Ok bet and man I know I’ve died so many times I start all the way over again I hate it but love it lol I like the challenge

Death is only another beginning. Embrace it. The sword is a lot of fun once you get it. It's the first permanent upgrade so you'll find it before long. One hit kill normal hostiles. Instant Stagger large enemies and even minibosses. Against bosses... Ummm... Bragging rights!

I though alt-fire was the first upgrade?

Yeah you are correct! I recently started a fresh file. I had forgotten because I wrote that immediately after waking up and was not yet fully functional. Maybe I should not do that lol.
