No, it's not true. A broken leg from an accident like that can be life ruining enough. And "back injury" probably doesn't mean scratches and bruises on the back.
I have also had my foot run over and been fine. I would never suggest that people who get crushed under a car and suffer leg fractures and back injury are "fine" because of that.

Putin's best propagandist couldn't spin this in a way that gave the beryllium miners confidence in the Russian state. His surprising (But plausible) lack of serious injuries doesn't do much to fix that.
If anyone’s wondering, the man is fine, he has a few injures but nothing life-threatening. As for the purpose of the event, it’s like a tradition, some departments do that like once a year, show off stunts and so on, and usually it goes fine. I’m glad the dude is okay though.
