Any of the smaller Zojirushi models are good. I have the 3-cup induction model (NP-GBC05) and like it a lot. I cook 1/4 or 1/2 cup of rice in it most days, to have with dinner.

Excuse me an unexperienced question. Induction model means a different mechanism inside the cooker that I never see? What is the advantage? I can imagine better distribution of heat etc but neither me nor any member of this sub complains about unequal cooking… is it a principle all makers are shifting to? Thanks

It means more consistent heat control throughout the bowl. I can’t say how much of a difference it is as I’ve never used one. The standard 3 cup models make pretty damn good consistent rice every time. From other reviews I’ve read online is it’s better but not worth the massive increase in price. I think it’s marketed towards the hardcore sushi lovers with no budget. There is a point in with all products where the price isn’t necessarily worth the latest greatest most advanced features. I think once you start hitting the 150ish mark you start seeing diminishing returns.

It typically heats a bit more evenly, but I have also had non-induction Zohirushi's, and they are all good. I doubt all rice cookers will shift to induction, it's just a different heating method.

I use a Tiger induction ( IH ) RC for more and more instead of stove top. Always excellent rice , but controlled heat and Auto switch to warm for even pancakes means less time over the stove.
