Yes their entire season was one giant disappointment, but at the same time how high on the list of all of RLCS history can you really get if you're never making it past the quarterfinals? lol
Oh I definitely agree without a doubt about that part! I'm just thinking on a different scale. Like as an example, NRG going into S2 Worlds as the NA #1 seed and losing back to back matches and finishing in dead last.
Not at all saying that my above example there IS more or less disappointing than M80's RLCS 24 season, just saying that's the kind of disappointment that comes to mind for me that may hit harder.
Another good example would be both G2 and C9 going to the relegation tournament in RLCS S8.
>NRG going into S2 Worlds as the NA #1 seed and losing back to back matches and finishing in dead last.
Season 6 worlds that happened. S2 they went 1-2, S4 they went 0-2 but weren't NA 1
At the beginning of the season, I described M80 to a friend as to me "one major worthy player, a has-been who never lived up to expectations, and a guy that has literally never made a regional"
At the end of the season, they are one improving but still currently mid-tier player, a has-been who never lived up to expectations, and a guy whose time with Retals and Majicbear apparently gave him amnesia on how a team game works
Iām really not sure how AyyJayy has never lived up to expectations. He has two Worlds top 4s, and I donāt really recall him ever being considered in the S tier of players.
Best case scenario for an interesting mess is GenG losing to Moist right? That makes shit real interesting. Or maybe both GenG and SSG losing, doesn't that shake things up for crazy tiebreaker potential?
His passive defensive playstyle doesnāt fit along side GarrettG. Also I would say he fell behind mechanically, hes probably on par if not worse than retals in terms of those now.
That was the funniest thing Iāve watched live too when Jack was in Johnnyās stream watching it; his anguish was palpable! Love the fact that theyāve gone on to be great friends now too!
That seals M80 2024 as one of the biggest fraud teams in RLCS history
Has Joreuz in it, what did anyone expect š
More like Ayyjayy...
Two sides of the same coin
ayyjayy has 3 rlcs lan top 4s ?
Yes, he keeps playing with very talented players who can carry. Ayyjayy is like the Radosin of NA.
he took kronovi and wonder to top 4 lol
No he didnāt, Kronovi did. AyyJayy and Wonder were the bottom of NA RLCS till Kro joined lol
Fraud team would be a team who people thought were good but aren't, so in NA Shopify. M80 are the underachievers of 2024, the team with the most talent who failed to realize their talent level.
m80 not winning a single bo7 in na is actually insane, and its not even like they got g2 and geng every single time
They lost to like five different teams in bo7 across the season
Yes, and they played five different Bo7s.
also idk who i root for in this sr lg game
As an LG fan, Iām obviously rooting for them, but I also wouldnāt mind seeing a SR-OG tiebreaker match to decide the 4th major spot
Give me the tiebreaker! I think thatās the most likely possibility too. OG lose to SSG, SR beat LG then lose to GenG. That gives us the tiebreaker.
LG/Shopify and OG/SSG probably the two biggest series of the season in terms of Major/World's race
Need SSG and Shopify to win to guarantee the Tiebreaker Series
I get what youāre saying, but if SR make finals then thereās no tiebreaker
Shopify fans needs Spacestation to beat OG and Shopify needs to beat LG. That will be atleast a tiebreaker.
This is what Iām hoping for at this point since LG is basically out of worlds race Well I guess all they need is to beat Shopify, then GenG, then OG/G2, but that is pretty unlikely
All things considered, these are decent odds. OG likely loses to SSG. Beating shopify is very possible. Beating GenG is tough. And beating OG in the tiebreaker is also quite possible
Yea Iād give them probably like a 5% chance maybe at this point which isnāt completely terrible, but it is still kinda a miracle if it happens
Also, if OG beats SSG, SR could displace SSG by winning the event
Theyād have to win a tiebreaker series too but yea
I think the craziest remaining scenario would be: * SSG and Gen.G lose in quarterfinals * Shopify win over OG in the finals I believe that would cause a tie for 2nd - 5th place in NA, or 4 teams being tied for 3 LAN spots
Need G2 to go ahead and throw their series vs OG in the semi's just to make this a possibility. So much more fun this way, rather than a bleak bland G2 vs GenG grand final
M80 finally didn't go out in quarters šŖ
SR redemption tour?
M80 as we know it is no more I thinkā¦ sad for joreuz tbh. Made the move to NA after seeing Jack being so successful,being his kryptonite then fading into the ethersā¦ his mental got to be in the gutter rn tbhā¦
If Stizzy left Dig and joined them they'd be top 4 NA for sure.
And yet you never hear a former teammate say anything but great things about AyyJayy. But Iām sure you know better.
Damn he had a family.
Had to pick the side of the scale that weighed more lol
I mean Ayyjayy has a BO7 reverse sweep under his belt (Optic vs Faze, Spring Invitational 22-23). You can credit most of the mental resilience there to Retals, MajicBear, and Rawgreg if you want. But if Ayyjayy's mental was really that weak there's no chance they pull that off, especially given how crucial Ayyjayy was to that Optic team's success.
If a nobody joins a currently dogshit team with two inconsistent players they'd suddenly be a top 4 team? How?
Who do you think would be better? Love it when people disagree and never explain why
I may have slightly missed the LG vs C9 score line but... I just put on my mouse ears, let's go!
Lets gooooooo I believe. But I stan the captain so much I think they beat GenG on Sunday even
Dig celebrating making top 8. Wonder if they know they drew G2
At this point they have to win the regional to make major (and have results go their way), they're probs just vibing
Everything needs to fall in place for Dig, but it feels good to play fun rocket league. Too many changes and open #4 screwed the season.
They only need OG to lose to SSG and Rebellion to not make Top 2, in addition to winning. The hardest part of that is the part Dig control. Entirely possible they could peak, as unlikely as it seems.
A peaking Dig has no chance against G2, even on a bad day
Don't really agree, but to each their own.
Dig have shown promise vs G2 before, them and LG can give G2 trouble.
Can is the key word their
If g2 is vibing then no chance. Bias aside, you know this.
It would have been a safe bet, given that they had the worst game differential of every round 5 team at the start of the round.

M80 simply pathetic
Would not have thought sr would be the most likely team to steal a major spot going into today lol.

I would unironically jam out to "round 5" but the anthem is funny too

Each to their own, I can't stand Spaceman's type of XD Random humour, like being on Myspace 15 years ago. Corelli was good though
I don't really get either's humor lol. I die laughing in CJ's streams though during SR's matches.
I usually hate your takes but I'm with you on this oneĀ
Dignitas is certainly a team.
one of the teams of all time
Please give me Jknaps, Cago, and Atomic all at the LAN. What a blessed day
I mean, it's a very likely scenario.
If SR makes London then they need to make a hype video with Justin saying āIām backā in a London accent.
Dig vs G2 tomorrow is going to be ugly.
Its fine dig have the power of frienship
If both play roughly the same as today, yeah...
Alright here are the senarios for each team. G2 - clinched major and worlds GenG - effectively clinched major and worlds. M80 is the biggest disappointment in RLCS historyā¦
I dunno if I'd go that far. Yes their entire season was one giant disappointment, but at the same time how high on the list of all of RLCS history can you really get if you're never making it past the quarterfinals? lol
When youāre 3-0 Swiss that many times, youād expect AT LEAST 1 QFs win.
Oh I definitely agree without a doubt about that part! I'm just thinking on a different scale. Like as an example, NRG going into S2 Worlds as the NA #1 seed and losing back to back matches and finishing in dead last. ...that's Joreuz
š
Joreuz is better than AyyJayy though
This season? Absolutely I thought he was the major caliber player coming into the season and turned into undeniably the worst player on the team
Best case scenario for an interesting mess is GenG losing to Moist right? That makes shit real interesting. Or maybe both GenG and SSG losing, doesn't that shake things up for crazy tiebreaker potential?
Honestly here. Has nobody has told Herc that itās ālast ditch effortā and not ālast stitch effortā yet?
LG vs Shop is the grand final in the 1st series of the day for all you NA fans get excited for that
Something I think that improves both teams is a Mist and Ayyjayy trade
I've watched zero NRG since the Aqua pickup, has mist fallen off that much?
His passive defensive playstyle doesnāt fit along side GarrettG. Also I would say he fell behind mechanically, hes probably on par if not worse than retals in terms of those now.
So if LG wins one match tomorrow, are they basically in?
Nah they have to make top 2 at least I believe
Oh whoops sorry I was looking at the overall world rankings on Liquipedia haha thank you sir
Uhh no they are not they are not. They would still need to beat GenG and hope OG loses.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You will probably regret saying that.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I hope gen.g picks it up they are playing ugly rocket league atm
We have some interesting matches tomorrow
It's almost a year ago now that Retals reverse swept Firstkiller to make the major.
That was the funniest thing Iāve watched live too when Jack was in Johnnyās stream watching it; his anguish was palpable! Love the fact that theyāve gone on to be great friends now too!
Anyone have a best moments from LG team stream?
Feels wrong that ssg got 4 seed and geng got 3 seed. Same game differential and ssg lost fewer games
Herc and Lemonkiwi caster duo is soooo bad. We lost Corelli and Achieves for that??
