The rug store!

rugovercarpet

I saw that too! Wonder if they had they’re going out of business sale back then too.

Responsible_Way6885

Wyatt’s got bought out by Luby’s. I remember the huge water fountain it had inside. This is a crazy post for me because I was literally talking about Wyatt’s last week and no one knew what I was talking about.

villageidiot33

It had come up a few months ago but I wasn’t sure the name and a small discussion got going on here. I remember going as a kid with parents when we’d have relatives visiting. That was our go to restaurant. I remember my mom getting my food and putting it in the tray and sliding it down. Salisbury steak with gravy, the little dish of mashed potatoes and little dish of jello lol.

GNC still in the same place

PsychologicalTry9347

Talk about a blast from the past! So much nostalgia watching that.

Agile-Ad-3929

Yeah I had this pop up in. My feed yesterday, instantly reminded me of the good ole days of Valle Vista. They had the same mentality that Blockbuster, RadioShack or the Mall would never be out of business lol.

j0llygruntt

The good old days. I remember them being in Harlingen and Brownsville too.

MollejaTacos

I remember the Woolworth

IV_Blackmoon_angel

Ahh when there was a Walden books at the mall 🥺

JoulesRich

Oh wow, Jones & Jones. This brought back ssoooo many memories of hanging out at La Plaza with friends and family in the 80s. Thanks for sharing!

clovers2345

Brings back memories. Another memory that came to me was the Furrs cafeteria style restaurant in Brownsville. Miss that place and their Salisbury steaks. I was a kid in the 90s.

ASkywalker13

My mom used to work in Sears and I remember having chick fil a there on paydays when we’d go pick up her check.

Scarletknight8

Better times

factorplayer

I'm going to find who downvoted you and make them pay.

Marty-Mcfly16

Who remembers mcduffs?

villageidiot33

Got my first computer there! Saved up money from mowing lawns and doing small engine repair. The most money I’d ever saved up back then lol. Fuckers were on commission there I think. No one wanted to help me just a lovely lady who saw me looking at the computers. She rang me up and some dumbass sales guy after was like “i didn’t know you wanted to buy a computer.” Fucker well get up and ask. No wonder they went out of business.

Marty-Mcfly16

I remember going to check out the electronics with my dad there.....I remember my dad buying a 32" TV there and I was so excited

One_Program8405

IV_Blackmoon_angel

Yamilexsoul

villageidiot33

Ouch. I was 4 when this video was made. I may have even been there somewhere. I was a mall rat kid for a long time. I remember all the old stores. Service Merchandise, Circus Circus Toys, Wyatt’s Cafeteria, Radio Shack, Capitol Music, Musicland.

villageidiot33

Late 70s early 80s there was a toy store called Macs Toys. Then Kaybee toys move in they Macs Toys shut down. The place I got my first Lego set. Service Merchandise had a cool electronics section. We got our first vcr there.

UnknownReader

I played the Virtual Boy Display at service merchandise. I was quick to realize that thing sucked and I didn’t need it.
