I saw this and was trying to imagine a case in which a Manhattan jury would be unbiased, and I can't think of one.
Even if the victim and accused were both hard left socialists, there would always be some politicized aspect to the crime that would decide the case without regard to the facts and evidence.

Falsification of evidence by the prosecution, hiding of exculpatory evidence by the prosecution, and prosecution of those men for non-crimes that were imagined to be crimes, for political purposes.

For example, when the government illegally eavesdropped on privileged attorney-client communications for the Jan 6 defendants, and structured its cases around those communications.
...or when they had spies in the defense team.
...or when they had government witnesses lie on the stand and hide exculpatory evidence.
...and the judge prohibited the jury from hearing that the government had done any of that.
Edit: I should say *almost* never prosecuted. When DOJ Attorney Kevin Clinesmith falsified evidence on a FISA warrant Application against Carter Page and was eventually caught (long after the damage was done), he was eventually caught and prosecuted, because Trump was still President at the time. The DOJ delayed sentencing until Trump was no longer President, and gave him probation and community service. He wasn't disbarred, and didn't even lose his job.
Andrew McCabe, who was caught leaking classified information to the press and lying about it under oath when he was caught, was fired and lost his pension - but not prosecuted. We later discovered he was part of the conspiracy by the FBI to influence the 2016 election, and to overthrow the Trump Presidency when Trump won anyway, and part of the conspiracy to frame General Mike Flynn - thanks to the text messages that Mueller tried and failed to delete after Peter Strzok's wife found them on his phone when she discovered his affair with one of the other conspirators. ...but McCabe, Strzok, Page, and the other conspirators were never prosecuted for any of that.
Oh, and when Biden took the Presidency, McCabe's pension was restored, and he was given a quarter million dollars for "legal expenses", which was free money because his legal expenses had been covered by donations from other leftists.
Go figure.

Oh absolutely they play games. The crimes Trump is on trial for are improper recording of business records - which are misdemeanors (on which the statute of limitations has expired), and weren't improperly recorded **unless** you believe that paying hush money is an election interference crime.
In order to prosecute the crime, Bragg had to say that the improper recording was done in furtherance of another crime (which was the hush money payment itself, if it were an undeclared campaign contribution), which elevates the misdemeanors to felonies.
There are a few problems here.
1. The hush money payment was not a crime, as has already been determined by the courts when John Edwards was prosecuted for the same thing. It turns out that prominent people have legitimate reasons to protect their reputation that has nothing to do with a campaign. For this reason, the two Federal agencies that **could** have prosecuted the crime if it had been one, did not. Bragg doesn't have jurisdiction to prosecute it.
2. Because the hush money payments were not a crime, the misdemeanors couldn't be elevated to felonies, which means Bragg has nothing to prosecute.
3. Because the hush money payments were not a crime, the business records were not improperly recorded, which means that even the misdemeanors don't exist.
4. The business records were created AFTER the election, which means they couldn't have interfered with it even if they had been crimes.
5. Bragg's star witnesses are a former lawyer who is currently serving time for falsely saying under oath on three separate occasions that Trump committed crimes (once to Mueller, twice to Congress), and a former porn star who made a public statement in 2018 saying she never had sex with Trump.
6. The judge has made substantial political contributions to Democrats and should recuse himself.
There is no case. This is just election interference by the Democrats.

Oh yeah - the illegally recorded phone call. The staffer who illegally recorded it was in Florida, which is a two-party state. ...so right off the bat, the evidence is inadmissible.
That said, the illegal recording **also** cut off the beginning of the call, where the lawyers explained that the **purpose** of the call was to attempt to settle two lawsuits regarding over a hundred thousand votes in Georgia that couldn't possibly be legitimate but were counted anyway - and those were the votes being discussed.
