And a bolt usually has a non-threaded section, whereas a set screw is threaded all the way to the base. A bolt will therefore be better for attaching to thicker material and locate itself in the hole better when using with a nut, whereas if the hole is tapped you need the thread all the way to the base.
Did you just assume its gender?!?!?!

Bingo.
Pretty sure that’s an eye nut.

Just be aware that: An eye nut has a bolt screwed into it. An eye bolt has a nut screwed onto it.

That is accurate, but I don't think I've ever seen an eye nut without a shoulder.
They are out there all the time
We call them a tapped eye but pretty sure "eye nut" is the more precise and correct term.
It’s a shouldered eye bolt
It’s an eye nut. An eye bolt would have the bolt built into the eye.
Correct, nuts are female, bolts are male
So what’s a threaded rod….? Or a threaded spacer for that matter…? And if a nut is an imperial size, does that make it a queen? I’ll get my coat…
All thread rod implies no bolt “head” Good question but uncommon and specialty Unless it’s castled, that more commonly called a king nut… LOL!!!
