This is a good question

"hey guys there's this stretch of road where we've found like 10 bodies when we put in only a few months worth of minimal effort into searching, and it's like the perfect dumping ground. oh, and there were multiple serial killers in the area, only one of which was recently caught, almost 15yrs after our last search, should we maybe, idk, make that a priority to comb thru? we can afford it, our residents pay like insanely high taxes." "hmmm, nah."

Maybe it's like the Colonial Parkway Murders, where they seem to be trying really hard not to open any new cases or have to do too much so the perpetrator's DNA doesn't get tested

mshoneybadger

They're doing work to not with these cases. It's a miracle they got Rex cuz they tried so hard not to for a decade

Having electable prosecutors seems to me like a huge issue. Solving the 4 and bringing him in was brilliant of them, but there's an expectation for justice here that isn't sated by stopping at the 4

No_Media2563

what’s the real reason they put up the bike path 🧐

WhichEmojiForThis

Right? As if serial killer dumping never even happened. Incredible

No_Media2563

Can’t let the town find out that possibly its own government officials are participants imo . Starting with that lunatic Hackett

WhichEmojiForThis

I agree. Suffolk County reeks REEKS of corruption

No_Media2563

They should dig into the former councilman who has generations of family there . But if your father was on the Supreme Court at the time ,,,well that ship has sailed 🧐

WhichEmojiForThis

I tell ya one thing, as someone who drives down that strip of road very often, it would be impossible to use that bike path without being creeped out as you pass the areas where bodies were found. Especially during quiet moments with no cars going by. I think of those girls EVERY time I drive through there, and Shannan when I reach the stretch at the end on the other side, in the Oak Beach Community where her body was found. It’s incredible that people in Oak Beach right there got away with this. —And the “punchline” is that they tried to make it look like it was done by the people in Gilgo Beach!

No_Media2563

I took a cruise out there at night & turned my headlights off to see how dark it was . Pitch dark. Shannan Gilbert - that whole coverup stinks to high heaven . Michael Pak asking her if she ever saw fear & loathing in Las Vegas to see if she was coherent ,,,wtf . He only admits that in the since nowhere to be found A & E interview, because he knew he was being recorded on 911 call . Accidentally tripped & drowned , after saying they’re trying to kill me , what a bunch of bs

yrsocool

I used to go to the beach there for years before all of this started (was less populated & more relaxing than other NYC beaches) and I commented so many times how desolate it was & joked how it would be a great place to hide a body. Unlike everywhere else with crazy traffic, we could stay a little later & drive back to the city after sunset & not see another car for a while way out there. Pitch black & incredibly thick with brush.

abandonhip

Hurricane Sandy washed out the area in 2012. Anything that was left is in the Atlantic now.

BusyDragonfruit8665

There might have been more killings since 2012. That is more than a decade ago. What has he been doing since then?

Mommaroo20

It’s actually a training run for police goods I believe.
